In which I annoy my teammates for wandering around

Now we are allowed to head out into the town and to the hospital! What should we do? This does seem like a time-important thing, injuries and all. Should we head over immeditly and make sure we don't have any lasting effects from our trip to the border of the mind?

NOPE! Let's wander around the school and town to seek info and sidequesty stuff!

First is the bottom floor, Class 1-6 gives us a guy raving about casinos. Personally, I'm a blackjack person but I don't think they have that here. Just one more game...moving over to the gym, right after getting a stern lecture from the Vice Princpal Hanya (resident Jerkass teacher) about using a hole in the wall for an exit, we head to the Gym/club area. I got a hot scoop about the gym having items but it doesn't seem to be that time yet. Heading into the Drama club reveals that the club doesn't seem to know what play to put on. One member suggest the school's play but is shot down. Hmmm...I wonder why. The Fencing club has a problem though. It's been vandalized! Pictures of nubile young women are posted on the walls and some sort of writing is on the wall opposite. The culprit appears to be Author Avatar Tadashi and he is getting a chewing out by our Previous Player-Character Cameo Tamaki. It appears that they are always like this, arguing over stuff. Moving along. A trip to the Ballet Club reveals that Yukino has a soft spot for ballet. Underneath that tough-girl exterior, there is a woman underneath.

Back into the main hall, we find out an interesting tidbit that a company named SEBEC has built their headquarters over what was once a "haunted" mansion. It appears to have been a place where the kids played at with Mark reminiscing on it.This appears to be one of the many problems plaguing SEBEC as Nanjo states that their popularity is at an all-time low. The Teacher's Lounge gives us a little tidbit that someone is coming in and out of the open room on the second floor and I am suspected of it! What! Nat is not that type of guy! Yukino also points out that Elly, Yuka and Brown weren't shocked and that they have played the Persona game before so maybe that has something to do with it? Hmm. In the Courtyard, we find our Princpal, Ms. Ooishi is taking a walk and praying for her students. Nice lady. Much better than our Vice Principal. Ah, but we earn the remark from Yukino that she works part-time and wants this to be done and over with. Interesting.

Up to the Second floor. We find our empty classroom! And this Reiji fellow. Though he leaves in a rush. The loner must be left alone! Yukino states that he was transferred when the building for SEBEC was completed. Hmm. We then find out in another room that Yosuke (no not that one) seems to have vanished off with his girlfriend Chisato, who is...not well beloved by people. Nanjo states that he though Chisato was dating Yosuke for the attention and one of the girls remarks that Yosuke was good friends with Maki. Hmmm. In the cafeteria, we meet a guy named Kenta Yokouchi, known as Toro, who seems to have a crush on Yuka. He was rejected by her though. We also find a meek girl named Yuko Himeno who asks us to tell Maki she'll be returning the book she borrowed soon after she reads it again, which appears to be called "Gate to Paradise." Nanjo asks why she doesn't just buy it and gets a tongue lashing from Yukino that Yuka works part-time to support her family. Poor, poor Yuko.

On the third floor, we can conjecture that by an argument from a couple that our school nurse is a bad cook. -sigh- And so the running gag of Lethal Chef beings. In the libary, there is a strange occult loving classmate named Tsutomu Kurouri, known simply as Devil-Boy. He seems to be wrong alot of the time though. And is picked on by others. Also, the student council president is a jerk. The art club reveals that Maki and Chisato are members but, of course, they haven't been seen in awhile. And Maki is a good artist, winning awards for her artwork.

And so we have explored all this school has to offer. After a quick save, we head on outside. The enterence hall has Mark and Nanjo bickering with Yukino having little of it. At the gates, we find a butler waiting for the "young master" Kei Nanjo. His name being Yamaoka and he is the one who looked after Nanjo. He seems quite happy to see Nanjo with a group of friends. Though Mark, of course takes the opportunity to poke fun at him. Yamaonka then asks Nanjo if he is going out with his "chums." Ahahahahaha! Oh my! Hehehehehehe. Poor Nanjo. Getting humiliated with his overprotective butler.

Anyway, town map. The city is devided into six parts, like this:

The school is located on the bottom left corner, along with a mansion, Yuko's house and an convenience store. Me being the poking person I am, we head to everything. The mansion is owned by a batty old rich lady named Katsue Kaneda who buys everything and anything that is expensive. After getting an earful of the worth of her treasure we head out. Alaya Shrine is nearby and while we can't enter yet, Yukino points out that evidently "The god dwelling within people's souls is enshrined here." Hmm. A run up to the Convience Store named Yin&Yan actually reveals to us that this is where Yukino works. Looking at the selection of what the store offers, it appears to be one of our medicine stores. Well, all I need is SP restoring stuff and I'll be good. Talking to Yukino reveals that she's saving up to study photography aboard. Good for her!

We head up north and into the Sun Mall. The first shop we enter is actually a save point and not wanting to not take advantage of it, we save. The next store is Sennen Mannen-Do, which appears to be a sweet shop, which does have ailment healing sweets. Right next door is the Peace Diner, which exists as for remembering what you are doing if you get sidetracked. I remember well that we are going to the hospital though! Our teammates won't quit talking about it! Next is Rosa Candida, where our arm-oh hello Mark's Mom! It's time for your allotment of embarssing situations Mark! -giggles- Poor Massie. -chuckles- Next store...oh god that music is going to get stuck in my brain! It already is for Nanjo though. It appears that this is the store Tadashi's father runs and it's for medicine. And it appears that he really likes Tamaki. Err...anyway, this is our traditional store for medicine. Revival Bead's and Bead's shall be up there on our list of stuff to buy. Judgment 1999 is our local casino. Wait...they do have Blackjack! WHEEEEE! Uh...let's get our talking around out of the way first. And right next door is everyone's favorite Velvet Room! It seems to be closed right now though.

A small walk north is the Police Station. It seems that Mark is a reformed "punk" and is on good terms with the police captian.

South and East leads us to the Joy Mall. The clinic in the mall reveals that Yukino also played in the old mansion. And I'm thinking that Nat did once as well, eons ago. The casino here is filled with Mark's "friends" and they seem to know of a guy who hangs out at an abandonded factory. Hmm. At the Yin&Yan store, we find Reiji's mother who asks us if we know him and if we can be his friends? Sure and sure madam! And here is the Peace Diner that Mark owes us a all-you-can-eat from. He says he's broke though. Not to mention that the register doesn't seem to be working. So why is it open then?

And here is the building that is known as SEBEC's. We run into a beefy guy who tells us to get out only to find...Kandori! Who is followed by creepy music. He seems to have a connection with the "scion to the Nanjo group." I smell trouble from this guy, the music says so.

Anyway, one run south runs us by the Abandoned Factory, where we find a certain Reiji. Who threatens us to stay away or else we shall die! Hmmm.

And on that note, we end our part! Next time we shall go to the hospital, I swear! (Even if I get distracted further more by the blackjack) As always, tips are appreciated and I shall see you all next time!

You didn't talk to Reiji's mom twice did you? If you did, you can't recruit Reiji. Of course, I want to say she says something that makes it clear (like saying "Oh, never mind, don't worry about Reiji" or something, but I never did it)

Don't worry about the gambling. I completely ignored it and made it through the game just fine. I think, at most, there are a few totems as prizes.

...What are totems? When the Velvet Room becomes unlocked (which is, for SEBEC, during the third dungeon I want to say? Could be the fourth. After the first boss.) you can fuse Personas using the spell cards you get from demons. Totems are things you can add to the fusion to make specific Personas that can't be gained in any other way. You get the Ultimates this way much later in the game, but you can also regain the Initials if you find their totems and can fuse fun stuff like Lucifer, Satan, Brahma, Nyarlathotep and so on.

I still find Blackjack fun so I will play on occasion. And yes, there are weapons for prizes but I can manage without them.

-laughs at fusing Nyarlathotep- Oh the irony!

Only Reiji can actually use him. This makes it doubly interesting, because Nyarly in this game is the Persona of Reiji's hated half brother.

...Are we hiding who the villain is? You already hinted at it not so subtly. And the game reveals it almost instantly after the first dungeon.

Hide it for now. There are some people who are unspoilered among us. But I was more thinking of Narly's role in Persona 2 but that is an interesting tidbit as well.

Just in case spoilers get out of hand, I'd like to remind everyone that the tedious and roundabout method of editing a comment is to go to the main Liveblog select screen, click on the number of comments your liveblog of choice has in total, and then find which comment of yours you would like to edit. Here's a quick link to all of this Liveblog's comments, by the way.

Getting back to the main matter, I found the casino to be quite handy when preparing for the Snow Queen plot, since you need every advantage you can get if you want every character to end up as excellent. And as for your continued progress in whatever path you choose, keep it up, because we're all rooting for you!
