''Unikitty!'' is a Creator/CartoonNetwork show featuring the eponymous character from ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie''. Originally slated for 2018, a Halloween special preview episode was aired in late October 2017, kicking off the show. A second preview episode aired in the middle of November 2017. The third and final preview episode aired in December 2017, before the show's official launch in January 2018. The show has also seen its own LEGO box set distributed. The show ran for three seasons, with a 2 part series finale in August 2020.

The show takes place in Unikingdom, a bright and cheery land ruled with an iron marshmallow by Princess Unikitty. As Unikingdom's reigning monarch, it is her royal duty to make sure every single day is the happiest and most creative and fun day ever, a duty she takes very seriously. Helping her in her never-ending quest are her four faithful friends: Puppycorn, her little brother; Dr. Fox, the kingdom scientist; Hawkodile, her royal bodyguard; and Richard, her trusted advisor and castle caretaker. Together, they share Unikitty's mission to keep the people of Unikingdom smiling, and have fun and learn life lessons while doing so.

But not everyone in Unikingdom is a fan of Unikitty, surprisingly enough. In neighbouring Frowntown lives the bullying villain Master Frown, who has his own agenda: Ruin Unikitty's day, by any means necessary.

Instead of Creator/AlisonBrie [[RoleReprise reprising her role]], Creator/TaraStrong [[TheOtherDarrin voices Unikitty here]]. Joining her are Creator/GreyDeLisle as Puppycorn, Creator/KateMicucci as Dr. Fox, Creator/RogerCraigSmith as [[ActingForTwo both Hawkodile and Richard, and the Score Keeper]] and Creator/EricBauza as Master Frown. The theme song is performed by Music/BabyMetal. The show's animation is provided by Creator/SnippleAnimation, known for their work on ''WesternAnimation/BeCoolScoobyDoo'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Bunnicula}}'', and by Creator/RenegadeAnimation, known for ''WesternAnimation/TheTomAndJerryShow'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheMrMenShow''.

!!Oooooohhhhhh, what beautiful tro-ohh-opes! They're full of sunshine!

* ActorAllusion:
** This isn't [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the first time]] both Creator/TaraStrong (English) and Creator/CarlaCastaneda (Latin American Spanish) voices a unicorn princess (although, Unikitty's voice and personality are quite different than that of Twilight Sparkle's).
** And with the episode "Stuck Together", we'll have [[VideoGame/LollipopChainsaw the second instance]] of Tara Strong dealing with [[spoiler: a talking decapitated head attached to them.]]
** This isn't [[WesternAnimation/BeCoolScoobyDoo the first time]] Creator/KateMicucci voices an intelligent, glasses-wearing character with a orange color scheme.
*** In the same case, [[WesternAnimation/TheLegoBatmanMovie she's been on another LEGO project not that long ago.]]
** This isn't [[WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse the first time]] Creator/GreyDeLisle voices a character who likes garbage.
** "P.L.O.T. Device" features a scene of Unikitty dressing up like a Ghostbuster. It's another thing Tara Strong has [[WesternAnimation/ExtremeGhostbusters experience with]].
* AdvertisingByAssociation: It's being advertised as from the creators of ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheLegoMovie''. However, of the TTG creators, only Aaron Horvath is present as a staff member.
* AerithAndBob: The names of our main five are Unikitty, Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, Hawkodile... and ''Richard''.
* AIIsACrapshoot:
** [[spoiler: Or rather, [[{{Pun}} Crabshoot]]. "Beach Daze" has Dr. Fox's robot creation Crabatar turn against her own master by imprisoning her in a pinching dungeon Why? Because crabs cannot be trusted]].
** This trope is claimed to have happened but it never really did in "Kaiju Kitty", where the main cast blame the Shining [=MechaKitty=] Turbo 5 for the destruction it caused when clearly they were the ones controlling the robot.
** In "Film Fest", Richard plays the role of a computer AI that becomes self-aware and declares his intention to destroy the spaceship crew before Dr. Fox simply ejects the entire computer [[ThrownOutTheAirlock out into space]].
** There's also Groove-tron in "Dancer Danger" who's a total {{Jerkass}} and [[WouldHitAGirl beats up Unikitty very brutally, literally breaking her down to pieces]], just to prove he's a better dancer. Dr. Fox is proud of him for becoming self-aware rather than horrified that he's yet another malicious robot.
** "Space Mission: Danger", which is a spoof on ''Film/TwoThousandOneASpaceOdyssey'', has Dave, another AI program invented by Dr. Fox, who locks her out of the escape pod to get back home when she and her friends are lost in space, having fallen in love with Fox but then gets angry and jealous mistakenly assuming she has 3 other boyfriends: Hawkodile, Richard and Puppycorn.
* AllLovingHeroine: In "Bugging Out", Unikitty spares a spider [[AndCallHimGeorge and names it Abigail]], believing that everyone deserves love. Near the end, when the spider has her friends wrapped up in web cocoons, even after an intense battle, she still decides to spare Abigail's life. The spiders later [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever grow to massive sizes]].
* AnimalsFearNeutering: The prospect of being "chipped, clipped, and snipped" understandably makes Unikitty (disguised as a pet at the time) utterly horrified, and it's what causes her to finally drop the disguise.
* AesopAmnesia: Unikitty spent the bulk of the movie suppressing her rage before finally admitting there was a time for it at the end. She still struggles with this in "Action Forest" and "Fire and Nice". Then again, it's most likely a ''complete'' AlternateContinuity.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Master Frown and Brock give off strong shades of being in a fluffy relationship. Several episodes show that they share a single bed together and some even show that they don't mind exchanging kisses. It's more of a case of AmbiguouslyBi for Master Frown, however, since he and Unikitty have some ShipTease here and there.
* AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle: Parodied in the [[BrickJoke ending of "Kaiju Kitty"]] when Dr. Fox, who is aware that she's not a medical doctor, tells the viewers to see a real doctor if you have appendix trouble.
* AndShowItToYou: In "The Very Best Candy", when Dr. Fox uses her Battle Blaster to bring two cash registers to life, one of them "kills" the other by ripping a throbbing wad of money out of it, then begins eating said wad.
* AngerIsHealthyAesop: The episode "Fire & Nice" has Unikitty, upset that an angry outburst (thanks to Master Frown causing issues) during her annual "Problem Fixy Day" causes a large amount of destruction, has Dr. Fox sever her angry side from her body. Unfortunately, her angry side is still somewhat connected to her, combined with a variety of requests from the citizens spurned worse by Master Frown, and her angry side turns into a hulking monster that attacks the citizens thanks to her pent-up stress. Unikitty's only able to quell her angry side by accepting that each side needs each other. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, Dr. Fox has no ability to actually ''bring'' the two back together, though it seems to be [[StatusQuoIsGod resolved by the next episode]].]]
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: When Puppycorn and Unikitty head to Frowntown to get Puppycorn's birthday wish back:
-->'''Puppycorn''': This place is the worst!\
'''Unikitty''': Yeah everyone's eating alone... and stuck in traffic... and going to the movies by themselves!
* ArtShift:
** From 3D animated in the movie to 2D animated in the series. The opening even has a scene with Lego people animated in the style of the movie (with several variants, such as two astronauts watching the show on a space station, or a brawl breaking out in a wild west saloon).
** In the series specific, the episode "The Zone" turns Puppycorn, Hawkodile, and Richard into 16-bit designs.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Befitting his name, Master Plague has large pupils that take up most of his eyes and a long beak, causing his face to resemble a plague doctor's mask.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: In "Growing Pains", Dr. Fox gives Puppycorn an experimental growth taffy that he keeps taking until he grows to giant size. Unikitty takes the taffy herself, and the two of them soon grow beyond Unikingdom.
* BalloonBelly: This happens to Puppycorn a few times.
** In "No Sleep Sleepover", Puppycorn eats a ton of pizzas Unikitty ordered for everyone.
** In the first part of "Unfairgrounds", Puppycorn overeats at a fried food stand.
** Hawkodile forced the gang to eat a bunch of items and they end up with bowling ball-shaped bellies.
---> '''Puppycorn''': This is what nightmares taste like! (rolls off) Augh!!!
** In "Cheerleading", Puppycorn eats two whole pizzas in his role call, resulting in him quickly growing one of these
* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace:
** {{Averted|Trope}} in "Wishing Well"; when the rogue wish coins strap Dr. Fox to a rocket and prepare to launch her into space, she declares that she can't breathe there. When she rides a rocket into space in "Brain Trust", she also briefly begins suffocating before she activates her helmet.
** Played straight in Dr. Fox's movie in "Film Fest" when she jettisons Unikitty, Puppycorn, and Hawkodile [[ThrownOutTheAirlock out into space]] following them being mutated from alien exposure, though that might have had the justification of being part of a movie.
** Also played straight in "Growing Pains" when Unikitty and Puppycorn grow too large for Unikingdom. When they're stuck floating in space after returning to normal size, Puppycorn questions how they're breathing.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: The premise of "Wishing Well" when the wish coins retaliate against the citizens and try to [[DeathByIrony kill the citizens in the most ironic ways possible]] by granting their wishes with a lethal twist. The coins gave Unikitty a purposely fragile, unusable scooter hoping she would die from an accident while riding it.
* BigBad:
** Master Frown is the major one in the series, he is against the happiness of others. However, some episodes have solo major threats.
** The Score Creeper, in the "Spoooooky Game" Halloween early sneak preview debut episode.
* BiggerOnTheInside: When Dr. Fox tries to clean out the fridge, she finds that there's an entire ecosystem of mutated leftovers inside.
* BigFancyCastle: Unikitty's castle is a large one that looks her, with two giant windows for eyes, a spire for a horn, and a fountain that constantly flows into the moat inside of its mouth.
* BirthdayEpisode: "Birthday Blowout" is about Puppycorn's birthday party, which Master Frown makes a mess of when Unikitty invites him and then steals Puppycorn's candle in an attempt to deny him his birthday wish.
* BittersweetEnding: This is an ongoing tradition of the show. Usually our heroes finally accomplish getting out of a problem they were stuck with for most of the episode, but at the end they're either in another bad situation, still didn't resolve all their problems yet, or only a fraction of the main cast get a good ending (often times Richard gets a sad ending, everyone else gets a good one). Some examples include:
** Unikitty and her friends being stranded in the ocean.
** Unikitty and her friends being sucked into a black hole.
** Unikitty and Puppycorn being stranded in space.
** Unikitty and her friends get broken into pieces.
** Unikitty shuts her friends into a glass cage forever for losing the prank war.
** Ted Butter gets elected as the new princess and turns the kingdom into a dystopia.
** A volcano erupts (Unikitty and Feebee right on the rim) and coats the castle in lava.
** Unikitty and her friends all lose a race and get turned into rotten eggs.
** Unikitty and her friends get stuck in a storybook with a giant rocket-breathing dragon with no way out.
* BlackBeadEyes: A good chunk of the background citizens have simple dots for eyes. However, there is variation between the designs, such as size, highlight amounts, and eyelash amounts.
* BlackComedyBurst: A surprising amount of them pop up, mostly related to [[MadDoctor Dr. Fox]]. Her casual reaction to BodyHorror (such as waking up without legs and replacing them with spider legs) and apparently horrific Mengele-like offscreen experiments suggest that she's the [[CreepyGood creepiest]] of the protagonists.
* BodyHorror:
** The ending of Dr. Fox's story in "Scary Tales" has her candy monster eating her and the two fusing together. [[ITasteDelicious She then eats her own arm]].
** In "The Unikingdom Awards", another screw up by Dr. Fox causes everything but her skeleton to become invisible.
* BookEnds: The series ends with the first couch gag from the series premiere.
* {{Bowdlerise}}: The version that airs on Cartoon Network UK censors scenes of Unikitty's rage that were deemed too intense for younger viewers. In the instance of the episode "Sparkle Matter Matters", a scene was cut because Puppycorn (accidentally) stabbed Unikitty in the eye to make her mad, an action of which is considered "imitable behavior". This has the unfortunate drawback of creating a huge plot hole, as it causes her sadness to create anger-based sparkle matter out of nowhere, which drives the rest of the plot. In the original cut of the episode, she gets angry ''because'' of her eye being stabbed, which causes her sad sparkle matter to switch into the angry type. An edit of the same scene for the Australian broadcast still cuts out Unikitty's eye being stabbed, but keeps in Puppycorn coming up to her and tripping before cutting to Dr. Fox, so at least what made her angry is still ''implied'' there.
* PottyDance: Hawkodile sings about dancing to hold it when preparing the gang to find bathrooms in foreign lands.
* PottyEmergency: Hawkodile intentionally sends, Unikitty, Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, and Richard in "The Big Trip" to the find the bathrooms in foreign lands.
* BrickJoke:
** In "Kaiju Kitty", Craig (the moose farmer) falls into the docking bay of the robot because it was made on top of her farm she was working in, and is seen clinging onto dear life as the robot rises up with her on the head of the robot. [[spoiler:Near the end of the episode, it is revealed she's been on top of the robot for months and has seen the entire chaotic mess that the robot has caused the town.]]
** In "Little Prince Puppycorn", when Unikitty, Dr. Fox and Hawkodile tell Puppycorn that as Unikitty's brother, he is prince, Puppycorn mentions that he thought he came from space and was left there by alien parents; [[spoiler:the episode closes with green aliens that look like Puppycorn, mentioning that their prince will return to them... someday.]]
* BrokenRecord: In "Kitchen Chaos", Richard's record of "The History of the Paperclip" gets hit by a piece of rubble, causing it to repeat the lines "farther and farther" ad nauseum. This would later corrupt to only [[ToiletHumor "fart"]] over and over when he tries to fix it with another piece of rubble.
* BuiltWithLEGO: Like the movie it was based on, the characters are built with LEGO bricks. However, in a variation, the show is designed in 2D, yet still has the blocky LEGO design, to the point that Richard is simply a 1x3 LEGO brick.
* BullyingADragon: Master Frown often does this to Unikitty. Even if Unikitty can pose a formidable threat to him, Frown still claims it's worth it.
** Happens in the show's opening sequence when Master Frown sticks his tongue out at Unikitty.
** This also serves as the premise of "Fire and Nice".
* CannotSpitItOut: In "Crushing Defeat", Hawkodile has a lot of trouble dealing with his feelings for Doctor Fox, let alone admitting them.
* CanonForeigner: Everyone except Unikitty herself was created for the show.
* TheCaper: In "Tasty Heist", Unikitty plans a heist of the ice cream sandwiches that Richard has locked away for after dinner.
* CaptainErsatz: The Score Creeper (voiced by Creator/RogerCraigSmith) of the "Spoooooky Game" episode sounds remarkably similar to [[Characters/MastersOfTheUniverseEvilWarriors Skeletor, He-man's arch-nemesis]].
* CardCarryingVillain: The Doom Lords, whose goal is to spread suffering any way they can.
* CarnivoreConfusion: In "Fire and Nice", a citizen claims she had a dog as a pet. But on the other hand Puppycorn is royalty?
* CatsAreMean: Inverted, Unikitty is overly lenient and a pushover to everybody. But when you make her angry, she'll act up like a dragon.
* CharlieAndTheChocolateParody: “Unikitty and the Ice Pop Factory”, although it all turns out to be a bust at the end with Unikitty and her friends being arrested, leaving Richard the only one able to visit the factory. And the factory itself? It’s an ordinary, boring factory, although Richard doesn’t seem to mind it one bit.
* TheChewToy: Master Frown who acts like a total jerk and often gets into trouble. It's no mistake that we're meant to laugh at his pain.
** In Election Day, Unikitty becomes this when everyone in the kingdom begins siding with Frown. Even Puppycorn begins covering himself with his merch.
* ChronicPetKiller: The group seems to be one of these due to the fact they have a Hall of Lost Pets. Heck, they're also Chronic Furniture Destroyers as revealed by the furniture graveyard at the end of the episode "Chair".
* ClipShow: "Memory Amok", where Puppycorn sees Unikitty dancing with a mannequin that has a watermelon for a head, and she falls into the garbage and her tail falls off, which prompts her to take Puppycorn down to Dr. Fox's lab so they can sort through his memories with Dr. Fox, Hawkodile, Richard and Unikitty reminiscing, and Unikitty plans to remove the embarrassing and unpleasant ones, only to realize Puppycorn's brain needs good and bad memories to fully function.
* {{Cloudcuckooland}}: Just like Cloud Cuckoo Land in the movie, Unikingdom is overly bright and colorful, with a variety of wacky inhabitants.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: All of the main cast save for [[OnlySaneMan Richard]], particularly Puppycorn.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Dr. Fox, Hawkodile, and Richard all have shades of this, considering how their princess and prince are a pair of hyperactive, over-reactive, easily distracted unicorn-pets.
* {{Cute Little Fang|s}}: Unikitty and Puppycorn both have these.
* ColorFailure: Unikitty goes white with fear in "Sparkle Matter Matters" when a giant star of the titular sparkle matter from Richard comes crashing down on her and the others.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Unikitty and Puppycorn often do this. One example was when she and Hawkodile got stranded on a raft at sea and getting hungry, Hawkodile suggests they catch fish. She invites the fish up to the raft and has a dance party with them. In "Little Prince Puppycorn", when the main cast try to inform Puppycorn he is royalty because his sister is princess and that makes him what? Puppycorn responds "A dog!"
* CompanionCube: In "Rock Friend", it's revealed that Puppycorn's only friend is "Rock Guy", a regular, undecorated rock.
* CompetitionFreak: Unikitty is shown to be this in both "Spoooooky Game" and "Hide 'N' Seek", being determined to win no matter what.
* CouchGag: Every few episodes the part of the intro that involves LEGO figurines gets changed out. So far this has included:
** Two female astronauts in their space station watching the satellite playing the show going by as one exclaims "Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?".
** Two male astronauts fixing up the satellite in order to get the signal. This one has actually had two variants, one where there is a sting of music playing during the talking, and one without.
** A cop chasing down a robber, but the two stop in front of the TV store as their favorite show is coming on, with the robber doubling back to join them.
** [[CrazyCatLady Mrs. Scratchen-Post gathering her cats]] so they can all watch the show together.
** A saloon scene also has two different variants. One focuses on the pianist who is playing terribly resulting in boos and tomatoes thrown at him until a TV pops out of the piano to start the episode. The other starts with a focus on the pianist once again, but then shifts to an outlaw who walks in saying to stop playing the music... Because his favorite show is on.
** A man is outside the store with the TV about to watch the show when the satellite falls from the sky still airing the cartoon on its screen.
** A woman walking by the TV shop on her way to work but then taking out her cell phone to say she quits due to the show starting.
* CourtroomEpisode: Parodied in the episode "Kitty Court", featuring Master Frown up against the Unikingdom's brand of justice after an auto accident.
** Quite a number of CourtroomAntics occur, with Unikitty's entrance consisting of dance party music with bright colored strobe lights, a disco ball and confetti to get the crowd hyped up; spinning the Judge Wheel to determine who presides over the trial [[spoiler: (it turns out to be Puppycorn)]], the court taking a brief recess (at the playground), Unikitty "serving justice (juice smoothies)" to the courtroom, and Unikitty acting as Frown's lawyer and defendant who cross-examines herself on the witness stand when Brock walks out on him. In the end, Master Frown rewinds the evidence DVD a bit too far, and the footage shows that Frown had deliberately put himself right behind Unikitty's car to make it look like an accident, with Frown going to the Unikingdom jail, and Unikitty's friends joining him because they were guilty of being his friend.
* CrossPoppingVeins: The y-shaped variant is sometimes used as a component for anger-based sparkle matter.
* {{Crossover}}: In "Batkitty", Unikitty finds Batman's batsuit in her laundry, and she believes that she's [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries Batman]], so she goes to Frowntown and enters Master Frown's lair to stop him from pelting Frowntown with rotten eggs, which prompts Frown and Brock to start respectively cosplaying as the Joker and Harley Quinn. Later, Unikitty is joined by Puppycorn, Dr. Fox and Hawkodile as Robin, Lady Robin[[labelnote:note]]Carrie Kelley from ComicBook/TheDarkKnightReturns[[/labelnote]], and Nightwing, with Richard acting as Alfred. After foiling Frown's plot to release a giant rotten egg by hatching it into a bird, Batman commends Unikitty's efforts and asks that she returns his batsuit, which she does.
* CrushBlush: Hawkodile has one around Dr. Fox in "Crushing Defeat", along with hearts popping up around him, which he attempts to beat into submission in embarrassment after she leaves.
* CunningLikeAFox: Dr. Fox is a smart scientist.
* {{Cyborg}}: Dr. Fox becomes one in "Kaiju Kitty" to link herself to Shining Mecha Kitty Turbo V's systems, now having [[VideoGame/CrashBandicoot N. Gin-esque]] plating on the right side of her head with an optic lens that shifts from green to red; four wire ports on the sides of her head with two ports connected to the mech and the other two connected to each other, providing an unknown purpose; a robotic right arm; and having moments of speaking in MachineMonotone. She's back to normal during TheStinger.
-->'''Dr. Fox''': I don't even know where the robot ends, '''AND I BEGIN'''.
* DayHurtsDarkAdjustedEyes: In the episode "Action Forest", thanks to Eagleator stealing Hawkodile's shades, which he's been wearing since he received them, Hawkodile is useless to fight him, thanks to being entirely blinded by the sunlight. Not that his temporary solution helps him any better: putting a bandanna over his eyes.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: In "Action Forest", Eagleator [[spoiler:subverts this. He ''pretends'' to accept Hawkodile's apology after the battle, joining him in a hug, but in reality, [[IgnoredEpiphany he's just using the closeness to pull in another attack]]. Even when dangling off a cliff, Hawkodile attempts another offer, but Eagleator flies off, still vowing revenge.]]
* DemBones: At the end of "Time Capsule", [[spoiler:the gang finally get out of the time capsule 100 years in the future and are now skeletons.]]
* DescriptionCut: In "Too Many Unikitties", Unikitty, realizing everyone else is stressed out, decides to see Dr. Fox because she's always so cool/calm under pressure. Cut to Dr. Fox running around in a panic because of a reactor leak in her lab.
* DidYouGetANewHaircut: In "Crushing Defeat", Unikitty notices something different about Hawkodile, who is shrinking due to the weight of having a crush literally crushing his body down. She automatically thinks it's a haircut, but Dr. Fox is quick to notice the direness of the situation.
* TheDissenterIsAlwaysRight: Unikitty and the others have a tendency to brush off Richard's complaints of various situations, purely because they think his ideas are "boring". In the end, being the eldest, the wisest, and the most serious, Richard is the one in the right, forcing the others to relent with much hesitation and agree with him.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: The main cast, especially Unikitty, dislikes cauliflower.
* DogsAreDumb: Puppycorn is a good example, especially in his own limelight episode "Little Prince Puppycorn" when he was granted leadership of the kingdom but he had some very bad ideas in mind such as abolishing money in favor of hi-fives and feeding everyone pizzas for every meal leaving the citizens broke and obese.
* TheDogBitesBack: The bird Master Frown threw a water balloon at in "Stuck Together". After Master Frown's head is separated from his body, the bird proceeds to swallow his body and fly away with it.
* ADogNamedDog: This applies to all 5 main characters. Unikitty, Puppycorn, Hawkodile, and Dr. Fox's names all describe what kind of animal or animal-hybrid they are. Richard is the full name of "Rick", which rhymes with brick.
* DownerEnding: Parodied in "Chair", where Unikitty finds an old, beat-up recliner chair and brings it into the castle against Richard's objections, with Dr. Fox attempting to crush it using an artificial butt robot, Hawkodile learning the backflip, and Puppycorn doing a number of extreme stunts and sports with the chair, with each of them being impressed by the chair's apparent resiliency and awesomeness...until Richard comes in and sits down on the chair [[spoiler: which breaks into pieces and the episode ends with them holding a funeral for the broken chair]].
** Also in "Beach Daze" doubling as [[spoiler: TheBadGuyWins when Crabatar imprisons Unikitty and her friends in the pinching dungeon and seizes the Perfect Spot for herself]].
* TheDragon: Brock.... sort of.
* DumbMuscle: Hawkodile is a subversion. While no means a genius, he's surprisingly cunning and deductive, paired with his strength.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Unikitty and Puppycorn didn't get along very well as brother and sister in the pilot episode, but [[spoiler: because they agreed at the end to stop fighting so much, it's likely that the pilot episode's events is what made the two get along so well afterwards]].
** Unikitty seemed a lot more selfish and competitive in the pilot episode, when later episodes show her as compassionate and caring towards everyone.
* EasyEvangelism: All it takes is free stuff to get almost everyone in the Unikingdom falling for Master Frown in “Election Day.”
* EndOfEpisodeSilliness: More often than not, episodes of the show end with the main problem averted, but an even bigger problem rising, sometimes even ending with the implied death of a few characters (e.g. Lab Cat).
* EpicFail: The montage of Puppycorn trying to make friends in "Rock Friend".
* EverybodyCries: In the episode "Hide n' Seek", Richard seemingly falls off a cliff, causing a tearful Unikitty, Dr. Fox, Puppycorn, and Hawkodile to throw a funeral in his honor. The latter three are so overwhelmed with grief that they end up blowing their noses on the same handkerchief.
* EvilCounterpart: Brock to Richard, and Eagleator to Hawkodile.
** Despite being Master Frown's sidekick, Brock is actually quite friendly to Unikitty and her friends.
* ExactWords: In "Rock Friend", Puppycorn takes Unikitty's suggestion to "make a friend" literally, as he steals body parts from all of his friends to cobble together Friend Guy.
* ExpressiveAccessory: Unikitty's blush marks on her cheeks turn into various shapes when she has emotions fit for them.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Puppycorn has a tendency to eat inedible things, like garbage, dirt, and toys, as he is a dog.
* EyeScream:
** In "Sparkle Matter Matters", Puppycorn trips and gets his horn in Unikitty's eye, which causes her to go "angry kitty" and start producing angry sparkle matter instead of sad sparkle matter. This scene is censored in the UK release of the episode.
** Master Frown, while stuck inside a snowman, gets a carrot lodged into his eye in "No Day Like Snow Day".
** Dr. Fox making an eyelash wish in "Wishing Well".
** In "Kitty Court", Unikitty calls her cloud car as a witness to the trial. It breaks through the wall of the courthouse and blinds Master Frown with its high beam.
*** Soon after, she calls ''the Sun'' [[ItMakesSenseInContext as a witness]], inflicting similar (and much more intense) pain on ''everyone present!''
** In "Tooth Trouble", when the Tooth Fairy unleashes an army of sentient teeth on the gang, she reunites Puppycorn with the baby tooth he lost earlier. He reminds it of all the things they ate together, only for it to lodge itself in his eye.
** In "Cheerleading", when Master Frown tries to lift Brock during cheerleading practice, his eye bulges out, followed by his head popping off.
** A twofer in Master Frown's backstory in "Trapped in the Tower": after dropping his lollipop on a power strip, it activated a spotlight that blinded a hang glider pilot, who then crashed into his birthday cake, splattering it into the eyes of the partygoers.
* FadingAway: In "P.L.O.T. Device 2: Beyond the Bored Dome", Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, Hawkodile, and even Unikitty herself all fade away body-part-by-body-part after Richard sets the new P.L.O.T. Device to its Overdrive setting.
* FallingInLoveMontage: Unikitty and the arm chair have one in the episode "Chair".
* FantasticVoyagePlot: Attempted in "Big Pup, Little Problems", when Dr. Fox shrinks the gang to cure Dinosaur Guy of his stomach ache. Unfortunately, they end up too far away, and are waylaid when Puppycorn mistakes them for toys.
* FemaleFelineMaleMutt: Unikitty and Puppycorn, respectively.
* FlatWorld: Unikingdom and Frowntown are depicted as being the top and bottom sides of this.
* FormerlyFat: In "Wishing Well", a flashback to Dr. Fox's childhood reveals she was very chubby as a little girl, with a double chin as well.
* FrankensteinsMonster: In "Rock Friend", Puppycorn takes Unikitty's suggestion to "make" a friend literally and uses her tail, Hawkodile's arms, Dr. Fox's legs, and half of Richard to build Friend Guy. Later, Puppycorn makes Friend Guy grow huge by piling civilians and parts of Unikingdom on him.
* TheFreakshow: In "Spoooooky Game", one of the challenges in the board game is a midway arcade. Hawkodile ignores this to figure out what's going on with the game in itself, and finds a freakshow, filled with mutated players that had lost the game. [[spoiler:Thanks to doing this snooping, Hawkodile loses the game, and is mutated into a freak himself.]]
* FriendlyEnemy: Brock, even as Master Frown's assistant and roommate, holds no ill will to Unikitty, and acts chill and friendly with her, much to the annoyance of Master Frown.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: In "Too Many Unikitties", Dr. Fox brings up a virtual incarnation of herself on her computer screen. When Unikitty starts moving about, the virtual Dr. Fox actually follows her movements and reacts to what she does, including making an OhCrap face when Unikitty puts the Happy Horn on the real Dr. Fox.
* FusionDance: Done between Unikitty and Hawkodile in the "Super Love" music video to fight a particularly huge demon.
* GamesOfTheElderly: In the episode "Old Lady Bodyguard", one of the things that Really Old Edith wants to do with Hawkodile after bidding for his services is showing him off to the other old ladies at the bingo parlor. However when they finally get to the bingo parlor, [[spoiler: they are immediately confronted by a trio of old ladies who take bingo as SeriousBusiness as they accuse Edith of being the "Biggest Bingo Cheater of All Time", something they prove by revealing that Edith stashes extra bingo cards in her purse. A fight then ensues with Hawkodile being beat up while protecting Edith from the old ladies.]]
* TheGamePlaysYou: The episode "Spoooooky Game" features the titular board game. A cursed game given by the elusive Score Creeper, it sucks players into the game, with the demand of winning. Those that don't win a challenge are cursed, transforming into something related to which section they lost in.
* GettingSmiliesPaintedOnYourSoul:
** The episode "Sparkle Matter Matters" has Richard being subjected to a serum that forces him to be overly happy. It wrecks his body and causes damage to his surroundings, thanks to bad materials in the serum causing his sparkle matter to come out in gigantic chunks of increasing size.
** "Too Many Unikitties" has Dr. Fox inventing the Happy Horn, which makes one as happy as Unikitty. Unikitty puts it on all her friends, but soon finds out that everyone acting like her leads to a lot of problems, like Hawkodile not keeping away intruders, or Fox not being able to stop a reactor meltdown.
* GoneHorriblyRight: In "Sparkle Matter Matters", the serum [[GettingSmiliesPaintedOnYourSoul that induces Richard to be happy]] does it to such an extreme that the sparkle matter he produces is giant and sticky. Later, when using a second serum to try and get him back to normal, it ends up going too far and causing giant scorpion sparkle matter and such to manifest.
* GRatedDrug:
** In "Sparkle Matter Matters", Unikitty and Dr. Fox collect sparkle matter from [=FeeBee=] by giving her flowers to rub in her face. She's later seen looking like a drug addict, wide-eyed with pollen on her face and eagerly wanting more flowers. Unikitty and Dr. Fox hesitate but give [=FeeBee=] more flowers anyway.
** In "Kitty Court", Unikitty snorts a briefcase full of scented stickers that stick to her face. [[ItMakesSenseInContext A briefcase she gives herself in order to bribe herself.]]
** In "Too Many Unikitties", the rest of the main cast get Happy Horns that make them all think and act just like Unikitty to the point that it's clearly visible the Happy Horns are very much like psychedelic drugs.
** In "Super Amazing Raft Adventure", Unikitty and Hawkodile are starving and after Unikitty throws away all the fish she invited for a dance party on the raft, they eat moldy cheese which has side effects similar to LSD and psychedelic mushrooms.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Master Doom, being [[BigBad Master Frown]]'s boss is this by virtue.
* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: Both Hawkodile and Eagleator, when they were younger and in training, had hair. Hawkodile had long hair with bangs and a headband, while Eagleator had a mullet that covered his head spikes.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: In "Rock Friend", Puppycorn takes one half of Richard to build a new friend. He doesn't seem to notice. Later in "Dunklecorn", Hawkodile accidentally snaps him in half after confusing him for a rock (a RunningGag throughout that episode).
* HeartTrauma: When Hawkodile represses his crush for Dr. Fox in "Crushing Defeat", the pink love hearts keep crushing down on him, and he gets shorter with each passing moment that he tries to hide his feelings.
* HeWasRightThereAllAlong: At the end of "Hide 'N' Seek", [[spoiler:Richard reveals to Unikitty that he was in the castle all along, complete with flashbacks to show him as part of the background]].
* HollywoodHacking: Parodied in "Action Forest"; Dr. Fox's action hero persona is "The Cyber Hacker" and she declares "I'll hack into his defenses!"
* HotDrinkCure: In the episode "Sick Day", Unikitty gives a sick Dr. Fox a cup of tea. Hawkodile also makes several cups to use as ammunition on a mutated Dr. Fox (ItMakesSenseInContext).
* HumanSnowman: This accidentally happens to Master Frown in "No Day Like Snow Day".
* HumiliationConga: One happens to Unikitty in "Pet Pet" during her efforts to disguise herself as the lost pet.
* HumongousMecha: "Kaiju Kitty" features the gang piloting a Anime/{{Voltron}}-style mech. Despite Richard's objection that it should only be used for real emergencies, the rest of the gang think that the mech is so cool that they refuse to leave it and live in it for several months, which takes a toll on them: Hawkodile's arms atrophy from lack of exercise, Dr. Fox becomes [[WetwareCPU cybernetically linked to the mech's systems]], and Puppycorn is delirious from [[SleepDeprivation being awake for 36 days straight]].
* HurricaneOfPuns: Master Frown turns into a PungeonMaster in "Dinner Apart-y" when he gets into a FoodFight with Unikitty and Puppycorn:
-->'''Master Frown''': "Peas" show yourselves out! [''He shoots sliced ham at them''] Sorry, that was a little ''hammy!'' How about you "dill" with it?!\
[''Frown fires a pickle at them'']\
'''Puppycorn''': These puns are really bad!\
'''Frown''': What? My puns are great! "Donut" take me lightly!\
'''Unkitty''' [''gets hit by donuts'']: [[SuckinessIsPainful Puns, they hurt]]!\
'''Frown''' [''hits Puppycorn with tacos'']: "Taco"-bout a weak defense!\
'''Puppycorn''': No more!
* IHaveThisFriend: Hawkodile uses this to express his hidden feelings for Dr. Fox in "Crushing Defeat":
-->'''Dr. Fox''': If you don't tell your crush immediately, you could crush away into absolutely nothing!\
'''Hawkodile''': What if I can't? What if she doesn't want to listen?\
'''Dr. Fox''': Hmm... Oh, I know! How about you practice on me?\
'''Hawkodile''': What?\
'''Dr. Fox''': Come on, Hawkodile, just pretend I'm your crush and tell me how you feel.\
'''Hawkodile''' [''stammering'']: Uh, I don't know... how? How do I begin to tell you that beneath my massive chest, there's a raging battle of emotion? You take my breath away like a flying bicycle kick to the solar plexus. My deadly little mushroom cloud, you've exploded my heart and rebuilt me into something new. You and me, together, we make a great team.
* IllnessBlanket: In the episode "Sick Day", Puppycorn wraps a blanket around a sick Dr. Fox.
* ImMelting: This happens to Dr. Fox's clones in "Perfect Moment."
* InnocentlyInsensitive: In "Film Festival", when Richard tries exposing the corruption behind Unikitty and her friends for always taking advantage of him as a servant, everybody (including Unikitty and the main cast) mistake his movie to be a comedy and laugh at him.
* InsaneTrollLogic: In "Election Day", when Unikitty and Master Frown's votes tie up, Richard states that the rules say whoever voted first gets to be princess. This turns out to be Ted Butter, who begins ruling the kingdom with an iron wing.
* InSeriesNickname: Richard is often called simply "Rick" or "Rich".
* IronicEcho: In episode 14, Unikitty cries over the mere thought of getting chipped, clipped and snipped and that she doesn't want to be a pet. But she's a cat!
* ItCameFromTheFridge: In "Kitchen Chaos", Dr. Fox's attempts at a "leftover preservation" test with a laser beam ends up starting up the food growth cells, turning the food into tentacled piles of mold. Thanks to shoving them back into the fridge, the mold creatures mutate into their own habitat in the fridge, attacking Dr. Fox when she heads into it to clean it. Dr. Fox's effort to kill the living green mold becomes a throwback to the classic ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' movies.
* {{Jerkass}}: There's a few:
** Master Frown whose purpose in life is to cause misery and make people frown by acting like a petty jerk. He's apparently very poor at his job, even more than Master Papercuts, and possibly makes him more of a jerk to prove himself.
** Eagleator was this once his true colors shown. He felt that he deserved his sensei's sunglasses and beat up everyone in the dojo to prove it. Hawkodile was forced to beat his best friend and Eagleator has held this grudge ever since.
* JekyllAndHyde: Featured in "Too Many Unikittys", where Unikitty puts her trademark blue horn on her friends so they could be like her all the time.
* {{Kaiju}}: A giant monster features in the episode "Kaiju Kitty".
* KansasCityShuffle: Zigzagged and parodied in "Tasty Heist", where Richard is serving cauliflower stew with rainbow ice cream sandwiches after dinner. Unikitty enlists the help of Dr. Fox, Hawkodile, and Puppycorn to break into the vault to get the ice cream sandwiches, until the end when they find out that they're fakes made of papier-maché, and Richard does a ChairReveal where he anticipated their heist attempt and hired Puppycorn as TheMole for the setup... and then Puppycorn and Unikitty do a couple more chair reveals where [[TheMole Puppycorn informed Richard of their plan]] so he could tunnel into the garage and get what they think are the real treats... only for them to discover that those treats were decoys as well, with Richard anticipating a series of double-crosses, so he took the real ice cream treats and made a getaway in the helicopter... only to discover that the real ice cream sandwiches melted, so he offers to take them out for ice cream.
* KarmicButtMonkey: Master Frown's schemes to make others miserable always blow up in his face and he ends up being the miserable one.
* {{Keet}}: Puppycorn, in similar ways of his sister being a GenkiGirl.
* LabcoatOfScienceAndMedicine: Dr. Fox's outfit.
* LeastRhymableWord: Brought up in "Lazer Tag" when [[RhymesOnADime the Score Creeper]] attempts to rhyme with "orange".
* LiteralGenie: The wish coins, with elements of JackassGenie, since they're being literal on purpose as revenge for being trapped in a well for years. The good wishes the gang make to stop them are also a bit literal.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: In "Fire and Nice", Unikitty separates her Angry Kitty personality from herself. This leaves her to work Problem Fixy Day without anger, but at the same time, without her anger, she isn't able to express when she's uncomfortable with doing something. At the same time, the two of them are not ''entirely'' separated, meaning that all the suppressed anger goes into Angry Kitty, fueling her rage levels.
* LostFoodGrievance: In "Bugging Out", Puppycorn has this reaction to accidentally smashing his stick of butter.
* MadeOfExplodium: In "Action Forest", Hawkodile makes a slice of cake and a cloud explode. Quickly {{subverted|Trope}} when nothing happens when he breaks a twig in half.
* MesACrowd: In "Late Night Talky Time", Dr. Fox makes four clones of herself to form a band. The end of the episode shows her with even more.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Unikitty is a unicorn-and-cat-hybrid, Puppycorn is a unicorn-and-dog-hybrid, Hawkodile is a hawk-and-crocodile-hybrid, and Eagleator is an eagle-and-alligator-hybrid.
** Averted with Dr. Fox, who is a fox with no other animal features.
* MundaneWish: In "Birthday Blowout", Puppycorn's birthday wish is for [[spoiler:a ball with his name on it (albeit misspelled as "Pupycron" with a backwards N).]]
* MushroomSamba: In "Super Amazing Raft Adventure", Unikitty and Hawkodile have this reaction to eating a moldy wedge of cheese.
* NegativeContinuity: Things frequently go unfixed by the end of the episode. {{Parodied|Trope}} at the end of "Rock Friend" when, despite she and her friends missing body parts and the kingdom in total disrepair, Unikitty loudly and insistently proclaims that everything is just fine now.
* NeverGoingBackToPrison: In "Tooth Trouble", when the gang begin their mission to give people money in exchange for their teeth:
-->'''Richard:''' If there's money involved, we're gonna do this by the books. ''I'm not going to jail again.''
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In "No Day Like Snow Day", Master Frown becomes trapped in Puppycorn's snowman, and experiences the joys of a snow day. He enjoys it so much, he starts to [[HeelFaceTurn reconsider his villainous ways]]. Unfortunately, Unikitty and her friends, wanting to spare Puppycorn the pain of watching his snowman friend melt, place him on an ice floe and let him drift out to sea, leaving Master Frown screaming that he will have his revenge.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: In "Unfairgrounds Part 1", Master Frown is able to cut down the line of a theme park ride that Unikitty and her friends are waiting for by scaring away all the patrons in line with mean pranks and gigs cutting the wait time from 6 hours to 5 minutes.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: Unikitty and Puppycorn are respectively a cat and a dog who have unicorn horns, Hawkodile a cross between a hawk and a crocodile, and Eagleator a cross between an eagle and an alligator.
* NominalImportance: Averted, every single character, including the random background characters, have a name.
* NonNudeBathing: According to "Dinner Apart-y", Master Frown wears his robe while he bathes.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Richard is just a floating, talking brick, compared to his friends, consisting of an optimistic unicorn-and-cat hybrid, a dumb unicorn-and-dog-hybrid, a brave hawk-and-crocodile hybrid, and a smart fox scientist.
** Carrying over from ''The LEGO Movie'', Unikitty's body can change dramatically in ways that should not be possible. The same applies to Puppycorn, having a body similar to his sister's.
* NoodleIncident: "Little Prince Puppycorn" begins during the aftermath of one of these, with Unikitty having done something to anger Unikingdom's citizens and causing them to riot.
* NotNowWereTooBusyCryingOverYou: In "Hide 'N' Seek", Unikitty thinks she's accidentally killed Richard and holds a funeral for him with her friends in attendance. [[AttendingYourOwnFuneral Cue Richard himself revealing he's alive]] and the thing Unikitty "killed" was a cinderblock.
* NotThatKindOfDoctor: Doctor Fox occasionally says that she's not a medical doctor.
** {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d and parodied in TheStinger of "Kaiju Kitty":
--->'''Richard''': Oh, hi. You know, we had a lot of fun today, and we also learned a lot about appendixes.\
'''Dr. Fox''': A ruptured appendix is no laughing matter.\
'''Richard''': If you ever feel extreme abdominal pain, you should talk to a doctor immediately.\
'''Dr. Fox''': A doctor like me, who can then refer you to a different, more suitable doctor, as I am not licensed to practice medicine.\
'''Richard''' and '''Dr. Fox''': [[AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle Remember, if your appendix is in trouble, see a doctor on the double.]]
* NoYou: In "Film Fest", after Hawkodile's action film:
-->'''Richard:''' Princess, I think the audience has had enough of these mindless feel-good stories.\
'''Hawkodile:''' ''You're'' a mindless feel-good story! ''(runs off in tears)''
* ObfuscatingStupidity:
** In "No Day Like Snow Day", Hawkodile and Richard knew that [[spoiler:Master Frown was a HumanSnowman the whole time]].
** In "Pet Pet", Richard knew that [[spoiler:Unikitty had lost Pet Pet and was pretending to be him]].
* OcularGushers: Unikitty gets these when she's required to be sad and produce negative sparkle matter in "Sparkle Matter Matters".
** In "Dinner Apart-y", Puppycorn starts bawling and his OcularGushers are directed blasts of water straight out of his eyes at Unikitty. She uses a potted plant to deflect the spray.
* OddNameOut:
** Richard is the only member of the protagonists to not be named after any animal species since he's a Lego-brick like creature; he has a standard, ordinary name.
** The Doom Lords: Doom, Frown, Malice, Hazard, Misery, Fear, Pain, Plague... and Papercuts.
* OhCrap: In "Sparkle Matter Matters", Puppycorn lodges his horn in Unikitty's eye and Unikitty bursts into extensive fury while Puppycorn maintains a shocked expression on his face, giving the show this impression.
* OnceMoreWithClarity: In "Hide N' Seek", when [[spoiler:Richard reveals he was trying to be found, flashbacks to locations that Unikitty passed through that had a shape that resembled Richard now has his face plastered on it, to the point of adding a scene of him ''blatantly entering the room''.]]
* PaperThinDisguise: In "Pet Pet", Unikitty has to disguise as the titular pet (who's maybe a fifth her size) when it goes missing. Her pet disguise consists of a pillowcase with drawn-on eyes (which look considerably different than the actual Pet Pet's eyes) and a cut-out for the mouth.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Pink Unikitty and blue Puppycorn, but this is an interesting variant of the trope since they have almost the exact same personality.
* PokeThePoodle:
** To Master Frown, his idea of "evil" is petty things that would put a damper on Unikitty's day, small things like drinking the rest of someone else's glass of milk or trying to smash Puppycorn's snowman. According to his boss, Master Doom, he's not responsible for anything more and he's at the bottom of the pecking order because of it.
** Master Papercuts, as his name implies, spreads misery by giving people papercuts. Even though he's the butt of jokes for the other Doom Lords, he's still more respected than Master Frown.
* PrincessesRule: Unlike ''The LEGO Movie'' where Unikitty said there are no rules or government, Richard's long to-do list for her here implies there are certain responsibilities she needs to do in order to actually rule Unikingdom. Unikitty herself would prefer to just have fun.
** Unikitty has even been arrested a few times by her own police department, including “Unikitty and the Ice Pop Factory” for stealing ice pops, “Kitty & Hawk” and even throwing herself in prison in “Kitty Court.”
* PubescentBraces: Dr. Fox wore a pair as a young girl, as revealed in a flashback in "Wishing Well". Unikitty is also shown to have had these as a kitten in "Kitty & Hawk".
* RupturedAppendix: In the episode "Kaiju Kitty", Richard's position on the Shining Mecha Kitty Turbo V robot is the appendix, which according to Dr. Fox, "just sits there and occasionally explodes", much to Richard's annoyance. It ends up turning out to be [[spoiler:housing the self destruct mechanism for the mech, saving them during permanent lockdown]].
* SanitySlippage: Unikitty ends up losing it when she can't find Richard in "Hide N' Seek", complete with a conspiracy board, interrogating ''clocks'' of all things, and pulling an ExorcistHead.
* SaveTheVillain: Unikitty frequently finds herself aiding Master Frown in many episodes despite the fact that Frown's always trying to destroy her kingdom and eliminate her. [[UngratefulBastard Frown]] never thanks Unikitty for it, he just exploits her compassion and continues to antagonize her.
* SecretTest: In "License to Punch", Hawkodile has to finish his action license test so he can be an action hero again, or else he'll have his shades taken away. [[spoiler:He fails to do the test and defies the Action Police to take his shades away. After effortlessly beating down his attackers, the Action Police gives him his action license again, since fighting them ''was'' the actual test.]]
* SeenItAll: The reason Richard rarely moves beyond "fine" is that he's been around a while.
* SelfProclaimedLoveInterest: In "Crushing Defeat", Richard mentions he carries a torch for a brick girl (that looks a lot like him, only with eyelashes and hair), who he has never met or talked to, only seen from the window of the castle, but he insists that "their love is real", much to Hawkodile's annoyance, as he had come to Richard for actual relationship advice.
* [[HeWhoFightsMonsters She Who Fights Monsters]]: In "Kaiju Kitty", Unikitty has been having such an awesome time living in the Shining Mecha Kitty Turbo V (and causing destruction to the town in the process) while looking for the monster, it takes a while for her to recognize that the [=SMKT-V=] is what has been causing the damage:
-->'''Unikitty''': I don't get it. The whole town's in a panic, but ''where's the monster''?\
'''Beau''': There. The monster's right there!\
'''Richard''': Don't you see, Princess?\
'''Unikitty''': [[ComicallyMissingThePoint Not now, Richard, we've got to find this monster!]]\
'''Really Old Edith''': I'm so frightened of that big thing in the center of town!\
'''Unikitty''': Wait... but ''we're'' in the center of town!\
'''Richard''': Princess, that's...\
'''Unikitty''': Richard! Please, buddy, I'm trying to piece this together! If we're in the center of town here, and the pandemonium is all around us...\
'''Craig''': It's you, okay? You, you're the monster!
* ShipTease: Hawkodile blushes and emits heart-shaped sparkle matter when Dr. Fox waves at him in "Sparkle Matter Matters". This is addressed in the episode "Crushing Defeat".
** Addressed again in the opening scene to "Dancer Danger", where the two of them are scene dancing together, although neither of them comment on it.
* ShoutOut:
** At the booth that Unikitty gets Spoooooky Game from, one of the other items for sale is [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls Journal 3]].
** Just about everything in "Kaiju Kitty", to the HumongousMecha genre. Their mecha resembles both ''Anime/MazingerZ'' and [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers the Megazord (and is summoned with a flute)]], has the distinctive splitscreen and AvengersAssemble of ''Anime/{{Voltron}}'', and at one point flies directly at a missile in a [[WesternAnimation/TheIronGiant very familiar way]].
*** Puppycorn also notes that the mecha is [[Film/MadMaxFuryRoad "shiny and chrome."]]
** In "Kitchen Chaos", Dr. Fox's expedition into the [[BiggerOnTheInside suddenly roomy fridge]] and battles with the [[ItCameFromTheFridge mold monsters]] within are an extended reference to the ''Film/{{Aliens}}'' franchise, complete with flamethrower, trapped victim, and Dr. Fox yelling, "Get away from me, you ''fish''!" The fridge's environment itself looks like [[Series/StrangerThings The Upside-Down]], complete with mold spores floating in the air.
** Unikitty's hunt for Richard in "Hide 'N' Seek" takes her to "The Farthest Away Place in the World" which resembles Luke Skywalker's island from ''Film/TheForceAwakens'' and ''Film/TheLastJedi''. For bonus points, Unikitty is wearing Rey's cloak (as well as a [[Literature/TheLordOfTheRings Gandalf-style fake beard]] and staff, which she quickly loses).
** In "Hide 'N' Seek", the food stand that Q.T. hides in contains only [[WesternAnimation/AppleAndOnion apples and onions]]. The show would premiere the month after this episode aired.
** In "Film Fest", Unikitty and Puppycorn's film ends with a [[WebAnimation/TeenGirlSquad loose leaf lined paper-drawn image of the words "It's over!".]]
** Also in "Film Fest", Richard named his movie "A Rick in the Wall" - a tribute to Music/PinkFloyd.
** At the end of "Dancer Danger", Richard says "Groovy" much like how Ash says it in Franchise/EvilDead.
** As a Christmas episode, "Top of the Naughty List" becomes a WholePlotReference to ''Film/DieHard''.
** "Batkitty" pays homage to ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie'', with Unikitty as Batman, Frown and Brock respectively cosplaying as the Joker and Harley Quinn. Puppycorn, Dr. Fox and Hawkodile cosplay as Robin, Robin Girl[[labelnote:note]]Carrie Kelley from ComicBook/TheDarkKnightReturns[[/labelnote]] and Nightwing, and Richard decides to be Alfred. Creator/WillArnett even voices Unikitty when she's in Batkitty mode [[spoiler: and reprises his role as Batman from ''The LEGO Movie''.]] Master Frown also throws a giant penny at Unikitty, a reference to the one in the Batcave.
** Occasionally the show features a background music track that sounds like the theme to WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987.
* ShowWithinAShow: ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie''-esque minifigures watching Unikitty on the TV screen in the intro gives the show this impression. One of them even features [[CrazyCatLady Mrs. Scratchen-Post]] from the film.
* {{Slapstick}}: Though Richard is the show's key ButtMonkey, Unikitty and Dr. Fox do get caught in some of the cartoon injuries.
* SmallSecludedWorld: Played with. The world of Unikitty is shown to be incredibly small, with the top half of it literally all being Unikitty's kingdom, while the bottom half of it is Master Frown's kingdom. Although it's played with in the sense that it's been implied that directly below said planet is the world of ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie''.
* SnapBack: Various episodes end with the characters physically changed in various ways, which return to normal with the next episode.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Masters Malice, Fear, and Pain wear spiked collars.
* SpinOff: Of ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie''.
* SpiritualSuccessor: To ''WesternAnimation/{{Mixels}}'', as the second traditionally animated cartoon for Cartoon Network based on a LEGO theme.
* SpotTheImpostor: In "This Spells Trouble", Puppycorn overhears Unikitty, Dr. Fox, Hawkodile and Richard spelling out words to keep a secret from Puppycorn, so he goes to the library and checks out a book of magic spells. After he fails to learn Hawkodile's secret, he uses a spell to disguise himself as Hawkodile, who challenges him to sing a song only the real Hawkodile would know; Puppycorn flubs the lyrics, and runs out of the palace window when he's found out.
* SpringtimeForHitler: In "Float On", Master Frown crashes the Unikingdom's parade with his own float, and starts off as a killjoy jerkass who attempts to ruin Parade Day by spreading misery in the form of a sad-looking puppy that brings tears to the crowd's eyes. Hawkodile, Richard, Dr. Fox and Puppycorn attempt to stop it, but fail. Unikitty takes her parade float up to eleven (11 miles per hour) to pursue Frown, and when she jumps into Frown's parade float, she admires Frown's parade float when he tells her that he put a great amount of effort to express himself on Self-Expression Parade Day. When Frown's float is proclaimed the best of the parade, Frown gets angry because he wanted to ruin everyone's cheerfulness and the crowd is cheering for his float.
* StepfordSmiler: Unikitty turns into one in "Fire and Nice" when she asks Dr. Fox to remove her angry side, enduring such requests (with Master Frown hiding in the crowd and taking them a step further than intended) as planting blue flowers for Feebee, repairing and rebuilding Cookie Guy's gingerbread house, and rebuilding the bridge to Sssnake, Theodore, and Gizmo's town, with Unikitty carrying them across the gap instead.
* SugarBowl: Unikingdom. It's a bright and colorful world ruled by a bright and colorful unicorn cat hybrid.
* SuppressedRage: Unikitty has Dr. Fox remove her angry side because she thinks it's inconsistent with her happy personality, only for her angry side to get meaner with every frustration, until Master Frown takes over the castle, when Unikitty's rage can stand it no longer and unleashes her wrath on the town.
* TakeThat: In "Batkitty", Brock, dressed as Harley Quinn, yells "Unnecessary costume change!", and tears off the classic Harley Quinn costume, changing into the infamous New 52 costume.
* ThereAreNoPolice: Unikitty has Hawkodile to stop Master Frown and rampaging monsters whenever they commit crimes or cause destruction, but she doesn't have any form of riot control ("Little Prince Puppycorn") which forces her to almost always give in to the citizens' ignorant and often selfish demands and her legal system as shown in "Kitty Court" turns out to be an absolute joke.
* TheTapeKnewYouWouldSayThat: The Database of Probable Disasters.
* ThrownOutTheAirlock: In Dr. Fox's movie in "Film Fest", this is her reaction to her crew finding a potentially dangerous alien, then later for [[AIIsACrapshoot the ship's computer (played by Richard) becoming self-aware]] and Unikitty, Puppycorn, and Hawkodile mutating from alien exposure.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Dr. Fox is the brainy tomboy to Unikitty's slightly ditzy girly girl.
* TooDumbToLive: In "Lab Cat", Unikitty and Puppycorn keep insisting on staying with Dr. Fox's painful experiments on them in spite of endangering their health.
