'''Nicholas David "Nick" Dinsmore''' (born December 17, 1975) is an American {{Professional Wrestl|ing}}er and trainer from Jeffersonville, IN best known for his work in Wrestling/{{WWE}} from 2004-2007 as '''Eugene.''' Dinsmore debuted in 1997 in the USWA in Memphis. When that closed, he jumped to Music City Wrestling in Nashville, where he formed the tag team Limited Edition with Wrestling/RobConway. They would hold the [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/tn/nashville/musiccity/musiccity-t.html NWA MCW North American Tag Team Titles]] until they had to vacate due to Dinsmore being injured. Dinsmore went on to OVW, where he was both a very successful wrestler, holding the [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/ky/ovw/ovw-h.html OVW Heavyweight Title]] a record 10 times and the [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/ky/ovw/ovw-t.html OVW Southern Tag Team Title]] a record 11 times, and a trainer, working with, among others, Wrestling/RandyOrton. He also wrestled for the Heartland Wrestling Association, holding the [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/oh/hwa/hwa-h.html HWA Heavyweight Title]] for a little over a week in August 2001. He made his [=PPV=] debut as the Doink the Clown in the "[[Wrestling/RonSimmons A]][[Wrestling/JohnBradshawLayfield PA]] Invitational Bar Room Brawl" at ''WWE Wrestling/{{Vengeance}} 2003''. He debuted in WWE as "Eugene" in 2004, with a gimmick of ''Raw'' [[CorruptCorporateExecutive General Manager]] Wrestling/EricBischoff's "wrestling savant" nephew, who Bischoff instructed Wrestling/WilliamRegal to "train" and generally look after. Eugene and Regal would have one run with the [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/wwe/wwe-world-t.html WWE World Tag Team Titles]]. Dinsmore was released in 2007 and would go on to compete for a variety of promotions. He was previously a trainer for ''WWE NXT'' until he was released again in 2014. Dinsmore is currently active in the independent scene.

!!! "It's all about Mr. Wrestling's Tropes":
* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/EricBischoff on Raw. Wrestling/RobConway while working in OVW.
* AscendedExtra: Showed up on Raw in a non-wrestling context for a while, at one point putting on some "wrestling gear" while he danced behind Wrestling/JimRoss and Wrestling/JerryLawler as they did commentary. JR of course being polite but neither took him seriously. Then a little training montage with Wrestling/WilliamRegal was shown...
* AscendedFanboy: Eugene had been a wrestling fan since he was a little kid.
* BadassCape: Eugene pretended to be like ComicBook/{{Superman}} on Saturday Night Main Event.
* CallingYourAttacks: Yelling "Pedigree" for his Wrestling/TripleH action figure.
* ChestInsignia: Late in Eugene's run, he started wearing a [=superhero=] costume with a backwards "E" on it.
* CoolTeacher: During his role in OVW, he trained or helped train many wrestlers.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Made some appearances in Wrestling/{{WCW}} in 1999 and 2000 as a jobber-to-the-stars under his real name.
* FaceHeelTurn: WWE attempted to give Eugene one by having him attack Hacksaw Jim Duggan, but it did not work ''at all''. U-gene later would get a more successful turn in JCW.
* FalseReassurance: In WWE, Bischoff used this to hype up Eugene before his debut. While he admitted Eugene was [[{{Nepotism}}was his nephew]], he assured William Regal that he was a unique and "special" talent. The [[ButtMonkey hapless]] Regal took it at face value and sought out Eugene himself to start mentoring him. He learned just how "special" the guy was...
* FinishingMove
** (as Nick Dinsmore): [[SuplexFinisher German Suplex]]
** As Eugene, he would first do an airplane spin and then go to the top rope and hit a double ax handle the commentators dubbed "the sledge" while they were still dizzy. If he was not, then he would copy other wrestlers' finishers ([[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson Rock Bottom]], [[Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin Stone Cold Stunner]])
* {{Flanderization}}: After Eugene's first run was cut short by injury, when he returned it was like the bookers had forgotten that what made the character work was that Eugene was an IdiotSavant in the ring. They reduced him to just an idiot, and he ended up as a {{Jobber}}.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Albeit, a {{face}} example. He started out as someone that corrupt general manager Eric Bischoff only kept around as a favor to a family member. Eugene wound up getting bigger pops than the main event itself, which were featuring then internet darling Chris Benoit and the always over Wrestling/ShawnMichaels.
* GameBreakingInjury: During a cage match, Triple H used him to introduce a top rope knee attack he would use to separate wrestlers' shoulders. Funnily enough, it ''only'' worked on Eugene.
* GroinAttack: Eugene's fear of Wrestling/{{Umaga}} cause him to accidentally shoot his manager, Armando Alejandro Estrada, in the crotch with a T-shirt gun the divas normally used to get pops from the fans.
* HeroicSecondWind: Duplicated Missing Link's by way of having a {{hard head}}, and would get upset if hit on the head too many times before hitting himself on the head to show how upset he was. He also did the Wrestling/UltimateWarrior's rope shaking thing when Nic Dinsmore returned to OVW as Eugene.
* IdiotSavant: This was Eugene's original gimmick - his DisabilitySuperpower was the vast amount of wrestling knowledge he had, from chain grappling to innovative impact moves to moves that hadn't been used since the 1980s like the Polish Hammer.
* IHaveManyNames: His own, Eugene, U-Gene, Special E, Wrestling/DoinkTheClown, Conquistador Dos
* InterGenerationalFriendship: Eugene had many with many WWE veterans and "legends".
* ItsAllAboutMe: The shirt he's wearing in the first picture reads, "It's All About [[RedBaron Mr. Wrestling]] Nick Dinsmore."
* KidAppealCharacter: As Eugene. His entrance music, "Child's play", seemed more along the lines of something you'd hear on early morning education shows than late night wrestling.
* ManipulativeEditing: Video packages usually focused on the fact he attacked Triple H and cost him the world heavy weight championship, not showing how Triple H had used Eugene's lack of intelligence for his own benefit, had the other three members of Evolution beat him down, or was only close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship because Evolution was cheating for him.
* MoralityPet: For William Regal, to the point that Wrestling/TripleH's attempts to manipulate him brought out a previously unseen PapaWolf side of Regal.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: As Dr. Nicholas Dinsmore
* NameOfPower: How else do you regularly win with a double ax handle in professional wrestling, post ECW and the "Attitude Era"?
* OpposedMentors: Two evil mentors in opposition, William Regal and Triple H. Regal being the one who actually had Eugene's well being in mind, in spite of his general thuggery and entrance music titled "Villain".
* ParlorGames: Eugene was made the ''Raw'' [=GM=] for the night on the July 5, 2004 episode. He started the episode by having Wrestling/RicFlair, Wrestling/StacyKeibler, Wrestling/YoshihiroTajiri, Tyson Tomko, Jonathan Coachman and Wrestling/JerryLawler play a game of Musical Chairs to determine who got a title shot that night. Jericho won, earning a shot at Randy Orton's Intercontinental Heavyweight Title.
* PowerStable: Both in OVW.
** Bolin Services
** The Team Players, led by Wrestling/JohnLaurinaitis
* TheMillstone: U-gene's efforts to help Jailbird and Zach Gowen kept them from winning matches in JCW.
* TagTeam: Limited Edition, later named Lords of the Ring, with Rob Conway. He and Conway would also briefly work as the {{masked luchador}} team Los Conquistadors.
* TagalongKid: HHH made him into this for Evolution, due to Eugene being a HorribleJudgeOfCharacter, to the point that the crowd actually turned on Eugene during the HHH/Flair/Eugene vs. Benoit/Edge match that was the main event for the July 5, 2004 ''Raw.''
* ThisLoserIsYou: With suggestions that the Eugene character was based on a real wrestling fan, it makes one wonder about how WWE sees their audience.
* TraumaticHaircut: Responsible for uncle Eric Bischoff getting one, since Eugene beat him in a hair vs hair match. Eugene would later get one himself for accidentally spilling a drink on Vince [=McMahon=].
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Eugene's opponents would insist on underestimating even after they should have realized that despite being mentally handicapped he was an excellent wrestler.
* UnderwearOfPower: His most common wrestling attire and wearing them was the signal Eugene was ready to pursue a role on the active roster.
* [[UnrelatedBrothers Unrelated Nephew]]: Of Eric Bischoff.
* WhamLine: "Triple H is my favorite wrestler!" After months of support from the Rock and Stone Cold against uncle Eric and Johnathan Coachman, as well as Eugene mimicking their moves.
** HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: And Triple H used this fact to his maximum advantage, Eugene none the wiser to how rotten his hero was or how much he was being used, till Evolution betrayed him to stop Eugene from winning Chris Benoit's WWE championship.
** RoaringRampageOfRevenge: He would later return the favor after some encouragement from Regal, chasing off Evolution from helping Triple H in an iron man match and bashing Triple H over the head with a steel chair.
