Five years after ''WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones'' ended, a SaturdayMorningCartoon spin-off was created by Creator/HannaBarbera for Creator/{{CBS}} with the two toddlers, Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, as teenagers. Fred and Barney were relegated to supporting roles, as were Wilma and Betty. Many new characters were introduced, most of them teens who served as friends or {{foil}}s to Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm.

The voice cast included Creator/SallyStruthers as Pebbles and Jay North (TV's Series/DennisTheMenace) as Bamm-Bamm.

!!The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Tropes:

* AbhorrentAdmirer: When not insulting the overall group, Bronto hits on Pebbles.
* AllBikersAreHellsAngels: What the Bronto Bunch are trying to be.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Schleprock. His entrance is always greeted with dread, and he's often told to sit away from others. "Schleprock's New Image" in particular highlights this, and Pebbles just feels so bad for him.
* AlphaBitch: Cindy Curbstone.
* BestFriend: Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm are this to each other in addition to being boyfriend-and-girlfriend in this series. Also Penny and Wiggy to each other and to Pebbles.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: Pebbles (red), Penny (brunette) and Wiggy (blonde).
* BoundAndGagged: In "They Went That-A-Way", Pebbles is captured by rustlers, who then gag her and tie her up to a cactus. In the next scene, Pebbles' friends find her [[BringTheAnchorAlong hopping away while still being tied up to the cactus]].
* CatchPhrase:
** "Yabba Dabba Doozie!" (Usually an indication that Pebbles has picked up the IdiotBall again - and often lampshaded by Bamm-Bamm with a HereWeGoAgain.)
** Also, Schleprock's "Wowzie wowzie woo woo!" just before he causes destruction in his wake.
* CoolCar: Bamm-Bamm's station wagon.
* DaddysGirl: Pebbles to Fred, of course. He's noticeably never able to stay angry about her antics like Wilma is.
* DatingServiceDisaster: "The Suitor Computer" from ''The Flintstone Comedy Hour'' in a nutshell. Moonrock has devised a matchmaking computer and Pebbles thinks it would be fun to try at her party, but Cindy secretly sabotages it. While Cindy gets to go out with Bamm-Bamm, Pebbles gets paired with Schleprock, Penny with Bronto, Wiggy with Fabian, and Moonrock with Rockelle. HilarityEnsues during each date.
* DemotedToExtra: Pebbles' and Bamm-Bamm's parents get this in most episodes. However sometimes they are rather driving to the episode's plot. Fred's promotion is what leads to one episode's shenanigans, and two have to deal with the kids trying to fix something they believe happened to Barney.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: One of the crooks in "Mayor May Not" tells Pebbles that he's an unapologetic thief but will always tell the truth.
* ExpositoryThemeTune
* EyeObscuringHat: Schleprock wears one.
* FakeBand: Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm and their friends have one called the Bedrock Rockers in ''The Flintstones Comedy Hour''.
* {{Fanservice}}: Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm both grew up quite nicely. See the beach part of the later opening.
* FatAndSkinny: Penny Pillar and Wiggy Rockstone.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: Bamm-Bamm's SuperStrength is gone without explanation. Though it does reappear just as inexplicably in the late 1990s specials.
** Essentially making it an aversion to PubertySuperpower, as Bamm-Bamm would lose his during it.
* GadgeteerGenius: Moonrock is the group's nerdy tech guy who often makes inventions to help (or at least try to help) with the gang's latest plot.
* GangOfBullies: The Bronto Bunch.
* GenkiGirl: Pebbles is usually bubbly and enthusiastic.
* HereWeGoAgain:
** "Putty in Her Hands": a pair of con artists claim Pebbles won a free sculpture lesson in order to bilk her for more. HilarityEnsues, including Bamm-Bamm being covered in putty so that Pebbles can save face in front of Cindy. At the end of the episode, Pebbles claims she just won a free driving lesson, which prompts Bamm-Bamm and Moonrock to make a run for it and climb the nearest tree to get away. Subverted in that Pebbles insists it was just a joke, but they won't take any chances and refuse to climb down.
** "The Terrible Snorkosaurus": Pebbles talked the group into trying to get such a beast for the local aquarium in exchange for a big payday. After all the effort trying to do so, keeping the folks from finding out about Snorkosaurus, and returning it to its home, Pebbles reads about a zoo offering big bucks for another fabled beast. The rest of the group immediately drives away, leaving a confused Pebbles wondering what's gotten into them.
* HiddenDepths: During the DatingServiceDisaster, Wiggy and Fabian end up having more fun than the other pairs. He turns out to be into astrology, too, so they really hit it off. Their date only goes south because of some sudden slapstick.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: In the episode where Bamm-Bamm has a gorgeous voice, but only when he's singing in the shower. His "bad" voice is a little too exaggerated.
* IdiotBall: Pebbles usually holds it and fumbles things up as the episode goes on.
* {{Jerkass}}: Cindy and her equally snobby boyfriend, Fabian.
* TheJinx: Badluck Schleprock.
* LampshadeHanging: Bamm-Bamm regularly questions how he lets Pebbles talk him into her various schemes. Pebbles admits it's not as easy as he thinks it is.
* LaughTrack: H-B abandoned the standard prime-time laugh track used at the time and created a new laugh track for this series, as well as for companion CBS show ''[[WesternAnimation/TheHairBearBunch Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch!]]''
* LocalHangout: The favorite hangout of Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm and their schoolmates is a [[GreasySpoon diner]] called Brontoburgers.
* MythologyGag: Bamm-Bamm has the same ability to only sing in the shower his father had in an episode of the original series. Note that Bamm-Bamm was adopted, so there's no genetic explanation for this.
* NameAndName: The title is an example of this.
* NerdGlasses: Moonrock wears them.
* NewAgeRetroHippie: The [[WesternZodiac astrology]]-obsessed Wiggy is an early example.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: "Pebbles' Big Boast" has an appearance by [[Music/TheRollingStonesBand Mick Jadestone and the Rolling Boulders]].
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: "Wiggy is the only cave girl in the series to have huge feet, while the others have small ones.
* OnlySaneMan: Bamm-Bamm is usually the one to call out Pebbles on her hare-brained schemes, but ends up going along with them anyway. Just like his father did with her father.
* PetTheDog: Unlike a lot of her other schemes, Pebbles spends an episode trying to shake Schleprock of his bad luck out of pure sympathy.
* RelationshipSabotage: Cindy regularly flirts with Bamm-Bamm. It's unclear how interested she actually is in him (especially since she already has a boyfriend), but she clearly delights at how irritated Pebbles gets by this.
* RelationshipUpgrade: Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm are said to be boyfriend-and-girlfriend in this series.
* TheRival: Cindy to Pebbles.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: The titular pair.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Moonrock often talks this way.
* SingingInTheShower: One episode had Bam-Bam discover that, much like his father, he could sing well but only while showering.
* SpinOffspring: This show is a Spin-off to the original ''Flintstones'' series now focusing on the offspring characters as teenagers.
* StatingTheSimpleSolution: Like his father before him, Bamm-Bamm frequently points out the best way out of a ZanyScheme in the process of going sideways: simply give up to avoid any further frustration and be honest with others. And like her father before her, Pebbles rarely heeds this advice.
* SyndicationTitle: ''The Flintstones Comedy Hour'' was renamed ''The Flintstones Comedy Show''[[note]]Not to be confused with the later "Flintstone" (note the lack of an "s") Comedy Show that was made from 1980-1982.[[/note]] for the half-hour syndicated version.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck:
** Bamm-Bamm has this reaction every time Pebbles gets an idea for a ZanyScheme. He knows that look in her eyes, and he doesn't like it.
** Schleprock prompts this reaction every time he walks into frame. Unfortunately for him, it almost always ends up being justified, due to the assorted bad luck that results.
* TimeSkip: One occurs as when last seen on screen Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were only still babies, while at the start of this show, they are in high school.
* TwoShorts: The original series was one segment for the full half hour. The following season a new show took its place but was extended an hour, ''The Flintstone Comedy Hour''. The first half hour featuring new segments featuring Fred and Barney as well as the teens combined with musical segments of the teens as the Bedrock Rockers. The latter half was for reruns of this show. But this show only had 16 episodes while this new series needed 18. So four additional segments were made to fill the last two episodes, both of which aired as Two Shorts to a half hour.
** Nowadays those four new segments are considered Season 2 of this show[[note]]which they technically were to begin with[[/note]] and were released on this show's DVD and kept on the Diamond Collection that otherwise dropped special features.
* TheUglyGuysHotDaughter: Although she obviously takes more after her father when it comes to her personality, it's clear that Pebbles takes after her mom in looks. Bamm-Bamm's a male version; compared to the cartoony-looking Fred and Barney, he's tall, muscular and rather handsome. Justified in that he's adopted.
* WalkingDisasterArea: Schleprock.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Dino, Babypuss, Hoppy, and Gazoo are gone without a trace. Dino would return on ''The Flintstone Comedy Hour'' the following season.
* ZanyScheme: Pebbles comes up with "a crazy, hare-brained scheme" OnceAnEpisode.
