While this story is mostly a romance, many times, Danny and other characters encounter people whose interests they do not
reciprocate.
The Many Dates of Danny Fenton
- Meg Griffin for Tucker. She becomes extremely obsessive to the point of hacking the dating website to make sure he doesn't reject her.
- Katie Kaboom for Danny. He does find her attractive but then discovers her turning into a near-unstoppable monster when she's angry. He spends the entire date making sure she's happy to avoid her rampant destruction, and, unfortunately for him, Katie is quickly smitten with him as a result.
- Dash Baxter is this to both Jen Masterson and Katie Kaboom. Both girls admit they would normally be attracted to someone with Dash's looks and quarterback status, but his rude attitude and harassing Danny caused them to dislike him. Dash was also to this to Kim Possible in the ending where Danny choose her. Fortunately, her martial arts prowess gave him the hint to stay away.
TMDDF: Danny and Kara
- Dash considers hitting on Kara, but she expresses her disgust with bullies.
- Deadpool has become a rather unwanted admirer of Wonder Woman to the point of breaking into the Justice League headquarters for her number.
TMDDF: After Many Dates: Danny and Kim
- As said in the main story, Dash repeatedly hits on Kim. She does not return his interest as he bullies her boyfriend.
- Camille Leon becomes this to Danny as well. She has a huge crush on Danny Phantom and flirts with him whenever she can. Not only is he already in a relationship when they meet, he also finds her extremely annoying. Even into adulthood, Camille sends Danny love letters about having a kid together, causing him to burn them before even opening them anymore.
- Princess Mandie arrives in Chapter 56, wanting Danny Phantom as a mate after observing how powerful he is. He's already in a committed relationship with Kim, and Mandie's ruthlessness, lack of caring for his relationship, and hostility to Danielle made him reject her instantly.
- Played With regarding Veronica "Ronnie" Stoppable" to Danny Fenton Jr.. They are indeed friends and he cares for her, but only platonically. After she started kissing him and insisting they're a couple, he gets increasingly uncomfortable around her.
TMDDF: Danny Chooses Alex After the Many Dates
- Tucker to Clover, Britney, and Samantha. Clover is not into nerds, and Tucker only manages to get a pity date with her by pretending to be a vegetarian. Clover told him he didn't need to pretend to be a vegetarian to impress her and then made it clear that he disgusted her and how she thought Tucker was pathetic by him trying to appease her. When Tucker learns of the spies' secret identities and is offered a chance to join the team, he hits on Britney, who is not impressed and glad he failed the test and was mindwiped to forget their secret. And while they don't interact as much as Britney and Clover, Tucker flirts with Samantha, who rejects him. In chapter 12, when Tucker was rejected to go to the prom with Clover, and he asks her to see if Samantha would go with him, Samantha told Clover she said no. In chapter 27 when Tucker tries to use his come-on lines to the girls when their secret was revealed again, Clover, Britney, and Samantha said they vote to have him mindwipe again. Later, when the girl's boss, Jerry, considers hiring him, Britney tells him just to keep Tucker away from her.
- Dale to Alex. When Clover tries to set Alex up on a date with Dale, Alex gently tells him that she already chose Danny, but had she meet him before, she would have given him a chance. When Dale angrily blames Danny, Alex promptly says he destroyed any chances she would have given him. Later at the Nasty Burger when Danny was having lunch with Clover, Samantha, and Alex, and Dale tries to push him away so he can sit with the girls, Alex beats him up and makes him leave.
