Inspector Chingum is a Spin-Off of the Indian cartoon Motu Patlu that was originally released on Amazon Prime Video India on April 27th, 2018 before being picked up by Disney India's Hungama TV channel in 2019.

The series focuses on Motu Patlu character Inspector Chingum, who moves to Shantiwood to fight various supervillains created by No Baal, the owner of Crime Academy.

"It's impossible to escape from Inspector Chingum's tropes! Impossible!":

  • Actionized Adaptation: While the original series isn't exactly a stranger to action scenes every now and then, there's more of an action focus in this spin-off with Inspector Chingum regularly facing off against villains in each episode.
  • Bald of Evil: The villain No Baal is bald.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: No Baal has three minions who wear color-coordinated clothes (one wears red, one wears blue, and one wears green).
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: No Baal has no hair. His name is literally "no hair"; "hair" is "baal" in Hindi.
  • Gratuitous English: No Baal's name is a combination of Hindi and English. "Baal" means "hair" in Hindi, and No Baal has a bald of evil; "no hair".
  • Instant Flight: Just Add Spinning!: In episode 3, Inspector Chingum spins his staff around and uses it as a propeller to fly around and catch up with the supervillain, who is using a jetpack.
  • Market-Based Title: Since Inspector Chingum is known as Inspector Lucky in the original show's Sinhalese dub, this spin-off is retitled Inspector Lucky for its Sinhalese dub.
  • Mock Hollywood Sign: Shantiwood has a big sign saying "SHANTIWOOD" in the style of the Hollywood sign.
  • Multiple Head Case: Raavan, the supervillain whom Chingum has to fight in the first episode, has multiple heads that form a row connecting to either side of the one head that's actually connected to the rest of his body.
  • Once per Episode: Superstar Chocolate, an in-universe musician, sings a song in every episode, often to progress the plot of the episode such as having him sing the song when Inspector Chingum goes to defeat and capture a villain.
  • Protagonist Title: The title refers to the main character, Inspector Chingum.
  • Spin-Off: Of Motu Patlu.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: What little hair the antagonist No Baal does have, specifically his mustache and eyebrows, is white.
