Well, last time Vedic utterly annihilated some orcs and grabbed their leet loot. Seriously, dragon armor? That's late game awesomeness that you shouldn't be getting until after you've slayed at least one dragon.

Found a new book by the way. Not quite what I was hoping for but at least Vedic can use it to begin working on summoning and transmutations. Oh hey, it's a wandering mushroom. These guys will stalk and stay just out of your sight so when you need to turn and run, BAM! Right there. So only a real threat when you're being chased by other enemies. Also releases DAMN SPORES!

Anyway, the next ability Chei gives you is the ability to damage everything in sight that's moving faster than you. The bigger the difference in speed, the heavier of a hit they take, so to get the most effect out of this, you need to quite literally move at the speed of a slug.

Orcish Mines. Go my scorpion army! Poison to the extreme! YEAH! Anyway, new ability from Chei called Step From Time. Basically, for 10MP, you step out of time, wait several turns, and then reappear. By then, enemies and stuff should have walked away. It is a great defensive ability.

The trick with killing summoners is to not let them summon in the first place. Mepthetic Cloud, eh? Anyway, the old mustachio goes down quite easy without his army of minions and I get a nice sword of holy wrath as my prize.

Well shit, an orc priest caught me off guard. I can't lose here, not yet! This character is too good! Woo, okay, survived. Just had to pump some negative energy into him using a wand of mine. Rule #1 of a naga, don't over extend yourself. You can't retreat properly like most characters can, so take your time and move forward slowly while heading back when necessary.

And then get killed by a surprise summoning from an orc sorcerer, namely that damn ice devil.

;_;

Doing so well too...

Maybe next time less orc mines.

Okay, so what did I do wrong there? Quite a bit actually. First off, the most obvious one is the fact that I'm playing a Naga with two pieces of ponderous equipment on and not compensating for it. For every tile I moved, an enemy probably moved about three tiles. That's not good for and so this build probably could have seen more play time if I had played a warper, in other words, a class that starts off with translocation magic, allowing me to blink around and cover ground in a manner that would be effective and cheap. The beginning would have been tougher but easily remedied by taking my time and using my poison spit more often.

What else? Well, the other obvious one is the lack of training I did in invocations. This resulted in all of Chei's nice abilities being too high in difficulty to get off consistently (like the step out of time one being "Very Poor" chance even if it would have done wonders for me back there). As great as it is to have a high level of skill in just about any area, if you over specialize, you're stuck.

Okay, no more of this ice death bullshit. They shall all die by fire! Assuming I turn red at level 7 anyway.

Okay, so a fire elementalist is as straight forward as it sounds, you get lots of fire magic. Draconians are a bit more interesting, they're basically dragon people, you even get a special looking head. Anyway, Draconians are a bit sturdier than most races but have average aptitudes all around and can't equip heavy armor due to their odd body shape. However, at level 7, your draconian matures into an adult and you get a random color that comes with certain perks, however, right now you're a brown draconian that isn't all that special. If you, say, turn into a red draconian, you get fire breath, a +2 in your fire aptitude, and some other stuff.

I also can't seem to light a tree on fire because of how bad my draconian sucks at magic right now and how lame flame tongue is as a spell. It's basically a one square range slightly-stronger-than-a-punch burst of fire. Get the level two throw flame ASAP.

So, speaking of spells, we've got make fire appear, make fire appear, make fire appear, make a slightly larger fire appear, and HOLY CRAP FIRE BALL! Really, this book is as straight forward as it gets, you get progressively more awesome ways to throw fire at whatever you run into.

Anyway, flame tongue does get higher range as you improve, but seriously, just stick to tossing fire at enemies. Also, Naga Barding. I'm sure that will be quite useful for us.

...and Crazy Yiuf is chasing Zuko off his lawn. More next time!

haha, sweet blog dude!

the farthest I've gotten.. which isn't far at all.. was Hadnu, my Lvl.13 Ko Be..

Sigh> little dog men with pointy spikes are indeed quite the ferocious force to be reckoned with!

I am addicted to the random insanity that is DSCK! It's not particularly efficient in getting anything done rather than dying by some sort of cruel gladiatorial joke on the part of Xom but still>>

I love it

I actually managed to complete the shoals and the spider's nest in my run before getting killed in the hall of blades by a poorly placed unique.

Word to thew wise: even as a minotaur monk of trog, don't take off see invisible unless it's to put on another ring of see invisibility. Stupid monocule guy...
