* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: While it was nowhere near the scope of [[AllegedlyFreeGame gacha]] LongRunners like ''VideoGame/GranblueFantasy'', ''VideoGame/FateGrandOrder'' and ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'' and getting bogged down with several factors[[note]]Not being a TurnBasedStrategy ''Super Robot Wars'' installment (which [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsDD its successor]] does), with character designs that some believed fell into FetishRetardant[[/note]], many certainly didn't expect ''X-Ω'' would last for five years before its service came to a close, especially when the life expectancy of various gacha games is usually short - five years would be considered "long".
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The rendition of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBSRoKA8oA Preserved Roses]]", the opening of ''Anime/ValvraveTheLiberator'', that played during the ''Valvrave'' event, and ends up being reused for another ''Valvrave'' event in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsDD''. Once again, Creator/BandaiNamcoEntertainment did justice to music sung by two [[Music/TMRevolution big]] [[Creator/NanaMizuki names]] for the {{Anime}} medium.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Of the OriginalGeneration in this game, Olivie Opell, who serves as MissionControl - after seeing her gain a huge following in Japan, the creators gave Olivie her own original HumongousMecha which can be fielded in battle, alongside [[{{Fanservice}} a swimsuit picture for her]] SuperMovePortraitAttack. In addition, she's also the first character of ''X-Ω'' to get her own [[https://imgur.com/a/v6HUK pillow case and mouse pad products]], further solidifying her popularity compared to the other originals.
* FanNickname: Now on its own [[FanNickname/SuperRobotWars page]].
* FetishRetardant: ''Super Robot Wars'' has never been a stranger to {{Fanservice}} due to the character designs for its female OriginalGeneration, yet some fans find the use of it in ''X-Ω'' to be egregious - deliberate use of NavelDeepNeckline, bouncing chests, and ShakingTheRump during a SuperMovePortraitAttack are present in the game, coupled with gross body proportions. Furthermore, that one character wears a blatant outfit tailored for a [=BDSM=] motif adds to the distastefulness[[note]]While [[Characters/MasouKishin Saphine Grace]] and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsZ Xine Espio]] [[{{Stripperific}} have similarly provocative designs]], both are supporting characters; [[spoiler:Feil, who's really a BrainwashedAndCrazy]] Shatte Judevesten, is the heroine of ''X-Ω''[[/note]]. Various updates have only accentuated this view, as female Melsgear pilots became inexplicably more and more {{Stripperific}} with flimsy justifications[[labelnote:Example]]The skimpy piloting suits are for a MotionCaptureMecha system similar to ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'', yet it seems to have been designed for [[WorldOfBuxom maximizing an emphasis on the user's chest]][[/labelnote]], to the point where even their ''casual attire'', shown in the October 2020 event, also falls victim to being {{Fanservice}} - all while [[SpotlightStealingSquad they take center-stage on the game's loading screens and action menu for maximum visibility]].

** [[http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/751148-dai-3-ji-super-robot-taisen-z-jigoku-hen/69156893 A thread]] on Website/GameFAQs inquired whether ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'' would fit into ''Super Robot Wars'', given the initiative of ''X-Ω'' was to incorporate as many series as possible (like ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOE''), despite {{Kaiju}} being explicitly non-{{Mecha}}. According to this game, yes, it can.
** On the WildMassGuessing [[WMG/SuperRobotWars page]] for the franchise, one user predicted that ''Film/GSaviour'' would be included to {{Troll}} fans and another responded by pointing out that fans might be willing to put up with ''G-Saviour'' if it meant that [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Daizyujin]] would be in future games. Take a wild guess which {{Mecha}} got its ''Super Robot Wars'' debut first in ''X-Ω''.
* {{Narm}}: During the "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPe3sZniDsk One-Year Anniversary Event]]", all of the main characters of their respective shows join in unison for a "HRAAAAAAAA" moment...[[https://twitter.com/pdoqYl4ZWPOotVP/status/788759217146429440 except]] for [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Shinji Ikari]], who instead looks downtrodden and uninterested.
* PlayTheGameSkipTheStory: Due to the extreme state of NoExportForYou and ''X-Ω'' continuously being updated, with the existence of a "skip" button, there were many players who couldn't be bothered to try and search for the main story and the OriginalGeneration (the women, in particular, fell into FetishRetardant), treating it as nothing more than just events that can be glossed over[[note]]Even then, the originals' only purpose was so players can get {{Experience Point}}s to increase Player Rank, as well as extra Crystals for the gacha element[[/note]]. {{Downplayed}} with the limited-time events, since they only happen once in a while, but featured licensed series which {{Mecha}} enthusiasts had already known about through interacting with the event character of that moment.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: If the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ'' saga managed to do a bit for [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Nena Trinity]], ''X-Ω'' does this further within her limited time period, by basically giving her a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG5mWT6_u2g redemption arc]] and teaming up with [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange and the Arzenal crew (and Salamandinay) against Embryo]]. What also helps is that [[Anime/AuraBattlerDunbine Chum Huau]] manages to become her MoralityPet.
* UnexpectedCharacter: Primarily "One-Time only events"
** ''Anime/IdolmasterXenoglossia'' and "Kantam Robo" from ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'': the former is a HumongousMecha [[RecycledWithAGimmick adaptation of]] ''VideoGame/TheIdolmaster'' video game, something heavily reviled by its fanbase (the mecha fandom, on the other side consider it to be the ''only'' acceptable version of Idolmaster), while the latter is meant to a ShowWithinAShow {{Parody}} of HumongousMecha {{Anime}} from a deliberate GagSeries. It seemed like ''Kantam Robo'' was the most far-fetched example yet for ''Super Robot Wars'' until it was beaten by ''Mujin Gattai Kisaragi'', which originates from ''Anime/TheIdolmaster'' {{Anime}} (a more faithful adaptation of the game) - essentially, it is a RealTrailerFakeMovie [[ShowWithinAShow Within A Show]] ''that only appeared for two minutes in one episode''. [[VideoGame/TheIdolmasterCinderellaGirls ''Kirarin Robo'']], a similar case to ''Mujin Gattai Kisaragi'', was also added later on.
** {{Kaiju}} may have made appearances in the form of enemies from various HumongousMecha series in multiple licensed ''Super Robot Wars'' installments before ''X-Ω'' (such as ''Anime/FafnerInTheAzureDeadAggressor'' and ''Anime/{{Godannar}}''), but never in a true playable capacity. That the "[[Franchise/{{Godzilla}} King of Monsters]]" should be the one to lead the charge was a pleasant surprise, but one that might have been done deliberately - during [[AprilFoolsDay April 1, 2016]], ''Godzilla vs Evangelion'' was "announced" due to the latter's creator Creator/HideakiAnno working on ''Film/ShinGodzilla''. Merchandisers quickly caught onto the joke and milked it for all of its worth in the form of [[http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/07/28/godzilla-cells-awaken-in-terrifying-evangelion-crossover-figure action]] [[http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/06/01-1/pre-orders-for-evangelion-colored-millennium-mechagodzilla-begin figures]] and [[http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/06/28-1/modern-artist-takashi-murakami-provides-latest-godzilla-vs-evangelion-visual artwork]]. Whether this correlated to Godzilla getting an entry in ''X-Ω'' is unknown.
*** Mechagodzilla also appears in this game, though it's the [[Film/GodzillaAgainstMechagodzilla Kiryu version piloted by Akane Yashiro]], something most ''Godzilla'' fans had forgotten about. In a similar vein to the ''Godzilla vs. Evangelion'' joke, an Evangelion Unit-01 repaint of the Kiryu figure is also playable, marking the second time an action figure has been featured in ''Super Robot Wars'' since [[Music/{{Vocaloid}} Fei-Yen HD]] in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsUX''.
** Played with [=MoiMoi=], the SeriesMascot from ''Umasugi Wave'', a ''Super Robot Wars''-oriented net radio show hosted by Creator/TomokazuSugita, [[Music/JAMProject Masaaki Endoh]], Creator/MaiAizawa and Rie Saitou: the reason [=MoiMoi=] was added was [[MilestoneCelebration to celebrate the show's 500th episode]].
** Subverted with ''Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger'': with ''Godzilla'' representing {{Kaiju}}, fans knew it was just a matter of time for ''{{Tokusatsu}}'' to be given the same treatment for a ''Super Robot Wars'' entry in ''X-Ω''. Given ''Zyuranger'' is best known as the ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' show adapted into ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'', arguably the most popular entry outside of Japan, international players anticipated it would be the first to represent the genre.
** Similar to the {{Kaiju}} example above, straight-forward robots (units that aren't "piloted") were abundant in prior ''Super Robot Wars'' installments: the supporting {{Mecha}} from ''Anime/{{GaoGaiGar}}'' are such examples, but they weren't the protagonists of that series. The "Blue Bomber" himself, Franchise/MegaMan, marks the first instance of this case.
** ''Anime/LastHope2018'' provides an interesting example: its announcement for ''X-Ω'' was made ''in the midst of the show's run'', not after. The only time a series made its debut in ''Super Robot Wars'' before it properly ended was ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'' in ''VideoGame/ShinSuperRobotWars''.
** When the ''Eldoran Series'' made its debut in ''X-Ω'', the first entry that got in was ''Anime/NekketsuSaikyoGosaurer'' rather than the more well-known ''Anime/ZettaiMutekiRaijinOh''. Part of it may have to do with a Go-Saurer plastic model figure that was announced in the same live stream as the show's feature.
** ''Shonen Ashibe GO! GO! Goma-chan'' might be [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJyCgv14Otc the most absurd]] one out of all of them yet: a SliceOfLife {{Anime}} geared towards children ''without any {{Mecha}}''.
** ''Manga/PopTeamEpic'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wmn8I9reBUk Seriously?!]] Taking this up to eleven is '''Creator/MasamiObari himself''' [[https://youtu.be/h6USU2yKM7k?t=1787 appearing alongside them]] during one of the event's cutscenes!
** Although ''Anime/LittleWitchAcademia2017'' does feature a {{Mecha}} in one episode, seeing a show that is otherwise a comedic WizardingSchool SliceOfLife {{Anime}} aimed at younger audiences with little to do with {{Mecha}} be [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxHPURCnjAg featured]] is still an unexpected and surprising move.
** Within ''Manga/ShinMazingerZERO'', players were mostly expecting that it'll combine the events with the ''Anime/ShinMazinger'' continuity, just like it did with ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'' and ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsX''. Despite the ''ZERO'' version of Kouji appearing, people weren't surprised since they ended up adding the ''Mazin Emperor G'' (with ''ZERO'' Kouji being voiced by the ''Shin Mazinger'' [[Creator/KenjiAkabane voice actor]]). Suddenly, the ''ZERO'' version of [[https://youtu.be/Tc29jleMHkc Tetsuya Tsurugi and the Great Mazinkaiser]] was added, catching many players off-guard (bonus points for also throwing in the ''ZERO'' version of Jun Honoo, even if it was in cutscenes only).
