"You don't seem to understand. Earth isn't yours to conquer."

Invincible may be a Decon-Recon Switch of the superhero genre, but that doesn't mean it's above having plenty of badass moments across the entire cast.

Season 1

    It's About Time
  • The security guard shooting out one of the Mauler Twins' eyes. He's scared, practically pinned to the ground, and expecting to die. Yet he does his job, after joking that he got to miss out on mandatory training to spend time with his stepson in London. The best part? He lives!
  • The fight between The Mauler Twins and The Guardians of the Globe which is the first fight scene of the series. The animation alone is an incredible example of what's in store as well as the heroes.
  • When Mark gets his powers, he also starts gaining his father's Nigh-Invulnerable qualities. Todd tries to beat him up again, and Mark is thinking about how his father punched him when he wasn't ready. Mark then gets back up and orders Todd to hit him again. Todd starts doing so, only for Mark to not have a scratch on him and demand more punches. Important to note is that it's implied Mark is getting his Super-Strength, so he could put Todd in a hospital. He doesn't, however, showing a huge amount of control. It's only when Todd walks away calling him a freak that Mark mutters he needs to hit something, ditches school and goes to find a crime to solve.
  • Debbie knows Mark has superpowers like his father now but she never gives an inch as she reminds him that, superhero or not, she is his mother.
Debbie: Honey, it's the middle of the night. I have work tomorrow, you have school. Get inside right now.
    Mark: Make me.
Debbie: Does that make you feel strong? To know I can't physically make you do something? Is that what you need?
    • Earlier, she also stands her ground with Nolan when Mark comes back from training with his dad pretty roughed up.
Debbie: Did you maybe push too far?
      Nolan: Are you questioning me?!
Debbie: What the hell has gotten into you?
      Nolan: I don't know. I— I'm sorry.
  • Mark's first foray as a superhero in his makeshift costume, stopping a robbery crew which includes a supervillain with rock skin. Slightly subverted when his father shows up and points out that a) his costume looks ridiculous, b) by "skipping a few steps" in training, he did more damage than necessary.
    • His second foray goes slightly better after getting his official costume, taking on a villain that's going on a rampage. He saves the officers and disables the villain's weapons.
Invincible: You might as well give up. I'm-[cue Title Card]
  • Amber kicking Todd in the balls after he begins to beat up Mark.
  • The battle between Omni-Man and the Guardians, especially as this comes after 40 minutes of what seemed like your typical Origins Episode only to be subverted to hell and back. This is the point where you really know what to expect from the series...
    • In the comics, the Guardians were all killed by Omni-Man stupidly easy with none of them (sans The Immortal) realizing what was happening. Even then all he got was a Hidden Disdain Reveal last words before being killed off as well. Here they use their combined teamwork to subdue him twice and do some serious damage.
      • Even going with the theory that Omni-Man deliberately let them hurt him to provide himself an alibi, the fact the Guardians still nearly killed him and gave him injuries that left him in a coma for days says something about their full abilities.
    • Keep in mind, they're under the impression that Omni-Man may be mind-controlled so it's implied they're, subconsciously, holding back somewhat. One has to wonder if they were facing a supervillain, they'd have really cut loose.
    • It's hinted that Darkwing or one of the others could have fled to get backup. They chose to stay and fight to the bitter end.
    • While it's obviously horrifying and gruesome, there is definitely something to be said for Omni-Man's sheer power. When outnumbered by the world's greatest superheroes, he manages to kill every last one of them.

    Here Goes Nothing

    Who You Calling Ugly?
  • Doubles as a moment of Funny, Monster Girl's casual ass-kicking of Rex Splode after pressing her Berserk Button, especially as he had just been caught cheating on Eve.
    • When Robot is listing off those who have passed and are the new Guardians of the Globe this includes Monster Girl. Rex interrupts laughing, at the idea of this little girl being made a Guardian leaving everyone speechless. Monster Girl gets back at him implying his strutting around is him Compensating for Something. This gets a few of the heroes present laughing.
Rex: [Pissed, charges his powers] Someone needs to teach you some mother-fucki-[Monster Girl starts to transform] Whaaaaat the fuck? [Gets punched across the room into the arena]
    • Invincible ends up stepping in when he thinks it gone too far, taking out Monster Girl out in one hit helping to remind the audience he could've made Guardian if his parents had allowed him.
  • Black Samson who firmly puts Rex Splode in his place after a very insensitive comment about how he might have helped the previous Guardians had he not lost his powers. It's a potent enough response that Rex, wisely, shuts the hell up after he says it.
Black Samson: I don't know you yet. So I'm gonna assume that was a joke and I don't need to beat your ass until all you wanna do is call me "Dad" again.
  • Invincible's team-up with Atom Eve to take on a Mad Scientist called Doc Seismic whose attacking Mount Rushmore.
    • Invincible saving a group of Boy Scouts from the 'Lincoln head' portion of Mt. Rushmore while also mocking Doc Seismic's bad puns.
  • Omni-Man beating a kaiju offscreen. Props to the kaiju too, as it apparently put up a very legitimate fight. Cecil was impressed enough to hang onto it as a back up plan.

Neil Armstrong, Eat Your Heart Out
  • The GDA soldiers taking down a dragon in Rome, even though Omni-Man refuses to intervene.
  • Omni-Man demonstrates how powerful he is by doing nothing at all; namely, when a dragon shows up in Rome, he refuses to step in, instead stating he's on vacation with his wife. While it's a very callous and cruel moment, it's so casual that it also serves as a frightful reminder that he's in no danger whatsoever.
  • Cecil shows that he's actually very good at his job by revealing that he figured out that Nolan was the culprit of the Guardian's murder. He banishes Darkblood not because he knew the truth, but because he was sloppy and Nolan knew he was onto him. Cecil was only waiting on finding a way to stop Omni-Man before having the GDA challenge or expose him outright.

    That Actually Hurt
  • Titan lethally taking out a warehouse of gangsters in the episode's first six minutes, set to Make Way For The King by Rap artist Ohana Bam. The man is like a deadly Luke Cage.
  • Mark nonchalantly texting Amber while a villain attacks him, no selling a rock, a mail bin and a pipe.
  • Mark lifting a building and nonchalantly quipping.
  • Mark tells off his asshole boss and quits his job, using his powers to leave and throw the apron at him before the guy even turns around.
  • Debbie telling Mark that he is never above helping people, despite what Omni-Man says. In one dialogue exchange, Invincible reconstructs what it means to be a superhero, and shows exactly why Omni-Man isn't one.
  • Mark stopping a meteor as part of his training.
  • Debbie manages to pull off some top-tier sleuthing by giving Omni-Man a grocery list that will take him twenty minutes across the world, even with his powers. With this time, she finds his torn-up uniform. Not bad for a mere mortal.
    • She didn't just give him a grocery list, she figured out the best order to give the requests in to make him take as long as possible, and so she would know exactly how long she would have to search.
  • Titan and Mark forming an alliance to take down Machine Head.
  • Machine Head, upon Titan and Invincible's arrival, nonchalantly having a group of supervillains teleported in. The supervillains go to town on the two despite a valiant fight.
  • When Titan is cornered and in pain, Mark again unleashes his rage, beating the crap out of most of the villains there. Props especially to Steven Yeun for really showing off his voice acting chops.
Invincible: YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING DEAD!
  • The new Guardians of the Globe arriving and saving Mark and Titan.
  • Everything about the supervillains vs. the new Guardians:
    • Before it even starts, Battle Beast utterly destroys Mark.
    • Robot and Battle Beast go head to head. While the others can't contend with Battle Beast, Robot puts up a solid fight for a few seconds by outmaneuvering him. He dodges the warrior's swings without even looking while giving Dupli-Kate orders. For that matter he's the only one to inflict any sort of lasting damage on Battle Beast, burning a part of his arm with a laser beam.
    • Battle Beast destroying the Guardians. He annihilates Black Samson's arm and slams him across the room, smashes off Monster Girl's face, and goes essentially unchallenged. It's only through his own will that he leaves, having had enough blood and allowing the Guardians to gain the upper hand.
    • The new Guardians finally working as a proper team, with all of them using each other's abilities to their advantage, beating the supervillains, with it culminating in Rex Splode delivering a well-deserved punch to Machine Head's face.
Rex Splode: You guys just messed up.
    Robot: Indeed!
    Shrinking Rae: Big time.
  • Titan taking up the role of the city's kingpin at the end of the episode. It only took one fight for him to go from a thug Forced into Evil to the ruler of the city's underworld, with him ultimately promising to do better than his predecessor Machine Head.

    You Look Kinda Dead
  • Right off the bat, Robot makes it quite clear that he will not leave Monster Girl, who he has come to empathize with for their similar situations, no matter what the hospital staff says. He even goes on to send a drone to the Arctic and retrieve a special flower to save her life.
  • Nolan follows up Debbie's top tier sleuthing by doing the same, deducing that she was meeting with Art via simple context clues and going there as well. Say what you will of him, but his powers are far from everything he has.
  • Art helps Debbie find out that Omni-Man killed the Guardians, and survives a meeting with him no less.
  • Mark's first fight with one of Sinclair's cyborgs. Despite being taken by surprise, Mark saves William instantly, fights back, and accidentally beats it by letting it see what it really is, driving it to impale itself.
  • William of all people gives the villain of the week, Sinclair, a brutal beatdown, followed up by Mark breaking the sick bastard's jaw in a well-deserved conclusion.
  • When the first reaniman attacks, despite him proving immediately to be very dangerous, instead of running away Amber entirely prioritizes trying to help other escape the danger instead. Helping downed strangers up to their feet.
  • After talking and working with Amber at the Community Centre, Atom Eve finally dismisses the idea of normal life and becomes a full-time superhero. We see her replanting forests, saving the environment, and preventing natural disasters like an avalanche and a wildfire entirely. The use of her power is frankly incredible, and what she does is downright awesome.
  • After William gets through to him, Rick deactivates his programming and saves Mark and William.
  • Despite admitting he's too scared to tell anyone and being visibly horrified of him, Art manages to avoid giving away the fact he knows Omni-Man killed the Guardians to him. Granted, it's pointless since Nolan already knows, but you've still gotta give the guy credit.
  • Debbie finally, absolutely certain that Nolan murdered the Guardians, stands up to her superpowered, nigh-omnipotent husband (who's been lying to and gaslighting her, no less!) who she knows murdered every superhuman who took him on. While the superheroes and supervillains kick plenty of ass, Debbie Grayson is a normal woman who Nolan could kill instantly with no trace... and she delivers the three words everyone watching the show has been waiting to hear.
    Debbie: Fuck you, Nolan.
    • A bit of added awesome is that Nolan up to this point hasn't really shown any emotion in the series, just levels of indifference, but after Debbie's Precision F-Strike, Nolan actually looks shocked and even wounded.
    • Similar to Saiyans, this scene also exemplifies why Nolan was attracted to Debbie when they first met. It makes sense that a Viltrumite would love a strong person that doesn't take shit from anyone.

    We Need To Talk
  • Debbie gets a fair few moments. Despite being a normal woman, she manages to handle herself remarkably well even with all the revelations delivered.
    • Debbie calls Omni-Man out on being a lying, manipulative murderer. She then kicks him out of their house... and he obeys, although he flies out through the roof and promises to come back.
    • Debbie similarly calls out Cecil for his coldness and penchant for lying. She outright tells him she will not see her son used as a weapon.
    • Debbie slaps Cecil right in the face. It's absolutely awesome considering how much of a Manipulative Bastard he's been, especially since he's been spying on her family and stringing them along.
  • This is an entire episode about the GDA holding the line against Omni-Man to acquire Mark. Suffice it to say, Nolan Grayson himself more than earns his keep.
    • Just how far they cross the Godzilla Threshold to slow Omni-Man down. Tons of tactics, dozens of different moves... and they're nothing against him.
    • Omni-Man absolutely shredding the soldiers at his home, before destroying everyone for spying on him, forcing Donald to blow himself up to hold him back.
    • Omni-Man vs Cecil's Kill Sat. It shoots Nolan into the ground with enough force to demolish the area, kill all life in it, and leave a burning crater. Then Nolan flies up into space, powers through the second beam, and demolishes it in a Speed Blitz. If nothing else, the Kill Sat gets points for giving Omni-Man a nose bleed.
Cecil: 400 billion dollars, the world's most expensive nosebleed.
    • Also, credit to Art, as Omni-Mans costume survives it without a scratch.
    • The GDA has to summon the kaiju Omni-Man previously fought, enhanced and enraged. Omni-Man almost loses, but this gets even more awesome when Mark arrives, and the two fight together against the monster.
    • After having gone through all of the above, Omni-Man not only holds his own against a revived Immortal, but kills him again, slicing him in half with a karate chop.
  • The GDA and Cecil Steadman get plenty of moments to be proud of too. In general, they manage to sufficiently slow Omni-Man despite the fact he's displayed as a Person of Mass Destruction.
    • They were prepared to fire on Omni-Man to protect Debbie during both of her arguments with Nolan. While it's shown that it would have done nothing since he curb-stomps them, it shows they were ready for the worst-case scenario. The minute he's gone? Donald evacuates her, apologizing for the intrusion.
    • Cecil acquires Debbie so Nolan can't hurt her, and the GDA sets up in Omni-Man's home. While it's ineffectual, it starts their battle.
    • Debbie is forced to admit that Cecil has legitimate points. He says that the world has no defense against Omni-Man, and thus they had to keep the investigation secret to ensure that Nolan wouldn't go off the deep end. Anything they toss at him won't kill him, just slow him down, and they need to tell Mark what happened so his father can't manipulate or hurt him. When Debbie wants Cecil to call off the kaiju on seeing Mark fight it as well, she says she hates him when he says that if he does, Nolan will come for the GDA and slaughter everyone.
    • Donald doesn't hesitate to sacrifice himself to distract Omni-Man and help the other staff at the surveillance station escape. Even with Omni-Man holding him by the spine, his last action is to blow himself up to possibly slow Omni-Man down... declaring that It Has Been an Honor.
    • Cecil gives Omni-Man "The Reason You Suck" Speech while utilizing Teleport Spam to evade his every blow, maneuvering around him. Even better, the first time it's demonstrated, Cecil clearly is nervous as Omni-Man's hands close in for his vitals, breathing heavily and giving a short relieved laugh when he sees the tactic succeeded. Cecil isn't in control of his teleporting, and is reliant on his agents back at the base to judge when to move him around, effectively gambling each and every time that they'll be fast enough, and that a single touch from Omni-Man would be lethal or crippling at best. Even while knowing he can get killed, Cecil refused to risk anybody else's lives in this precarious position because he wants to hear out Omni-Man, to hear if he has a reason, doubling as an almost heartfelt plea to his former friend to unburden himself now they're past keeping pretences up to each other. Omni-man is still unforthcoming about his motive, but the conversation does succeeded in Cecil's backup goal of delaying him for longer than the GDA could have done with conventional weaponry. Omni-man's frustrated final attack on him only manages to snag Cecil's tie to cap off his minor victory against the Invincible Villain.
Cecil: I just wanna know why. Every one of the Guardians risked their necks for you. Over and over again.
Omni-Man: I never needed their help. They were weak.
Cecil: They were your friends! And so was I. Which is why I know you didn't kill them for the fun of it. You had a reason. You wanna get it off your chest?
    Omni-Man: (Shockwave Clap)
Cecil: Fine. Don't tell me. But what about Debbie, huh? Doesn't she deserve an answer?
    Omni-Man: Don't say her name...
Cecil: Why not? You hurt her, not me. She and I have that in common now. I'm a good liar. I'm a very good liar. But you, you're better. You fooled her. Hell, you fooled all of us for what, 20 years? Wait, does Mark know that his dad's a murderer? Does he know? ...No? What's he gonna do when he finds out, huh?
Omni-Man: This is pointless. You can't stop me.
Cecil: Yeah, you're right. I can't, but I can do the same thing I've been doing since I figured out you were a lying piece of shit. I can buy us a little more time.
    • Then Cecil unleashes Sinclair's cyborgs on Omni-Man. Credit where credit's due, while Nolan ends up utterly destroying them, they manage to genuinely overwhelm and beat Nolan into the ground. The fact that Mark couldn't do much against them is not a huge surprise considering.
    • Cecil not only kept the kaiju Omni-Man fought around, he enhanced it and sends it after Omni-Man. It's entirely possible that, had Mark not shown up, the monster might've actually beaten Omni-Man, as it was giving him quite the run for his money. The cost was that it burned out the teleporter.
Omni-Man: You must be desperate. I beat this thing already.
Cecil: Sure... But we removed its pain center and juiced it up with every drug, enhancement and upgrade we had. Plus all that really pissed it off, and it blames you. Good luck.
  • To assure the Mauler Twins that he's not a threat, Robot melts down his drone. Despite this, they're still wary enough to continue their work for him.
  • After acquiring his new form with intent to be with Monster Girl, Robot declares that the Mauler Twins are going to jail and summons a massive machine, made from the truck he arrived in. While the Twins put up a solid fight and must be given their dues, Robot shows his skill incredibly, being completely vulnerable yet still commanding the machine to take them down.
  • Amber has already figured out by herself, that Mark is Invincible. Her problem was that he wouldn't fess up at any point, not that he was a superhero. She tells Mark off for treating her so poorly and notes that, indeed, Mark was a terrible boyfriend.
  • William manages to join Art in the "casually deals with being threatened by Omni-Man" club, although he has no context and seems more confused than anything.
  • Mark still comes to help Eve, even if he's a dick about it. When he arrives, he fares very well against the monster Omni-Man is fighting despite his inexperience, even electrocuting it with power lines. His quick thinking is impressive and undeniable.
  • The Mauler Twins revive The Immortal, who manages to effortlessly shatter his collar and goes to fight Nolan. While Omni-Man wins, The Immortal, in his fury, does incredible damage. Omni-Man is visibly tired and struggling by the time he puts him down via slicing him in half. His Unstoppable Rage is a sight to behold. He even gouges out Omni-Man's eyes while impaled on Omni-Man's fist, with Omni-Man having to bisect him to stop him.
    The Immortal: OMNI-MAN! YOU BASTARD!
    • It's been well established that the Immortal is pretty much outclassed and outmatched by Omni-Man on every level. Yet when he and Omni-Man hit each other during a moment of Air Jousting note , it was Omni-Man who was sent flying .
    • The second after that you can actually Omni-Man being visibly suprised that he underestimated the Immortal
    • Even though he loses the fight again, The Immortal still forces Omni-Man to show his true colors to the entire world, leaving him nowhere to hide.
  • The last line of the episode. After Mark sees who Omni-Man truly is, Omni-Man, scarred, beaten, bleeding and damaged, turns to him.
Omni-Man: Mark... we need to talk.

    Where I Really Come From
  • Let's just say all of Mark's fight with Nolan, crossed with Nightmare Fuel and Tear Jerker.
    • The first thing Mark does? Punch Omni-Man right in the face! While it's because he thinks Nolan's brainwashed and wants to free him, it's still undeniably satisfying to watch.
    • Cecil wastes no time in dispatching fighter jets to Omni-Man. Let it not be said that the GDA, and humanity by extension, gave up without a fight!
    • The new Guardians rejecting Cecil's orders and leaving their base to help people in the chaos, even if they can't stop the fight.
Rudy: Cecil's orders were to stay here!
    Dupli-Kate: We don't care.
    • When Omni-Man explains the Viltrumites' Social Darwinist past and the intention to conquer Earth and fold it into their empire, Mark doesn't even have to think before rebuking his views thoroughly and making him question things.
    • Mark is convinced, throughout the entire fight no less, that Nolan can be saved. Ultimately, while Nolan dismisses it as stupid, Mark is proven right.
    • Omni-Man is still in top form as usual, tearing apart jets sent at him and utterly thrashing Mark physically. It's not even a fight. While it's horrific, he even manages to cause natural disasters in seconds, demonstrating his pure power. The same sort of power that Nolan used when he wiped out the Flaxans is back in full force.
    • Mark not only surviving the sort of Metronomic Man Mashing that killed Darkwing, but being thrown across the horizon. The fact Mark survives any of what he gets hit with by Nolan is extremely impressive.
    • Despite how beaten and bloodied he gets at the hands of his father, Mark still doesn’t back down and does his best to try and save lives.
    • Even when bloodied and barely able to stand, Mark still refuses to back down and swears he'll stop his father.
    • Mark managing to hold up a building in an attempt to save a mother and her child. While he ultimately fails, it's a display of exactly what makes him a hero.
    • Probably the biggest moment of their confrontation: Mark, when asked by Omni-Man what he'll still have after five hundred years, responds by telling him, emotionally destroying Omni-Man, who has a realization and flies away from Earth. It wasn't the Viltrumite in Mark that saved the world, but the human.
Nolan: YOU'RE FIGHTING SO YOU CAN WATCH EVERYONE AROUND YOU DIE! THINK, MARK! You'll outlast every fragile, insignificant being on this planet! You'll live to see this world crumble to dust and BLOW AWAY! EVERYONE and EVERYTHING you know WILL BE GONE! WHAT WILL YOU HAVE AFTER FIVE HUNDRED YEARS?
  • Cecil already has backup plans, with a lengthy, detailed, well-done cover story to help the Graysons deal with Nolan's true nature.
  • The GDA is reviving The Immortal again and seem to be making good progress. Quite impressive considering how badly Omni-Man damaged him just after his previous revival.
  • The new Guardians finally wipe the bloodstain off the wall... as a team, no less.
  • The conversation with Allen and "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue that closes out the episode has a number of moments.
    • Allen tells Mark that he's the first person in the entire galaxy who has ever made a Viltrumite abandon their post. Mark did through words alone what nobody else ever has.
      • Debbie should also get some credit here; she spent two decades teaching Omni-Man what it means to be human, to be a parent, to love. Mark finished the job, but Debbie laid the groundwork.
    • Allen confirms that not only are the Coalition of Planets forming a force to take down the Viltrumite Empire, they're going to need to consult Mark. On the other hand, the Viltrumite Empire is going to be pursuing revenge...
    • Titan taking on what is possibly a rival for his throne as kingpin of the city without even a hint of fear.
    • Battle Beast is still kicking ass on alien planets, being his usual Blood Knight self.
    • Doc Seismic is still alive, despite last being seen falling into lava, and is now the leader of a race of lava monsters.
    • Some of the Flaxans are alive, despite what it seemed Nolan did to them. Of course, the Flaxans being the Flaxans, they're plotting revenge.
    • Cecil has built an army of Reanimen, proving that he hasn't lost his competence or his ruthlessness.

Special

    Atom Eve Special

Season 2

A Lesson For Your Next Life
  • Angstrom Levy having the balls to mouth off to Evil! Invincible and Omni-Man to their faces, right after they defeated Atom Eve and Robot and are about to slaughter the rest of the resistance. Not even a sweat drop, just sheer contempt.
  • Invincible’s heroism montage, set to Karma Police by Radiohead.
    • Starting off with him flying over the ocean, using his speed to generate a tidal wave, and leading the wave into a port to put out a fire. For extra cool factor, he lets the wave engulf him.
    • Curb stomping the Elephant in under ten seconds, tossing him into a car by his trunk.
    • Cannonballing himself into the sky, then catching a car chase on the highway. He rips the engine parts out of the robbers’ getaway car, then he drops the parts at their feet when they try running on foot. He's never even seen by the robbers or the audience.
    • He lifts an ambulance and speeds it to the hospital. While one of the EMTs is gaping at this, the other immediately continues chest compression on their patient.

In About Six Hours, I Lose My Virginity to A Fish
  • In the alternate universe Angstrom visits, humanity actually killed Omni-Man and captured Invincible. They ambushed the former over Europe using quantum bombs, and though they leveled most of the continent, they still beat him. After that, they simply pursued Invincible relentlessly until he was forced to rest, at which point he was captured and imprisoned in the Pentagon.
  • Mark is getting his ass beat by the Depth Dweller. Cecil recognizes that the mission turned out to be a lot more dangerous than he would let Invincible to take part in, so he sends backup so Invincible can get away. Said backup is a salvo of rockets aimed at the battle arena that succesfully covers Mark's escape, but lets the kaiju monster loose on the Atlanteans and here comes the personal moment of awesome: Invincible recognizes that all the Atlanteans wanted was (their interpretation of) justice for the death of their king, they were perfectly willing to settle with the surface world, indicating a preference for peace - further demonstrated by them taking the opportunity to call it even over Mark saving the queen later. And now, because of Invincible, innocent Atlantean civilians are about to be massacred, arguing the same point to Cecil over the radio. When the director tries countering that Mark is not his father, he proves him right by going against his orders, gaining a Heroic Second Wind and defeating the Depth Dweller.

    This Missive, This Machination!
  • Despite knowing he's totally outmatched and despite being savagely beaten, Allen refuses to rat out Mark to the Viltrumite hunting party and even baits his enemies into beating him to near-death so they'll leave empty-handed without hurting anyone else. And he survives the No-Holds-Barred Beatdown against all odds. Allen may not be as physically powerful as the Viltrumites, but he's got more guts then all of them combined.

    It’s Been A While
  • Mark getting his Heroic Second Wind against Thula once Nolan reminds him that unless he drops his restraints both physically and morally everyone will be killed. Mark not only starts to hold his own but nearly wins, and he’s only nearly killed due to hesitating to strike the killing blow allowing Thula to severely injure him by stabbing him in the stomach. Goes to show that Mark does have the potential to go toe to toe with other Viltrumites. Making it even more impressive is that even Nolan had said that Mark would need some more training to actually help him fight the Vilrumites if they were going to save the Thraxans. All Mark needed was some “inspiration” and he managed to turn the fight around in almost an instant.
  • The entire Thraxa fight is awesome, particularly the montage of the four combatants just pounding the absolute shit out of each other. Special mention goes to Omni-Man's brutal finisher on Vidor by literally cracking apart his skull with a double-fisted blow.
Nolan: Do you regret attacking my family now?! DO YOU?!?!
  • Some props need to be given to Lucan, who cold-cocks Omni Man while literally holding his guts in his lap. Villainous Valor doesn't get much more valorous than that.

This Must Come As A Shock
  • One young guard at the Missile Silo during the attack of the Lizard League manages to raise the alarm, even as he's dying from being impaled from behind.
  • Rex Splode managing to kill the Igauna and Komodo Dragon. He’s understandably terrified after just watching his teammates get smashed to death and eaten alive respectively, but he pushes through it and ultimately comes out almost on top at the cost of his hand.
    • Rae gets points as she manages to kill at least one member before getting eaten alive by Komodo. Even if her attempt to kill him ended horribly, she didn’t go down without a fight.

    It's Not That Simple
  • Somehow, Rex Splode managed to survive getting shot in the fucking head, and proceeded to beat the shit out of King Lizard with what remained of his left hand. And he's not the only one: Shrinking Rae also survived the Fold-Spindle Mutilation inflicted on her by Komodo's body, and crawls her way out of his stump neck. Determinator does not begin to describe these two.
  • The Heroes vs The Sequids. Part 2.
    • Rudy's sheer, absolute focus while working on his make-shift device to knock the Sequids out; completely ignoring a splatter of their blood on his face. Coupled by Shapesmith turning himself into a dome to defend Rudy and Eve from the horde.
    • Invincible and the Guardians choosing to not hand Shapesmith over to the Martians the moment they hear that his punishment is death for enabling the Sequid horde, hijacking a ship and escaping the station.
    • Invincible hopping out of the groups' ship and non-lethally taking down every Martian ship chasing after them, to the tune of Baby Drummer by Bad Nerves. It gets him a hug from Eve, a handshake from the previously distrustful Immortal, and overall acknowledgement,.

    I'm Not Going Anywhere
  • Although his explosions don't do much, Rex does a good job of outmaneuvering Octoboss for a while.
  • Donald has died at least 39 times, and each time has been involved doing his damn best to rescue even one more life, without hesitation no less, proving himself to be as much of a hero as the Guardians.
    • Not only that, but going off of Cecil's wording, his decisions to get his memory wiped of these events weren't motivated entirely out of horror at what had happened to him or what he had become, but out of a belief that being saddled with the knowledge of how his heroism tends to end for him will keep him from being as capable at it in the future. Effectively, when he gets squished by a giant Kaiju, his biggest concern is that fear of getting squished by a giant Kaiju again will keep him from continuing to be able to do absolutely everything in his power to help people.
  • Villainous as she may be and as dubious as her words are, Anissa proves far better at pitching a convincing argument for the Viltrumite occupation of Earth to Mark than Nolan. Pointing out all the human suffering that exists every day and the bleak prospect that humans could very well wipe out billions of their own number within the next two centuries due to war or environmental collapse, and then stating the Viltrumite Empire's ability to fix these problems and save humanity from itself. Her reasoned argument catches Mark offguard and leaves him stumbling in his efforts to refute her words.
Anissa: Human civilization has less than an 18 percent chance of surviving the next two centuries without the loss of billions of lives... That is the truth. The powerful of this world destroy their own home, strip resources for themselves, large areas of this planet will soon be uninhabitable due to human greed.
    Mark: ...Yeah, I know.
Anissa: Yet here you are, hands in fists, worrying about stopping me instead of stopping them.
    Mark: It's complicated-
Anissa: No it isn't. We have the technology to repair their climate, feed their hungry, punish their criminals. We will save more of their lives in a single year than you will in a hundred. You are failing this planet and its people, do you not see that?
  • Anissa insta-killing the Kaiju Mark was struggling with, flying straight through it's head and getting the blood covering her whole body off just by stopping mid-flight.
  • After losing her patience with Mark's refusal to toe the line, Anissa proves more than a match for Mark in a fight, utterly manhandling him with little effort and shrugging off his ineffectual attempts to fight back. Dealing a Curb-Stomp Battle reminiscent of when Mark tried to fight his father, and is arguably even more one sided than when Nolan fought Mark, if a lot less drawn out and brutal.
Anissa: Remember that we started with reason.
  • Despite being thoroughly outclassed by Anissa, Mark again refuses to give in and say he'll subjugate Earth for the Viltrumite Empire, even as a lie to get her to stop and leave. Instead, he calls her bluff, noting that the fact that the Viltrumites keep leaving him alive instead of just killing him must mean that they need him, and gives her an ultimatum to either follow through and actually kill him or leave. She does the latter.
Invincible: Do it. Either you need me, or you don't. Make up your mind.
  • Allen, in turn, completely outclassing Anissa, tanking or dodging her attacks while making her take more damage in a single hit than Mark did in his fight. She captures him only because he lets her, faking his defeat in order to find Nolan.

    I Thought You Were Stronger
  • Invincible helping "Agent Spider" to fight an octopus-armed villain. With Josh Keaton returning as another Spider-Man related character. Agent Spider also correctly guesses that Mark is from another universe, having dealt with that himself a few times.
    • There's also a scene where Mark is in another Alternate Universe where he's talking to someone off-screen, the hero's bat-based superhero identity, cape, and the music all but implying that he met Batman. And not a Captain Ersatz or a Expy either, but the actual hero himself. And Mark gets away with calling his hero name "lazy".
  • After one too many dimensional trips, Mark gets wise to Levy opening up portals for him to come back just for more torment. He doesn’t jump through the last one, instead he bides his time and waits for Levy to poke his head out to find out why he isn’t coming through. Then Mark punches him in the face.
    • As disturbing and heartbreaking as it is, Mark getting the upper hand in his fight with Angstrom and absolutely destroying him for hurting Debbie and Oliver is Catharsis Factor incarnate. Starting with flying him into the street.
Mark: What did you do to her!?
      • A good indicator that Mark has finally had enough is when he moves faster than Levy can conjure up a portal!
    • The "No More Holding Back" Speech Mark angrily gives Levy as he kicks his ass up and down the universe they're in, and pummeling him into a pool of blood.
Mark: STOP. THREATENING. MY FAMILY! You have no idea what I've been through! How much I've been holding BACK! I'll never let anyone EVER! EVER! HURT MY FAMILY... ... again.
    • The music in this scene deserves a mention. It starts off sinister with a dark and hopeless ambience in the arrangement, then becomes grander and louder as Levy sends Mark hurtling through dimensions while beating him senseless, before finally settling on the desert planet in an unknown universe. It gets even more sinister, with bleak undertones when he refuses to stop until Mark and his family are dead. Suddenly, when Mark finally stops holding back, the music swells triumphantly and the horns sound as Levy is knocked high into the sky and can only spiral helplessly through the air, and continues to swell as Mark savagely pummels him. Then, it suddenly begins to diminish in its fanfare, slowly settling into something bleaker once again, especially when Mark knocks him to the ground and begins to beat him bloody. Then reality kicks in once again as Mark truly loses control and begins beating Angstrom to death with his bare hands, and the music cuts off altogether, leaving us with only Mark and the consequences of his actions (justified as they were).
  • One has to give it to Debbie; while she’s understandably scared for her and Oliver's safety she spends every chance she has protecting the toddler and assuring him he will be okay. Right down to smacking Levy with stuff while his guard is down.
  • Debbie gives Levy a "Reason You Suck" Speech, pointing out that he's treating Mark as a villain when Angstrom is the one threatening her and the innocent Oliver, while trying to kill a version of Mark who is a hero who saved the world from his own father! She uses Levy’s brief pause of shock to harm him and try to escape with Oliver. It gets her a severely broken arm for her trouble, but it was a good effort.
Levy: Your family's legacy is blood!
Debbie: No. Not me. I raised the boy who defied his father and saved this planet! From what you say, these worlds are extremely different. I know the son I raised, and he’s no killer.
    Levy: You sure about that!?
Debbie: You make it sounds like this is the one world where Mark is good, and you’re the one who’s bad.
    Levy: What!?
Debbie: Oh! That’s why you’re so angry. Because YOU turned out rotten here, and Mark is the hero for once!
