Let's Play Megaman Battle Network 6
Given that Iris shares her name with Zero's girlfriend in X4, I would not bet against her being plot important.

One other nice point about the chips in this game is this is where they finally dropped the Code system. Makes building folders a whole lot easier.
Hunter1
No, this game still has chip codes. What it does do though to streamline folder-building is have a ton of good chips available in *-code.
ComicX6
The copybots probably don't have limitations put on the navis so much as they can't emulate most of their functions. For example, Copybot Megaman wouldn't be able to use Chip attacks or the megabuster because the copybots can't duplicate the chip effects or projectiles. A navi like Protoman on the other hand would still have a sword for an arm...
Mysterion
I'd make a comment about getting burned if you play with fire, but I like to think I could make a better play on words than something so trite.

(I can't.)
MFM
...Neither me or my friend want to know why there's a wireless interface on a toilet.
Hunter1
It's a built-in air ionizer according to the Programs inside.
ComicX6
"Match and Mach, that's gonna get confusing." Case in point, I read the mention of Mach at the beginning of the update as Match, and was wondering why Match was teaching the class.
MFM
The only real issue with Crosses that I can see is that they make me think of the anime's Cross Fusion gimmick.
Hunter1
I wonder what would happen if Bass fought the Cybeasts. The Cybeasts are stupidly powerful, but then again, Bass is stupidly broken. On the other hand, Bass always seems to lose to Mega Man, and if Mega's incapable of handling the Cybeasts, what hope does Bass have?

(Note, I'm assuming 1v1 for these fights. I have no doubt Bass would lose sole against both Cybeasts.)
Hunter1
Bass actually did fight them in the manga (which I've always found to be a prime example of what Power Creep can do to a story) where he absorbed Falzar to get a Beast Out form of his own.
ComicX6
Apparently, "something infuriating" is also the punishment for not knowing Green Town's ordinances, given the backtracking they force on you for it.
MFM
Of course Wily's not going down that easily, unless he gets confronted by the hero. That seems to be his only weakness.
Hunter1
Well, it's a suprise to me, but then again, I don't exactly have the textbox portraits to give me a big obvious clue.
Hunter1
Going by the conservation of detail storytelling laws, he was the only vector through which Wily could've gotten Yuuichiro's Exa Memory program from earlier in the story. That's no doubt supposed to be the hint that he's up to no good (apart from the NPC populace having nothing but good things to say about him), but I'll agree that it's pretty subtle as far as Battle Network goes.

His mugshot does look kind of smarmy though.
ComicX6
...They didn't give evil!Cain a shadowed portrait before the reveal? Wow, that is subtle for this series...
Hunter1
I would question why Mega Man's disappearance would propagate stronger viruses appearing, since there are still other Navis in ACDC, but I get the impression most of them would be too weak or lazy to handle them...
MFM
MFM: I think it's likely that, with Megaman and Lan around, everyone else in ACDC only ever dealt with the weaker viruses seen in earlier games. With Lan moving, the stronger viruses pushed out the weaker ones, and everyone was too weak to deal with them.

Think of it in Pokemon terms: Lan and Megaman are your starter, and you never use anyone else. For whatever reason, once you hit the later gyms, you can't use your starter anymore, and all you have left is your single-digit level early catches to deal with enemies that are around level 40 or 50.

(I'm pretty sure we have a trope for this, actually. Assuming I'm remembering correctly, it's Complacent Gaming Syndrome. I know it's not a perfect match for what happened in game, but you get the general drift of the matter.)
Hunter1
This point was basically when I decided Mr. Mach was the best character in the game. The rest of the game had him continue to live up to my expectations.
MFM
...Does it say something about how irrelevant Chaud's been for the last few games that I forgot that he had a decent role in this one?
Hunter1
To make up for it Protoman gets the best mugshot in the game (it looks almost cel-shaded).
ComicX6
This attack is an instant kill if Megaman isn't equipped with Undershirt.

In practice, at least. Really, he just doesn't use it until Megaman's HP is lower than the damage it deals.
MFM
The cap does get pretty high though. I know it can inflict around five-hundred points of damage in his later forms.
ComicX6
Geez, the bad guys seem like they're finally getting smarter, then they go and do something stupid like killing themselves...
Hunter1
Yeah, it is kinda ironic that the Mega Man character most dedicated to taking over the world is the one to make it better, twice.

As for the credits name thing... Hey, at least we're getting actual proper names instead of nicknames and handles.

And finally, should I expect to see any of the side games or the Star Force games on the blog list in the coming months?
Hunter1
I always assumed the irony of normal Beast Out being pretty useless against Gregar was fully intentional.
MFM
I don't own any of the side games (I had Battle Chip Challenge in the past but really, who wants to read about me playing Battle Chip Challenge?) so I won't be doing those. I will however move on to the Star Force trilogy, and when I finish those - whenever that will be - I want to do a new series on another third party Nintendo series that I like a lot.
ComicX6
And with this done, I can say you roughly averaged a month and a half per game.

And I wouldn't mind a compilation for the 3DS or Wii U. Admittedly, I would also like that for Star Force...
