While browsing through a friend's webzine, I found a column where someone was writing about every movie they owned in chronological order. Just last year I tried to watch a movie every day*

, and found I sort of missed watching movies and writing about them, so I thought this would be an interesting thing to try for myself. However, I'm putting my own twist on it by writing about the movies I own in a loose sort of autobiographical order - that is, starting with films I liked in my childhood or teenage years, then moving on to ones I didn't see until later, and eventually even things that I own but haven't taken the time to sit down and watch yet. For some reason one of the things in that last category is the live action Yogi Bear movie, which might get it's own, more traditional liveblog... Because that just seems like the kind of thing one does when one forces oneself to watch the live action Yogi Bear movie.

Some of the films I watch will be things I already wrote about on another blog for the 365 movies thing - I'm going to try to come up with different things to say about them, but reserve the right to rehash bits from that other blog. Also, I admit that I sort of started doing this just slightly before coming up with the autobiographical part, so I really started with Monty Python And The Holy Grail, but we're going to pretend I started with Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, because that's sort of the only film I can consider part of my childhood that I actually own now. Then, when I decide I'm at the right part of the timeline, I'll post what I already have written about Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

Sounds interesting. Will you be linking to that old blog as well?

I'm going to edit a link to the 365 movies thing into my spiel up there, but here it is anyway: http://quetzalcoatlustastic.tumblr.com/tagged/365-movies. Tumblr isn't much for the whole finding specific posts thing, but at least I used tags for certain directors, actors, genres, and series that I ended up covering multiple times.
