The number of funny moments in Not Quite As Planned is matched only by the number of awesome moments.
- Ichigo dropping Jidanbo with a One-Hit KO then blasting the gate off its tracks.
- Ishida paying Renji back for his earlier defeat, completely owning him with little more than superior use of the battlefield.
- Ichigo vs Mayuri. Awesome, as well as enough Nightmare Fuel to launch a space shuttle. Really, any time Ichigo uses his Resureccion you can expect a Moment of Awesome to follow.
- Ichigo firing a Gran Rey Cero. Aizen really wasn't expecting that to hit him.
- Orihime and Chad tag teaming Kenpachi. They're completely outclassed in raw power, but they manage to stalemate Kenpachi long enough that he offers to leave them alone in exchange for a raincheck to fight Ichigo.
- In a villainous example, Aizen sneaking up on Yoruichi, Ukitake, and Soi Fon and taking them out all at once.
- And conversely, Soi Fon's silent alarm summoning help in time to save their lives.
- Ichigo breaking every rule in the "Shonen Protagonist Combat Rulebook" and sucker-punching Byakuya and Komamura. He hits them full force in his Resureccion before they can even draw their Zanpakuto.
- The Omake. Still non-canon but Byaukuya, Renji, Ichigo, Soifon and many others walking to the track "March to Arlong Park" is still awesome.
- Orihime vs Aizen. Aizen loses. Badly. Beware the Nice Ones indeed.
- The entire Hollow Invasion of Seireitei is one moment of awesome after another on all sides.
- Hinamori takes out Tesla with a big ol' explosive kido array.
- The 12th Division vs Szayel. Curb-Stomp Battle doesn't even begin to cover it.
- Kyoraku's Big Damn Heroes moment and the complete thrashing he gives Nnoitora.
- The kicker however is easily Uryuu firing an Seele Schneider powered by Ichigo and Kenpachi. It breaks negacion and cuts Aizen's arm. That's right, they broke an impenetrable barrier that was regarded as being another dimension.
Sequel:
- The Season II trailer is an awesome moment for the author. It's written as if Don LaFontaine was narrating and you can definitely hear his Voice as you read it.
- The first chapter of the sequel is one long series of awesome moments as Ichigo and Kenpachi slug it out.
- Ichigo and Senna vs The Dark Ones in the graveyard.
- Senna prevents her own kidnapping by blasting Ganryu in the balls with Hado #1. Then she beats the tar out of Benin and hogties her with her own weapon.
- Sayoko and Wilhelmina acting as Ninja Maids and giving two Bount a heck of a time trying to get past them (though Uryuu helped).
