''Franchise/StarTrek Pinball'' is a DigitalPinballTable developed by SCI (Sales Curve Interactive) Ltd. It was released in 1997 by Creator/InterplayEntertainment for the UsefulNotes/IBMPersonalComputer.

As the title indicates, this title consists of three original pinball tables associated with ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries'', accompanied by sounds and images from the show:

* "To Boldly Go": The player is James T. Kirk, who must prove his worth as a Starfleet Captain while an assortment of love interests watch on.
* "Qapla'": Named after the Klingon word for "success", the player is a Klingon warrior being tested at pinball.
* "Nemesis": In an echo of the Federation-Klingon conflict, this game mirrors the playfield lengthwise and pits two players against each other.

It is rumored that the game was a rushed cash grab by Interplay, an attempt to raise money due to problems during development of ''Star Trek: The Secret of Vulcan's Fury''. Unfortunately, every aspect of ''Star Trek Pinball'' reinforces this point, making this a classic example of TheProblemWithLicensedGames. The ''Trek'' license fails to cover the game's numerous shortcomings -- unbalanced gameplay, inconsistent and unrealistic ball behavior, and poorly-designed tables that are overly complicated and frustrating. Like the ''VideoGame/ProPinball'' series, the game uses pre-rendered playfield graphics, but there is only one camera angle, and the graphics are pixelated and grainy. Then there are the VideoGame-only features, such as smashing a slow-moving ball for extra points, and an assortment of game-crashing bugs.

Aside from the novelty of head-to-head competition in "Nemesis", this is an entirely forgettable title.

----
!!''Star Trek Pinball'' demonstrates the following tropes:

%%* BeardOfEvil: The Klingons in "Qapla'" each have one.
%%* BoldExplorer: "To Boldly Go" is supposedly about this.
* BoldlyComing: Heavily suggested by "To Boldly Go", with the playfield dominated by a leering James Kirk and a half-dozen wary women.
%%* CompetitiveMultiplayer[=/=]PlayerVersusPlayer: In "Nemesis".
%%* FixedCamera
* ForeignLanguageTitle: "Qapla'", the second table, is named after the Klingon word for "success".
%%* GuideDangIt: Good luck understanding the rules without one.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: "Qapla'" is filled with Klingon voice clips.
%%* LicensedGame: Unfortunately.
* MirrorMatch: Done literally in "Nemesis", which mirrors the two halves of the playfield left-to-right.
