The theme and setting is basically a CircusOfFear with animals. The basic guidelines for entry were that all characters had to be non-human, although there was never clear definition of [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman what was too human]], considering the vast number of anthromorphs strutting around. The characters are fighting for a chance to become apprentice to the Ringmaster, Elly, and in the process risk life and limb (but mostly life).

7	Although most Original Character Tournaments operate on either a 16, 32, or 64 competitor bracket system, Tapestry of Horror managed to fit in 36 competitors by adding a Danger Zone. The Danger Zone competitors fought an extra Lightning Round before Round 2 started.
