''But Martin succeeded at making the telepods work'' -- and Bartok Industries still owns them. They can do with them whatever they please. There's really nothing to stop B.I. from using them to "control the form and function of all life on Earth," as Bartok said. Why? Because B.I. is now the most powerful corporation on Earth, or ''one'' of the most powerful, at any rate. However, there's a slim chance that B.I. might soften up a bit now that Bartok is no longer the CEO and somebody more benevolent could take his place. Of course, Martin might have considered that and programmed the system to lock down afterward or wipe the system once again making the telepods useless.]]
4	* FridgeBrilliance: Martin's transformation and fly form are much more natural and deadly than his father's. This makes sense considering his father was a genetic mishmash put together by the teleporter while Martin is a naturally born hybrid.

6	** The kitten Martin gives Beth.
7	** During his RoaringRampageOfRevenge, Martinfly is cornered by a Rottweiler. The Rottweiler whimpers in submission at the frightening monster... and Martinfly literally [[PetTheDog pets the dog]], our first hint that he's still human deep down.
8	*** Later, when he comes across Beth in Bay 17, he doesn't attack her and moves on.
9	** What's the "magic word"? [[spoiler: DAD]].
10	* JerkassWoobie: Stathis Borans, as he becomes an embittered drunk following the loss of Veronica as well as being rendered a cripple due to his hand and foot getting dissolved in the last film. While the sequel does not bring it up, it is also implied Borans lost his job as a science magazine editor when he is forced to receive a disability retirement following the loss of his hand and foot.
11	* MagnificentBastard: [[TeenGenius Martin Brundle]] is the son of Seth Brundle and Veronica Quaife. Born with accelerated aging and maturity due to inborn mutations, Martin shows a [[ChildProdigy genius level intellect at a young age]], as well as a knack for technological know-how. As his mutation begins taking hold, Martin refuses to use the cure to avoid mutating an innocent. Realizing the cruelty and intentions of his father figure, Anton Bartok, Martin flees the facility, and creates a password to prevent Bartok from using the Telepods at the risk of losing the data. Seemingly giving into his mutation, Martin retains his human mind in his rampage, brutally [[OneManArmy slaughtering Bartok's staff]] sent to capture and study him, stopping to sympathetically pet a security dog sent to sniff him out. Defeating Bartok himself, Martin puppeteers him into entering the Telepods password, and directs Beth into correctly activating the machine, ending with Martin successfully curing himself where his father failed, while leaving Bartok as miserably mutated abomination.
12	* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: Martinfly dragging Bartok to the teleporter pod [[MeaningfulEcho in the same fashion his late father (the original Brundlefly) dragged his mother]], especially when you consider [[PayEvilUntoEvil how much Bartok has it coming]].]]
13	** Martin as Martinfly killing the two scientists who treated him like crap along with Scorby who was a petty Jerkass which would have been horrfic enough to make anyone feel bad for them if not for the fact that they went along with Bartok's plan to use Martin to get the Telepods to work again and that they clearly don't care much for him therefore it's easy to root for Martinfly to kill them.
14	** Martinfly's sense of restraint and control compared to Brundlefly, both mentally and physically. His full monstrous form is a more coherent lifeform compared to Brundlefly, looking less like a spindly, fragile freak and more like a sturdy apex predator. Despite this however, as noted above, he's still fully in control, and knows exactly who to blame for why he is the way he is, and ultimately ''doesn't '' fall to the same hubris and psychological degradation that befell Seth.
15	* {{Narm}}: The concept of a "magic word" is introduced early on and becomes central to the plot's resolution by way of the password that will allow the telepods to work as intended. However, anyone who saw the first movie and remembers Seth's initial wooing of Veronica is going to be hard-pressed not to predict that whenever the idea is brought up, said word is going to be ''cheeseburger''.
16	* {{Sequelitis}}: Definitely not considered anywhere near as good as its immediate tragic psychological thriller predecessor, although it is better regarded than the two sequels to the 1950's original.
17	* VindicatedByHistory: While the film originally received negative reception upon its release due to being more a standard Good vs. Evil story with a happy ending rather than the psychological horror-tragedy of the previous, it's gained a growing audience who appreciate it as being a satisfying conclusion to the Brundle family story. The practical effects have aged remarkably well, especially considering the stiff competition that was the first film's Brundlefly effects, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn't get misty-eyed at Martin having to MercyKill his childhood dog. The fact that Martin's secret passcode to trigger the telepods turns out to be "DAD" can be seen as Seth finally making up for his mistakes through his son.
18	* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Director Chris Walas was also the special effects engineer for the Oscar-winning make-up and creature effects in the first film, and it continues here. Said effects are held up by both audience and critics as among the best parts of the film even to the present.
