1Part Time Job is ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' VisualNovel developed by [=Yumi-And-ZB=], also going by Samuel Kingsley. In it, you play as pegasus mare Pastel Sketch, who is going through financial issues due to her artwork not earning her enough money. Looking for a [[TitleDrop part time job]], she goes to the town bulletin board; among several choices she decides she wouldn't be good at, there's an ad for working at a hospital. Turns out it's a ''mental'' hospital, run by Fluttershy. Deciding she needs the rather large payment of thirty thousand bits, Pastel takes the job. [[CerebusSyndrome She'll wish she hadn't.]] [[Music/{{Vocaloid}} The game is based off of the song Wide Knowledge of the Late Madness.]]A sequel had been confirmed by WordOfGod, as well as a reboot for the original game, but the developer eventually lost interest in both of these and announced that neither project would be completed. The download links for the original game have been taken down, and the developer has requested that the game not be reuploaded or distributed. [[http://www.mediafire.com/file/7stk9rcxt02atkd/Mlp_Part_Time_Job.zip/file However, a Mediafire link to the game still exists.]]----!These tropes are ready to be released:* AndIMustScream: In Bad Ending 6, [[spoiler: Pastel is heavily implied to be unable to talk after Fluttershy's done with her and she's been sold to the circus]].* ArcWords: "Patient #[number] is scheduled to be released tomorrow."* AxCrazy: [[spoiler: Pastel in Bad End 1, where she murders a pony whose artwork receives more attention than hers and then proceeds to murder everypony that makes her jealous.]]* TheAtoner: [[spoiler: Pastel Sketch, after not being able to save Pinkie from the hospital in the end, plans to save her from the circus.]]** In an earlier example, Pinkie Pie wants to apologize and make up for [[spoiler: hurting Rainbow Dash]], the incident that put her in the hospital in the first place.* BewareTheNiceOnes: The villain turns out to be [[spoiler: Fluttershy, the Element of Kindness]].* BlatantLies: Every time Fluttershy says [[spoiler: a patient is fit for release]] or [[spoiler: they've been picked up]].* BodyHorror: [[spoiler: Lyra becomes a severed head in a jar. Twilight and Screw Loose are sewn together. Pinkie's back legs are replaced with reptile legs. Pastel has a fish tail and an extra leg sewn onto her in one ending.]]* CerebusSyndrome: A lighthearted game gets creepy rather quickly when Pastel begins hearing sounds at night. [[spoiler: And then even more so at the end of Day 5...]]* ChainsawGood: [[spoiler: Fluttershy uses a chainsaw to cut up the patients.]]* ChekhovsGun: [[spoiler: The knife Pastel uses to cut the bread and apples. It later becomes a makeshift lockpick...and then a weapon.]]* ContinuityNod: A few in relation to [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the actual show]]:** Twilight being insane is obviously a reference to ''Lesson Zero'', though apparently an alternate ending where Princess Celestia sends her to a mental hospital rather than lecturing her.** When Pinkie is sad, her name is Pinkamena Diane Pie. Her name changes to Pinkie Pie as she cheers up. Pinkamena is often what fans call her sad straight-haired form.** Big Macintosh [[spoiler: apparently having the mind of a dog while he works for Fluttershy under the name Pochie]] is a reference to [[spoiler: him acting like a dog in the season two premiere]].** Once again, Pinkie Pie ends her cutie mark story with "And that's how Equestria was made!"* EasterEgg: Inputting the konami code at any point in the game will play a special version of the game with Gizoogle slang, and inputting 'WIDEKNOWLEDGE' will play a ponified version of the music video for the song this game is based on.* EyeScream: [[spoiler: Pastel, trying to escape from Fluttershy, slices her eyes. We later get to ''see them bleeding''.]]* {{Foreshadowing}}: The ads on the bulletin board. They all imply that Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Lyra have disappeared, and Rainbow Dash has been injured. The first three end up being patients in the mental hospital; [[spoiler: the last one is the reason Pinkie's there.]]** Twilight and Screw Loose, for whatever reason, share a room. [[spoiler: They end up sharing a ''body'' by the time Fluttershy's done with them...]]** The rehab room is the only room with a door with the window blacked out; even the "DO NOT ENTER" door has a clear window aside from the writing on it. [[spoiler: Of course Fluttershy wouldn't want you to peek in and see the setup in there...]]*** Every time [[spoiler: Fluttershy says not to enter the rehab room]] counts as well.** Fluttershy says that the "DO NOT ENTER" door leads deeper into the facility and it's easy to get lost in. Naturally, you end up in there later, and there's a ''lot'' of hallways [[spoiler: [[TimedMission and only so much time to choose which ones to take]]]].* FourIsDeath: Four patients. [[spoiler: Subverted in that it's not clear if any of ''them'' die, but...well, there's a lot of corpses around.]]** [[spoiler: Lyra, being patient #4, is the first we see being "released" and taken to rehab. And also the most likely to actually be dead.]]* GameplayAndStorySegregation: No matter how fast you are delivering the food to the patients, it takes all day. You wake up early in the morning, and by the time you're done, it's nighttime, even though progressing through at an ''average'' pace would probably take only about an hour in the actual game, ''tops''. Justified sometimes, as there are some "fade out, fade in" parts where characters are telling stories, so the stories likely last a while.* GreenEyedMonster: [[spoiler: Bad End 1 shows that Pastel has a problem with jealousy...]]* HeroicBSOD: Pinkie is in one when she's first admitted. [[spoiler: She starts snapping out of it when Pastel gets her to talk about baking.]]* [[ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne I'm Weirded Out By That Last One]]: When Fluttershy gives Pastel the food to bring to the patients, among them is a ''t-bone steak''. Pastel is not confused or grossed out or scared at ''all'', except when Fluttershy says that Patient #2 (Screw Loose) likes her steak raw, to which she asks if that's healthy. Either eating meat is more common in Equestria than we thought, or Pastel needs to pay better attention.* JumpScare: Upon first entering Lyra's room, due to the sudden sound effect. [[MoodWhiplash This changes quickly.]]** [[spoiler: Another one near the end of the good ending. "YOU PINKIE PROMISED!"]]* [[spoiler: KillTheCutie: Well, it's not clear if they've died, but the four patients are at least subjected to BodyHorror when taken in for "rehab". Lyra, who's probably the happiest and least insane of the bunch, ends up becoming a severed head in a jar, making her the most likely to actually be dead.]]* MoodWhiplash: When you enter Lyra's room, you're greeted with a scary sound effect and crude sketches of humans, hands, and feet. Lyra then appears and is actually rather cheerful and pleasant.* MultipleEndings:** Bad End 1: [[spoiler: Instead of looking for a job, Pastel decides to show her artwork in town, but her work is passed over for that of another pony's. Pastel gets wildly jealous and ends up killing that pony, and then graduates to killing any pony who makes her jealous.]]** Bad End 2: [[spoiler: After seeing that the hospital is in fact a mental hospital, Pastel decides not to take the job, but no other job that catches her eye shows up on the ad board, and she spends all her time alone and broke.]]** Bad End 3: [[spoiler: Pastel messes up her interview and doesn't get the hospital job.]]** Bad End 4: [[spoiler: Fluttershy catches up to Pastel in the hospital chase scene and kills her with a chainsaw.]]** Bad End 5: [[spoiler: Pastel hits a dead end in the hospital chase scene and is cornered and eaten by Pochi.]]** Bad End 6: [[spoiler: Pastel hits a dead end in the hospital chase scene and is cornered by Fluttershy, who turns her into a strange creature and sells her to the circus.]]** True Ending: [[spoiler: Pastel escapes the hospital and gets Berry Punch to contact the authorities, but by the time they get back to the hospital, Fluttershy and the other patients have disappeared without a trace. Pastel starts having recurring dreams about Pinkie Pie, and later she sees an ad for Darkwoods Circus on the ad board. Realizing that this is the circus Fluttershy was selling patients to, she vows to rescue Pinkie and the others.]]* NiceHat: Pastel wears an out-of-place hat that looks like a white do-rag with bunny ears.* NonstandardGameOver: You can get a game over in ''the first choice menu''. You also get a game over if you don't do well at the interview and don't get hired, or if you just decide not to take the job.* OldShame: the entire game seems to be one for it's creator. A while after publishing it, they deleted their account and cancelled the sequel and remake.* PrecisionFStrike / ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: In a game with no foul language otherwise, it's surprising to see [[spoiler: Pastel call Fluttershy a "crazy bitch" before slashing her eyes]]. Or maybe not ''too'' surprising given the situation.* RedHerring: Fluttershy mentions that the patient room doors lock from the outside, but there's a trick to opening them from the inside that she teaches Pastel. This never gets used.** Anyone familiar with ''FanFic/{{Cupcakes}}'' will be keeping a ''very'' careful eye on Pinkie. [[spoiler: It's Fluttershy they should worry about.]]* RunningGag: A few.** Pastel visiting Twilight, who keeps asking if she's seen Princess Celestia and asking her to tell Celestia something if she ''does'' see her.** Pastel doing the same routine of eating and showering before going to bed each night. The fact that all she has to eat are apples and bread causes this to become a drag for her.** Whenever a pony gets released, Pastel then has to tell the other patients why the pony is gone while bringing them their food.* SanitySlippage: Pastel thinks she's suffering this from hallucinations when she hears noises at night. [[spoiler: She's not.]]* SequelHook: The game ends with [[spoiler: Pastel learning of the Dark Woods Circus and vowing to go rescue Pinkie Pie from it]]. Unfortunately, this sequel never came to fruition.* ShoutOut: Pastel remarks that, while showering, she's going to think about [[Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy life, the universe, and everything]]. The next day, she says she'll think about 42.** Pinkie [[spoiler: is in the hospital because [[FanFic/{{Cupcakes}} she stabbed Rainbow Dash]]]].** As mentioned above, the entire game is a reference to the vocaloid song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGMO1ko5EuM Wide Knowledge of the Late Madness]]. More specific references include the Rehab Room being referred to as the 'Flower Garden Room' by Pinkamena, [[spoiler: Big Mac being referred to as Pochi, a bad ending where he kills you called 'Pochi Eats So Much', the circus the patients are being sent to called the Dark Forest Circus,]] an entire music video EasterEgg, and the design of the main hallway.* TimedMission: When you're [[spoiler: running from Fluttershy]], you have a time limit of ten seconds on each menu. Fortunately, it resets after every choice you make, so it's not ''that'' stressful.* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Pastel's NiceHat, which looks like part of a rabbit costume, is never remarked on.** Pastel has no reaction to a t-bone steak being one of the meals for one of the mental patients. [[ComicallyMissingThePoint It being raw, on the other hand...]]** How does nopony in town think something's up when one Element of Harmony opens an insane asylum, two other Elements are taken to said asylum, along with countless other ponies, and none of them ever return?* VillainsNeverLie: Zig-zagged. [[spoiler: As seen under BlatantLies above, Fluttershy lies frequently in similar circumstances. However, it turns out that the "DO NOT ENTER" door...actually ''does'' just lead deeper into the facility and is easy to get lost in.]]* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: Fluttershy was trying to keep the mental hospital open to help insane ponies. But in order to do that, she resorted to taking the patients supposed to be "released", getting creative with her chainsaw, and selling them to a circus.]]* YouAreNumberSix: Fluttershy usually refers to the patients as "Patient #[number]" rather than their names, even when said patients include two of her best friends. Pastel at one point tries to correct Fluttershy and use the patient's real name, but she gets ignored.----
