Moments subpages are Spoilers Off.

  • Chapter 1: Senshi saves Marcille by making a single cut to the slime that was suffocating her. Laios is suitably impressed but Senshi just casually says it's easy when you know a slime's anatomy. Slimes are completely transparent, by the way. So he did it without any visual clues.
  • Chapter 2: Laios kills the Man-Eating Plant that's captured Marcille with one blow by slicing through its root with his sword.
  • Chapter 3: Senshi and Laios fight the basilisk together and, once again, kill it with one blow when Senshi hacks off its (snake) head with his axe.
  • Chapters 6/7: Laios vs the Living Armor Queen for a number of reasons. First, it's the first time in the series that a battle against a monster isn't a Curb-Stomp Battle in the heroes' favor: it's a drag-out one-on-one fight. Second, it really demonstrates how freaking smart Laios is, with him quickly breaking down the armor's behavior and coming up with countermeasures on the fly. Thirdly, Laios makes adventuring history by uncovering the secret behind Living Armors: they're not simply empty husks controlled by magic, but rather colonies of mollusks that yes, can be eaten.
  • Chapter 8: The fact Senshi is using three golems, strong and dangerous magical creatures, as vegetable patches. When he needs to tend them, he takes all three down with just a shovel. Senshi truly is a Chef of Iron.
  • Chapter 9: During an increasingly tense chapter involving orcs capturing the party and keeping them in a corral, followed by several very ugly shouting matches between Zon and Marcille, Senshi makes bread that Zon intends on keeping for the orcs and denying the party anything to eat, much to the confusion of Zon's young son who asks why they can't share with the party if they all made it together. Cue Marcille, who just moments ago was having intense arguments with Zon that showed racial hatred between them, telling the child that his father simply meant they had to wait until ALL the food was ready because bread alone wasn't a full meal, all with a lovely smile on her face. Not only does this help preserve the boy's innocence, it works in getting Zon to back down!
  • Chapter 11: Senshi not only making a jar of holy water on the fly but also using it to drive away a roomful of spirits that were possessing the others. In the process, he makes sorbet.
  • Chapter 13: Chilchuck killing a huge mimic (basically his bane) while trapped in a room with it, alone and with no weapons except his wits.
  • Chapter 16: Marcille hatches a plan with Senshi to fight against an oversized kraken they've encountered on the fourth level. Said plan involves Marcille golfclubbing it out of the water by casting water walk on it; Senshi seizes the moment of disorientation to stab it in the brain with a trident, killing it instantly.
  • Chapter 25: The Red Dragon is finally slain! Senshi barely survives stomped by the Dragon, distracting it long enough for Chilchuck to retrieve a mithril knife and throw it at the Dragon's left eye, gouging it. Laios regroups with Marcille, and with her help, is able to blindside it and latch on, and after surviving the subsequent rodeo, he then purposely has it bite down on one leg, allowing him to hang from its mouth and pierce the Dragon's soft throat before slashing it open! He pays for it with his leg, but as far as he cared, it's nothing compared to what his sister went through.
  • Chapter 26: A flashback shows the first time Falin banished a spirit was when she was just a little girl. She saved Laios when it possessed him and told the other villagers how to free it so it could pass on. Laios tells her later how amazing she is.
  • Chapter 27: Marcille managing to bring Falin back to life under the most difficult circumstances possible. The bones were all jumbled and mixed up with warg bones, they didn't have the usual goat or pig meat, only dragon, and Falin's soul was so close to breaking away from her body that even moving her was risky. All that against her, and Marcille still did it. She still brought Falin back.
  • Chapter 28: After twenty-eight chapters, Senshi finally gets to live his dream and cook Red Dragon. And of course, it's delicious.
  • Chapter 29: Marcille managing to dispel the Lunatic Magician's creations. Considering how powerful the Magician is, it's an incredible feat. Even the Lunatic Magician himself is surprised.
  • Chapter 31: Senshi and Chilchuck defeating a group of dryads while completely blinded by hayfever caused by their pollen. Chilchuck rides on Senshi's back and uses the movement of the air around them to tell Senshi where to strike.
  • Chapter 33: Shuro's party taking down a sea serpent with ridiculous ease. Topped off by Shuro cutting off its head with a single slice of his sword.
  • Chapter 38: Laios punching Shuro to the ground and giving him a grand "The Reason You Suck" Speech about how not taking care of himself is helping absolutely no one.
  • Chapter 40: Laios not only correctly deduces which of his friends are real (and it's heavily implied that the illusions were based on his memories in the first place), but he also finds out who is controlling the illusions and baits them out of hiding.
  • Chapter 41: Senshi giving Izutsumi a lesson in table manners while battling a yamanba. He even ties the lesson, on the correct use of tools, to the way he beats the thing. Senshi truly is the definition of Crazy Is Cool.
  • Chapter 42:
    • Laios realizing he's dreaming and squashing the nightmares with the griffon-chimera, "Cool Monster" thing he imagined all those issues ago. It's at once awesome and hilarious.
    • After dream!Laios gives a pep talk to dream!Marcille about not being afraid that she'll outlive her friends and that she is an amazing mage capable of great things, dream!Marcille grabs the Lunatic Magician's eldritch tome...and smacks her nightmare monster with it, causing it to explode, destroying her insecurity on the spot.
  • Chapter 43: We finally get to see Izutsumi fight. She practically solos an ice golem that immediately took Senshi, Marcille, and Laios out of the fight. She spends most of the fight simply dodging around all of the golem's attacks, trying to find some way to harm it, before Chilchuck opens up a weak point for Izutsumi to exploit, which she immediately does, felling the great creature.
  • Chapter 48: Not only does Marcille use her analytical skills to figure out how to defeat the griffon after getting a tip from Laios about aerodynamics, she weaponizes a spell that is generally never weaponized. She manages to make a familiar fast and evasive enough to not only outspeed and dodge a griffon, but pierce its wing, allowing Laios to get the killing blow when the griffon falls to the ground.
  • Chapter 49: Laios deducing the true nature of the "dwarven meat" Senshi thought he ate. His keen knowledge of monsters as well as his powers of observation, finally put to rest the fear that had haunted Senshi for years.
  • Chapter 55: Captain Mithrun manages to single-handedly beat the Mad Sorcerer, only requiring another Canary's help to trap him in the room and Kabru's help to point the Mad Sorcerer out. In a straight fight the Mad Sorcerer can't even get a single hit in before being overwhelmed completely. And even better, this was all a part of Mithrun's plan; he had enough experience fighting dungeon masters like the Mad Sorcerer to know he'd come and check on what was going on at the top of the dungeon if he made a big enough ruckus, thus depriving the Mad Sorcerer and his chimera Falin of the mana they needed to operate properly. The only hitch was Kabru balking at the last moment and distracting Mithrun from finishing the job.
  • Chapter 65: It crosses over into Creepy Awesome territory, but Marcille manages to completely invalidate quite possibly the greatest threat in the entire dungeon on her own. The Killer Rabbit army the party is up against is nigh unstoppable, but also only has the mental faculties of actual rabbits; they can't recognize the difference between dead and alive when creatures are moving. Abusing this, Marcille creates an undead army out of her allies and the rabbits she hunts down, functionally playing Pikmin with the corpses of her friends, trivializing the creatures that had just finished killing the male half of the party.
    • Accolades must be given to Izutsumi as well, who managed to kill three of the Dungeon Rabbits with nothing but pure skill, athleticism, and kunai. Her bestial instincts take over as she's pushed to the brink by the rabbits and is found with one dead in her mouth. She only meets her end when she drops out of a tree into a zombie Laios's arms, the surprise combined with the stress of the situation causes her to finally die of shock.
  • Chapter 70: Alone and without his trademark armor, Laios manages to outwit Thistle and overcome his dragons with nothing but his monster knowledge, quick wit, and suicidal bravery (along with the healing magic he's learned from Marcille). Instead of beating or killing Thistle, however, Laios ends the conflict by restraining the Mad Sorcerer and convincing him to simply talk things out over a meal.
  • Chapter 75: While it doesn't accomplish much due to the nature of his opponent, Captain Mithrun squaring off against the Winged Lion as soon as it manifests shows just how quickly he could turn anything else into mincemeat if the need arose. He uses his teleportation and physical dexterity to impale, behead, and dismember the creature using completely innocuous items like paintings and his own cloak in what would probably be seconds in-universe. Even when he's ultimately subdued, there's still something awesome about his ability to teleport just before being splattered against a wall and then, at some point off page, manage to take down one of the giant spiders that manifested before finally running out of mana.
  • Chapter 85: Mixed with Heartwarming, Laios and Co. get through to Marcille and convince her to stop fighting everyone in the dungeon. Then they hug.
  • Chapter 91: Laios defeats the Winged Lion by tricking it into giving him the ability to eat desires when it turned him into his ideal monster. With this ability, Laios consumes the Winged Lion’s desires, removing its desire to eat. As is later pointed out in preparations for the final meal, his actions have the makings of a kingmaker myth—and it pretty much is, since he's now the number one candidate for king of the island.
  • Chapter 96: Now taking his new position as king of the Golden Kingdom more seriously, Laios confronts the Elf delegation directly, flat out telling them that he doesn't intend to hand over Marcille to them and will keep her in his court as an advisor on ancient magic. When the Elves protest, Laios mentions he'll be willing to reconsider if the Elves tell him everything they know about ancient magic, demons, and dungeons, otherwise he can't make an informed decision. This puts the Elves in the tough position of letting Marcille go or giving away their most coveted secrets that give them leverage over the other races. The Elf Queen then intervenes and allows Marcille to stay, impressed with Laios' guts and guile. Laios basically faced down the most powerful race in the world and the Elves blinked first.
