* AccidentalInnuendo: "Press A to do it!" LetsPlay/ProtonJon had some fun with this during NCS's playthrough of the game:
-->Jon: Sit in that car! Do it! There's some horsesRapidash! Don't do it; that's gross!
* CommonKnowledge: It's not uncommon to see people who assume that Todd's initial appearance in the anime (the episodes "Pokémon Paparazzi", "The Ultimate Test", and "The Breeding Center Secret") were done in order to promote the game's release. In fact, Todd's appearance in the anime predated Pokémon Snap's release by 8 months (with the gap potentially being even larger had the "Pokémon Shock" incident not delayed the episodes from airing), which would suggest that Todd was originally created specifically for the anime.
* HilariousInHindsight: Check the main page.
* ItsShortSoItSucks: As a result of the low amount of Pokémon and courses, the main game can be beaten in just a couple hours. HundredPercentCompletion doesn't take much longer.
* MemeticMutation:
** "Wonderful!"Professor Oak's enthusiastic catchphrase after the player presents a good photo. In Pokémon forums, fans quote it to express satisfaction towards various topics, often posting the word alongside pictures of Oak's head.
** "You were close!"By contrast, Professor Oak will say this whenever the player presents a photo that doesn't make the grade. Since the judging system can be extremely finicky, this line can be expected to crop up constantly regardless of the actual quality of the photos, which has led to its notoriety.
** "CHAAAAR!"The Volcano stage features a group of six Charmander who constantly go "Char!" when you're not throwing Pokémon Food. This particular part became somewhat of the game's SignatureScene, due to how hilarious their cries are.
* NightmareFuel:
** The CharizardInitially a Charmeleon, but will Evolve if you knock it in the lava., at the end of the Volcano level. Throw something on it, and it'll try to Flamethrower you.
** The Gyarados at the Valley's mid point is known to scare many players, especially due to how it suddenly comes out of the waterfall roaring.
* ScrappyMechanic: Pokémon needing to always be centered in the picture to score the most points is looked down upon as certain pictures could end up looking a lot better depending on different angles that the Pokémon picture was taken. This is especially annoying when trying to take pictures of Magneton as there is a large gap in the center of the Pokemon which makes centering the Pokémon on the photo while still retaining the bonus rather tricky.
* ThatOneSidequest:
** Since Zubat are so fast and small, it's really difficult to take a picture of them, let alone a good one.
** Goldeen is one of the hardest Pokémon to get a good picture of due to how quick it jumps in-and-out of the water during the Valley course. Dratini is also loathed for similar reasons, especially because it's so slender and thus hard to center the shot.
* VindicatedByHistory: The number one complaint about this game upon release by fans, next to ItsShortSoItSucks? It's not like VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue. Fast forward over a decade later, and everyone was talking about how Pokémon Snap 2 for UsefulNotes/WiiU would be a perfect fit. A Snap-like minigame was present in 2016's VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon, and a full-on new installment for the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch was announced in June 2020 and was released in April 2021.
