[[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/anarchy-dreamers-vol-1-cover Anarchy Dreamers]] is an UrbanFantasy {{webcomic}} [[MagicalRealism set in a world]] where [[BackFromTheDead death often means a second chance at life]].

As some of the apparent victims of a terrible tragedy, Tabbi O'Malley and her friends have reawakened as Dreamwalkers, young people whose [[BackFromTheDead untimely deaths have resulted in their rebirth]] and [[CameBackStrong superhuman abilities.]] In the [[MassSuperEmpoweringEvent aftermath of a mysterious tragedy]], the students of Sacred Heart High [[IJustWantToBeNormal just want things to go back to normal]].

[[LifeDeathJuxtaposition Walking the line between life and death]], they can now see the [[DreamLand physical manifestations of other people’s nightmares]] in real life, [[RealityWarper reality-warping monsters]] created from [[TheHeartless fears, problems, and trauma]], are [[ChaoticEvil wreaking havoc on the school community]], [[TheCorruption possessing Dreamwalkers]], making a normal life impossible. These students take Nightmare fighting into their own hands, even at the [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished risk of expulsion]] [[ArrestedforHeroism or arrest]] [[PoliceareUseless from the law]]. Despite their [[TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening new abilities]], [[CameBackStrong physical changes]], and [[AmnesiacHero memory loss]], Tabbi and her friends try to return to their normal lives as best the can, but with little luck... That is until a [[DimensionLord shapeshifting goose in 3D glasses]] offers them some assistance.

The series was created by [[https://twitter.com/ree_emily New York-based cartoonist]] [[https://www.emilyree.com/ Emily Ree]]. There are 10 issues as of 2023, which have been collected into 2.5 print volumes. In addition to the regular ongoing webcomic, there's also a romance side series called [[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/marshmallow-horns-pt-1 Marshmallow]] [[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/marshmallow-horns-2-part-1- Horns]], and several other zines and mini-comics made by the same creator.

A current side story features the Anarchy Dreamers cast in a 5-issue comic called [[https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/emilyree/chase-me-episode-1 "Chase Me"]] backed on Kickstarter. It stars the main cast of Anarchy Dreamers playing a game of tag in a cemetery at night with Nightmares lurking around.

Currently both Chase Me and Marshmallow Horns are both being uploaded to [[https://www.webtoons.com/en/creator/Emi Webtoon]].

Anarchy Dreamers is a [[SequelSeries continuation]] of Emily Ree's [[https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Koji_Takahashi_Stops_the_World/5300257 Koji Takahashi Stops the World]] which ran from 2010 to 2013 on theduckwebcomics.com. (KTSTW for short). Anarchy Dreamers [[https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Koji_Takahashi_Stops_the_World/5442522/ continues the story from where KTSTW ends]]

----
!!Tropes:
* AdultsAreUseless: Zigzagged. Authorities, parents, and teachers and staff have created laws to prevent nightmare fighting, and they are said to be dealing with nightmares off-screen, but much of the nightmare fighting [[TheMainCharactersDoEverything is done by the main cast]].
* AerithAndBob: Most of the main cast have names that are relatively common (Cecelia, Tabbi, Luna) and ones that are pretty rare for an American setting (Devlin, Tadgh, Koji, Crow). For Tadgh and Devlin, their names are of Irish origin whereas Koji is [[ButNotTooForeign Japanese-American]]. Crow however is a nickname, his real name is [[TwoFirstNames "David-Anthony"]].
** In the O'Malley family household all of the kids except Tabbi/Tabitha have [[FamilyThemeNaming uncommon unique culturally-Irish names]]: older sister Róisín (pronounced Row-Sheen), Tabbi's twin brother Tadgh (pronounced Tie-GUH one syllable, like "Tiger" without the R), and younger sister Áine (pronounced Awn-hay like Anya; her family also calls her Annie), and then there's Tadgh's twin sister Tabbi is short for Tabitha.
** When questioned by Tadgh in the [[https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18000184066414875/ Irish Names, Part 2 comic]], the parents say they wanted to give their kids [[AncestralName family names]]. When asked why Tabitha has [[OneofTheseIsNotLikeTheOther "the one not-Irish name"]], their mom says she never had a family and was pulled out of foster system by a group of nuns and wanted to honor them with a name related to them, specifically based on the Sisters of Saint Dorcas (Tabitha is another name Saint Dorcas has). Tabitha was almost gonna be [[EmbarrassingFirstName named Dorcas]] if not [[PunnyName for the cat puns around Tabbi cat and "Tige"]].
* AllGuysWantCheerleaders: This very much applies to artsy nerd Koji, who has a giant crush on cheerleader main character Tabbi O'Malley (who also feels the same way about him) [[spoiler: Even cheerleaders are into the cheerleaders too. This also applies to school news reporter/cheerleader Sissy who joined cheerleading because of her crush on fellow cheerleader Luna]]
* AlternateTimeline: In KTSTW, [[spoiler: Koji's time power shenanigans creates one with numerous changes including a major one being he and Tabbi are dating now. But it also leads to her disappearing and going to AnotherDimension.]]
** Exaggerated: In Anarchy Dreamers [[spoiler: the ENTIRE SERIES is an alternate timeline created after Koji's TimeStandsStill antics in KTSTW and the Dream God pulling a CosmicRetcon. Numerous changes exist in the new timeline including the existence of [[BackFromTheDead Dreamwalkers]], [[MeaningfulRename Honey is now called "bee-goop", several characters names are slightly different]], and family relations between characters are different, among many other changes both big and small]].
* AffectionateNickname: Devlin calls Tadgh [[DoubleMeaning "Horny"]]; Koji at one point says to Tabbi [[ShipTease "Don't die, cutie pie."]]
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: [[spoiler: In KTSTW, [[TitleDrop Koji Takahashi does in fact stops the world]] as well as all of time and [[HeroicSacrifice at the cost of]] [[SuperPowerMeltdown exploding his own soul]] all to save [[GirlNextDoor Tabbi]] from dying in a [[TheHeartless Nightmare]] attack. It takes the Dream God's CosmicRetcon to set time right again.]]
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Olga and Luna. This extends to other dreamers, including background characters too.
* AncestralName: The O'Malley kids' names are all culturally Irish names based on family names, with Tabbi's name Tabitha being the sole exception.
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Animesque Animesque]]: Zigzagged, the art style shares traits with both early 2000s thick outline geometric/angular western animated cartoons and the Moe stylings of Japanese manga and anime. Influences from several anime and male designs inspired by American cartoons can be found through out the series primarily having design similarities to ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt'' , a Japanese anime known for an art style influenced by American cartoons.
* AnimalMotifs: An interesting example, Sissy uses her Dreamwalker shapeshifting abilities to brand herself with images of deer, especially fauns, but the actual comic narrative connects her to spiders with her ability to grow [[MultiArmedAndDangerous multiple arms]]. [[spoiler: It's because she admires/attracted to Luna and is doing it to get her attention, [[InnocentlyInsensitive but doesn't realize how doing so hurts her feelings. ]]]]
* ArtEvolution: KTSTW started in 2011 and has a manga styled artwork with realistic coloring and shading but the art style would later change to more cartoony, geometric, and stylized as time goes on. The coloring in AD is a lot more vivid and dynamic than before with more stylish action and dynamic perspective being visible.
** The side story mini comic "Chase Me" features an art style that combines the stylized look of Anarchy Dreamers with a polished and detailed stylings of KTSTW's manga-like influences, such as more details on the hair, clothes, and body proportions of the characters.
* ArtShift: KTSTW has a thin outline, sketchy line work manga-inspired art style. Anarchy Dreamers has a slightly thicker outlines, angular/geometric shape facial and body structures, and more stylized art designs creating a more "cartoon-y" art style with influences from Japanese manga and anime. KTSTW has more subdued "realistic" colors whereas Anarchy Dreamers has more saturated and lively colors reminiscent of pop art.
* AsianAndNerdy: Downplayed example; Koji Takahashi has nerdy traits, but his interests lie more in artwork rather than academia. His grades are shown to be inconsistent but this more from [[SkippingSchool skipping classes]] and [[BrilliantButLazy not really trying in school]].
* AttendingYourOwnFuneral: This was the case for many students who were brought recently back to life as Dreamwalkers after the Sacred Heart Incident on November 6th . They were attending their own candle-lit vigils dedicated to them and their deceased peers who also came back as Dreamwalkers.
* AuthorAppeal: Creator Emily Ree has a fascination with [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/IrishNames Irish names]] and gave several characters of Irish descent unique and uncommon Irish names based around this.
* AxesAtSchool: Tabbi can casually create/pull out knives from her soul at any time. Including at school or on school grounds.
** In KTSTW, [[spoiler: an [[UnknownCharacter unknown]] SpreeKiller brings a gun to Sacred Heart Academy and shoots and kills off much of the main cast aside from Koji and Tabbi who are in a dream world. Devlin and Tadgh are shown [[DiedInYourArmsTonight dying together]] [[OneHitPolyKill after getting shot by the same bullet]]. This creates a [[SchoolIsMurder a death toll 170 students and possibly school faculty too]] later [[SmallRoleBigImpact setting up]] all of these people killed off to be [[BackFromTheDead brought back to life as Dreamwalkers]] from a CosmicRetcon with a new timeline.]]
[[spoiler: It is still unknown who this shooter was but [[ConspiracyTheorist Koji questions how one shooter could kill off 170 students]] and thinks someone is hiding the truth]], [[spoiler: [[FantasticFirearms implying the shooter is supernatural in origin]] ]]. [[spoiler: By the start of Anarchy Dreamers months later, [[TheUnsolvedMystery the November 6th incident remains unsolved]] ]].
** [[spoiler: [[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/page-115-2 On Page 115-2]], its revealed that something that looks like Cecelia was responsible for the shooting. Or at least that's the form it took.]]
* BackFromTheDead: Exaggerated; Most of the main cast are Dreamers brought back to life after an incident that took their lives prior to the events of the main story. Young people under the age of 25 have an incredibly high likelihood of coming back to life as a Dreamer in the Anarchy Dreamers world. Although its stated that death is not always required to become a Dreamwalker; [[TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening anyone under the age of 25 who has experienced a traumatic event has the potential to become one]].
* BadassAdorable: Thanks to the rather [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Moe Moe]] art-style, mostly everyone is this.
* BatterUp: Devlin, who wields a metal bat. Justified, in that she's a high school softball athlete.
* BetaCouple: Tadgh and Devlin are a couple by the start of Anarchy Dreamers. Meanwhile main pairing Koji and Tabbi's relationship status starts off [[WillTheyOrWontThey ambiguous up-in-the-air]] but are [[RelationshipUpgrade gradually acting more like a couple as time goes on]].
* BigApplesauce: The main characters live in fictional Rockview, Queens.
* BigDamnKiss: [[spoiler: Tabbi and Koji share a kiss in a costume shop which in doing so restores a large chunk of missing memories they forgot a year ago, including parts of the old KTSTW timeline as well as some new memories not yet seen before.]]
* BirthdayBuddies: Tabbi and Tadgh share a birthday together. Justified in that they are twins. [[spoiler: in KTSTW, Tadgh is Tabbi's cousin who lives with her (his parents reside in California) but in this timeline after the CosmicRetcon changes, they're twins who share a birthday.]]
* TheBlank: [[spoiler: The Volume 2 title: "The Girl with No Face" refers to Cecelia. Cecelia briefly becomes this after becoming recently awakened. She's suffering from PowerIncontinence from not realizing how her new shape-shifting powers work.]]
* BrattyHalfPint: Koji's younger sister Shiori AKA Darby, is at an age where she loves pulling pranks. She's a toned down version of this trope as Koji isn't really bothered by her too much.
* BuffySpeak: Most of the main cast can talk like this but not all the time. Makes sense since most of them are teenagers. The dialogue in this comic for the most part is mostly naturalistic.
* CallingYourAttacks: Sissy [[http://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/page-59 names all her attack moves.]]
* CameraFiend: Downplayed example with Dimitri. Photography is his main hobby. He takes photos for school events.
* CaneFu: Crow uses his walking crutch to channel his electricity powers and fire it like a LightningGun.
* CannotSpitItOut: In KTSTW, Devlin has trouble telling Tadgh her feelings because she has problems expressing her feelings. Though she does get better at this in Anarchy Dreamers.
* CareerEndingInjury: Heavily Downplayed; Crow is a popular athlete at Sacred Heart Academy, specifically for the basketball team, and has his right leg in a cast since the beginning of the Anarchy Dreamers due of [[NoodleIncident an off-screen incident where his cousin Alexa turned into a Nightmare and chased after him]] [[LookBothWays which led to him running away and getting hit by an oncoming bus]]. While he's off the team for now, his leg will eventually heal and that hasn't stopped him from [[HandicappedBadass fighting Nightmares]] [[CaneFu with his walking crutch]] or playing tag in a [[CreepyCemetery Nightmare-infested graveyard at night with his friends]].
* ChildhoodFriends: In KTSTW, Koji has living next to Tabbi and Tadgh for 5 years and have been friends with them since he was 11-12 years old. In Anarchy Dreamers, despite now living in an apartment, they're still neighbors and close friends.
* TheChosenOne TheChosenMany: Tabbi and her friends were chosen by the Dream God to fulfill some bigger scope mission on its behalf. Devlin wonders why they were chosen and what makes them special but Koji thinks there's no real reason why they were chosen and "specialness" has nothing to do with it.
* CivvieSpandex: Downplayed: None of the cast wears a "costume" while fighting Nightmares. They all just wear their uniforms or their casual attire. The most they is wear a face mask like Tabbi or Koji to hide their identity since [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished citizens fightings nightmares on their own is illegal in New York.]] Several people in the main cast have expressed interest in individual group costumes inspired by [[SuperheroesWearTights superhero outfits]] or [[FrillsOfJustice magical girl uniforms]] but nothing has stuck since distinct flashy outfits would attract unwanted attention and what they're doing is illegal.
* ChristianityIsCatholic: Downplayed, the main cast attends a Catholic School with each of them being varying degrees of religious. Tabbi and Tadgh are shown practicing lent and going to church around Christmas, while Koji says he just attends the school and isn't too pious. At one point when things go wrong for Koji, he starts wondering if he's [[RaisedCatholic being punished for going to Catholic school but not being that religious]].
* ClashingCousins: Downplayed; Devlin is Crow's cousin and lives with him and his family. While they might get on each other's nerves, they don't really fight or bicker. Crow has gotten so used to Devlin being around the house that he sees her more like a CoolBigSis rather than a cousin.
** Alexa is also Crow's cousin too.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Downplayed; When Tabbi goes to see Koji and in the art classroom to show him the cafeteria's weird looking food, she seems Miho keeping him company while he paints. While Tabbi doesn't say anything or act on this momentm her sudden pause implies she's jealous of how close Miho is acting around him. Weirdly enough, this pause in her emotions [[DrivenByEnvy implies to help]] [[HealingFactor regenerate a little bit]] of her [[WoundThatWillNotHeal unhealed right eye]].
* ClusterFbomb: Dimitri can go from a [[TheQuietOne quiet kid]] to spewing out [[AtomicFBomb loud]], rapid-fire expletives like a sailor.
* ConspiracyTheorist: Cecelia loves conspiracy theories and loves to dig up stories as a SchoolNewspaperNewshound. She also really loves aliens and is seen wearing little green men alien themed attire in her casual clothing.
* ContrastingSequelProtagonist: In KTSTW, Koji Takahashi was [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent your average]], [[SensitiveArtist reserved artistic]] [[NerdActionHero nerd]] that lived a [[DysfunctionalFamily dysfunctional but normal life]] that gets [[IncitingIncident upended by a car crash]] giving him [[TimeStop time-stopping powers]] and later faces [[ClockRoaches supernatural phenomena]]. In Anarchy Dreamers, Tabbi O'Malley is a [[GenkiGirl spirited]], [[TheIdealist optimistic]] [[PomPomGirl cheerleader]] with [[CheeryPink bright pink]] [[RoseHairedSweetie hair]] and [[HornedHumanoid little "devil" horns]] who currently lives in a world where [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight supernatural phenomena]] [[MagicalRealism is now an everyday occurrence]]. Koji's and Tabbi's roles as "main protagonist" and "main love interest" in KTSTW respectively switch in Anarchy Dreamers with Tabbi becoming the "default" main protagonist and Koji being her primary love interest. Although, [[DayInTheLimelight much of the main cast gets their own spotlight moments]]. Despite their [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Foil contrasting personalities]], [[EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo Koji and Tabbi]] are still really close ChildhoodFriends, with a [[OppositesAttract mutual attraction to each other]].
* ContrastingSequelSetting: It's still a Queens, NY neighborhood but what was once a "normal" town upended by supernatural time-stopping is now an UrbanFantasy MagicalRealism setting with resurrected young people and human nightmares becoming real.
* CoolDownHug: Devlin to Tadgh, after [[spoiler: a misunderstanding between them leads to Tadgh's insecurities reaching a boiling point almost causing him to be [[TheCorruption corrupted]] into a Nightmare. The hug and some words of encouragement from Devlin helps and he goes back to normal]].
* CosmicRetcon: [[spoiler: the Dream God after the events of Koji Takahashi Stops the World does this and resets the universe into becoming the Anarchy Dreamers universe]]
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Cosplay Cosplay]]: Tabbi has been shown to take an interest in cosplay. For a class, she had to sew together an outfit, so she chose [[OccidentalOtaku the main character's outfit from her favorite anime "Sayonara Nyanko"]]. She later wears this outfit as a costume for Saint Dorcas Day Eve. She's later seen sewing costumes for the Drama Club's school play.
* CreatorProvincialism: The story takes place in Rockview, Queens NYC. Author Emily Ree lives in New York City.
* CreepyCatholicism: Nightmare possessed dreamers can take on numerous different forms depending on what caused the victims emotions to overwhelm them. Two nightmares found in a local graveyard took on the appearance of tiny [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Moe Moe]] [[LightIsNotGood angels]]. Nightmare-possessed dreamers have also taken the form of winged angelic versions of the victims with [[BloodStainedGlassWindows broken stain glass window-like wings]] and [[TheBlank blank]] faces.
* CulturallyReligious: While some characters don't exhibit signs of religion, their upbringing in a Catholic school can manifest themselves with feelings or guilt and unworthiness that enhances getting possessed by a nightmare. For example, when influenced by a Nightmare, some students think they "deserve" what's happening to them due to some perceived sin they've committed.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Luna's past is implied to have one. [[spoiler: In the past, she was [[BackFromTheDead awakened as a Dreamwalker]] after being starved to death by the Cult of Saint Dorcas]] .
* DecoyProtagonist: [[spoiler: Arguably Koji Takahashi himself is one. Much of KTSTW is a Prequel that sets up the world of Anarchy Dreamers. [[TitleDrop Koji may have stopped the world as the title implies]] but hints about Tabbi's [[DelicateandSickly younger years on life support]] giving her access to a [[AfterlifeAntechamber dream pocket dimension somewhere between life and death]] hint at more to come from her and her connection to the dream world and the creation of Dreamwalkers; setting her up to be the main focal point protagonist for Anarchy Dreamers.]]
* DeusExMachina: [[spoiler: it takes the Dream God to institute a CosmicRetcon and create a MagicalRealism UrbanFantasy World to save all of the main characters and set time right by the end of KTSTW, setting the stage for Anarchy Dreamers.]]
* DidntSeeThatComing: Not said aloud, but its Koji and Devlin's general reaction [[spoiler: to a recently [[BodySnatcher possessed]] Nightmare Version of Tabbi; [[TheBlank with no face]], [[BloodStainedGlassWindows broken stain glass window]] [[FallenAngel angel wings]], and [[AnthropomorphicFood made of ice cream]]; leans into Koji, [[DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu hugs him and kisses him on the lips]] during a Nightmare attack at a Saint's Day party at Alexa's place.]]
* DifferentlyPoweredIndividual: Dreamers, young people brought back to life or who had a traumatic event and gain supernatural abilities are called this.
* DisappearedDad: Koji's dad isn't present in the Takahashi household. Prior to KTSTW, he left his wife and their mom moved them to Queens, New York. At some point, it's implied he passed away at age 40.
* DreamWalker: What the dreamer population are called due to their ability to spot manifestations of people's nightmares
* DontYouDarePityMe: Tabbi hates being viewed as a victim or fragile from dying and coming back to life and views fighting back against nightmares as rebelling against that perception around Dreamers.
* DoubleMeaning: Devlin [[AffectionateNickname nicknames Tadgh as "Horny"]], both for his [[HornedHumanoid horns]] and [[EatingTheEyeCandy how flustered he gets around her]].
* EasterEgg: Hovering your mouse over webcomic pages can reveal little details about characters and the world.
* EmbarrassingOldPhoto: When going through old photos from Tabbi's last birthday from a year ago [[AmnesiacHero to jog her memory back]], one photo features Crow giving Tabbi a kiss on the cheek which she doesn't remember at all. Cue Tabbi screaming in embarrassment into her hands while in a TroubledFetalPosition. [[StraightGay Crow's boyfriend Dimitri]] looks at the photo and says: [[AmbiguouslyBi "Ey Pollitucci, I didn't know you swung that way."]]. So Crow [[CaneFu whacks him with his walking crutch]] causing Dimitri to fly up to the corner of the room due to his [[NotQuiteFlight floating powers]].
* EmotionalPowers: Devlin's fire abilities flare up when she gets frustrated or angry. Dimitri's floating power activate when he's feeling sad or melancholic.
* EroticDream: In KTSTW, issue #1 opens with a such a dream from Koji thinking about Tabbi crawling toward him [[AlmostKiss about to kiss him]]. In Anarchy Dreamers, Issue #3 also opens with another dream from Koji AGAIN thinking about Tabbi, this time [[IntimateArtistry offering herself up]] [[PublicExposure as a figure drawing model for his art]]. In both cases, he [[AllJustADream wakes up]] before the dream gets too extreme.
* EverybodyHatesMath: Koji is awful at Math Class. Though doing poorly in most subjects because he doesn't try and he's skipping class.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: Dreamwalkers are [[http://anarchydreamers.com/index.php?id=6 made]] [[http://anarchydreamers.com/index.php?id=82 out of]] [[http://anarchydreamers.com/index.php?id=101 glitter]]
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: in KTSTW, Koji with his TimeStandsStill powers, does in fact, stop the world. [[spoiler: and all of time and in doing so explodes his own soul to save Tabbi from getting eaten by a star-shaped Nightmare monster. Though they're safe by the time Anarchy Dreamers starts]].
* ExtremelyShortTimespan: Everything that happens in KTSTW, takes place over the course of a single day on November 6th. Although a lot happens due to Koji's new [[TimeStandsStill time freezing powers]]. [[spoiler: everything from this day sets up the Anarchy Dreamers timeline]].
** Anarchy Dreamers as of now takes place over the course of at most 3 weeks into April; about 5 months after the November 6th Sacred Heart Incident.
** The webcomic opens up where Cece is [[TheCorruption possessed by a Nightmare]] and the very next day makes a quick recovery, later leads the main them into a graveyard with a new set of nightmares lurking, joins in one the fight, and makes time for a Saint Dorcas Day party the next day. Tabbi, when trying to cheer her up at a party, [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] how she's been able to do all of this in the span of 24 hours.
* EyeColourChange: In KTSTW, Tabbi has light green eyes. In Anarchy Dreamers after becoming a recently awakened Dreamwalker, her eyes appear more light blue.
* EyepatchOfPower: Tabbi has a white medical eyepatch over her right eye from injuries she sustained [[spoiler: after getting hurt in the dream realm in the climax to KTSTW.]] While Dreamwalkers have some regenerative powers, her eye still hasn't fully healed yet, but that doesn't stop her from fighting Nightmares alongside Koji and the others. [[spoiler: Her eye does fully heal after sharing a BigDamnKiss with Koji that also brings them back their RepressedMemories she forgotten TraumaInducedAmnesia from both the previous KTSTW timeline and the current AD timeline. Although her eye is back, she apparently still can't see out of it yet.]]
* FictionalSocialNetwork: All the teens are seen using an app on their phone called "Dreamr" to communicate with each other. From appearances it looks like a combination of Tumblr and Twitter with a different color pallete.
* FightingIrish: Downplayed, Tabbi and Devlin are Irish-American and are quick to jump into the fight against Nightmares; Tabbi because she wants to make a difference and Devlin due to her rambunctious punk nature. Inverted for Tadgh, who would much rather stay out of trouble.
* FirstEpisodeResurrection: It's explained at the beginning of the webcomic that all 170 students killed at the Sacred Heart Incident have been brought back to life as Dreamwalkers [[InMediasRes prior to the current events of the story]].
* Flight: Dimitri's main ability is floating in the air. He uses this ability to get better angles for his photography. Its unknown by doctors if this is [[NotQuiteFlight flying or levitation]].
* ForeignCultureFetish: Downplayed example: Koji Takahashi has an interest in Irish culture and love Irish food like soda bread. In a sketch drawing, he's seen wearing a sweatshirt saying: "not Irish but supportive."
** In KTSTW, [[https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Koji_Takahashi_Stops_the_World/5311263/ the description from this page]] reveals that he's actually 1/4 Irish from his mother's side of the family, he has reddish hair and grey eyes from his mom's side, and that his mom's maiden name was "Gallagher".
** He's also [[ShipTease got feelings for a certain tiny devil cheerleader Irish girl...]]
* FoulCafeteriaFood: Tabbi considers the food served in the cafeteria so weird and gross she makes the sign of the cross just looking at it. The meal contains something with tentacles and something redacted in the speech bubble. Though to the rest of the school, this food is normal and festive for the upcoming Saint Dorcas Day Eve.
* FoulWaterfowl: The Dream God takes the form of a goose that sometimes wears 3D glasses or sometimes Koji's glasses. While relatively friendly, its incredibly powerful and has numerous unpredictable eccentricities.
Despite this, he's seen to be [[BigGood on the side of the main characters]]. [[spoiler: he's the one who created a CosmicRetcon to bring everyone back to life at the climax of KTSTW and is implied to be a force holding back some [[VaguenessIsComing vague malevolent force]].]]
* GenkiGirl: Tabbi is very enthusiastic and optimistic especially compared to her peers. Though she is a lot more [[GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak rough and tumble]] compared to most examples
* GarageBand: In the Pepperoni Quattro zine, Devlin, Crow, and Tadgh [[BandEpisode start a band]] with little to know experience singing. Devlin says she's an excellent singer and is an alto, which some people treat like a personality disorder. Crow says that it is, which pisses her off enough to him him.
* GiantSpider: A Nightmare possessed Cecelia turns into one after stress involving a story she wrote for the school paper not being received well. She wrecks havoc outside of the school on the night of their Saint Day School Festival in the gym. She turns back to normal with the help from Koji and Tabbi. Though she still tries puts them under [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished citizen's arrest because what they did was illegal]].
* GirlNextDoor: In KTSTW, Tabbi has shades of this character type and literally lives right next door to Koji in the suburbs. In Anarchy Dreamers, Tabbi and Koji live in the same apartment building as each other with Tabbi living below him. [[spoiler: this is one of the many minor changes in between the timelines after the Dream god's CosmicRetcon]]
* GirlyBruiser: Tabbi especially. She's a WideEyedIdealist GenkiGirl who won't hesitate to fight Nightmares herself.
* GuiltyPleasures: When Devlin makes fun of Koji's new haircut and compares him to a KPOP singer, Koji casually insinuates that Devlin, a self-proclaimed punk rock girl, listens to mainstream pop music. [[InsultBackfire She immediately gets defensive over being on the receiving end now]].
* HairColors: Tabbi has pink and blue hair. Her status as a Dreamwalker and her history or dying her hair in KTSTW makes it hard to tell if [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane if this is her new natural hair color or if she just dyed it those colors like in the old universe]].
* HairTriggerTemper: Devlin can flare up pretty easily. Not helped by her [[EmotionalPowers fire powers flaring up when her mood gets heated]].
* HalfIdenticalTwins: Tabbi and Tadhg are twin siblings; though their Dreamer appearances don't make them look that similar
* HandicappedBadass: Even with a right leg in a cast, Crow is still capable of fighting nightmares beside his friends with his ShockAndAwe powers and even uses his [[CaneFu walking crutch]] to [[LightningGun shoot electricity]].
* TheHeartless: Nightmares that [[BodySnatcher possess people]] to [[WasOnceAMan turn them into monsters]] and [[RealityWarper warp reality]] are created from fears, problems, and trauma that people have.
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Hikikomori Hikikomori]]: Koji's older sister Sayomi is a borderline shut-in who barely interacts with her family outside of leaving passive-aggressive to flat out aggressive sticky notes around the house. Though unlike most examples she does work a part-time job in food service.
* HormoneAddledTeenager: All of the main cast have shown interest in someone, but especially Koji and Tadgh. Koji has [[EroticDream erotic dreams]] about [[GirlNextDoor Tabbi]] in both KTSTW and Anarchy Dreamers. Tadgh gets easily flustered by Devlin's suggestive teasing. Devlin also [[TheNicknamer nicknames]] Tadgh [[AffectionateNickname "Horny"]] for his "tiny devil horns" and his [[EatingTheEyeCandy obvious attraction for her]]. In a [[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/guest-comic-1 guest comic]] he's imagined her as a [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Dominatrix Dominatrix.]]
* HornedHumanoid: Most Dreamerwalkers have horns or head protrusion of some kind to indicate their status as awakened Dreamers. Tabbi, Tadgh, Dimitri all have small "devil horns" on their head; Luna has deer antlers; Miho has fox/cat like ears; Mateo has puppy dog-like ears sticking out of his head. Devlin doesn't have horns but flame horns appear when her fire powers combust. Not every dreamer has head protrusions though. Crow and Koji have abilities and can have facial changes but do not possess the horns similar to their peers.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Cecelia invites much of the main cast to talk about Nightmare sightings but is implied to just want to hang out with them because she thinks they're cool.
* ImaginaryLoveTriangle: Several people at school think Tabbi has [[LoveTriangle competition]] with Miho Miyamoto for Koji's affection. Tabbi is seen getting a little jealous when Miho spends time around Koji. However, its pretty clear that while Koji does get flustered around Miho, he's pretty [[EveryoneCanSeeIt clearly attracted to Tabbi]].
* ImmediateSelfContradiction: Tabbi invites all her friends to discuss Cecelia wanting to talk to them, she says "I've gathered all of you here so we can discuss this like grown-ups." Cut to everything at the lunch room table acting immature.

He's had his right leg in a cast and has been on crutches since the start of Anarchy Dreamers. He even has it on his cast bio page and subsequent side stories. While it hasn't let him compete in sports, it's not debilitating enough to make him stop go after Nightmares with his friends.
* InsecureLoveInterest: Tadgh is this for Devlin. He frequently puts himself down with his doubts that Devlin would like him. Even after its already confirmed she likes him and they begin dating as a couple, he still has self-worth issues and insecurities about being loved back. [[spoiler: These insecurities almost transform him into a [[TheCorruption nightmare]] if not for Devlin's interference.]]
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Intangibility Intangibility]]: One of Koji's secondary powers. He can physically phase himself and other people with him through and physical matter in this intangible state. Unfortunately, [[PowerIncontinence he can sometimes unintentionally phase through objects when he doesn't want to or when he's not concentrating.]]
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Tabbi and Tagh have difficulty remembering the events that happened a year ago due to their status as recently awakened dreamers. Although in their case, their memory loss has lasted more than others. Tabbi can't recall her last birthday despite being shown photographic evidence and Tadgh has lose some reading comprehension and has to keep up. Several of the main cast also have forgotten events that happened a year ago [[spoiler: Much of these memories are events from the old universe before the Dream God used a CosmicRetcon to recreate the universe as it is now.]]
* LightIsNotGood: Two little Angel Nightmares seen in the graveyard are wrecking havoc. Later they appear again, causing chaos at Tabbi's Birthday/Saint Day party at Alexa's home. It's implied they serve [[BigBad a more dangerous threat]].
* LovingBully: Downplayed example. Before they started, Devlin had a hard time expressing herself around Tadgh and would frequently tease him and punch him in the arm after every other remark she gave him. All of this to cover up her feelings for him. After they started dating, she became something of a TricksterGirlfriend who still engages in RomanticRibbing.

* MassSuperEmpoweringEvent: The Sacred Heart Incident. An unknown shooter kills 170 students at Sacred Heart Academy [[spoiler: happening at the same time Koji activates his time-stop powers and freezes the entire world and all of time at the expense of his [[SuperPowerMeltdown soul exploding]] to [[HeroicSacrifice save Tabbi]]. [[TricksterGod The Dream God]] [[DealWithTheDevil makes a deal with antagonistic entity]] to put in a CosmicRetcon to remake the world and revive everyone killed, creating the Anarchy Dreamers world]]. All 170 students come back to life as Dreamwalkers, with [[PersonalityPowers supernatural abilities]] and are targeted by [[TheHeartless Nightmares]].
* MeaningfulRename: Played with, with something rather mundane. In the Anarchy Dreamers universe, honey is referred to as "bee-goop" [[spoiler: this is one of the many changes that happened after the CosmicRetcon that created the world as it is now. Characters that call it honey see this as hints of a cosmic change and are slowly getting memories from the old timeline.]]
** [[spoiler: Some characters are named differently in the Anarchy Dreamers timeline. Crow Politucci and is now named Crow Pallatucci. Devlin Owens is now Devlin Olsen]].

** Tabbi has been shown to draw in chibi art style and has taken an interest in cosplay. For a class, she had to sew together an outfit, so she chose the main character's outfit her favorite anime "Sayonara Nyanko". She later wears this outfit as a costume for Saint Dorcas Day Eve.
** Dialogue from Cecelia and Fatima implies that they're also fans of "Sayonara Nyanko" too.
* NightmareFetishist: In both the introductions to KTSTW and Anarchy Dreamers, Devlin has an interest and fascination with vomit and barfing as a self-described enthusiast. She especially likes when Koji feels nauseous from his time-stopping power because he has [[VomitDiscretionShot "vomit-splosions"]]. She gets him oyster crackers to help with his stomach. According to her in KTSTW, [[NoodleIncident Koji once threw up on the tilt-a-whirl ride at Six Flags Amusement park]].

** Koji also has shades of this sometimes
* OppositesAttract: Nearly all of the main cast pairings that have signs of mutual attraction have contrasting personalities: Outgoing Tabbi with reserved Koji; Brash and confident Devlin with non-confrontational and insecure Tadgh; jovial Crow with melancholic Dimitri, and [[spoiler: intrepid Cecelia with standoffish Luna]].
* PastLifeMemories: Tabbi and Tadgh, lose a bunch of memories from a year ago and its taking them a long time to gain them back. [[spoiler: Part of the memories they lost are old memories from the KTSTW timeline as well as new memories in the Anarchy Dreamers timeline. Tabbi and Koji gains some of these back after they share a BigDamnKiss in a costume shop]]
** For Koji, he's says he's lost some memory too [[spoiler: bu while he's lost memory, [[RippleEffectProofMemory its implied that he knows more about the past than he's letting on]]. He may be aware that his TimeStandsStill powers being abused from the KTSTW timeline served as a catalyst for [[CosmicRetcon changing the world into the Anarchy Dreamers world]] we know today.]]
* PerkyGoth: Tabbi has shades of this. The general aesthetic of Anarchy dreamers is self-described as "soft pastel goth/pop punk"
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/PassiveAggressive Passive Aggressive]]: Koji's sister Sayomi is this, leaving post-it notes around the house berating people, especially Koji over minor things without talking to them directly. [[spoiler: She gets shaken up when Koji uses his TimeStandsStill powers and starts leaving notes of his own around the house calling out her negative behavior and traits like [[NeverMyFault blaming others for her own problems]].]]
** [[spoiler: When Koji later realizes that his TimeStandsStill powers are [[ForWantOFANail causing problems from his overuse of time stopping]] he starts to think that everything is going wrong because he chooses to solve problems in a passive aggressive manner rather than face them directly]].

* PowerCopying: [[spoiler: After sharing a BigDamnKiss at a costume shop, Tabbi and Koji not only regain lost memories they've forgotten, but later in the day are shown sharing their supernatural abilities together because of it. Koji has [[PowerofCreation Tabbi's soul weapons summoning powers]] and Tabbi has Koji's [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Intangibility phase through solid objects power]]. ]]
* PowerOfCreation: With her Dreamer soul abilities making her composed of glitter and knives, Tabbi can make glittery knives and blades of any kind. This includes other forms of cutlery and sharp objects, like forks for eating. And at point, a microphone to cheer up Cecelia by asking about her life.
* PrecisionFStrike: Tabbi is said to made up of "unexpected swearing".

** The Pepperoni Quattro zine opens up with a page saying this comic is for you if "you're a former band kid, you were raised Catholic but now identify as a flavor of [[CulturallyReligious guilt-ridden]] bisexual witch, you listen to Dnd Podcasts but are [[ContinuityLockOut too scared to play]], or [[TakeAThirdOption you read Anarchy Dreamers]]."
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: In Marshmallow Horns Part 2, Koji uses his [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Intangibility Intangibility powers]] to see Tabbi while she is in quarantine for her recently awakened unstable Dreamwalker status. This being the first time he's seen her as a Dreamwalker, Koji is taken aback by seeing her with horns now. So much that [[https://www.anarchydreamers.com/comic/marshmallow-horns-2-part-2 he keeps repeating "you have horns" on every other sentence]] when he reunites with her.

That he's aware of the events from the previous KTSTW timeline that happened before the main series.]]
* RomanticRibbing: Tadgh and Devlin are currently dating and Devlin frequently teases Tadgh on a regular basis. [[spoiler: He doesn't always appreciate it]] [[spoiler: it once made an insecure Tadgh think AmIJustAToyToYou? she was only toying with his feelings for a sick joke]] which [[spoiler: [[BrokenTears almost lead to him becoming a Nightmare]], only to be stopped by a CoolDownHug from her. Devlin tells him that [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre she would never joke about these feelings she has for him.]] ]]
* RuggedScar: Koji has a round bite-mark shaped scar on his neck. [[spoiler: This was from a star-shaped nightmare that chomped on him from behind in the dream realm during the climax to KTSTW. Months after recovering in the hospital a bite mark is left behind in place of that encounter.]]
* RuleAbidingRebel: Tadgh, he's too cautious and caring about the people around him and social issues. He's considered "rebellious" only because his sister is getting involved in Nightmare fighting. Devlin said that for someone with tiny devil horns, he should try to be more [[RockMeAsmodeus "hardcore"]] and less [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Emo "emotional white boy"]].
* SafetyInIndifference: Zigzagged with Tadgh; He doesn't want to get involved in fighting nightmares because of how much of a danger it is and how it puts him, his sister, and his friends at risk and thinks it would be better to not get involved in them, but still helps them out anyway out of his concern for them. Outside of this Tadgh cares a great deal for social issues and others well-being. So much so that when he told his sister he was giving up "giving a fuck" for Lent, Tabbi did not believe him at all (with a [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Montages Montage Sequence]] of all the times he's seen caring too much playing in her mind).

He still has scars on his arms, near the wrists. Tabbi is implied by flashbacks to have been entrusted to hold onto the blades and other sharp objects around the house to prevent Tadgh from hurting himself even more; its implied this past memory of responsibility is why her soul is "made up of knives." and can summon bladed weapons from them.]]

* SoulPower: All of the Dreamers supernatural abilities comes from manipulating their own resurrected Dreamer souls. For example, Tabbi's soul can be split apart and made into various forms of blades and cutlery. Other can even use these "soul blades" with no discomfort to her at all (she likens it to people tugging strands of her hair).
* SomethingElseAlsoRises: When Miho tries to [[TheTease flirt]] with Koji at a Saint Dorcas Day party while touching his crotch, a soul sword similar to the ones Tabbi uses protrudes out from where she touched him. It's implied that this soul sword coming out is due to Koji and Tabbi [[BigDamnKiss sharing a kiss earlier that day and regaining memories for each other]] and this is one of the effects it has on his body. One the same page, Tabbi somewhere else at the party explains that other people can use her "soul weapons" just fine and that it at most feels like a little pressure just like tugging at her hair but no pain.
* SouthernBelle: In KTSTW, when Koji tells Devlin to lie in bed next to him in order for both of them to fall asleep together as a part of his plan to fix everything, Devlin starts imitating a Southern Belle acting hysterical from "proposing to sleep with him." Koji is not amused at all.
* StockShonenHero/ StockLightNovelHero: Played with for Koji Takahashi; he has traits of the former and latter. [[WordOfGod The creator of the series says]] [[https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Koji_Takahashi_Stops_the_World/5336589/ in the description of this FAQ comic that Koji was created with a shonen hero in mind. Since the character archetype comes from Japanese media, it made sense to her to make him Japanese-American.]] For the former trope, he isn't quite as HotBlooded, [[IdiotHero dense]], or physically strong as other examples. For the latter trope, he has traits of being an UnfazedEveryman, [[NewPowersAsThePlotDemands has been given superpowers]], some shades of [[DeadpanSnarker snarkiness]], [[GeniusBruiser shades of being clever mid-fight]], [[ChickMagnet has at least two girls showing signs of attraction towards him]]. For an everyman character, some also readers find him [[BishonenJumpSyndrome very handsome, which means he can overlap with shonen characters that are designed to be attractive pretty boys]]. He however unlike most examples is not in an [[TrappedInAnotherWorld Isekai]] (although this is debatable if [[spoiler: the world you currently live in gets remade into a new one counts as an Isekai, since Isekai translates to "another world"]]
* StraightGay: Crow and Dimitri are dating each other. Neither of them are shown exhibiting any stereotypical gay mannerisms.
* SuperPowerMeltdown: [[spoiler: In KTSTW, Koji's soul explodes from overuse of his TimeStandsStill power to stop the whole world and all of time just to [[AlwaysSaveTheGirl save]] [[GirlNextDoor Tabbi.]] ]]
* TheTeamNormal: Miho asks Koji if he feels like the odd one out in his group of friends since they all have [[PersonalityPowers powers]] and [[HornedHumanoid unique appearances]] since he looks the most "normal". But he assures her that he does have a cool ability and his face can glow like a TV. It's implied she already knows this and is only doing this to tease him.
* TheTease: Devlin to Tadgh, especially after they started dating
** Miho can be this to Koji when she tries to flirt with him.
* TimeFreezeTrollingSpree: What Koji does the moment he gets time stopping powers in KTSTW. 195* TimeRewindMechanic: In KTSTW, a car crash happens activating Koji's new time stop powers. At some point, time reverses and the car crash never happens, but Koji keeps his TimeStandsStill powers from this point on. Tabbi and Tadgh in the car with him don't remember the car crashing at all. This is the only time we've seen time reverse.
* TimeStandsStill: Koji Takahashi's main super power. It makes him [[GreenAroundTheGills nauseous every time he uses it]], though he develops a higher tolerance the more he uses it. The events of Koji Takahashi Stops the World ends with [[spoiler: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Koji stopping the world]] and all of time to save Tabbi from getting killed at the expense of his own [[PowerIncontinence soul exploding from his unstable time power]]. Though with intervention from he Dream God, he universe resets into the Anarchy Dreamers universe bringing back everyone who was killed]].

[[spoiler: its implied its from the trauma they suffered at the climax to KTSTW, and Tabbi got some memories back after a BigDamnKiss with Koji]].
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: Anyone under the age of 25 who has experienced a traumatic event has the potential to become a Dreamwalker and [[MassSuperEmpoweringEvent gain supernatural powers]]
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Troll Troll]]: In Marshmallow Horns, Tadgh starts playing "Wonderwall" by Oasis on guitar which causes Devlin to laugh [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MyGodYouAreSerious only for her to realize he actually is playing the song]]. Devlin [[DontExplainTheJoke says the joke]] [[DeadHorseTrope is to not actually play the song Wonderwall due to how overplayed its become]] and says Tadgh, who has tiny devil horns play be more hardcore music and less [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EmoMusic "emotional white boy" music]]. Tadgh then starts playing "Hey there Delilah" by The Plain White T's just to annoy her even more.
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tsundere Tsundere]]: Devlin has shades of this especially in Marshmallow Horns. She has difficulty expressing her feelings and has a HairTriggerTemper. She gets better once she actually starts being more honest with Tadgh and they start dating.
