Unmarked spoilers below

  • Being able to stand your ground against two enemies, especially as a more squishy class is badass by in itself. Taking them apart and executing your second victim is even better.
  • Winning a duel match without a single loss by utilizing all the abilities available to you makes you feel like a legendary warrior too.
  • Every. Single. Trailer.
  • Apollyon is cool. Really cool.
    • All of Apollyon's fight scenes in singleplayer are completely badass. No wonder she managed to kill the other warlords and take control of the Blackstone Legion. She uses unique moves and animations during her boss battle which only makes it better.
    • All of Apollyon's speeches are equally badass. She's extremely charismatic, and it shows with the fact she can conquer the Knights effortlessly. Evil Is Cool, thy name is Apollyon.
"If there are wolves among them, should we not set them free?"
  • One must give credit to the Peacekeeper in Apollyon's first scene who manages to stab her. With Apollyon showing how skilled and badass she is every time she appears, it's nice to see her brought down to Earth by another warrior.
    • More credit should be given to the first person to wound her: An ordinary soldier. Yes, the first person to cause actual harm to the super-badass villain was a simple Mook, the sort you kill with one hit.
  • General Tozen's intro cinematic. He comes out of the smoke and effortlessly dices up every Viking warrior in his way, presenting himself as a skilled warrior at first glance.
  • Tozen's duel with the Raider is a huge one for both. Tozen uses his Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane abilities to create "shadows", and the Raider, if the player has a good defensive game, can slay them all nonchalantly, even knocking some off the edges of the area. In response, he himself will duel them to the death. He's a challenging foe in both phases, but what seals the deal is the way he dies. The Raider sends him flying down from the bridge, killing him.
  • The battle between the Warden and the Viking jarl Gudmundr. Gudmundr is a hulking, Odin-esque warlord, who fights the Warden atop a massive battering ram for the first phase of the battle. The second phase, he commands a pack of giant wolves to harass you during the fight, and much like Apollyon, Gudmundr also has unique moves and animations, such as an unblockable bear hug.
  • The Orochi proves their status as The Emperor's Champion is more than deserved during the infiltration of the Imperial Palace. You quickly find an entire court of Samurai training, with more than twenty enemies there. You could just ignore them and continue your mission, but you could also barge in and kill every last one of them.
  • The bosses of the last three Samurai missions. In order, you have a climactic duel with Seijuro in his throne room to win the Imperial Crown and unite the Empire. Then you end up in a duel with a truly Worthy Opponent: Your Warden from the Knights storyline, ending with the two acknowledging each other as honorable and worthy foes. Finally, the last mission has you enter an extended, incredible series of duels with Apollyon while the Shard is being destroyed all around you by catapult fire.
  • For that matter, Apollyon's duels are a massive one for her. Aside from a few flunkies at the start, she doesn't rely on gimmicks, insane tactics, or cheap moves. She's just an equal (if not better) fighter to the Orochi plain and simple. She has a massive health bar, and the player will need to be at the top of their game to parry away and finally kill her. A straightforward Duel Boss is already epic, but the ending is a cherry on top. As she dies, she reminds the Orochi that they can't just avoid war through killing her. As the Samurai and Knights nearly find peace, the Vikings invade. Apollyon has unleashed the Wolves, and created her war.
    • The final boss fight doubles as a Moment of Awesome for the Orochi, because up to this point Apollyon was more or less unbeatable. No character seemed to have even the slightest hope of taking her down, and then one day the Emperor's Champion comes to claim her head. And they win.
  • The first time you see your enemy about to strike you with the flourished and flame-wreathed animation of an unblockable attack, only for you to parry it.
  • Becoming experienced enough to counter, parry, and block other class's more notorious tricks and beat them. Dodging the Lawbringer's charge, stopping a Berserk's heavy attack chain, or annihilating a Nobushi.
  • Lawbringer with the flaming wings + a perfectly timed fire flask = an execution right out of a Michael Bay movie.
  • The Lawbringers as of 1.09 now have a new execution, where they proceed to Neck Lift their opponent, snap their necks, and fling them to the ground. It's most impressive when done to the bigger classes like Shugoki.
  • Entering Revenge mode for the first time, as your character, strikes a pose, shouts, and starts glowing gold like they went Super Saiyan. Gains a shield, bonus stats and unlimited stamina. You know its payback time.
    • Likewise, defeating an enemy while they are in the middle of Revenge. They just got their Heroic Second Wind... and you still shut them down despite that. Doubly so if you still fought them head-on rather than dodged back to let it wear off.
  • The Knights, having been the Butt-Monkey of the Faction War since launch, pull in one for the record by being the first faction to win the Faction War before the season actually ends... as their first win, on top of it. And then be first to win 4/5 rounds for good measure.
  • Some of the executions are downright incredible for both how beautifully animated they are and their extreme brutality. For example, the Centurion gets called "Kicky McCutscene" for good reason, as some of his executions are very flashy and dramatic, and the Shugoki's "The Mountain" execution involves literally popping his opponent's head like a melon.
  • Being able to beat the bosses in the limited time event Test Your Metal can feel extremely satisfying given how difficult they can be, double if you're able to execute them.
    • Apollyon, the monster who ignited war between the factions and is responsible for countless deaths, can be executed in the most awesome, or downright humiliating ways.
  • The reveal of the game's first entirely new faction to be released with the Marching Fire expansion, the Wu Lin, who are basically Chinese warriors. It's not quite For Honor vs. Dynasty Warriors, but it's damn close.
    • The design team did their best to emulate the legendary warrior Guan Yu when they created the Jiang Jun, but feared the Chinese fanbase would not like what they did. Not only did they like it, they were thrilled.
  • The December 2018/January 2019 "For Honor / For the Creed" crossover event with Assassin's Creed gave you the opportunity to fight either Cesare Borgia or Ezio Auditore. Both were extremely strong and quite satisfying to beat.
  • How did For Honor celebrate May 4th in 2019? By turning everyone's weapons into lightsabers, sound effects and all! May the 4th be with you indeed!
    • The event was so crazy and fun that many players were requesting that it be extended, or that the lightsaber effects be made a purchasable cosmetic effect.
  • The weekly quest "The Messengers of Doom", especially if you disliked the extremely dark nature of the Year of the Harbinger. In it, your hero kills Erzebet (Black Prior), Yato (Hitokiri), Gretar (Jormungandr), and Fu Huo (Zhanhu). If you aren't familiar they were the opposite gender counterparts of Vortiger, Sakura, Hulda, and Sun Da. Perhaps not quite as cool as kicking the everliving crap out of the headliners, but still awesome to bring these unpleasent individuals to justice.
  • During the game's fourth year, there was a season titled "Hope" which involved the factions putting aside their differences and forming a brief truce... only for it to be dashed by the secretive Order of Horkos, made up of the Blackstone Legion's survivors and warriors from other factions all united in a cult intent on cleansing the world in a storm of unending war. This season was titled "Tyranny," and featured a lot of nightmarish imagery of biological corruption and cities being burnt and heroes being slaughtered, with no hope remaining. Then, the third season began. Its title? "Resistance."
Narrator: It would be easier to give up and let them decide our fate. But we won't. Because it only takes a spark to start a rebellion.
  • The unveiling of the Gryphon hero. An aging Holden Cross has returned to prominence in order to defeat the Order of Horkos, now equipped with a bardiche and a set of draconite-fueled feats which include a massive explosion that heals your allies after it's done hurting your enemies. And the coolest part? He's the first hero to show up wearing armor that's a hybrid of all four factions.
  • For Halloween 2021, the Trapper from Dead by Daylight appears as an event boss. He's extremely tough to kill and more than capable of tearing an inattentive player to shreds, but the fact remains, you can actually fight and win against a Killer in this game mode!
