* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Is Maggie really an unreasonably selfish, boastful {{Jerkass}} [[AssholeVictim who deserves all the bad things that happen to her]], or is she a [[TheWoobie sympathetic]] ButtMonkey whose rudeness is a retaliation against the world conspiring against her? What makes this curious is that in some episodes, she's shown as a normal, civilized person just wanting to have a good day, while in others she's a selfish, pompous bitch who thinks she's better than everyone else.
** Does Aldrin brag about his success as an athlete simply because he's an [[{{Jerkass}} asshole]] trying to belittle Maggie, or does he do it as a retaliation against Maggie's [[LoopholeAbuse loophole-abusing]] methods of becoming famous herself? It's made more curious by the fact that Aldrin actually worked really hard to get where he is now, rather than cutting corners like Maggie does.
* AmericansHateTingle: ''The Buzz on Maggie'' never caught on with audiences outside the US (particularly Australia and England). According to ''WesternAnimation/LongLiveTheRoyals'' creator Sean Szeles (who was working as an animator for the show at the time), [[http://seanszeles.blogspot.com/2005/08/buzz-on-maggie.html?showComment=1125599280000&m=1#c112559928859392636 its failure overseas was the reason for its cancellation.]]
* AudienceAlienatingPremise: While the show was generally liked by most of the people that watched it (a select few of which consider it a legit CultClassic while most of the others merely consider it SoOkayItsAverage), it is an extremely (in fact, probably parodically) stereotypical SliceOfLife tween sitcom aimed at tween girls ([[MisaimedMarketing naturally a crowd known for being rather squeamish to put it]] lightly) that [[GrossOutShow takes place in an overflowing garbage dump infested with sentient anthropomorphic flies, sentient, visibly humongous germs, and various other types of insects who may or may not have gained their anthropomorphism from prolonged radioactive fluid/gas exposure]]. These reasons lead to the show [[ScrewedByTheNetwork only lasting one season]].
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The ThemeTune is not only catchy, but also a BadassBoast. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akcGbyfPu3I Have a listen for yourself]].
* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** Some fans (mainly girls) can relate to Maggie in the case of having dreams to become famous that are often sabatoged by school, friends, and family, getting blamed for others' faults, having AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents, an [[BigBrotherBully asshole older sibling]], AnnoyingYoungerSibling, and her typical "gal pal" activities. On the other hand, though, she's viewed as a [[ItsAllAboutMe self-centered]], [[ManipulativeBitch manipulative]], [[ApatheticCitizens apathetic]] {{Jerkass}} who [[LoopholeAbuse loopholes all her obstacles]] and [[AssholeVictim deserves all the bad things that happen to her]].
** Some people support Rayna for being more sophisticated than her best friend Maggie and playing the OnlySaneWoman role to her oftentimes, while others think she is NotSoAboveItAll and no better than Maggie when it comes to common sense.
* DiagnosedByTheAudience:
** Maria Monarch ticks off a lot of boxes for UsefulNotes/AspergerSyndrome: she's generally very quiet and introverted, doesn't care much about her appearance (at least before [[SheCleansUpNicely her makeover]]), has strange vocal patterns, isn't good at speaking publicly, is clumsy and awkward, has [[SensoryOverload sensitive hearing]], behaves dramatically when under pressure, and tends to shake or jump when excited. However, we never see any of her obsessions, which is a major part of what defines Asperger's, although this could be because Aspie girls' interests generally aren't quite as unusual as those of their male counterparts. [[note]]Usually, girls with Asperger's have "typical" girly interests, such as horses, classical literature or keeping things neat and tidy, while boys will have more "nerdy" interests, such as geography, anatomy, zoology, palaeontology, science fiction etc. There are exceptions to the rule, of course, but this is more of a general rule of thumb. [[/note]]
** In "Sick Days, Inc.", Maggie and Rayna's first customer appears to have Down Syndrome and he doesn't get basic math.
* HilariousInHindsight: In the Latin American Spanish dub, this wouldn't be the only time where Creator/GabyUgarte [[Anime/PokemonTheSeries voices a character named Dawn]].
* JerkassWoobie:
** Sure, Maggie's a selfish {{jerkass}} who behaves like a brat at times and cuts corners in life, but when taking into account her ButtMonkey status, her overpotective, unfair, and embarrassing parents, [[BigBrotherBully asshole older brother]], {{annoying younger sibling}}, and the fact that she's frequently victimized by a cold-hearted AlphaBitch for no apparent reason, it kind of gives her a FreudianExcuse.
** Aldrin also qualifies in the episode at his uncle's farm. He's been made to do all the work for years, while his siblings get doted on. When Maggie offers to team up with him in a scheme that will net them both favored status, she double-crosses Aldrin after he helps her and takes sole credit for the idea.
* {{Moe}}: For a show about bugs, the animators really know how to [[UglyCute make them look cute]].
** Pupert, Maggie's little brother.
** Bella, being just a baby.
** Maggie's mother due to her Doormat personality.
** Maggie herself, while a BitchInSheepsClothing, still has a cute child-like appearance to her that nevertheless makes her this.
** Rayna is one of the BlackAndNerdy variety.
** Maria Monarch, both before and after her makeover.
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: In Bugtillion, Maggie manages to do a good enough job at imitating a proper lady that she manages to charm her rival's mother into voting to let her attend the ball (at which point her rival drops her jaw in shock).
* NightmareFuel: In "Honey Stripers", a nurse's angry reaction when Maggie contradicts her after she assures a young patient that having a bandage removed doesn't hurt.
* PresumedFlop: It's one of the most forgotten Creator/DisneyChannel series, only lasting a single season. You'd assume that this was due to poor ratings, as it is perceived as little more than SoOkayItsAverage by many who do bother to seek it out years later. In actuality, it boasted high ratings in the United States and it was beloved by critics. The show was cancelled because, despite domestic success, it [[AmericansHateTingle completely failed to gain an audience overseas]].
* TheScrappy: Aldrin and Dawn, due to being complete {{Jerkass}}es.
** Aldrin, at least, has a potential FreudianExcuse when you see how his uncle views him as DumbMuscle while lavishing praise on Maggie (and later Pupert) simply for being younger and cuter.
* SoOkayItsAverage: The general opinion of the show is that it was a typical tween sitcom with some creativity and the occasional moment of wit, not to mention that the characters are bugs.
* SpiritualAdaptation: Hmm... a Creator/{{Disney}} animated product that follows the lives of anthropomorphic bugs. [[WesternAnimation/ABugsLife Where have we seen that before?]]
* UglyCute: A number of characters, including Maggie herself. Kind of to be expected, since they're all bugs.
* TheWoobie: Pupert whenever he's belittled by his older siblings or is the ButtMonkey. Due to being TheBabyOfTheBunch, he has a reason to be spoiled since he probably doesn't know any better. His status as both a ButtMonkey and TheWoobie becomes a plot device of the episode "Funball", where he is used as a basketball by Aldrin, and thus he gets physical pain inflicted upon him.
