Context YMMV / Tutenstein

Go To

* AdaptationDisplacement: Most don't know that Tut originally appeared as a character in ''Jetcat Clubhouse'' before he got his own show.
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Tutenstein aka Tut can be seen as this; fans either love him for his humorous snarks, badass fighting skills, and loyalty to his friends or dislike him for his [[RoyalBrat Royal Brat]] attitude, impulsivity, and [[StatusQuoIsGod never learning from his mistakes.]]
** Cleo. Is she a good friend to Tut who's just looking out for his well-being and wants to make sure he does the right thing? Or is she a Main/{{Jerkass}} who's constantly bossy towards Tut, making you wonder why they're even friends in the first place (the worst example of this being "Keep Your Wandering Eye To Yourself" where she denounces their friendship over Tut spying on her with the Eye Of Ra out of jealousy, when he's done a lot worse than that over the course of the series.)
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Luxor. He is probably the most popular character in the show.
** Amut has also developed quite a few fans due to her unique design. Even though she only appeared in one episode.
* JustHereForGodzilla: A lot of fans admit to watching the show just for Luxor's snarky remarks.
* MorePopularSpinoff: While still obscure, the show is more well-known than the aforementioned ''Jet Cat Clubhouse''. Or any of Jay Stephens' comic book work for that matter.
* NightmareFuel:
** Tut himself can be pretty damn scary, though most of the time he's more UglyCute.
** Set is definitely this. Serving as a KnightOfCerebus as well as having a terrifying design and a demonic voice, He is probably the most terrifying character on the show.
* TearJerker: "Something Sphinx", the perfect episode to woobify Luxor.
** "Keep Your Wandering Eye To Yourself" has Cleo being so angry at Tut she decides to stop being friends with him. Even if he was being selfish by spying on her, it's hard not to feel for poor Tut in the episode.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Cleo mentions [[https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/55371/rise-and-fall-heinzs-green-ketchup green ketchup]] in the first episode, with multicolored ketchup being a early 2000s fad.
** The technology in the show definetly puts it in the early 2000s. Everyone uses flip phones and in the episode "Bedhety Late Than Never" Cleo uses a video camera to film a robbery when people nowadays would use a smart phone.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Cleo falls under this in "Keep Your Wandering Eye To Yourself" Well, yes, it was wrong for Tut to spy on her out of jealousy of her hanging out with other friends, denouncing their friendship was a bit harsh considering he's done a lot worse than that over the course of the series and they've still stuck together and cleaned up his messes.
