* FanNickname: Thanks to WebVideo/JonTron, some like to call the games Clock Towel.
* FirstInstallmentWins: Of the four installments in the Clock Tower series, the 1995 original is the most well-known and fondly remembered. The sequels, on the other hand, are divisive due to their changes in story and gameplay styles.
* HilariousInHindsight: The first two games centered around a powerless protagonist, who could only flee from and perhaps temporarily trip up their foe. Back then, this was a pretty unusual idea for gamers used to shooting away all of their problems. Now? Not so much.
* MemeticMutation: Jokes about Rock-Paper-Scissors. For example, Franchise/MegaMan beats Scissorman (Because his Japanese name is "Rockman") but there is no "Paperman".
* SpiritualAdaptation: Of the films of iconic horror director DarioArgento, particularly Film/Suspiria1977 and Film/Phenomena.
* SpiritualSuccessor: VideoGame/HauntingGround is a spiritual successor to this series. At one point, it was intended to be an actual sequel, but the Clock Tower name was dropped during development. Another successor was produced by Nude Maker under the title "VideoGame/NightCry."
* VindicatedByHistory: The Clock Tower Series as a whole did not have an easy time when they first came out. Clock Tower: The First Fear didn't get released outside of Japan, Clock Tower 1/2 received mixed reviews and was only recommended to people who enjoyed point-and-click games, Clock Tower: The Struggle Within/Ghosthead bombed, and Clock Tower 3 sold poorly with many nitpicking the fantastical and action elements. However, despite its flaws, over time the series has become a beloved CultClassic with a dedicated fanbase. Nowadays, many cite Clock Tower as the grandfather of the horror-survival genre, and its fan dedication eventually led to Hifumi Kono making a SpiritualSuccessor called VideoGame/NightCry.
