I'm on Mars. This is where those spiders came from that one time, right?

Cerberus mooks! Executing people! Assholes. Oh well, they're dead now.

Kaidan wonders if there's any connection between Cerberus being here right when I arrive. And I don't blame him for being suspicious. If they're shooting prisoners then this is not the kinder, gentler-seeming Cerberus I worked for. I'm patient with him. He'll realize I'm not with Cerberus any more, eventually. And Vega tells him that I've been monitored since I got back to Earth, so there was no way I could've been in contact with them without the Alliance military learning of it.

So there's Liara, and it looked like she'd need rescuing but SURPRISE! She took care of those guys chasing her all on her own. I'm looking forward to hear how she went from being the Shadow Broker to...doing something...here...but the important thing is that she might have found a way to kill the Reapers! One of the dialogue choices is that it seems too good to be true, and it does.

Oh for FUCK'S sake James, are you going to question every order I give you?! And right after you earned a point or two with me for not assuming I was Cerberus! Look buddy, not every order should be followed blindly, but sometimes there's simply no time to argue about these things. If I fuck up and give you a disastrous order that only a moron would give, feel free to call me out on it later when people are not shooting at us, okay? But now is not the time. If we waste too much time talking, we will make wonderful targets for those guys. If you can't trust me to make the right decisions, there's no way we can work together effectively.

I have no military experience or anything, but this seems like a no-brainer.

Hahaha, just spamming Pull and levitating those dicks shooting at us off the catwalk, making them either fall to their deaths or do their best impression of clay pigeons. Fun.

Hmm, I can do sneaky stealth kills. It's no Arkham game, but it looks like it could be enjoyable. Well, not for the mooks, obviously.

Ah shit, the storm! I forgot there was a storm coming. Okay, working against the clock here. Well, maybe just as far as the story's concerned, but still.

So me, Liara, and Kaidan saw security footage of this doctor who just recently began working at this facility, lady named Eva Core (pronounced "Cor-Ay") sneaking around. And now we find that an airlock has been opened, and it shouldn't be, and the only way to open it is if you override security protocols. Sure looks like Dr. Core was up to no good, but let's wait and see.

Crap, somebody just let all the air out of the cafeteria and let everybody suffocate? There are worse ways to die, I guess, but still, damn. Kaidan says they seem to have died while trying to claw their way out.

Just found a datapad with a message from somebody claiming that Dr. Core was screwing around and messing up files. The circumstantial evidence is piling up...

Upon seeing the drink machines, I am suddenly overcome with a craving for a nice, refreshing gulp of Tupari!

Heh, that was fun. I just used my assault rifle to mow down a bunch of Ceberus guys on the other side of some glass with cryo ammo so that the ones who didn't die immediately got frozen in place, then I used biotic Charge to make myself rocket through the window and shatter the frozen guys, leaving only one alive. He died quickly. I don't think I even needed my squadmates' help for that one. Awesome stuff.

More security footage, and this shows Dr. Core shooting a co-worker in the back of the head. Well, guess she's guilty. But why is Cerberus going to all this trouble? Last time I saw the Illusive Man he seemed to realize that it would be stupid for people to fight one another with the Reaper threat coming, and yet here his operatives are, fighting people they ought to be allying with.

"Don't let it target you!" Good advice, Alenko, thanks.

Oh FUCK. Cerberus is, it looks like, turning their own people into husk-like...things? It's a good thing I quit, I guess! But it raises questions about whether the Illusive Man arranged for bad things to be done to my body when he brought me back from the dead. I know that Miranda told me that she wanted to put some kind of control chip in me and he shot it down because they wanted me back exactly the way I was, but that didn't stop them from giving my cybernetic upgrades and shit. What else could they have "upgraded" that I don't know about?

Shepard just got on the radio to the Ceberus guys and asked for help and they bought it, apparently. No asking for a password or code name or anything. Maybe turning them into husk things makes them stupider than usual?

Ugh, this fight against lots of Cerberus troops at the end of the tram line is pissing me off. I played the second game on Veteran difficulty, which was one level above Normal and one below Hardcore. In this game, though, it goes right from Normal to Hardcore and I thought "Okay, I'll try it on Hardcore, what's the worst that could happen?" Well, fights like this with enemies that take too long to die and do too much damage, I guess.

YES! Finally did it! Damn Guardians and grenades...

Had to go through some long cutscenes before I had time to write anything, but now that I do, allow me to say: fuck you, Illusive Man.

And who was that with him? Was that Thane? Or just somebody with a coat like Thane's?

Kaidan's hurt and...no doctor on board? We have to go all the way to the Citadel from Mars to get him tended to? Where the fuck is Chakwas?

Well, that's what we did. I'm on the Citadel again, and that's where I'm saving and stopping, for now.
