* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Some of the more creative user-made levels, including one where the Wheelchair Guy is just one of several clones, and one where the Irresponsible Dad is smaller than a mouse.
** Quite a lot of user-made levels depict Wheelchair Guy as a pedophile.
* AngstWhatAngst: The Irresponsible Dad tends to react to the deaths of his kid with a mildly annoyed "Dammit!".
* ArchivePanic: There's no way for anybody to ever play all of the available levels due the the massive volume of users adding them. Then again, there's little reason to want to play all of them due to their repetition and general low quality.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: To Victory by Music/JTMusic.
* BrokenBase: The creator's attitude towards Let's Plays in general (as seen in the trivia page) has split the base. Some think that this is a case of him being too defensive, others think that he's entitled to his opinion and is at least content to leave them up, unlike other developers.
* ComplacentGamingSyndrome:
** A lot of levels are made for the Segway Guy. Most of the time, this is due to the fact that they require someone to be standing upright, especially with games that have you throw stuff.
** If it's not limited to the Segway guy, it'll be limited to the Irresponsible Dad. It's more noticeable because, while the Segway guy is incredibly apt for gimmick levels and shows up accordingly, most levels limited to the Irresponsible Dad are just standard obstacle courses that could be run by pretty much any character, and there's really no reason to limit the roster except that the Irresponsible Dad is popular.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: You'd think general dismemberment of handicapped elders, children (and one toddler), and even Santa Claus would be nothing but horribly outrageous, but this game manages to go so far with it that it becomes hilarious.
* DemonicSpiders:
** Any hazard could be made deadly with clever placement, but special mention goes to the Harpoon Gun. It has perfect accuracy, lightning speed, piercing ability, and is heavy. This combination means you'll be lucky if it doesn't make you literally explode on impact. Even if you survive, an anchored one in your body means you might as well restart; it's near impossible to get free. It's no wonder that most obstacle course levels have the harpoons nerfed.
** Chompers, which are blade weapons connected to a pin joint. If they end up in your character's body, it's only a matter of time before they tear them apart.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Irresponsible Dad is without a doubt the most popular of the current characters, likely due to being a favorite of many of the Let's Players who have taken a shot at the game. It doesn't hurt that he's tailor-made for VideoGameCrueltyPotential due to his son.
* FanNickname:
** Before the Effective Shopper's gender was confirmed to be female, /v/ referred to her as Gabe Newell.
** Music/JustinBieber for the Irresponsible Dad's kid. There are even entire levels devoted to killing him.
*** The kid is also known as Timmy and some fans believe his name is ADogNamedDog "Little Boy".
*** popularized the name "Billy" for the kid.
*** Jack has came up with nicknames for pretty much every character in the game. Such as "Betty" for the Effective Shopper, "Bobby" for Irresponsible Dad, "Segway Steve" for Segway Guy, and "Pogo Pete" for Pogostick Man to name a few.
*** WebVideo/GrayStillPlays has given rise to new names for the characters such as "Creator/TomHardy" for the kid, and "UsefulNotes/RichardNixon" for Segway Guy.
** Explorer Guy is frequently referred to as "Franchise/IndianaJones" due to his resemblance to him as well as the fact that he rides around in a mine cart.
** Sometimes Pogo Guy is simply referred to as "Nova", thanks to his voice actor.
* GameBreaker:
** Though it takes practice, it is possible to fly using the Wheelchair Guy's rocket. Needless to say, this makes clearing most levels very easy.
** The Irresponsible Dad can do it too, to some extent. Mashing the lean keys will have him glide for as long as you can keep it up.
** Beating the "It Keeps Happening" level is ridiculously easy if you're playing as Pogostick Man.
** Helicopter Man can straight up fly, and therefore has maneuverability incomparable to other characters.
* GoodBadBugs: Though some of said bugs fall into this category.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: The featured level "BOSS BATTLE MEDLEY" has a generic anime schoolgirl who must be dealt ClothingDamage before you're allowed to pass. If you haven't already pressed the Eliminate JB button, he will show up and provide the girl with a towel, ask if she's okay and proclaim that there is "ONE LESS LONELY GIRL" before killing you.
* HilariousInHindsight: One popular level was called "Jurassic World" before the actual film was announced.
* LowTierLetdown: The Explorer Guy is one of the least popular characters in the game. Very few fans like him because he's difficult to control, very top-heavy and prone to falling over, can't jump, and a relatively useless special ability (see ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman). It's very rare seeing players pick this guy or there being maps where he's the set character.
* MemeticBadass: If you're on a spike fall, pogo jump or anything of the sort, more often than not, the most difficult part of it will be labelled "Jim Bonacci".
* MemeticLoser: Likewise, if you're on an aforementioned map or something of the sort that measures your skill, the least difficult part or close to it will almost always be labeled "Music/JustinBieber". Also frequently appears as an easy target in sword throws.
* MemeticMolester: The Wheelchair Guy is occasionally portrayed as a pedophile who preys on the Irresponsible Dad's kid.
* MemeticMutation:
** "Dammit!"
** "Ow, my leg!"
** "I BLEW MY BUTT APART!!"
* MisaimedFandom: There are many levels named for the series, but are merely about creating contraptions/animations to kill NPC characters for fun rather than having anything to do with the signature aspect of choice in the devices. Given that the gore is what people remember most, though, it's understandable.
* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: The victory sound. Dun dun NUUUUUUUH! (pssshh)
* NightmareFuel:
** A rather major case of YMMV, as to some people all of the death and dismemberment in the game can come off as more disturbing than funny.
** Some of the user-made levels can also contain plenty of nightmarish content, such as the ones made by user "kirbypwnage" (especially his "Haunted Mansion" levels).
* SelfImposedChallenge:
** Playing through levels as the Moped Couple usually counts. The moped's high weight makes it difficult to maneuver, and it usually can't be flipped over once it's upside down (at least without killing its riders). Its density makes the riders exceptionally prone to being ripped in half by sudden jolts. Expect any level forcing them to be HarderThanHard.
** Here's something to try out: find one of those Pogostick Man "Harpoon dodge" levels with multiple stages, and try to get impaled at least once every round without dying in the process.
* SpiritualSuccessor: Basically ' R-rated, drug-addicted stepbrother.
* ThatOneLevel: "99% Impossible" levels, which at least 90 percent of the time are fully dependent on luck in order to complete them and have the difficult-to-use Pogostick Guy as the playable character. The ones that are actually well-made aren't usually any less difficult, but at least that's because they are difficult for more legitimate reasons.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: After Adobe Flash support ended in December 31, 2020, they launched a Java version of this game. The Java version runs far more slower and severely slows down the browser (especially Google Chrome) in low-end [=PCs=] with fewer GB of RAM than the Adobe Flash version which it was capable to run perfectly well even in low-end [=PCs=] meaning that low-end [=PCs=] users cannot longer play user created levels since user created levels can only be played on the official website of the game which runs on Java version.
