''Barbie & Her Sisters in the Great Puppy Adventure'' is a Franchise/{{Barbie}} movie released in October 2015. This is the third film in the series to feature Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea (Barbie's three younger sisters), but follows an entirely different continuity than both ''[[WesternAnimation/BarbieAPerfectChristmas A Perfect Christmas]]'' or ''[[WesternAnimation/BarbieAndHerSistersInAPonyTale A Pony Tale]]''. In fact, this movie follows the same continuity as ''WesternAnimation/BarbieDreamhouseAdventures''.

Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea are spending part of the summer visiting their grandmother, who lives in the town of Willows, Wisconsin (which is where Barbie and her sisters lived until they and their parents moved to Malibu). During this, each of the four sisters adopts a puppy (Taffy for Barbie, DJ for Skipper, Rookie for Stacie and Honey for Chelsea)--while at their grandma's house, they go through stuff in the attic and discover an old treasure map that used to belong to their grandfather. With carnies looking to stake a claim on the sleepy town of Willows, the girls (and their puppies) go on a Treasure Hunt to find the treasure and save the town.

This movie marks the first appearance of Christie in the Barbie film series, and her first appearance in the franchise overall in many years.

This movie also received two sequels: ''WesternAnimation/BarbieAndHerSistersInAPuppyChase'' (which came out in 2016) and ''WesternAnimation/BarbieDolphinMagic'' (which came out in 2017).
----
!!This movie contains examples of:
%%* EyepiecePrank: This happens to Stacie in one of the bloopers.
%%* FatAndSkinny: Joe and Marty, those two bad guy carnies.
* TheFourChordsOfPop: The music score's {{Leitmotif}}.
* LinkedListClueMethodology: Every place the girls visit has a clue that leads them to the next area, and, ultimately, the treasure.
* MeaningfulName: The names that Barbie and her sisters give to the puppies they adopt --
** Barbie names her puppy "Taffy," due to her wanting to "stick" to Barbie (and actual taffy can be pretty sticky).
** Skipper names her puppy "DJ," due to her really liking music just like Skipper.
** Stacie names her puppy "Rookie," who proves to be very sporty/athletic like Stacie is.
** Chelsea names her puppy "Honey," which could be based on the color of the puppy's fur.
* MultigenerationalHousehold: When Barbie and her sisters were still living in Wisconsin, this is what their household was like, as it's stated (and shown) that their grandmother still lives in the house that the girls and their parents used to live in before they moved out to California.
* NoNameGiven: The grandmother of Barbie and her three younger sisters is only ever referred to as "Grandma" and it's also never specified if she's their maternal grandmother (their mom's mom) or their paternal grandmother (their dad's mom). But given that Grandma looks a lot like Barbie and her sisters, and taking into consideration how Barbie and her sisters clearly take more after their mother (physically at least), it's likely that Grandma is their maternal grandmother.
* PreciousPuppy: Barbie and her sisters each adopt a puppy mothered by their grandmother's dog, Tiffany, and the puppies (who're all girls) factor into the adventure, with Taffy (Barbie's puppy) helping to save the day.
* ShoutOut: The title font and general sense of adventure hearken to the Indiana Jones movies.
** DJ may have made one to the commercials for Beggin' Strips with her cry of "Bacon!".
* TreasureMap: Barbie and her sisters finding one is what sparks the plot.
* UncattyResemblance: More personality wise than physically, but Barbie and her sisters are pretty similar to the puppies that they adopt from their grandmother. To go into greater detail:
** Taffy, the puppy adopted by Barbie, has the second lightest fur color of the four puppies (just like how Barbie has the second lightest hair color of the Roberts-sisters) and Taffy also spends most of the movie away from her sisters (just like Barbie does).
** DJ, the puppy adopted by Skipper, loves music and technology (just like Skipper does) and has the darkest-colored fur of the four puppies, just like how Skipper has the darkest hair color of the Roberts-sisters.
** Rookie, the puppy adopted by Stacie, is very athletic and loves sports (just like Stacie) and has the second darkest fur color of the four puppies, just like how Stacie has the second darkest hair color of the Roberts-sisters (although Stacie's still technically a blonde instead of a brunette).
** Honey, the puppy adopted by Chelsea, has lightest fur color of the four puppies (just like how Chelsea has the lightest hair color of the Roberts-sisters) and is prone to saying she "loves" certain things (just like Chelsea).
