RELEASE ENERGY!

Being a story centered around the imagination and fantasies of a child, awesome stuff is bound to happen.

Unmarked spoilers ahead!

  • Using the Combination Attack pictured to utterly destroy a foe, especially if you're near death.
  • Every time you overcome a major challenge that is commonly perceived as a stumbling block — or even has been a stumbling block for you personally — is a cause for celebration. It's even better if they provide fantastic battle music along the way. Contenders include Sweetheart, Humphrey, and Perfectheart.
  • The fight with the Hooligans is normally a Hopeless Boss Fight, however, if you use the pepper spray obtained from Kel's mom's purse, you can instead turn it into a Curb-Stomp Battle in your favor.
  • Kel calling out Aubrey for her self-pitying delinquent bullshit. Kel says that Aubrey is not the only one who lost Mari, and that while Mari's death was indeed tragic, it doesn't give Aubrey the right to start acting like she was the only one who suffered.
  • For a shut-in who's only spent two days out of his house and had to be forced to confront his prior two phobias, you have to give Sunny credit for gathering enough courage to dive into the lake after Basil, despite his fear of drowning.
  • Hero saves both Basil and Sunny from drowning. He then assesses they need to get dry clothes for Basil.
  • The fact that Hero has the wisdom and grace to admit that he was a jerk to Kel after Mari died, and only cared about his own pain. Kel forgives him when Hero apologizes.
  • Pluto's rematch in the Last Resort is against his Expanded Form. The battle starts as he trashes the office and the platform skyrockets into space — a fitting arena to contain his new larger form. As the fight goes on he begins flexing even harder to challenge your party more. All this, while GOLDENVENGEANCE is playing in the background, makes for a showdown that's pouring with spectacle.
  • In the Hikkikomori Route you gain the ability to have a proper fight against Something and the phobias it represents. Sunny finding the strength to overcome each phobia is one thing, but being able to flex your might and defeat the phobias in a straight fight is cathartic!
  • One that makes sense if you've done the Hikkikomori Route and then do (another) Sunny Route playthrough: It takes Sunny three days to do all of the chores assigned by his mother. At the start of One Day Left in the latter route, you find out that Hero did all of those chores in a single morning.
  • One Offscreen Moment of Awesome for the friend group: while they didn't wake up in time to stop Basil from attacking Sunny, they did apparently get both boys to the hospital after Basil stabs Sunny in the eye. As it is, Sunny received medical treatment while unconscious.
  • By the end of the Main Route, the player knows very well that Omori is not the hero of the story, and he acknowledges it. Omori is also correct to an extent in his Breaking Speech towards Sunny: he points out that even if it was an accident, Sunny still killed Mari and lied to his friends about the truth for years. They won't easily forgive him for such, and he can't run away from the guilt forever. In the good ending, Sunny acknowledges silently that Omori is right about what happened, but he still has to face his past, and ends up defeating Omori with the violin solo that he was meant to play at the recital years ago.
