A Flash series created by David C. Lovelace, hosted on Platform/{{Newgrounds}}. Started out as a single short with the titular babies trying to teach the alphabet (similar to a ''Series/SesameStreet'' spot, if the ''Sesame Street'' writers [[ThisIsYourPremiseOnDrugs all did crack]]), and veered off into a series with the characters as actual characters, with actual storylines and dialog and stuff... sort of.

!!Provides examples of:
* AffablyEvil: Even though Satan makes multiple appearances in the series, he's known for being somewhat affectionate along with violent and anarchistic.
* TheAlcoholic / AbusiveParents: Cat's stepdad.
* AlcoholInducedIdiocy: Happens on numerous occasions.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: In the first episode:
-->'''Hamster:''' A is for... Ass!
-->'''Puppy:''' B is for Balls!
-->'''Bunny:''' C is for Clamhat!
** [[SubvertedTrope And then he gets his hand bitten off by the clam.]]
* ArtifactTitle: The Retarded Animal Babies haven't actually been babies since the first episode.
* {{BFG}}: Puppy's solution to his marital difficulties.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: Discussed, not in an episode, but on Dave's Newgrounds creator page. The word 'retarded' has, in the 15 years since the series was created, gone from being generally perceived as a meaner version of 'dumbass' to bigoted, and Dave admitted he was no longer comfortable using it. He was ''equally'' uncomfortable with the whole idea of Bowdlerization, though, feeling that censoring or removing various works that have become more offensive than they were at the time they were created is a bad thing. This was the major contributing factor in his decision to stop producing RAB episodes.
* BreadEggsMilkSquick: For the Show and Tell, Donkey brought three potaters, a bucket full of pelicans and Satan (who brought a snow globe).
* BrickJoke: Episode 18 has Puppy (albeit unintentionally) pissing in Cat's face, something he said he would "try again later" in episode 3.
* CallBack: In Episdoe 20, Puppy calls Donkey "Cap'n Pants", which was the latter's Superhero persona from episode 4.
* CelebCrush: Hamster is obsessed with Creator/BruceWillis in all the ways. Including ''that'' way.
* CerebusRetcon: Bunny's repeated deaths were actually his attempts to escape the universe.
* ClamTrap: The first episode has Bunny get his hand ripped clean off by a belligerent clam.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Hamster and Donkey.
* {{Cyberspace}}/DownTheRabbitHole: The characters get sucked into the Internet in episode 10. Everyone is dressed like the Programs in ''Film/{{Tron}}''.
* TheChewToy: Bunny usually gets killed or at least seriously injured.
* DeathByChildbirth: Puppy's mother, and [[FreakOut he did not take it well]] when this particular memory resurfaced.
* TheDitz: Donkey is the least intelligent of the bunch, and that's saying a lot.
* TheDevilIsALoser: Satan doesn't do anything particularly evil, he's terrified of doom, and in one episode Bunny kills him. He's not even very good at playing hackey-sack.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first two episodes don't have a plot, and Hamster is the main character instead of Cat. In the first one, Puppy wasn't in the part with the naked chick.
* EasterEgg: The episode titles are all clickable.
* EldritchAbomination: Bunny.
* ExtremeOmnisexual: Puppy is, if allegedly straight, willing to screw just about anyone and anything, up to and including [[ScrewYourself himself]] and a computer's floppy drive.

* EyeScream: Bunny gets his eyes pecked out by a Thanksgiving turkey who doesn't want to be cooked. He dies almost immediately. Donkey invents a game where the goal is to catch thumbtacks on your bare eyes. He runs around in hysterical pain for a few second and in the next scene he's fine.
* FamousAncestor: It's revealed that Puppy is Creator/SeanConnery's son.
* FormulaBreakingEpisode: Episode 4, which featured a TV remote control system to get to all sorts of extras.
* GeniusDitz: Donkey may be the most retarded of the retarded animal babies, but he's an ace at playing skee-ball.
* HenpeckedHusband: Puppy for a short time after getting married.
* InsaneTrollLogic: How Donkey proves Ghosts are real;
-->'''Donkey''': Now, is my poop real?
-->'''Cat''': Yes...Yes Donkey it is.
-->'''Donkey''': Is it scary?
-->'''Cat''': Quite scary.
-->'''Hamster''': It horrifies and ridicules me
-->'''Donkey''': Okiedokee! So, are ghosts scary?
-->'''Cat''': I don't get where you're-
-->'''Donkey''': Ha! Ghosts are scary like my poop! My poop is real, IG: Ghosts is real, Amen!
* IntentionallyAwkwardTitle: Try recommending ''this'' one to people by name.
* TheInternetIsForPorn:
-->'''Cat''': I don't know about any vaginas, but my stepdad just got a cable modem.\
'''Puppy''': It'll have to do.
* KissingCousins: Puppy eventually marries his own cousin.
* LighterAndSofter: The "Magic Animal Babies" short.
** The spin-off strip "Friendly Animal Babies" also counts.
* LiteralMinded: Double subverted when Hamster brings a wild stag film to Puppy's bachelor's party. The film starts as if it's a nature documentary about a literal wild stag. Then Puppy freaks out, and Hamster stops the movie a split second after the topless woman appears.
* MondegreenGag: In one episode the gang sings/lip synchs "Rammstein" by Rammstein with the lyrics mondegreened.
-->Rammstein\
I menched Brent\
Rammstein\
Flies stir rocks and I laughed\
Rammstein\
I'd flum in there
* NegativeContinuity: Justified. [[spoiler:They grew up, and they realized how screwed up their world really is. Cat, who became a MadScientist of sorts, took them to [[EldritchLocation a place outside normal time and space]] where they could spend all eternity blissfully ignorant and optimistic.]]
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Averted like a motherfucker. Creator/MattGroening appears in several episodes, one episode features Music/KurtCobain accidentally blowing his head off, in another Puppy facefucks Creator/SeanConnery while high out of his mind, and one episode features Lindsey Lohan having sex with Puppy and paying him for the privilege.
* NoMoreForMe: Donkey's reaction to seeing his future self.
* NumberOfTheBeast: In Episode 4, tapping 666 into the remote shows Satan eating children from a bowl. 999 gets you the same image upside-down.
* OverlyLongGag: The phone call at the end of episode 21.
* RuleOfFunny: A donkey can '''shit lightning'''!
* {{Satan}}: A recurring character.
* ScrewYourself: Puppy's totally unsurprising reaction to seeing ''his'' future self.
* ShoutOut: "Splunge" is a reference to a ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'' sketch.
* SingleTargetSexuality: Hamster is saving himself for Bruce Willis.
* SixIsNine: Episode 4 features a fake TV screen as a bonus feature. Selecting Channel 666 leads to a video of Satan eating children from a bowl. Channel 999 is the same thing upside down.
* StraightMan: Cat
* SubvertedKidsShow: The original short, and the hidden mini-episode in 4.
* SuddenAnatomy: Parodied. When Bunny can't punch a turkey with knucks because he doesn't have any fingers, Puppy takes a katana to his arm and cuts him some fingers. Played straight in a later episode where Bunny grows a middle finger from nowhere to flip someone off.
* TakeThatAudience: In the third episode, VideoGame/{{Pico}} (Newgrounds' mascot) is shown watching the cartoon (captioned in AOL-speak): "I watched this on Newgrounds, and I hated it. It rips off WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends. Blam this piece of shit!" (viewer then gets an anvil dropped on his head)
* TheyKilledKennyAgain: As noted above, Bunny dies in (almost) every episode. The others sometimes die too (and the whole universe was even destroyed a couple times).
** Bunny even turned into a giant CosmicHorror and attempted to end it all himself. His exact words, upon the "opening" of episode "21"(see the end of episode 20)? "Son of a bitch." "Kenny" was trying to stay dead, that time.
* ToiletHumour: Happens quite a bit, such as when the gang eat a pie (and, later, a huge cake) made of shit and Donkey shat out lighting when he was upset that he couldn't get into a county fair and get funnel cake.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Donkey ''loves'' fluffernutters.
* TronLines: The characters are depicted in Tron suits when they get sucked onto the Internet.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: Cat's openly homophobic, "queer"-bashing stepdad is gay. Cat's mom is actually a man in a wig. [[spoiler:His real father is ''Donkey''.]]
