In early 2014, Creator/{{Sony}} released a trailer for a film based on the ''VideoGame/SlyCooper'' video game series. The film was set to be released in 2016 but due to [[DevelopmentHell some hiccups in development]], that didn't occur. It was to be the second film based on a Sony mascot franchise, with the first being ''WesternAnimation/RatchetAndClank2016''.

In December 2017, it was confirmed that the film has been [[http://www.toonbarn.com/other-cartoons/rainmaker-exits-sly-cooper-movie/ cancelled]] because of the other film's BoxOfficeBomb. [[TakeAThirdOption However]], [[http://www.animationmagazine.net/tv/technicolor-sony-team-on-cg-sly-cooper-series/ a television series has been announced in its place]] with its released date currently unknown.

----
!!Has the following tropes

%%* AllCGICartoon: Naturally.
%%* CompressedAdaptation: The movie was to adapt the first game's story while giving Bentley and Murray characterizations closer to the second game (Bentley is in his demolition expert attire and can drive the Cooper Gang's van, while Murray is "The Murray").
%%* DonutMessWithACop: The trio get the ''whole precinct'' after them just for taking their donuts in the teaser trailer. Granted they ''are'' wanted thieves, but still...
%%* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Averted. Unlike in the original games, Sly and Murray are wearing pants.
* StealthHiBye: In the first trailer, Sly pulls one on Bentley whilst the latter is lecturing Murray [[ItMakesSenseInContext that orange-flavored chocolates don't count as fruit.]] Bentley turns around...
--> '''Bentley:''' [[DeadpanSnarker And of course... you're gone.]]
* TakeAThirdOption: In the trailer, Sly and Bentley try to get donuts for Murray as a late night snack. They reach the donut shop just as it closes, however. But luckily there's a police station near by. Just as good as any donut shop, right?
* ThreePointLanding: In the trailer, Sly caps off his race across the rooftops to catch up with the truck driven by Bentley by jumping and landing with one arm touching the ground and the other extended to the side with his weapon.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: The trailer shows that Sly and company have been redesigned, sporting more facial features and looking slightly more realistic than their game counterparts.
