* AntiClimaxBoss: The Splund, a large intimidating teleporting monster spends the majority of its appearance terrifying Boni and Drutt... then Berk immediately despatches him by popping him with a needle.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The Theme tune.
* CultClassic: The show's very fondly remembered by Brits and stop-motion animation fans in particular.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: [[DisneyDeath "'Ello Berk..."]]
* MemeticMutation: "It's bonkin' time! I loves a bit o' bonkin'!"
* NauseaFuel: The titular monster from 'The Horrid Thing.' It's a pile of yellow goo that oozes up through the trap door and then lifts its 'skin' apart to reveal its eye and, later, its mouth. And to top it off, Berk fed it to 'Im Upstairs.
* NightmareFuel:
** Ahem, ''Creepy, crawly slimy things that stick onto your skin, horrid beasts with tentacles that want to pull you in. Squirmy worms, slugs and snails that lie there in the goo... they'll wait down there forever til they get their hands on YOU!''
** The Splund is the definition of this with its creepy voice and laugh, giant grotesque face, and how it teleports around while [[FauxAffablyEvil casually threatening to eat Boni and Drutt.]]
** The screamer ending to the last episode. Especially since anybody who saw the last episode never saw it coming, and it's suggested that the Big Red Angry Thing at least did something rather nasty to the main characters!
* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: There were two. The first one was pretty well received, but the sequel... not so much.
* TearJerker: Rogg's 'death' in the last episode.
** Berk announcing his sudden departure from the castle after becoming so fed up from the creatures escaping through the trap door and the relentless demands of The Thing Upstairs in the Season 1 finale, shocking and saddening his friends (and the audience).
---> '''Boni''': You...you can't leave us, Berk.
---> '''Berk''': I'm sorry, Boni. I've had all I can take.
---> ''[Berk walks out; Rog starts to cry]''
---> '''Rog''': Is he really gone, Boni?
---> '''Boni''': ''[resigned]'' Yes, Rog. He's really gone. Gone forever.
*** The real GutPunch of that moment comes in the next scene with Berk standing outside the castle, prepared to leave, and then he gives one last goodbye ''[[BreakingTheFourthWall to the audience]]'' before he walks away and journeys off into the distance until he gradually disappears from view.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Berk is frequently abusive to Drutt and Boni, and is often [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman quick to kill off monsters from The Trap Door]] regardless of how much intelligence they display or how much of a threat they pose.
%% Adminisrivia/ZeroContextExample * TheWoobie: Berk at times.
