Because there’s no better place to begin our journey than with the one that started it all, as well as the fairest of them all…or the most obnoxious of all, depending on who you ask.
It seems that whenever people want to complain about the princesses, poor little Snow White is almost always a prime target. She’s so bland! She looks weird! She doesn’t do anything!
I’ve seen most of Snow White’s movie, and I can say without shame that I’m rather fond of her. She’s cute, kind, an optimist, is capable of taking matters into her own hands and even comes with a bit of a mischievous streak. But we’ll get to that later.
The point is, Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs was Disney’s first feature-length film as well as the first princess film. The company hasn’t exactly faded into irrelevance since then, so they must’ve done something right the first time out.
