The notoriety Conor gets from this incident also gives him an excuse to leave his Dead End Job and do more meaningful work as an online activist.

- Despite not being related by blood, Mrs. Lee's Mama Bear instincts for Simon are genuine when she realizes how abusive his stepmother is. She insists that he stay in her household much to Conor's delight.
- It flares up again in chapter 80 where the local reverend publicly condemns Simon for being a homosexual. Although Mrs. Lee had angrily blamed Simon for seducing Conor in the past, his Heroic Sacrifice and Conor's anguish causes her to give the reverend both a slap and a biting resignation speech. Doubles as a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming when she refers to Simon as her son again.
- For all his resentment towards Simon, Gale saving him from an assassin's knife is both unexpected and awesome. He also sends in evidence that clears his brother's name and leads to Talen confessing to his crimes.
- Jan Krakow being an awesome exception to the Police Are Useless trope in this story. Not only does this man refuse to let his partner's personal biases cloud him from the truth, he also helps Conor resolve Simon's case by simply being as objective and understanding as he can be. He even gives Gale a run for his money when it comes to Good Old Fisticuffs.
- While confronting Veronica over her fake pregnancy wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do, it doesn't take away the impressiveness that Simon of all people saw right through the farce and gathered evidence that confirmed his suspicions.
- Another impressive moment following that is Conor no-selling Veronica's Gaslighting and grilling her for Simon's location.
- Even if you don't sympathize with Talen for wanting to eradicate the W.A.F. at all costs, him verbally reaming one of their younger members to the point of tears counts as his shining moment.
