DuckTales Season 3 asks a simple question: How do you stop the greatest criminal syndicate in all of Disney canon? By getting help from as many other Disney canons as you can!
    open/close all folders

Episode 1: Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchuck!
  • Violet demonstrates exactly why she is that year's rightful Senior Woodchuck. She remains calm under pressure, uses her ingenuity to handle obstacles that are thrown her way (quickly using the rubber ficus to protect herself from the lightning rain, using the woodpecker's holes as handholds to get off the tree, creating a makeshift glider to get over the lava), and above all else, always helps her fellow Woodchucks.
  • Huey is no slouch himself. While he makes mistakes along the way, most notably by not helping Violet get out of the tree, he takes a big step in operating without referring to the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook... by creating his own mental version, which acts as his Jiminy Cricket. Whose advice he ignores when it suits him.
  • Scrooge casually propping open the Nandi Bear's jaws with his cane as he tries to convince the group to join him in a fight against it.
  • As far as F.O.W.L. is concerned, the Ducks finding the Lost Journal of Isabella Finch counts as one, and they aren't going to take it lying down.
Gandra Dee: The Ducks found the Journal.
Black Heron: Access to the most mysterious relics lost to time.
Bradford Buzzard: Then the race is on.
    • In a way, F.O.W.L. is right about the awesome part. Though the Tittertwill Bird led the Ducks to the Journal, Scrooge was the first person in over a century to realize that the map in Finch's portrait was a real map cleverly concealed in plain sight.

    Episode 2: Quack Pack!
  • The big fight against the studio audience is a series highlight, as it is the first time the entire main cast has thrown down against a common foe. It is glorious.
  • With the addition of Della, the main cast has grown to nine regular characters (Goofy's guest appearance makes it an even ten). Yet at no point does the episode feel overstuffed or like some characters were sacrificed in favor of others. Everyone gets to shine equally, even if the story of this episode is focused on Donald.
  • Only the second episode in and the fans are treated to two favorite characters right off the bat: Goofy and Gene the Genie!!
  • Goofy gets a rather awesome one all his own when he gives Donald some sage advice about how no family is "normal" using his own tendency to end up in disasters doesn't stop him making memories with his son Max.
  • Donald yet again showing off his honed and badass fighting skills (with the same Don Cheadle voice he used in the Season 1 finale) as the rest of the family cheers him on.
  • Beakley, Della, and Webby saving Launchpad from his three prospective dates. It also serves as an affirmation that none of the female leads are designated "The Girl" on this show. They all kick ass in their own way irrespective of their gender.
Beakley: See here, young lady! (Slam!) Take that personal trip yourself! Discover who you are on your own!
    Della: Have some self-respect! (Punch!)
Webby: You can find a better study partner than Launchpad! (beat) No offense, LP.

Episode 3: Double-O Duck in You Only Crash Twice!
  • Scrooge is considered such a threat to F.O.W.L. that when he shows up by happenstance at Funso's, Bradford and Heron both have moderate Oh, Crap! responses. Scrooge is just there with the kids, has no clue what he's standing on, and F.O.W.L. has no reason to believe that Scrooge is there for any reason but random chance. But they hid their base under Funso's specifically because it's a place he would never set foot in. The slightest possibility that Scrooge could find them makes F.O.W.L. decide to get him out of there ASAP.
  • Black Heron tests her intelligence ray on a lab rat, and succeeds in making her smarter. She's soon made herself a quite familiar-looking purple jumpsuit and goggles, and is dragging a wrench to work on some machine she's already gathered nuts, bolts, and rope for. Say hello to Gadget Hackwrench.
    • The Rescue Rangers are a big help to Launchpad and Dewey—they help the two break out of their F.O.W.L. holding cell and show up during Launchpad's final battle with Steelbeak to subdue the villain and let Launchpad stop the giant intelliray blast.
Launchpad: This lighthouse has a bit of a...rodent problem!
      Launchpad: Thanks for the...rescue.
    • More so, when the Rangers show up in the holding cells to put together their iconic plane a certain song starts playing very quietly. As the scene progresses the music grows louder and reveals itself to be an instrumental version of the Rescue Rangers theme song! Later as they help Launchpad stop Steelbeak the song plays again when they come flying in!
  • Ben Schwartz as Dewey singing a pretty good in-universe Bond theme, which plays into the finale.
  • Launchpad sacrificing his newfound intelligence by taking a huge blast point-blank to save the entirety of Duckburg from the same fate. Apparently his innate lack of intelligence is quite a stupendous ability in that the same ray that made him normal would have killed pretty much anyone else (by making them so brainless that they would forget to breathe).
  • Bradford managed to get Dewey and Launchpad back to Funso's and keep either of them or Scrooge from realizing that any of it was more than a game.
  • Bradford is the only villain who came out on top this episode, tricking Scrooge into wasting a ton of money on a worthless arcade game, all of which went right into F.O.W.L.'s pocket. It ties into his Motive Rant when he's chewing out both Black Heron and Steelbeak for their hubris.
Bradford: We. Are. F.O.W.L. We have to be smarter than that. (begins working on the Rubik's cube) We're not trying to destroy the world. We're going to steal it. Right out from under McDuck's nose! (slams down the completed Rubik's cube, spraying saliva) Ew! Why was this wet?
  • Steelbeak blasting Black Heron with her own ray gun after she pushes his buttons one too many times.

Episode 4: The Lost Harp of Mervana!
  • Aletheia, Vero, and the rest of the merfolk jumping into action and fighting against Honestus.
Aletheia: Your life lacks balance! (she and Vero punch Honestus)
Vero: Welcome to Mervana! (a huge group of Mervanans charge at Honestus)
    • Later, they help the McDucks get to safety.
  • Della kicking Monster!Honestus so hard that his teeth fall out.
  • The harp calling Honestus out for being lazy.
  • The fact that by this point Donald Duck has become The Big Guy for the group, the one who, when things look their worst, they turn to to defeat the villain of the day and he ends up headbutting Monster!Honestus with enough force to knock the creature over and cause a small tidal wave!

    Episode 5: Louie's Eleven!
  • Louie's entire scheme is well planned-out, and likely would have worked had it not been for Donald's bad luck, Emma's familiarity with such schemes, and Graves running his own scheme.
  • Emma's Breaking Speech to Louie. Scathing as it was, she completely saw through his plan and tore it apart without even a blink. Normally it takes someone on Scrooge's level to get one over on Louie, and Emma does it with all the ease one would need to take a sip of their drink.
Emma Glamour: What is your plan here, exactly? Oh, let me guess, you had this whole elaborate scheme to get on the IT List and make yourself rich and famous. What do you do, manage a band or something? Happens every year. You're nothing new. You're not original. There is nothing IT about you. So tell me, why would I ever listen to you? Disappear now, goodbye.
  • Donald's solo song in the episode.
  • Dewey rushing to save the day by distracting everyone with his So Bad, It's Good yoyo trick attempts. Emma Glamour even declares that despite the act's awfulness, Dewey is "It."
  • Donald having a Die Hard moment.note
Donald: Yippie ki yay, Mr. Falcon! (while he and Daisy pin Falcon Graves down for a time)
  • When Donald gets hurt, we finally get to see Daisy's own furious side as she snaps and takes out Falcon Graves. Unlike Donald's wild blows, Daisy fights more precisely and uses outside objects - highlights include her hurling her purse into Falcon's face, then using the distraction to punch him right through her handbag; among her blows are a precision kick with her heel to his knee that knocks him off-balance; and she ends the fight by slamming a giant vase over his head hard enough to break it (the vase, not his head).
  • Jose fighting the Slashnikov brothers with just his umbrella. And then the two wolves are stopped covering their ears by a singing Panchito on a T. rex skeleton, allowing Jose to deliver the finishing move.
  • Webby again gets a good showing in against Gabby, throwing a chair at her.
  • Donald stands up for Daisy against Glamour's criticism, which in turn gives Daisy the confidence to do it for herself. She actually earns Glamour's respect for it, and likely a much better career.
Glamour: Daisy! This is your fault! You—!
Donald: No! Listen! Daisy didn't wreck your party, she saved it! So SIT DOWN!
Glamour: No one speaks to me that way!
    Daisy: Well, they do now!
    • Donald is well and truly ticked off but this isn't his usual volcanic rage. Rather he's using the same tone of voice he did when his nephews were trying to cause trouble back in the first episode. Donald is literally treating her like a misbehaving child.
    • Also remember Glamour's treatment of Louie earlier in the episode. Donald didn't just step and defend Daisy, he also told off the woman that nearly broke one of his boys. And you can bet it would have been ten times worse for her if Donald had known about what she did.

    Episode 6: Astro B.O.Y.D.!
  • When B.O.Y.D. is forced to go on a rampage by Akita, Fenton goes Gizmoduck and a fast-paced, explosive fight ensues. The simple fact that B.O.Y.D. has the upper hand for most of the fight shows just how powerful he can be.
    • Special mention to a spectacularly animated Macross Missile Massacre from Gizmoduck, and B.O.Y.D. evading every last one of them.
  • Gyro and Huey discover B.O.Y.D. turning evil was actually a result of Akita overriding his programming to make him a weapon. When Gyro confronts Akita, Akita mocks him and says B.O.Y.D. will always be a weapon for evil. This leads to:
Gyro: Not all of my inventions are evil! Some are just wildly misunderstood! (attacks Akita)
  • Akita attempts a Breaking Speech on Gyro, saying that he'll "never invent anything worthwhile"...but then Lil Bulb crawls out of Gyro's vest and knocks Akita off the platform with one punch.
  • Gyro finally showing Fenton some respect and gratitude by promoting him from intern to full-time employee.

Episode 7: The Rumble for Ragnarok
  • Launchpad so immediately gets into the wrestling theme and turns out to be a great match commentator.
    "Are you ready to RAGNAROOOOOK?!!"
  • Webby and Beakley fighting together in the ring against Jormungandr. It's all but stated that had Jormungandr not decided to play dirty, they would have beaten him.
  • Launchpad actually LANDED THE PLANE.
  • Louie giving his brothers a pep talk, one to Huey to not focus on sport like things and just be like Launchpad, and another to Dewey to not focus on the crowd and just do the right thing and be the hero. Doubles as a Heartwarming Moment.
  • Dewey beating Jormungandr and saving the world by noting that they're no different, surviving every single attack he throws at him to the point the audience sympathizes with him and then having Jormungandr's partners even the odds.
Dewey: I don't care about the crowd, but you do.

Episode 8: The Phantom and The Sorceress!
  • Webby damaging the Blot's magic-draining gauntlet with an axe, stopping him from draining Lena in the process.
  • The Blot has pursued Magica, a sorceress who has routinely given Scrooge a run for his money in the past, for decades, coming back more dangerous than before after each time she defeated him. Magica is actually scared of him. And that was apparently before he joined F.O.W.L. and created a magic-draining gauntlet.
  • When Lena loses her amulet Gladstone tries to catch on his merits instead of relying on luck and succeeds, if in a Butt-Monkey fashion.
    • After the fight he catches Magica in his arms and tries flirting with her, with Magica coldly demanding he put her down. Gladstone obliges with a smile, dropping her right into the swamp bog.
  • Lena unlocking her Super Mode and using it to destroy the Blot's gauntlet, freeing the magic he stole.
  • After Magica regains her magic and tries to get her revenge Lena uses her own magic to defeat her and proclaims that she is going to protect the world from magical threats like Magica. Webby declares at long last Lena has fully stepped out of Magica's shadow.

Episode 9: They Put a Moonlander on the Earth!
  • Most of the Moonlanders have adapted to being on Earth amazingly well.
  • Penumbra saving Webby and Dewey.
  • Gibbous unintentionally getting Glomgold into trouble for building that death trap of a Ferris wheel.
  • Despite Launchpad and Penumbra not working as a couple, they agree to be friends.
  • Hamburger Hippo is now canon in the show.

    Episode 10: The Trickening!
  • Launchpad saving the kids from the monsters and scaring the monsters so badly they are actually impressed.
  • Dewey convincing Scrooge to hand out candy by giving him the idea to charge admission.
  • As comedic as it seems, Launchpad single handedly defeated Scrooge McDuck without any fuss as shown where he repeatedly slams the billionaire inside a candy sack.
  • The fact that Frankenstein's Monster is for once depicted as a Genius Bruiser, coming up with an articulate analysis about today's fears.

Episode 11: The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades!
  • Louie proves once again that he's sharper than the sharpies when he pieces together that the manager of the resort is Ponce de Leon and that he's been stealing the youth of spring breakers to stay young.
  • Scrooge is clearly tempted to keep his newfound youth and have a fresh start with Goldie, but ultimately decides that he can't go through with it because keeping his youth means stealing it from someone else. Scrooge may be old, but just like his money, he earned each of his wrinkles fair and square.
  • Goldie and Scrooge's rapid switching between who's holding the sword when they duel Ponce De Leon.
  • Rockerduck actually managing to get a victory via restoring himself to how he was back when he first fought Scrooge and Goldie.

    Episode 12: Let's Get Dangerous!

  • Remember how Owlson declared last season that she'd make her own fortune? Turns out even that wasn't enough for her, as she also became the mayor of St. Canard and completely wiped out crime in the city until some supervillains have to come in from another universe.
    • And those super criminals? THE FEARSOME FOUR. That's right, Quackerjack, Liquidator, Bushroot, and Megavolt are back.
  • Darkwing handles Gosalyn’s accusations against Taurus Bulba with appropriate caution and subtlety, only confronting Bulba when he finds the picture of Mr. Waddlemeyer corroborating Gosalyn’s story.
  • It's a low-key one, but when the triplets begin to suspect Taurus and confide their concerns to Scrooge, and Taurus tries to invoke Not Now, Kiddo, Scrooge shuts him down, pointing out that if there's one thing he's learned on all these adventures, it's to trust his nephews when something seems fishy. It really goes to show that Scrooge is actually starting to see his nephews as worthy adventurers, and not just clueless kids.
  • Huey is able to identify the technology behind the Ramrod and confronts Bulba about it alongside Scrooge and his brothers.
  • Louie has learned how to pick locks (apparently by practicing on the locks on Scrooge's Money Bin!), and busts himself, his brothers, and Bradford out of Bulba's cages without breaking a sweat.
  • Gosalyn stalls Bulba on the window washing platform long enough for Darkwing to intervene and deliver a particularly rousing version of his Mad Libs Catchphrase, uninterrupted for the first time in the episode. Bonus points for it being a variation of one he used against Bulba in the original show's pilot:
Darkwing: I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am the scourge that pecks at your nightmares!
    Bulba: You are finished!
Darkwing: No. I... am Darkwing Duck!
  • In the original series, Taurus Bulba was a nigh-unstoppable juggernaut who physically dominated every encounter with Darkwing, who only managed to get in one good kick during their first battle. And that was before he was upgraded into a powerful cyborg. But in this series, Darkwing is actually able to fight him on a more even level, delivering several effective blows and using his speed to easily counter Bulba's size and strength advantage.
  • Darkwing works tirelessly for several days to find a way to turn off the Ramrod.
  • Bulba gets a villainous one by capturing Scrooge and the nephews and using the Ramrod to keep Scrooge out of action for several days.
  • Gosalyn and Launchpad are able to infiltrate Bulba's hideout by disguising themselves as two of Darkwing's old villains. Bonus points for Gosalyn using a smoke bomb and Darkwing's catchphrase to distract Bulba and allow Launchpad to free Darkwing.
  • Huey is able to force Bradford to expose his connections to F.O.W.L., and consequently expose the entire organization to Scrooge. In fact, just seeing Bradford finally get exposed. And it's his own fault no less!
  • Darkwing, Gosalyn, and Launchpad charge into battle, shouting an all-too-familiar battlecry.
All three in unison: LET'S. GET. DANGEROUS.
  • Darkwing and Launchpad take on the entire Fearsome Four despite lacking any superpowers and being outnumbered two-to-one. And they win!
    • Darkwing defeats Bushroot by dodging and then tanking his thorn projectiles and landing a good right cross to his face.
    • Darkwing and Lanchpad use a cape and a trash can lid to shield themselves from Liquidator's water stream attacks. Darkwing then redirects it toward Quackerjack, knocking him out cold.
    • Finally, Darkwing lets Liquidator grab him and yanks Megavolt to him with a grappling hook, knocking the electric-based supervillain out and stunning Liquidator long enough for Launchpad to catch him in a trash can.
  • After his minions are beaten, Bulba decides that he's had enough, leaping down from his balcony to face Darkwing personally. While he's a villain, it's hard not to admire his sheer tenacity.
  • Gosalyn destroys the Ramrod and saves all of reality in doing so. Oh, and she does this knowing full well it may forever cost her the chance to find her grandfather. You’d better believe she has what it takes to be a hero.
  • The end sees Darkwing accept Gosalyn and Launchpad as his crimefighting partners as they head off to fight off another supervillain. The iconic trio from the original Darkwing Duck cartoon is back in action!

Episode 13: Escape from the Impossibin!
  • The Reveal that Bradford (through Gandra Dee) had hijacked the Impossibin test as part of his plan to keep Scrooge, Louie, and Della away while the rest of F.O.W.L. steal the Missing Mysteries right under their noses, with Bradford taking control of the Scrooge mecha to give one last "Screw You" to the old duck.
Bradford: Oh, and I'm afraid I'll be leaving the company. Consider this my two week notice.
  • Despite going off the rails almost immediately, Louie and Della demonstrate stellar teamwork as they successfully navigate Scrooge's traps with nothing but sheer cunning and wits, and may have succeeded in escaping the Money Bin fairly if it weren't for Bradford.
    • A special note should go to how they escape the mind-bending gravity puzzle Quackfaster has outfitted the archives with. It's a scenario involving three different plains of gravity and precise co-ordination between Scrooge, Louie, and Della, and yet it's still somewhat scientifically plausible even with Cartoon Physics at play.
  • Webby gets one for standing up to Beakley after realizing her way of training is completely out of line and hurtful towards the boys.
    • While it didn't accomplish much, Huey and Dewey try to protect Webby by charging at Beakley in order to protect her, despite scaring them the entire episode.
    • Donald appears to tell Beakley that she's gone too far.
    • And prior to this, their fear of Webby is fully justified as she bides her time hiding in a food platter, creates a fake shadow and mannequin of herself, and perfectly disguises herself as Dewey complete with voice.
  • Louie and Scrooge using their shared ability of swimming in gold, combined with the Bulb tech's tendency to take insults badly, to defeat the Scrooge robot.
    • Special mention goes to Scrooge swimming through gold while it's falling, like a salmon swimming upstream.
  • As dark as it seems, F.O.W.L. established themselves as a genuine threat by stealing the Fountain of the Foreverglades, the Lost Harp of Mervana, the Lost Lamp of Collie Baba, and the Solego Circuit.
    • Special mention goes to Steelbeak, who managed to defeat Darkwing Duck even though he is an Adaptational Dumbass in this adaptation.
  • In spite of F.O.W.L.'s victory this episode, the Ducks refuse to back down and are more then ready to stop F.O.W.L. from getting the rest of the mysteries.
    Scrooge: The race is on!

Episode 14: The Split Sword of Swanstantine!
  • Scrooge McDuck and Black Heron fighting evenly for most of the episode.
  • Dewey, despite being blinded by Gandra Dee, is able to essentially parkour his way up to the piece of the sword that he and Webby need.
    • Webby is able to find her footing once she realizes that confidence is the key, culminating with kicking a flash grenade back into Gandra's face while still blind on Dewey's prompting alone.
    Dewey: WEBBY! FRONT KICK NOW!!!'
    Webby: HI-YAH!
  • Apparently, the Duck family's legacy has spread so far and wide that when the criminals find out who Louie is, they are both very impressed and scared.
Rockerduck: Don't you fools know who that is?! It's Louie Duck! They're not notorious criminals, they're just kids!
Crispin: (gasp) Wait... You're the Louie Duck?
    Louie: Um, yeah?
Violet: The very Louie Duck who vanquished the Bombie, overthrew the pharaoh Toth-Ra, and crushed Scrooge McDuck's greatest enemies with a single penstroke!
Louie: Uh... So says Violet Sabrewing, conqueror of the Shadow Realm and scourge of the dread sorceress Magica DeSpell!
    (room erupts into cheers)
Louie: Now you see why we go by fake names?
Violet: Because the truth of us is far more terrifying.
    • Violet defeats Rockerduck by consuming three bowls of spice and manages to suppress any outward effects until the very end to secure their piece.
  • Huey, when he accepts his violent side, and balances it with his rational side, is able to easily and quickly defeat Steelbeak.
    • Lena using her magic to simultaneously stop time and put both herself and Huey into Huey's mindscape.
  • The end result of all the above is that Scrooge willingly hands over the sword pieces to F.O.W.L., knowing full well it will only work for people who are in touch with their inner character and strengths. And for him, that's the rest of his family.
  • A villainous example in that F.O.W.L. achieved another victory this episode. The F.O.W.L. agents' efforts to get the sword were either a side quest or a distraction compared to their real mission: getting a feather, which Black Heron succeeds at.

Episode 15: New Gods on the Block!
  • When the Titan attacks, Selene harnesses the power of the moon and blasts it at the monster like the frickin' Death Star! It doesn't work, but man is that cool!
  • Daisy and the kids defeating the Titan.
    • Bonus points to Daisy for scolding the Titan and actually getting it to freeze.
  • The fact that Hades and the rest of Zeus' siblings were aware of his "retirement" and all think he deserves it.
  • Della calling out Scrooge for unintentionally making the kids feel useless and unwanted, getting him to apologize and tell them how he really feels about them.
  • Karma getting Zeus in the end.

    Episode 16: The First Adventure!
  • Della manages to take control of and land the plane even though her only prior flying experience was with a video game.
  • Donald exploding with rage when he thinks Black Heron tossed Della overboard, giving the villainess what will be his signature beatdown.
  • A villainous example in Bradford using the Papyrus of Binding to escape and erase the Ducks' memory about him being a F.O.W.L. agent.
    • Scrooge gets one right back after the memory wipe; he invites Bradford to a meeting and offers to make him CFO of McDuck Enterprises. Why? He has a subliminal notion that Bradford is important somehow. Even if he couldn't put his finger on it, Scrooge had enough presence of mind to remember to keep Bradford close enough to keep an eye on him.
  • Scrooge hits upon a genius tactic to save Donald and Della's lives—make the Papyrus only be retrievable by Scrooge's "true heir," effectively making the twins immune as long as Black Heron wants the Papyrus.
  • A real life one: Cristina Valenzuela was given the quite intimidating task of replacing the late Russi Taylor as teen Donald, which was itself a copy of her voice for the nephews in the original series. And she pulls it off spectacularly, sounding exactly the same.

Episode 17: The Fight For Castle McDuck!
  • Despite Pepper being a slightly clumsy and ditzy minion, she is surprisingly cunning when she comes up with a logical plan to find the Blessed Bagpipes while evading the McDucks. Even Phantom Blot thought it was a good idea and the two made a formidable team, despite being polar opposites.
    • When cornered by the McDuck statue ancestors, she uses the Blessed Bagpipes to return them back to their inanimate state and would have helped secure another F.O.W.L. victory with Phantom Blot if it weren't for Matilda's emu, which was doing a better job of stopping them than the quarrelling McDucks.
  • The McDucks uniting to defeat the F.O.W.L. agents and break their winning streak for the first time since Bradford was outed. Even though they may quarrel at times, the McDucks stick together and care about each other more than a few petty feuds.

Episode 18: How Santa Stole Christmas!
  • Throughout the episode, Webby blindly follows Scrooge's lead in the latter's feud with Santa Claus. This makes it all the more awesome when she gives Scrooge a dressing down after learning that, not only was it actually him who started the feud out of his own greed, but that he had been tricking her and Santa into believing they were delivering everyone's toys that night when they were actually giving out boxes of coal with invoices, all for the sake of his pride and mere pettiness.
Webby: Who even uses coal anymore except to tell kids they’ve been bad?! How could you ruin Christmas!?
  • Santa's plan on reconciling with Scrooge is brilliant in its simplicity. Fake an injury to convince Scrooge to deliver presents in his place so he can understand the feeling of being generous and giving a gift for free. He just didn't expect Scrooge to be so petty that he'd secretly replace the gifts they were delivering with coal. It still works in the end though.
  • After realizing he was in the wrong, Scrooge comes up with a plan to fix everything: round up the rest of the family and split up to exchange the coal out for the correct gifts. It works perfectly.

Episode 19: Beaks in the Shell!
  • Fenton and Gandra's masterfully faked fight at the beginning of the episode. Even with Huey being there, the two play it up and pass it off so well that Huey doesn't even realize it was faked until he's told.
  • In the case of Offscreen Moment of Awesome, Fenton convinced Gandra to switch sides and has developed a Secret Relationship with her. They're just waiting for the right time for her to leave discreetly because he doesn't want her to get busted. He almost removed one of F.O.W.L.'s greatest assets with The Power of Love.
  • Karma finally catches up to Mark Beaks when it's revealed that a combination of his more unsavory actions and the shoddy craftsmanship of his company's products has left him with very little support from the public.
    Beaks: Ex-cuse you!
Reporter: Waddle sales are tanking, your phones are exploding...
Beaks: I'll have you know that I'm actually working on a top-secret new project...
Reporter: Does it involve stealing the Gizmoduck armor?
    Beaks: Wh-nuh-no!
Reporter: Because you've tried it five times. It's very, very sad.
  • Louie masterfully imitates Huey with ease and makes up a believable Junior Woodchuck quote on the spot. Unfortunately, Fenton's mother sees through the ruse almost immediately and gets him to confess after threatening to reveal Louie's fake charity.
  • Realizing they're trapped, Fenton starts tapping out Morse Code, knowing Huey would understand as a Junior Woodchuck. Huey realizes it, especially when he receives a message to get help from Gyro and Officer Cabrera.
  • Gandra goading Beaks into giving up his enhanced battle suit after insulting his utter lack of creativity and original ideas. Not only does he fall for it, but it leaves him vulnerable for the rest of the group to attack him.
  • Creating the virtual world is such a work of pure genius, that even Gyro is gushing over it (before he composes himself and just says it's fine). Really demonstrates that Fenton and Gandra are among the most brilliant minds on the show.
  • Gyro being completely understanding when he learns Fenton kept the Gizmocloud a secret to protect Gandra. He says he'll help fix the glitches and says she has a job with him.
  • Gandra attempting to leave F.O.W.L. at the end of the episode. Sure, she gets captured, but that has to take guts.
  • The Eggheads not only Zerg Rush Gandra but also confiscate her phone. It means F.O.W.L. can manipulate communications with Gizmoduck or use her as a bargaining chip.
  • Bradford admits he's impressed that Gandra created an entire virtual world with their enemy because that shows genius. For that reason, he's not killing her then and there.

Episode 20: The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker!
  • In spite of everyone saying how bad of a pilot Kit is, he does pull off one impressive flying maneuver. When Don Karnage first attempts to steal the Stone Of What Was, he spins the plane in a circle, causing Don Karnage and his fellow pirates to crash.
  • Della is in top form this episode.
    • She's encouraging of Dewey's flying at the start, even managing to keep his Leeroy Jenkins and Fearless Fool tendencies at bay- until Huey screws it up, anyway.
    • After, she manages to strangle her initial burst of anger to be supportive of Dewey's new dream of cloudkicking, even though it comes as he rather insensitively dismisses her own job of piloting.
    • When she and her kids are attacked by a fierce Rhinokey, she quickly thinks to throw Kit's air board at the beast like a boomerang, which knocks Rhinokey into a rock wall, getting his horn stuck.
    • She manages to wrangle Butterbear and use her as an ally in the fight against Don Karnage, even escaping with the Stone of What Was in their initial confrontation!
  • Once back on his air board, Kit pulls some very impressive "cloud-kicking" maneuvers.
  • Under pressure, Dewey manages to control his desire to be the center of the attention and manages to fly the Sea Duck really smoothly, keeping it straight and not allowing the Stone of What Was to fall off, also rescuing Della in the process.
  • Another villainous one; Don Karnage is just barely able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat- his harpoon shot had caught a piece of the Stone of What Was, meaning that he's still able to fulfill his contract for F.O.W.L. despite how badly this mission went for him. He himself describes it as an "encore."

Episode 21: The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!
  • Louie expertly undermines the prosecution's argument by pointing out that while it is true Scrooge (indirectly) contributed to his enemies' descent into villainy, they were already monsters long before he met them, so the only people they have to blame are themselves. In this episode, Louie Duck was like a young duck version of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

    Episode 22: The Last Adventure!
  • When F.O.W.L. tries to spy on the family using the cameras at Funzo's, Lena, Boyd and Gosalyn all work together to smash them in a matter of seconds.
  • Pepper's managed to climb to the top-most ranks of F.O.W.L. since we last saw her, likely because the Phantom Blot insisted upon it since she's not his minion - she's his partner.
    • Similarly, Don Karnage is shown with the inner circle, no doubt for his retrieval of that lost piece of the Stone of What Was.
  • How did Huey figure out that Funzo's was a front for F.O.W.L.? By listening carefully to Launchpad (whose intelligent side, at the time, was the only one who knew) in his sleep regarding the coordinates.
    • Also a moment of awesome for Launchpad's smarter side as he managed to find a way to get Scrooge and co. the information despite being suppressed by the intelligence ray several episodes prior.
    • Dewey also remembers the layout of F.O.W.L. headquarters from when he and Launchpad were trapped down there, leading everyone to the meeting room once he remembers which door it is.
  • Scrooge tries to stop the kids from boarding the plane, only to have them spell it out for him that each of them have a bone to pick with F.O.W.L.:
Scrooge: Where do you think you're going?
    Dewey: Save it. We're coming.
Gosalyn: Fenton tried to help me get my people back. I'm gonna do the same for him.
Boyd: Huey made me not a killer robot.
    Lena/Violet: It's. WEBBY.
Louie: So are we gonna do that thing where you tell us not to go, and we sneak along anyway?
Dewey: Or are we gonna go get our family back?
Scrooge: (beat) motions them onto the plane
  • Webby managing to capture one of her clones and switch clothes with her so she could infiltrate F.O.W.L.
    • Huey also gets props here for realizing this and as soon as he does, managing to play along.
  • Lena using her magic to make the plane invisible via a cloaking spell.
    • The moment she drops the spell, she collapses unconscious, only waking up later when the plane begins to crash. However, beforehand, she shows no visible evidence of how exhausted she is. It's an impressive amount of resolve to stay calm and in control for her friends until they don't need her protection.
  • Steelbeak used the intelligence ray on himself and becomes an even bigger challenge for the heroes. He even modifies the ray in order to brainwash Magica, Glomgold, Ma Beagle, and the Original Classics Beagle Boys into his mindless slaves.
  • F.O.W.L. managing to capture anyone with a connection to Scrooge, including gods.
  • After Franken-Jeeves incapacitates Scrooge and Donald, Della reveals she has a new emergency weapon. She can take off her prosethetic and transform it into an axe, which she proceeds to use to cut off Jeeves' left arm. She still gets taken down soon after, but she softens him up enough for Beakley to finish him off.
  • Dewey and Don Karnage playing a game of chicken with their planes, with Dewey managing to smash Karnage's plane while he manages to only bust up the Cloud Slayer's wing.
  • It's a small moment, but when Bradford calls her April, Webby firmly tells him that her name is Webby, even when May snaps at her that her name is whatever Bradford says it is because he created her.
  • Lena freeing Manny from his petrification before proceeding to fight Phantom Blot.
  • Manny finally speaking with the voice of Keith David is awesome enough, but then it goes even further when he goes One-Winged Angel and grows a familiar pair of wings, just as a familiar theme song plays. Kudos to the show's crew for slipping in the most Unexpected Character of all from the Disney Afternoon right under the wire.
    Manny: I LIVE AGAIN!... again.
  • Bradford's reasoning for why he won't erase Scrooge from existence: Scrooge's reputation as an adventurer is so great, even his worst enemy knows coming down with a bad case of nonexistence can't stop him.
  • A villainous example: Black Heron quite unexpectedly manages to Face Death with Dignity, fully satisfied at having corrupted Bradford into a Card-Carrying Villain (even to the point that he'd backstab her). Rather than scream or curse Braford, she smiles and compliments Bradford on his treachery as she plunges to her doom. Very bold of her, considering she's about to be erased from existence.
Black Heron: Oh Bradford, how villainous... [disappears]
  • Launchpad putting on the Gizmoduck armor to fight Steelbeak and the brainwashed classic villains after a Heroic Second Wind courtesy of many of the characters who claim to be inspired by him, like Drake, Fenton, Gosalyn, Penumbra, the Rescue Rangers, Storkules and many others. To quote DW, Launchpad truly has the heart of a hero.
Steelbeak: Ho-ho-ho! And what are you supposed to be?
    Launchpad: I'm a pilot.
    • Prior to this, Steelbeak and the brainwashed villains had made quick work of Darkwing, Gizmoduck, Lena, Manny, Violet, and B.O.Y.D. during the skirmish, rapidly capturing all of them and deactivating the Gizmoduck armor. At this point, all the villains are still up and fighting, while Launchpad is the only good guy left. It takes several minutes of concentrated effort from them to put Launchpad down, and even then, the people around him expressing their faith gives him an instant Heroic Second Wind. Adaptational Wimp he might be, but Launchpad's probably still the toughest fighter the McDucks have short of Donald himself.
  • Gandra, Gyro, and Ludwig von Drake managing to shut the Solego vortex down just in time to save Donald from it.
  • Webby leaps in just in time to block a sword strike from Bradford aimed at Scrooge. What does she use? The two halves of Scrooge's cane that were broken earlier in the episode.
    • And of course...this moment afterwards:
Webby: Get away from my dad!
      Scrooge: [gasps] Wait, WHAT!?
  • After transforming into his monstrous One-Winged Angel form, Bradford accuses the family of having turned him into a villain. Della and Beakley aren't having any of that, and even in the middle of fighting him point out the Sword of Swanstantine only amplifies a person's true character, meaning the supervillain it turned him into is all him.
  • Bradford absorbs mystical lightning from the sky to fire a Kamehame Hadouken at Scrooge, who is unable to act or move due to not being allowed to adventure thanks to the contract. All he can do is stand there helplessly and watch his end approaching him. And then Donald lands in between them, singlehandedly using an entire section of broken metal to deflect the beam. He manages to hold it for several seconds, forcing Bradford to up the power to try and overwhelm him. But those precious few seconds are enough for the others to rally and come to Donald's aid.
  • The kids managing to find a loophole in the contract on the Papyrus of Binding in the most DuckTales way possible.
Huey: Bradford, your contract is flawed!
Bradford: What?! Impossible! I worked on it for 30 years! Went over it with the finest-tooth combs!
Louie: According to this, Scrooge can be with his family as long as he doesn't adventure!
Huey: But family is the greatest adventure of all!
Bradford: That's...the Stupidest Thing I've Ever Heard. There's no way that
    [the contract disintegrates]
    Bradford: No! NOOOOOO!
  • Magica DeSpell finishing Bradford by transforming him into a non-sapient vulture as payback for being trapped by him in the library, preceded by Ma Beagle and Glomgold coldly dissing Bradford for thinking he could be Scrooge's greatest bad guy.
    • What really sells the moment is how Magica, who frequently goes off on verbose rants about her desire to destroy her sworn enemies, is completely calm as she casts the spell that robs Bradford of his sentience. No rants, no screams, to the point it's almost like she think's he not good enough to warrant that.
    • Keep in mind that the three of them spent the entirety of the previous episode blaming Scrooge for their actions. They had time to think about it throughout the finale and seemingly accept that it was the other way around and Scrooge only became their enemy, calling out Bradford for still not taking accountability for everything he's done.
    • The sheer the fact that Bradford, who had spent the whole series untouchable, is reduced to begging for his life.
    • For that matter, with Bradford gone, and his lieutenants all either dead or out of the picture, this is the worst defeat F.O.W.L. has ever suffered. In his home series Darkwing Duck was never able to permanently destroy the organization. Scrooge's family did it in one season!
  • It's really easy to overlook because of all of the shocking reveals but Huey Duck really gets to shine throughout this episode. He's the one in charge of the operation to infiltrate F.O.W.L., he's the only kid character that is allowed to be in the war room with the adults, he joins Webby in infiltrating the Lost Library of Isabella Finch, and overall he was a key player in taking down Bradford.
    • What's significant is his build-up to this episode. Remember how the season started? He failed to promote to Senior Woodchuck in favor of Violet, which shows he still had a lot to learn before becoming a leader. Come this episode, not only does he lead the entire team, he also became so much more confident in his abilities. How does the show demonstrate this? He left behind his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook. During the trial to become Senior Woodchuck, he wasn't allowed to use his Guidebook, the one thing he keeps on him at all times, and he was panicking the whole way through. While primarily used in this episode as a way to find Huey, it also show that by the episode's end, he's well on his way to becoming a Senior Woodchuck.
  • One of the last moments of the episode has Scrooge worrying about the kids safety due to the particularly bad state the Cloud Slayer is in. The kids' response?
Huey: You don't have to worry about us, Uncle Scrooge. We're smarter.
    Dewey: We're tougher.
    Louie: We're sharper.
Webby: And we'll earn our way square.
Scrooge: Couldn't have said it better myself.
