Hello tropers and other people who happened to find this. I'm Some Color Mage. As some of you probably know, a small amount of time ago, I did a Let's Play of Golden Sun. I strongly suggest you have read it before this one, as I'm going to try refraining from repeating myself. This time, we're looking at the sequel (Or, more accurately, second half), Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

So, let's get right into it.

Okay, let's just go to the name character screen and...

FELIX!? That idiot? Okay, I guess Felix is our party leader in this game. Assuming he doesn't attempt suicide off another lighthouse again.

Transfer data from Golden Sun?

Yes, yes I do. I'm not losing that Gaia Blade and Kikuichimonji. We are asked what kind of transfer I want to do, and select Gold Password.

A long time later...

Invalid password.

Oh damn it. Where is the typo?

Another long time later...

Password accepted.

THANK YOU. Well, everything seems to be in order, my original party is all level 31 and appears to have everything they had at the end of the first game.

Now let's begin. Cue plot dump.

Ages ago, or so the stories tell, the power of Alchemy ruled over the world of Weyard. Alchemy wrought the base elements of humanity into thriving civilizations, like lead into gold. But in time, man's dreams gave birth to untold strife. Dreams of endless ritches, of eternal life, of dominion over all that lived... Dreams of conquest and of war. These dreams would have torn the world apart if not for a few brave and wise men, who sealed away the power of Alchemy deep in Mt. Aleph's Sol Sanctum.

Prologue from Book One

The town of Vale guarded the secret for many years, until Isaac and Jenna, whose parents died in a storm 3 years before, disturbed the sanctum. Saturos and Menardi, of the Mars Clan, followed them into the sanctum. With them traeled Jenna's brother, Felix, thought lost in that same tragic storm. Saturos and Menardi stole the Elemental Stars, the keys to breaking the seal on the power of Alchemy, and kidnapped Jenna and the scholar Kraden. If these four jewels were used to fire the elemental lighthouses, the seal on Alchemy would be broken.

Isaac and Garet set out to stop Saturos, rescue their friends, and return the Elemental Stars to their home in Sol Sanctum. They banded together with a young Wind Adept named Ivan and pursued Saturos and Menardi to Imil, a winter-locked town near Mercury Lighthouse. There, they met the guardian of the lighthouse, a Water Adept named Mia. With her, they pursued Saturos to the aerie high atop Mercury Lighthouse.

Isaac was too late to stop Saturos from lighting the beacon and escaping. Again Isaac chased him, crossing Angara to the shores of the Karagol Sea. Taking passage on a troubled ship, Isaac crossed the Karagol to Tolbi. He spoke with Tolbi's leader, a strange man named Babi. Babi entered Isaac in Colosso as a test of his powers. Isaac's Psynergy won Colosso and earned him Babi's trust. Babi revealed a great secret to Isaac... Thanks to a mystic draught from the lost land of Lemuria, Babi had lived for 150 years! He offered to help Isaac, who then headed deep into Gondowan.

In the town of Lalivero, Isaac learned that Saturos and Menardi had kidnapped a young girl named Sheba, whom they needed within the lighthouse. Isaac fought and defeated them atop the lighthouse, but he was too late—-the beacon had been lit. A great cataclysm followed. Sheba fell into the sea. Felix jumped in to save her, but both were lost in the rolling waves. Jenna left the lighthouse to find them, but to no avail... Isaac went to Lalivero, where Babi asked him to find Lemuria and the remaining Lighthouses. He gave Isaac a Lemurian ship to make the journey for the lost land.

This chapter of our story begins with Jenna, just before the beacon on Venus Lighthouse is lit...

Golden Sun Book Two

The Lost Age

Finally, that's over. We start at the room between Venus Lighthouse and Venus Lighthouse Entry. Felix triggers the switch with the Move Psynergy, so Jenna and Kraden can leave.

Jenna: Are you sure we should be leaving like this? Once we go down these stairs, we can't get back into the lighthouse.

Oh, boo hoo. It's a good thing considering you're roughly 25 levels behind the expected value here.

Jenna: Maybe I should have stopped my brother...

Kraden: Jenna, is something troubling you?

She just explained her troubles to you, stupid. Jenna worries that something bad will happen, then Alex warps in. We explain that Felix went to the Venus Lighthouse Aerie.

Alex: What can Felix possibly be thinking?

Very stupid thoughts, that's what. Kraden noticed that Isaac, Garet, Ivan and Mia have made it into the lighthouse, and Jenna is dreading the nearly certain fight.

Jenna: Please... Can't we go back and talk to Isaac?

Alex: I'm afraid that's not possible.

Yeah, we have to get out of here. Kraden wants to see the lighthouses lit as much as Alex, it seems, and we can't let Isaac's group stop us.

Ah, we're now finally in control, and we have to head for Idejima. On the way, I sidetrack to a chest.

Jenna checked the chest... The chest was already open. But it looks like there's still an Herb inside!

No endgame equipment for us. :(

Huh, it looks like they finally cleaned up all the dead and/or dying people. Good for them. Outside, however...

There they are! Get 'em!

Well, looks like we're enemies of Lalivero despite the fact we had nothing to do with Saturos and Menardi killing everyone they got close to. They want us to return Sheba.

Now you lot listen here. We're the damn hostages and we still have the power to kill you. Kidnapping Sheba was not our idea. Go away.

They don't go away, so we have to fight them.

Alex: Well, then. Allow me to shoulder some of your burden.

Alex then summons a water spout under one of Babi's soldiers and catapults them into the sky. Then he does it again. That would be a very nice spell to have...

We head for Idejima, but one of the workmen block our path. He attacks us. Being a non-Adept, however, means he's weak to everything. Easy enough.

Leaving Venus Lighthouse Entry jumps us straight to Suhalla Gate. Another workman shows up and is felled easily. We try to enter the cave to Idejima, and are blocked by another three workmen. More easy kills.

In the cave, we're attacked by a Punch Ant. Yet another easy kill.

Kraden: My! That was invigorating! He wasn't too strong... I never knew fighting could be so fun! Ah, but we'd better get on to the peninsula...

You didn't do anything. It was all Jenna. Anyway, we've made it to Idejima.

Kraden: This is the place, isn't it?

I don't see any other peninsulas here. Kraden identifies the ship here as Saturos and Menardi's. He immediately jumps in.

Jenna: Kraden, wait! Oh, I swear! You're like a kid with a new toy!

He jumps out soon after.

Kraden: It's missing...

Jenna: Hm? What are you talking about?

Kraden: The thingie... that makes it go.

Well, you can add that to the list of things I never thought a man in his 70s or 80s would ever say. We figure Saturos has this ship's Black Orb.

Alex shows up again and congratulates us on finding the boat. We ponder why the beacon is not lit and where Felix is. Then the beacon goes off. Cue the earthquakes.

Alex: That last tremor tore a rift in the Suhalla Range!

Oh crap, we're on an island now.

Jenna: How are we going to get back to Gondowan now?

And then we drift out onto sea. Well, I think that is a good place to leave off for now. Next time, other strange stuff happens!

I've started the next update, but due to me not having much time on my hands, it won't be finished today. As it's the end of the Eastern Sea, it'll probably be big.
