Go To

Finale: Phoenix of Redemption

(Fade in, and we see what happened the last time we left off: all the All-Stars have fallen. Radiguet coldly smiles)

Radiguet: Yes...I have won. The All-Stars may be strong, but I'm better.

(in the room, Rika is shaking)

Rika: Oh, God...that means I'm next!

Tranza: ...please...I hope Emperor Radiguet won't...

(he is just crouching down, hoping for the best)

(then, on the screen, Radiguet turns to Rika)

Radiguet: This is what's going to happen to you, Rika...I'd love to take you down. My plan to make you the queen may have failed, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to kill you.

Let's just say that the Eldritch, and you by proxy, will suffer the consequences. The consequences for dealing with the god for humanity.

(Rika notices something...something in the background)

Rika: Uh...

Radiguet: Oh, you don't get it? That's a shame. I'm coming for you next, Rika. And as for you, Tranza...

(...at this point, the All-Stars are starting to stir!)

Rika: ...you might want to rethink your plans, buddy.

Radiguet: ...

(Radiguet turns around, and he finds the All-Stars standing up, as weak as they are, though)

Ryota: ...ugh...w...

Radiguet: WHAT?! How did they survive?

Mao (offscreen): Did you really think we're actually dead?

Mako: Yeah! We saw the All-Stars in the nick of time, and with our powers, creating a barrier to endure them...

Dan: We saved them.

Jason: ...those voices...they sound familiar!

Radiguet: No. The Scouts...they're still dead. They're likely ghosts, but—

(then this song plays as the rest of the Legendary Rangers speak)

Xander: Sorry, mate, but we're now your worst nightmares!

Tori: You will pay for what you did to us! And to our friends!

(and then...a combined attack of all elementals—a flamethrower-esque attack, a jet stream, a Solarbeam, an energy-based attack, and a powerful Razor Wind—with Mao's Gokai Gun's beam strikes Radiguet, knocking him down to the ground. At that moment, the Legendary Rangers are revealed: Tori, Xander, Mao, Dan, Mako, and Sean!)

Alex: What?

Ryota: T-they're alive!

(in the room, Rika notices the revived Rangers, and she makes a squee, hugging Tranza hard. The former villain is taken aback at the sudden hug, but he hugs her back)

(with Radiguet...)

(most of the Legendary Rangers transform into their respective forms, except for Sean, who just calmly rolls up his sleeves. His crimson cape moves with him, and the man smiles)

Sean: Let's show this asshole who he's dealing with. Legendary Rangers, let's make this quite the show! ATTACK!

(...and so, the Rangers attack Radiguet. The villain tries hard to counter the attacks, but he finds himself beaten in every turn. Mao and Radiguet engage in a swordfight, only for Dan to find the perfect moment to strike at the Vyram with an Energy Rush, a fast-paced attack where he tackles his enemy. Xander executes a more powerful version of the Rock Slide attack, stunning the enemy.)

(Mako, in her Super Shinken Pink form, swiftly slashes Radiguet with the Super Shinkenmaru, though he counters it in the last slash. Tori shoots a waterball at Radiguet, knocking him down. In a fit of rage, he then sees Sean preparing a fireball attack, and he tries to use a lightning attack, but the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger dodges it quickly, and he fires the attack right in Radiguet's face)

Radiguet: GAH! (he pants in anger)

Mako: G-guys? (she looks at the All-Stars)

Christopher: Oh, hell to the fucking yes! How did you even survive?! (is completely overjoyed)

Mao: It's a long story. We'll talk about this later. Right now, we need to strike against Radiguet, and defeat him once and for all.

Rika (through the screen): Guys...good luck.

(the All-Stars and the Legendary Rangers look at Rika, puzzled)

I know you can defeat Radiguet. I'm not one for sappy-ass speeches, but since you guys suffered through a lot of shit, apparentally...kick his ass hard. Make him fear you.

(she nods)

We all started this party. Now it's time to shut it down!

(she ends the transmission)

Brittany: Was that...?

Jason: Yep, that's Rika, alright! But why is she a monster?

(then Radiguet is trying to concentrate...)

Radiguet: <The plan to kill the Scouts...failed. Having Rika become the Ultimate Evil's new host, failed! Killing the All-Stars, failed!>

(he is really seething inside, not one who tolerates failure...especially with this Epic Fail, everything crashing down around him)

Tranza: R-Rika...

Rika: Seriously, I'm very glad everything's working out for the better! I think it's time to end it all.

So! Previously! We started the Jetman "tribute", the Extra Heroes and Cole are crucified—seriously, the Shinkengers and Kimberly were captured, and sucky times were had by all!

You know, for a series that claims to put an end to the fan wars, it's really doing a terrible job at it. You have to write each character with the respect and dignity they deserve, especially characters you hate—I mean, you could have always not used them! And if you have to be inspired by other plots, for the love of God, make them stand on their own as well! Maybe add a twist—a good twist, not one that you feel like it.

But I'll save my analysis for much later. Right now, let's pull out the stops with...!

(flip!)

Chapter 35: Phoenix of Redemption, and despite the bad shit that's happening, the one thing I can concede is that the chapter's title is very cool.

Too bad this chapter won't reach the same level.

It begins with news reports everywhere talking about RINO's "conquest". Oh, and it gets better. It's also showing that, I shit you not, his "brain damage" isn't slowing him down.

...

(Rika exhales)

Remember when I spoke about Alyx Grayson's past several installments ago? I mean, yeah, when he was revived, he did act like a curious child, but that's only because the revival failed, since he was sent to a living body instead of a dead one. His memories were lost, too. But when he regained his memories, he became more mature as a result. And yeah, even though he had his childish moments, I certainly didn't make him out to have fucking brain damage from when he was dead and revived!

Nor did I even say that he even had it.

Here, RINO never recovers; instead, the whole "drunk with power" thing is written off as something stupid and insulting...gah. Really, why would you even do that? And you do realize that there may be people out there who do have mental problems? That might be reading this?

At the New Skybase, the Jetmen are being assembled. You know, now that I think about it, when was the last time every single one of them rejoined like this?

(Rika takes a look back)

...a long time ago, perhaps Chapter 2 at the most? With the focus mostly on J!Gai, J!Ryu, and Aya? That's...pretty damn lame, to be honest. And what did I say in the past?

(flashback!)

Past!Rika: "Eh, you'll get your chance. Many fucking times."

(end flashback!)

Rika: ...you know it's sad when I realized just how right I was. Granted, not everyone from Jetman actually got a taste of battle, but fucking still.

Anyway, as everything's repeated of what we already know, J!Ryu thinks that the only reason why RINO's doing this is because of a personal vendetta or whatever, and J!Gai wonders if they can take down the new monster. Then the Gokaigers show up, and they're only there to ask the Jetmen to save G!Gai. J!Gai assures them that they'll save the Extra Heroes.

I can't help but notice how non-brash Marvelous is. I mean, granted, they've been broken beyond broken, but still. One would think he would just be cocky and find other ways to save G!Gai...but meh.

At the beach, we see the Extra Heroes and Cole destroyed with so much suffering. And Tranza's thinking of who would be next to be nailed to the cross.

...

I honestly don't have the heart to call it Passion of the Extra Heroes.

Bloody Worm Jigen continues to do its icky work, and Ahames decides to just let the monster do its job in the city. And...I have no idea what the hell she's trying to say.

Ahames: "Let's just send the monster to do its job at the city. Bloody Amazo Worm Jigen should do a charm spreading the worms which will soon eat everyone up slowly and painfully. It's way better than the Xenomorph! Careful though, Radiguet said to keep them alive. He wishes to have the final blow! He did call back the monster an hour ago- can't help it if he has other plans."

So you guys are sending the monster to the city...but he called back the monster some time ago. And...bwuh? This really doesn't make any sense.

As the Extra Heroes grow more insane, Cole loses all of his hope, even gaining visions of the allies losing. Also, when a bird pecks on him...he kills it with his bare teeth.

(Rika bursts out into a small laughter) Cole Evans, the Red Conqueror: brave, can read hearts, and will totally kill small animals if insane enough. I'm sorry, but I can't really take that seriously. It's just...what the fuck?

Basco plans to feed the already-made worms to the loudest people (read: Genta and G!Gai, because they're only there for "humor" and suffering...which, by the way, sucks hard), and Kiros tells Miu to appreciate him. And...fucking really? He's acting more like an immature little shit than a cool, heartless dude!

Oh, and the best part? Hiroto doesn't go apeshit on Kiros. I mean, granted, he is tied up to a cross and all, but you would think that he would go, "You fucking asshat, stop doing that to my sister!" Not stand all quietly and go "hurr-durr".

As Kiros plans to crucify the rest of the Shinkengers (except Mako, for obvious reasons), Genta's forced to eat the worms. And as the former explains what his plans are...

...what was that, two chapters ago, about the villains getting more subtle with their plans again?

...anyway, Genta screams a Big "NO!". Really? You're making everyone look even more ridiculous with that type of scream, Akizuki! Also, G!Gai's fed the worms, as well as Ken and Gou, and Eiji. The last of which also gets his face beaten before he finishes a speech. Uh...

Back to the assembled Jetmen, Aya says that Chiharu has a plan, but she doesn't know what yet. But for now, they'll need to focus on luring out the security. After a bit with the kids talking to their parents, enter Billy and Ranru, and for some inexplicable reason, their eyes are bugged out.

Also, Hoji and Yousuke are seeking their love interests. Uh...

Billy explains to the group that the worms can be killed, and the only way to do so is through a high-temperature laser treatment. It can also kill the eggs, obviously. Buuuuuuut there's one bit of a snag. Namely, they will need to kill the monster first, since—obviously—the bloody worms will keep multiplying as long as it's alive.

Well, isn't that fuckin' nice?

Turns out that Sakura, too, has a plan to distract the enemy from the beach! So, wait, what about Chiharu and her plan? And we get bits of Yousuke and Tori, and Hoji and Chiharu talking. Yawn.

Meanwhile, in the U.A.O.E, RINO frees Jasmine from the mind control. He tells her that she has...kind of outlived her usefulness? But instead of killing her, she's pretty much another trophy. Joy.

As RINO guilt-trips her, Jasmine is rather angry at the situation. He drags her into the dungeon, and Shizuka watches. She...slowly starts to regain her memories, remembering that Gekkou is her master, and she should free him.

Okay, how in the hell did she regain her memories? This makes just as much sense as when Mikoto regained his! What, does the brainwashing thing suck that badly?

RINO places Jasmine into the dungeon, and he tells her that she's his, now deal with it. Oh, and we're told again that his power spasms are making him do things that are so OOC. And yes, I know it was already stated in the last chapter.

As far as I'm concerned, saying that RINO's OOC here doesn't make anything better. As a matter of fact, it just make things worse.

Regardless, Jasmine's "reunited" with Kimberly and Mako, and they tell her what's going on, as well as their speculations on what's going to happen. NEXT!

At the beach, we get a scene with S!Takeru, Ryunosuke, Kotoha, and Chiaki being crucified. Basically, there's a bit of banter, and RINO declares the beach to be the graveyard of the USSPRA.

...

Meanwhile, at the city, the Jetmen arrive. J!Gai feels that it's a trap somehow, and then, enter RINO and the Bloody Worm Jigen. The former villain is excited to destroy the Jetmen, but J!Ryu knows that the foe will never keep his promise. After RINO swears that if they make one false move, the comrades die, the Jetmen transform into their respective forms.

As RINO gloats about how much his plan is working, we go to the beach, where Aka Red is with Sakura's team of women, Samurai Rangers, and Hurricane Red and Deka Blue. While Ashley and Kat are unsure about stuff...and, somehow, Kat hiccups in her thoughts? Huh? Anyway, Aka Red totally says this.

Aka Red: "Listen those guys are suckers. Sentai foot soldiers are very stupid to fall for girlie tricks."

(Rika's eyes twitch)

I'm sorry, what? Did Aka Red actually say that the mooks are idiots? I feel my inner "OOC Alert!" alarm ringing in my head.

Aka Red plans to free Cole himself, and Jayden goes on and on about how they're not true Samurai. This is just as annoying, if not moreso, than all the shit that was said in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Power Rangers Samurai! Also, a mention about how Genta's in the same boat as them.

(Rika facetendrils) I got nothing, folks!

In the fortress, Jasmine's team is thinking the same thing. Specifically, they must use their sex appeal to fool the guards, in order to get the Shodo Phones and all other transformation trinkets back, and free everyone.

...

That's just wrong! I'm sorry, but...Jasmine does realize that Kimberly was messed up well, right? I mean...why the hell would they put her through this?

(Rika then grabs a sake bottle and takes a long drink)

I'm surprised I can manage alcohol a bit better.

(where we last left the All-Stars off, Radiguet stands up after contemplating)

Radiguet: Well, All-Stars. You think you're home free. You're dead wrong.

(inside, his anger's reaching a boiling point)

Mao: Guys, I think we need to give our friends a power boost!

Tori: You're right.

(the Legendary Rangers go into a circle, preparing to heal the All-Stars)

Radiguet: ...I think it's time to do one last fight. Get ready, All-Stars! FOR YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET!

(Radiguet is caught up in a dark vortex, one he created himself, as the Legendary Rangers give their energies to cure the All-Stars from their pains)

Ryota: T-thanks, guys!

Mako: ...where'd Radiguet go?

Rika: At the beach, we see the Samurai Rangers, Hoji, and Yousuke beating down the mooks. As for the girls, they lure the other mooks into a trap. A honeytrap, you might say. They have the guards try the new products, which, I shit you not, is Mia's bad cooking. Specifically, cooking the rotten fish into something horrible.

...and the mooks eat it, and gross shit happens. And the Samurai Rangers defeat them. Yeah, wasn't there a Jetman "tribute" story that's happening right about now?

After the girls talk about how successful the first part was and how they'll need to free the Shinkengers, cut to the dungeon, where Kimberly, Jasmine, and Mako put on a show. Of FANSERVICE.

Seriously, now that I think about it, I think this is pretty much the only reason why there's a fucking Beach Episode in a shitty Jetman "tribute". And why we're not focusing on the Jetmen themselves.

...

What? The girls posing in a sexy manner is also ripped off from Super Sentai vs. Super Sentai? Okay, that's four things you ripped off, Akizuki, what the hell?

So the mooks are wowed by the ladies, and one by one, they fall from their utter stupidity until there's one Grinam left. He gives the girls a code and turned off the security system, and how does he get rewarded? Getting his head bashed in, of course.

...

(Rika sighs) We're halfway done, though, thank God.

As the girls head to the vault, they find Shizuka there. And she says "pepetopet" once more. Is that really necessary? But regardless, she gets beaten, too, and the girls obtain the transformation trinkets. After getting what they came for, they escape to the beach.

Back at the city, Bloody Worm Jigen has the worms attach to the Jetmen, so you know what that means. More fun with gore and death! Hey, Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers, the numerous torture/gore horror films called, they all think you're being unoriginal! Even better, the Grinams beat the shit out of them, and RINO uses his sword to make more cuts for the worms' eggs.

Ewwwwwwwwwww.

RINO continues to slash and shoot the shit out of them, and cut to the beach, where the rest of the villains are chillaxing. As they talk and wonder if the "heroes" would simply surrender, they realize that the guards are knocked down. And then, they see Sakura's team, and they tell the villains what's up.

Also, Jasmine's team joins as well, as well as Aka Red. Ahames gets really pissed off, and they decide to face off against the two teams. Meanwhile, the Samurai Rangers slash through the crosses, and they free not only the Shinkengers, but also the Extra Heroes and the hostages on the beach. This brings hope back to the affected Extra Heroes, for the record.

Upon seeing Sakura, Cole, who's also finally freed, rejoins with her. He's given his powers, and he transforms into Red Conqueror, with Aka Red as the dominant personality. The other Extra Heroes also transform as well.

...we're almost done. Just gotta make through this bullshit.

(battle music plays as the All-Stars and Legendary Rangers prepare for the final fight. Powerful surges come out of the vortex, and all throughout this time, the heroes didn't dare to strike at the vortex, lest if their powers get zapped away, or worse, their attacks deflected right back at them.)

(...and then...enter Radiguet's true form, Radigan!)

Sean: WHOA! That's one ugly motherfucker!

Christopher: You can say that again, man!

(Radigan strikes with more powerful lightning bolts as he growls, one thing on his mind: wiping out the All-Stars and Legendary Rangers. Brittany tries to make ground walls as protection, with the help of Dan's Energy Barriers, which works a bit. And then, Sean prepares his new morpher, the Legend Morpher...)

Sean: ULTIMATE RED ADVENT, AWAKEN THE LEGEND!

(Sean morphs into the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger. The aura bathes him, and it breaks out into tiny particles, revealing a suit very much like Aka Red's...only with the roman numeral for "20", signalling the 20th year of the Rangers. He prepares himself...)

The embodiment of hope, I am Sean, the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger! REMEMBER IT!

(The All-Stars and the Legendary Rangers then fight against Radigan, who shoots powerful projectile attacks in an attempt to slow them down.)

Matoi: Oh, no, you don't! (he jumps up into the air and blasts Radigan with the Five Lasers. While weakening him, Radigan shoots a dark energy ball attack at Go Red)

(Rin and Mako double-team, and using the Shinkenmaru and Super Shinkenmaru, respectively, they try to slice Radigan, only for him to counter the blows. Mao assists the girls by obtaining the Shinken Yellow Ranger Key, transforming into said form, and after confusing the foe for a while, the three girls slash Radigan with their swords)

Rin: Thanks!

Mao: Anytime. (gives a thumbs-up)

(Alex and Jason charge at Radigan, the former trying to slash at Radigan with his Fire Smasher, the latter trying to shoot at the villain. However, the foe summons an earthquake, stunning the two, and then he shoots at them with the projectiles!)

Xander: Now that's just not fair, mate. (he uses a more powerful Energy Ball attack at Radigan, who tries to deflect it, but can't)

Tori: Dan, you ready?

Dan: Oh, yeah!

(Tori and Dan do a double-team attack, the Energetic Surf attack, where a regular Surf attack is, well, energized. It crashes at Radigan, only for him to strike at the two with a Solarbeam)

...this guy's giving us quite the challenge, there.

(Radigan uses the thunderbolts to strike at the All-Stars, which works, until Christopher and Sean do their double-team attack. Specifically, the former's Spiral Saber and the latter's Flame Burst. Then the latter takes out a small crystal ball with the Lightspeed insignia on it)

Sean: ULTIMATE RED ADVENT, LIGHTSPEED! RESCUE!

(by putting the ball into the morpher's slot, Sean transforms into the Ultimate Red Lightspeed Ranger...which is merely a light armored version of the Red Lightspeed Ranger. Think Glass Armor-like. He takes out the Heavenly V-Lancer and tries to slash at Radigan, but the monster, with a really pissed-off rage, drop-kicks his foe)

Christopher: Oh, fuck you! (he rushes at Radigan, but he's blasted down)

Radigan: All-Stars! Now it's time to submit to your fate! At least you will all die together!

(but then Ryota, who has yet to attack Radigan, just shoots the foe in the face)

Ryota: I think that's quite enough of that! All right, let's pull out the stops, All-Stars!

All-Stars: RIGHT!

(and then...all the group members prepare their final attacks. Ryota and Jason do the dual Gokai Blast and Slash attack, Saya uses the Earth Elemental attack: Claws of Petals, and Christopher and Matoi shoot Radigan with the Astro Blasters and Five Lasers, respectively.)

(Next is Natsuki, whose Bucket Scooper weapons prove to be effective towards the enemy; Brittany, Alex, and Rin then use their respective weapons—the Earth Slicer, the Fire Smasher, and the Heaven Fan—to slash the foe. Ryota nods to the Legendary Rangers)

Ryota: All right, guys, the stage is yours!

Sean: You heard him, let's do it!

(Xander ensnares Radigan with the vines, unbreakable. Mao and Mako perform the Perfect Heaven and Earth Dance with their Shinkenmaru, and Tori blows Radigan off his feet with the Heavenly Sonic Fin weapon, the sound waves becoming too unbearable for the enemy. Dan charges up the Rocket Energy Blaster, and as if it's an extension to his body, he fires it naturally at Radigan, the monster roaring)

(finally, Sean steps forward, the Heavenly V-Lancer ready, and he slashes at Radigan. He aims the weapon for another attack, and he shoots Radigan with the Heavenly Rescue Beam attack, defeating the enemy once and for all)

...it's over. Hopefully.

(they all wait to see if Radigan is getting up, and after five minutes...)

Ryota: Well...we did it. We finally defeated Radiguet!

(the All-Stars cheer)

(back to Rika...)

Rika: So, Tranza's team are trying to defeat Cole's team, only for them to get their asses handed to them. Again. Even with Tranza ordering his teammates to attack, they're still beaten into submission, to the point where they retreat.

Back to RINO, the Jetmen are getting their asses kicked, until the villain receives a message. Namely, he was duped the entire time. He flips his shit...but he says to J!Ryu that the friends are still in control? Huh?

(Rika shrugs)

As he's about to stab J!Gai, RINO gets a message from Basco. The latter tells the former what's going on, and once again, RINO flips his shit. Just when things look their bleakest, enter Cole (and yes, I know that Aka Red's the dominant personality, but still) and the the entire team of Extra Heroes! So what do they do?

They share their energies with Cole, and the energies are spread across the Jetmen, recovering them from the worms. Also? This cures the Extra Heroes from the dark aura.

Yep. Which means that some of the plot points that did happen, namely Tetsu being a dick towards Jasmine, is rendered...(ding ding!)...completely fucking pointless!

With all this power, Cole and Aka Red are separated. The latter wishes the Jetmen luck, and he and the Extra Heroes head off. And so—

"The Jetmen beat the Grinams that were used to torture them. The worms were killed. Radiguet got angry. The Jetmen fought the Grinams that were used to torture them were beaten dead quite quick."

...

Fucking repetition...I'm so going to be glad once this shit's over.

Ako and Kaori perform the Wing Gauntlet at the monster, and then Raita throws rocks at the monster.

...

It's Super Effective!

J!Gai uses the Condor Finish, and J!Ryu defeats RINO. However...the Emperor himself fires a projectile from his mouth to enlarge Bloody Worm Jigen. Uh...ew.

So the Jetmen summon Jet Icarus, and just when they're about to defeat the enemy, the monster summons worms to eat the metal. Uh...what?

(Rika has a "what the fuck?" look)

J!Gai summons the Jet Garuda, which removes the worms somehow, and both mecha combine to form Great Icarus. And so, the Monster of the Chapter's destroyed by the Bird Maser.

And how does RINO react to this epic fail? Take a wild guess.

Answer: he fires lightning bolts at his own mooks. As he throws a huge hissy fit, he declares that they'll pay the ultimate penalty. And what is that? Death by this...gah.

Then Shizuka enters, and when RINO turns to her, she apologizes. He tells her that he won't harm her master if she continues to be loyal to him. Turns out that Shizuka has also caught RINO's fancy as well.

...

Fucking really?

Shizuka thinks that she has to give into his advances, and the other villains enter, exhausted and stressed over everything that happened. RINO thinks about any possible ideas, and he vows to the women that they'll be his one day.

And that day ain't going to come anytime soon. (Rika looks over how much the next part of the Zyuranger arc is in Development Hell)

(...with the All-Stars, as they continue to celebrate...Radigan wakes up! He slowly turns back into Radiguet, and although severely weakened, he's still furious)

Mao: ...really? How did you survive?

Radiguet: Well...that would be a secret. As long as I have breath, I will destroy you all...even if I have to use more lightning to do it!

(Radiguet tries to strike, but then, several tendrils pop out from the ground!)

Ryota: W-what's going on?!

Sean: I really hope this ends differently.

Mako: Eh?

Sean: ...you don't want to know.

(much to everyone's relief, the tendrils ensnare Radiguet)

Radiguet: What?! What are you doing?

Eldritch: I think you've had enough, Radiguet. For your punishment, you will go back to Hell! And I arranged some friends, too...I can't wait for you to meet them.

...and by the way...

(one of the tendrils break from the ground, in the main room. It grabs the Time Crystal after breaking the glass)

(with the All-Stars...)

...I will return the Time Crystal back to its rightful place. No more will anyone use it for their own needs. Not even I.

(to the All-Stars) Well done, heroes. I have to admit, I never thought you would survive...as soon as I take Radiguet back, you can rejoin with Rika.

Jason: ...so speaking of Rika, what happened to her?

(the Eldritch tells the group everything)

She what?!

Mao: How is she going to turn back?

Eldritch: It'll wear off eventually. But for now, she doesn't seem to mind, oddly enough.

Anyway. You can pass, All-Stars. Tell Rika that I won't be bothering her anymore.

(she slithers away to Hell, carrying Radiguet with her. When the ground is closing in, all the All-Stars hear are sounds of punches thrown, and Radiguet screaming)

Sean: That sounds very familiar. (he shakes his head, and everyone demorphs) Come on, guys!

Ryota: Right with you!

(everyone heads off)

(with Rika...)

Rika: Back at the New Skybase, the Gokaigers are recovering nicely, and G!Gai wants to find out more about the Rangers. Oh, wait, no, he thinks they're cosplayers, but when they tell him what they truly are...

...and seriously, shadows of Super Sentai? The hell?

G!Gai: "WHAAA?! Then you must be fakes and imposters!"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! KAIZOKU SENTAI GOKAIGER VS. POWER RANGERS SAMURAI FLASHBACKS!!

(Rika shudders)

J!Gai tells G!Gai to stop badmouthing him, otherwise, he'll go to the detention center. For fuck's sake...stop even mentioning the damn center, Akizuki! G!Gai apologizes, and the others muse about the events of the mission. They also decide to strengthen training regulations as well.

We get another scene of Cole at the medical clinic, with Sakura tending to him. Apparentally, we're told that the guy had been nothing but pleasant, kind, towards her. Hell, he even gave her flowers when she was sick, and Satoru did not. So, wait, Satoru and Sakura aren't an item anymore? What the hell?

Oh, and it gets really better. Houka is now well-behaved. Why? They believe that she and Satoru are getting along, believing that he is the only guy who can change her. Yes, you read that right, it's a fucking Houka/Satoru ship! Seriously, how in the hell did that actually happen?!

Sakura tells him about how the base is a lot more peaceful ever since, and Cole can't help but think about his friends, the Wild Force Rangers. Then Sakura kisses him. That's right, she decides that now is the time to be his boyfriend. Oh, and she, in her mind, thanks Jasmine for hooking him up with her.

(Rika facetendrils)

The rest of the Rangers see Kimberly recovered from all the traumas she suffered through, and she tells them that she had to be distant after those events. They understand, and Justin wonders if they'll meet their counterparts soon. Tori leaves to go grocery shopping with Yousuke, and Kimberly is thankful that she has friends. And so, this chapter, and this insane, stupid part of this liveblog ends with a vision of the Zyurangers.

...

Oh, wait, we have an Author's Note to read!

(Tranza is rubbing his temples, not really happy that the "torture" is still continuing)

Akizuki says that for this arc, it's the last one before Zyuranger. Oh, and it gets even better—the fanfic will be long, but not as long as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers itself. Oh, and that bit with some of the Extra Heroes being fed worms? That was a response to one of the reviewers who thought the entire "force-feeding an individual with disgusting food" thing isn't funny. For the sake of being dark.

Honestly, it was the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Now, I'm not going to spoil the Zyuranger arc, mainly because that isn't done yet. Finally, Akizuki even admits how this chapter isn't well-written. Why? Because of several factors, some of which includes writer's block and juggling real-life stuff, and his hobbies. Oh, and part of said writer's block is evident by the quality deterioration, something that's in bold because it's really happening, y'all!

(Rika exhales)

And now...more than ever...

MISSION COMPLETE!

(as Rika strikes a pose, the All-Stars open the door, and she notices them)

Hey, guys! What took you? (she then looks at the Legendary Rangers) Nice outfits!

Mao: Uh...thanks?

(Sean then sees Tranza, cowering from all the events from the last two chapters)

Tranza: A-a-a-are you?!

Sean: ...Rika? Who's your friend?

Rika: Oh? That's Tranza. He was tending to me the entire time. (she then explains what happened to the guy)

Dan: <Poor bastard.>

Mako: So what are we going to do with him?

Tori: Honestly, I don't know.

Sean: ...if Rika truly says that he's changed...but then again, wasn't he committed to a mental hospital before all this?

Jason: Yep. Radiguet sent him there, as a vegetable...

(Sean is deeply in thought, and he nods. He walks up to Tranza, placing a hand on his shoulder)

Sean: Tranza.

Tranza: Y-yes?

Sean: As a reward for keeping Rika safe, you'll go back to the hospital. I really do understand how the fanfic drove you nuts. As soon as you recover, call us. We'll give you a new life, a new identity, everything.

Tranza: Really?

(Sean nods softly)

T-thank you! (he sobs as he bows)

Mao: Radiguet will no longer harm you, or anyone else, Tranza. He's gone for good.

Tranza: ...

Rika: You took care of him?

Xander: Well, we did have a bit of help. But yeah, we did!

(Sean nods, and he turns to Tranza)

Sean: Tranza, it's time.

(With a wave of his hand, Sean summons a portal. He sends Tranza through, and he nods, as if to say, "I won't forget you!". Then he leaves, and the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger nods)

...my work here is done.

Rika: Hm?

Sean: Rika, I'll tell you everything as soon as we board the Gokai Galleon. Ryota, you have the ship ready?

Ryota: Ready! (nods)

Tori: Yeah, and we'll tell you what happened with us.

Rika: O-okay.

(and so, everyone boards the Gokai Galleon, and they tell Rika exactly what happened...)

(back at Rika's room, the girl's teleported out, everything still a mess. Offscreen, everyone has said their goodbyes to her, and they all are now back to their own respective places as well)

Rika: ...I will never forget this moment. These guys are true heroes...

(she then realizes that she has an analysis to do)

Oh, shit, I forgot!

Anyway...so those were the first 35 chapters of Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers. This fanfic sucks.

I mean, all I can really say is, wow. This story claims to be a way to end the fan wars, and yet, all that happens are some characteristics of a typical fan war. Like destroying characters Akizuki hates, as well as stripping down to the bare minimum characterizations for even those he likes. Plots for several, if not all, series are totally disregarded, there are more plot holes than your typical Power Rangers episode, and even the story doesn't give a shit about its own arcs.

For specific characters, do I really need to say why I had so much issues with RINO's characterizations? To me, whenever I've read the character sheets or the Wikis, he kind of reminds me of Ghetsis: doesn't give a shit about his allies, just wants more for himself. Here, in this fic, not so much. As for Cole...gaaaaaaah. Not only is he pretty undeveloped, but the whole entire basecrush is just insane. The other Sentai Warriors and Rangers are one-note, and that's not to say anything about their...not-so-heroic moments.

And do I really need to mention about the rampant repetition of most, if not all, of the dialogue? Or, hell, the plots themselves? Even with the "tributes", it falls in the same pattern of "U.A.O.E makes an idea, some 'heroes' are chosen, U.A.O.E argues and strikes a deal with the past villains, past Sentai heroes are either beaten or, for some members, almost nonexistent; the 'heroes' help out, the past Sentai Heroes beat the Monster of the Arc". Lather, rinse, repeat. And yeah, I may have skipped over a few other parts, but still.

As for the shout-outs, dear God. If you want to do a shout-out, do it properly, or do it as a gag. Don't rip it off to the point where you just look freaking lazy as a result! I can't help but think just how many plots Akizuki ripped off while making this fanfic, and from what I've glanced at in the Zyuranger arc, he's still doing the same shit!

...by the way, why am I stopping here instead of, say, Chapter 36? Considering that Zyuranger is the first Sentai series to be adapted into Power Rangers, I find that to be a good place to restart again, if Akizuki ever does. So it's kinda fitting.

But yeah. Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers? A complete travesty to any unfortunate Super Sentai or Power Rangers fan who happens to read this. I completely recommend, for instance, a pretty funny reaction fic by one Shraffe1001, which captures the characters oh-so-perfectly. Or, hell, read the reviews from him, or ChrisX, or anyone else, since they've covered more about this stuff and can put it in better words than I.

(Rika exhales, and Carter finally arrives back)

Carter: Where is everyone?

Rika: Oh, they're gone...I'm okay now.

Carter: DAMN IT!

Rika: ...

Besides, you really weren't missing much, anyway.

Carter: T-that's good...I guess. So how did you end up getting rescued?

Rika: It's a long story. Come, I'll make you some tea as soon as I get done.

(she turns to the audience)

This has been Rika Liveblogs vs. Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers. Until next time, see ya!

(as Rika leads Carter into the kitchen...)

(..in the dimension with the Tokusatsu Spirits, the Sentinel Knight and the Phantom Ranger wait for someone. Aka Red, for all of his troubles, has been demoted to just helping out whenever he can, until they decide to bring him back.)

(Then Sean arrives, and he nods to the two spirits. As heroic music plays...)

Sean: <Sometimes, some events happen because of fate. Other times, we take control. I've taken control of my own fate, and now, I can't wait to help people. When all hope's lost, they will know who I am.>

<I am Sean Cw Johnson, the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger.>

(then a hard cut to black)

FIN

(...and the ending theme plays)

Congratulations on stomaching all the 35 chapters and even liveblogging for us all to enjoy. I couldn't have done it myself, only going as far as the first.

Oh and forgot one thing I'd add... SHIPPING! The shipping here just doesn't make a fucking sense, and most of all facilitates to what Zukini likes personally. Like for instance, the infamous Dear John letter? Tommy and Kat breaking and Tommy getting back to Kim, is probably just to serve on that. I know that event is controversial enough, but can I say 'Deal With It'?

Once again this is a great job well done. Now with your permission, I would like to send this over to Zukini himself, maybe he could understand a little on what kind of thing he has done. Though I'm gonna bet he may not change, it's worth a shot. Great job!

And I'm sure you'll find the courage to do this once again if Zukini decided to continue further...

Thanks.

Ah, I forgot about the shipping as well. It really doesn't make any sense at all, and with that, I think I said all that needed to be said with that bit.

And you can go ahead and share it with Akizuki, if you wish. Also, if he decides to continue it, I'd love to do it again. (Maybe with another plot.)

Again, thanks for reading it!
