• Ernesto setting a trap for their old manager Fredo. He brought Hector to give an air of innocence, but set things up far ahead to help give their family a better start away from such an evil man.
• Hector was wounded badly in the earthquake, but managed to push down his own pain long enough to find his son, move the tree away, and ensure everyone was safe before passing out.
• Mateo finally gets pushed too far by the bully. And gives him the beating he deserves for insulting his dead sister.
• The whole family gives the Cavallero boy some good punches as Coco and Julio finish their courtship.
• Leti and Dante working together to get Hector back home to save Imelda from early labor.
• Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is to admit we need help. Mateo, after seeing what his own PTSD can do to affect his family, bites the bullet and begins going to therapy. Fully committing to healing the scars that go all the way back to his childhood.
• Coco, despite the horror she experienced from the death of Ernesto, was able to work her trauma into a new narrative about the importance of appreciating family and giving them all the time they need to grow. And she holds her ground against her father, saying that while horrible, Ernesto's death was a terrible accident that you can't blame on music.
