Pokemon Pals is a web series on Website/YouTube that parodies the Franchise/Pokemon franchise. It is set 8 years after the events on the show. Ash is an idiot, who is only obsessed with Pokemon. He is completely oblivious to Misty's advances, and doesn't even know what sex is. Brock is a cynical pervert, who left with Ash and Misty to escape his wife. Surprisingly Misty is the straight man of the group. The story marks the groups adventures, from them getting into trouble with the law, to getting in trouble with PETA. The first episode can be found here.

!!Pokemon Pals provides examples of:

* BerserkButton:
** If you mention Brock's eyes, he gets extremely pissed.
** When Ash and James are in a fight, James is kicking Ash's ass, until he steals Ash's hat. Then Ash loses it... He essentially becomes an animal that latches on to James' leg with his teeth.
** "Snorlax", if he finds out someone thinks Team Rocket is a joke.
** Comparing Misty to May or calling her "May" is one way to get hit in the "PokéBalls" by her, especially if you're Ash.
* BittersweetEnding: In the end, Ash has to fake his own death, still doesn't have his license, and has a dream that teaches him to never get close to anyone, because they will betray you. This essentially ruins any possibility of Misty and him ever getting together.
* BrokenPedestal: First Ash finds out Professor Oak is skilled at helping people fake their deaths. He then finds out the professor was just about to euthanize Pikachu when he showed up. Finally, he discovers the whole reason that Professor Oak helped him on his way to leave Pallet Town was so he could seduce Ash's mother.
* CatchPhrase: "It's all part of being a Pokemon Master!"
* DirtyCop: All Officer Jennys are corrupt. One takes bribes, another helps run a fighting ring, and another agrees to let Ash go if he doesn't report that she sicked a Growlithe on him after macing him in the face.
* DeadpanSnarker: Brock is a perfect example of this.
* DealWithTheDevil: Misty compares making a deal with Giovanni as this.
* DirtyOldMan: Apparently, the group ran into one of these offscreen. Misty says that will likely be what Brock is like when he is old.
* DisappearedDad: Ash's father left when Ash was very young. He doesn't remember anything about him.
** Brock is one of these. He left his wife and kids because he wanted to able to sleep around. He continues to travel with the group as an excuse.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Butch, who acts rather jovial, before he breaks someone's knee. As he tells his next victim:
** "The world is full of frauds, who will do anything to get what they want. Sometimes, they'll even act nice, but you must never let your guard down, because they are wicked on the inside, whether you know it or not."
* GaggingOnYourWords: When Brock has to tell Ash " I believe in you."
* HandsOffParenting: Apparently Ash's mother was always too busy for him, and lets him run away when he was 10 years old.
* HollywoodExorcism: Parodied when Ash and Brock hire a "pokepriest" to exorcise a Ghastly out of Misty.
* InformedAttribute: While Misty is dating Gary Oak, she claims that he is caring and romantic. The only time we ever see him, he is just as much of a jerk as on the original show.
* KnightOfCerebus: Cassidy and Butch are played frighteningly straight in their introduction; the former pulling a gun on a trainer, while the latter who's mannerisms are similar to Alex from Film/AClockworkOrange. Until Ash comes in.
* ManChild: Ash is a 10-year-old trapped in the body of an 18-year-old.
* Mon: Naturally. Though the series focuses on the human characters way more than the pokemon. Likely due to low budget.
* MotorMouth: Ash isn't quite as bad as some, but he does talk a lot, especially when he starts listing things. Misty becomes concerned with him when he hasn't talked for hours, saying that he usually can't stop for more than five minutes.
* ObliviousToLove: Ash has serious trouble catching on to Misty's advances. The fact that he doesn't know what sex is doesn't help.
* OneThingLedToAnother: Misty gets charmed by a man at a bar, who claims that she was the reason he got into Pokemon. They end up sleeping together offscreen. He disappeared the next day.
* PregnancyScare: Misty has one of these after hooking up with someone she met at a bar.
* ScaryBlackMan: Rocket Grunt "Snorlax"
* TheDon: Giovanni
* TheRival: Gary Oak to Ash. Made worse when he starts dating Misty.
* UnholyMatrimony: Apparently Jesse and James are married. James wanted to steal pikachu to rekindle a spark in their relationship.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Ash. Nearly every problem the group faces is his own fault. Whenenver he is given good advice, he completely ignores it. He is also a complete idiot.
