• Herbert buying a new baby carriage for Agnes with his first book advance.
• The two horses: Mads tries to motivate Daniel to get better grades in school by buying a horse for his sister and not him.
  Mads: That's what you get if you're good in school.
  (Kathrine comes out with a second horse that she has bought for Daniel)
  Kathrine: That's what you get for being a good boy.
• Hell hath no fury like Jørgen Varnæs' wife Minna, when she finds out about his affair with Gitte Graa. She wants a divorce, she is going to pluck him, she'll make sure that he can't even become deputy accountant in his party, she's going to ruin him and leave him in the dirt - and she has NO time for Maude's neurotic prattle about family, status, scandal, and how lonely she will become in their ten-room flat in Stockholmsgade:
  Minna: I will rather run a boarding house for dirty students in all ten rooms than have that swine in one!
• Daniel's quiet eviction of Aunt Anna after she calls Ingeborg a "harlot" to her face.
• Maude driving Mr. Stein to safety during the German deportation of the Danish Jews.
• Ingeborg's takedown of Mads in the last episode of the show after he throws Daniel out for being gay. Mads is completely taken aback, and the pure venom in Ingeborg's voice makes that quite understandable.
