''Pilot'' is a webcomic made by artist Creator/{{Mx Bones}}. The idea for Pilot was first had several years ago, but it was shelved. After their ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' AU shut down, Bones brought Pilot back with reworked versions of the AU's characters.

The comic takes place in [[TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture the year 2025,]] and stars the titular Pilot, a robot who was created by a man named Danish to fly planes. Having been built with whatever scrap parts Danish had lying around, Pilot isn't the smartest robot, and often gets into trouble with his close friends and Danish's adopted kids, Apollo, Bhanuja, and Cherry.

But it isn't all fun and games. The world of Pilot is a dark one indeed. The OB Mafia, an evil group of terrorist robots, seek to cause mayhem and destruction. Their cruel deeds have caused many people to now [[FantasticRacism distrust robots by default]].

''Pilot'' can be read on Tumblr [[http://pilot-webcomic.tumblr.com/post/116025072710/pilot-1 here.]]. The comic has not updated since March 2019.

!!Tropes are ready for takeoff!
* AndroidsArePeopleToo
* AmbiguousGender: As of 2025, people are a lot more mindful of non-binary gender identities. To combat this trope, the people of the future came up with a solution: Colored arm bands, which easily convey one's preferred pronouns so nobody gets confused. Going without an armband is perfectly legal, though you'd risk being accidentally misgendered.[[note]]For reference: Blue for he/him, pink for she/her, purple for they/their/them, gray for xe/xyr, and green for any pronouns.[[/note]]
* ArtEvolution: Because of ScheduleSlip, the artist had a lot of time to improve their art between pages. Compare [[http://pilot-webcomic.tumblr.com/post/140846735450/pilot-5 page 5]] to [[http://pilot-webcomic.tumblr.com/post/150079584410/pilot-6 page 6]], for example.
* ArtificialLimbs[=/=]ElectronicEyes: With the rise of robot parts came prosthetic limbs far more precise than what we have today. Robotic arms, legs, and even eyes are a very common sight, with several characters having them.
* BrainComputerInterface: Robots can do this, though it's unknown if there's any way for humans to do the same. The only characters seen doing it thus far are Pilot and Countdown.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: You'd be sorely mistaken if you thought Pilot was anything other than an actual plane pilot.
** The Objectheads have appliances for heads. Who'd have guessed.
* FantasticRacism: Robots (Objectheads in particular) are often hated or distrusted by a lot of humans.
* LateForSchool: The comic begins with Bhanuja late for school and making a mad dash for her classroom.
* NonHumanHead: The Objectheads have technology in place of actual heads. [=TVs=] are the most common, though radios and smartphones aren't unheard of.
* OlderIsBetter: Ahmad was a firm believer that his old cropduster, which he named the Dog-O, was just as good (if not better) than a conventional plane. He was famous for doing all his air stunts in an outdated plane instead of anything more modern.
* ProtagonistTitle: The comic is named after its main character, the Pilot.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Pilot was based very heavily on his creator's dead father, Ahmad.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: Most robots are physically very robotic, but a few (such as Norman) are so human that it's basically impossible to tell they're robots without being told.
* ShowWithinAShow: Loads of them. According to the author, most of them are ideas for other comics or games that they had, but didn't make for various reasons. They're connected to Pilot to help prevent burnout on the main comic.
* ThreeLawsCompliant: Asimov's three laws of robotics exist in the world of Pilot. However, robots aren't physically bound to the laws, but will be punished with immediate termination if they try to break them.
* TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: The comic is set in 2025, though technology has always been more advanced than it is in our world, with several robots being more than five or ten years old.
