* {{Adorkable}}: Lillil is a little plant bulb who sometimes mistakenly attacks her partner in a double battle. She also wears NerdGlasses, which makes her even cuter.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: GMYC. Is he a naive AscendedFanboy, an ExtremeDoormat, a HorribleJudgeOfCharacter, somewhere in between, or just an amoral person?
* AnticlimaxBoss: N and Ghetsis were defeated ''' on the first try, without Reshiram'''.
* HilariousInHindsight: This isn't [[Anime/TheLegendOfThunder the last time]] A protagonist has been named Jimmy.
* ItsTheSameSoItSucks: The starter was released early. Although it's common enough to happen, a lot of people were annoyed that it happened ''again,'' like in almost every single Twitch Plays game.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Poor GMYC Was absolute ''dead last'' in popularity polls made during or right after his run, to the point even very minor [=NPC=]s fared better. However, many works after his run was over showcased his significant development, the darker side of many of his character traits and the relationships he built with N and Cly and his backlash at the Voices which ended up earning him a very large following in the fandom. [[spoiler: Further accentuated by the revisit 3 years later, in which the Mob was (mostly) very happy to see him again and gave him a second opportunity at winning the League, which he did!]]
* SidetrackedByTheGoldSaucer: Battle Subway (with Hilda) and Pokémon Musicals, The Mob's two favorite not-plot-important activities. It is thought that the latter was so much fun that Lord Cover and Lillil left GMYC's team to stay in the theater.
* ThatOneBoss: 4 of the five individual trainers with the highest Wattson Ratings came from the unit-naming run: Elite 4 Drake, Elite 4 Glacia, Champion Wallace, and Wattson himself. (Yes, only four ''Elite Four members'' have more wins over a host than Wattson did.) The fifth, and coming in ahead of all of them except Drake? Caitlin, right here, who put up a 25-8 record against Jimmy C, easily one of the best among pre-champion Elite Four members.
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: Viewing numbers had taken a noticeable drop in this run following the Monday Massacre, viewed as trolls gaining control over the run. Some have decided that there's no point in progressing if all their effort will be easily negated. Others, however, have stayed on, viewing the releases as part of the narrative involving Team Plasma and their intent to release all Pokémon. Ultimately, the game was completed.
