''One Final Scream'' is an UsefulNotes/RPGMaker 2000 game created around Fall 2005. The game's development began with the simple question, [[{{Deconstruction}} "Why does the average hero CARE?"]] it soon spiraled out of control into having a somewhat convoluted, yet enjoyable, plot. Nonetheless, it is at the very least, a good game, though the beginning parts are plagued by some typos and bad design. For the curious and bored, (it has surprising length for an RPG Maker game), the link is [[http://kamboard.kamain.com/ofs.zip here]].

!!''One Final Scream'' is an example of the following tropes:

* AffectionateParody: Becomes more serious later, but manages to keep a... unique sense of humor.
* AfterBossRecovery: Combine with SuspiciousVideoGameGenerosity, SequentialBoss and ThatOneBoss for great effect.
%%* AllMenArePerverts: Played straight.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Kabir and Jack take the reins of leader when Zid goes AWOL.
%%* AntiHero: The main character, Zid.
%%* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: Played straight.
%%* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Played straight with [[spoiler:Alex and Sardis.]]
* BadFuture: [[spoiler:What the heroes learn is the source of the demonic invasion. Doubles as a slightly {{Anvilicious}} GreenAesop.]]
%%* BreakingTheFourthWall: Happens many, many, many, many times.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Stan, the humble Help Man, who {{Lampshade|Hanging}}s his tutorial speeches occasionally, is actually [[spoiler:[[AntiVillain Roy]]]].
%%* CutAndPasteEnvironments
* DarkWorld: What the enemy's world appears to be, until TheReveal.
%%* DialogueTree
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler: [[GadgeteerGenius Kabir]] is cut down by the BigBad, [[WrenchWench Hilda]] [[BackFromTheDead may or may not be alive]], [[NobleDemon Maria]] is DrivenToSuicide over the guilt of (indirectly) killing Hilda, Zid becomes TheDragon, and Jen's been dead for over half the game.]] Notably averted by [[spoiler:Fele'duf returning to a life of drunken revelry, Jack/Sonja getting married and closing the time portals, Petra becoming a CrystalDragonJesus, and, if she's alive, Hilda and Maria bonding over their tales of their mutually dead boyfriend]].
* EvilPaysBetter: Played straight with Sardis, after all [[spoiler:his cousin is God, and can make him infinite sex slaves/sandwich makers.]]
* FutureMeScaresMe: [[spoiler:TheDragon is actually the main character sent forward in time and subjected to MoreThanMindControl.]]
* GameBreakingBug: Cannot divide by bad checksum. *game crashes*
%%* GadgeteerGenius: Kabir and Hilda.
* GuideDangIt: Have fun getting that MK-II Tank by happening upon the one tile of overworld map that leads to the entrance of the cave it's in, something that isn't even vaguely hinted at by the game! [[spoiler:Even then, if Hilda is dead and you don't have a certain near-endgame item, the game becomes {{Unwinnable}}.]]
* GunsAreWorthless: Completely averted--the two characters that can use guns border on {{Game Breaker}}s.
* HandWave: Happens several times regarding TimeTravel and the cast's abilities.
* HelpYourselfInTheFuture: Played with, as [[spoiler:Zid must oppose TheDragon and stay alive, or else a TimeParadox will occur. This puts said Dragon in a bit of a bind, and {{justifie|dTrope}}s the liberal sprinkling of WhyDontYouJustShootHim]]
* HeroicBSOD: Zid after [[spoiler: MercyKilling his girlfriend]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Roy uses drumsticks and Jew-Jew the Crimefighting Chicken uses SPIKED KNUCKLES. A chicken.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Most of the protagonists.
* JokeItem: A literal "Glitch" item, used for a FetchQuest. At low levels, the same item can be used in combat for a LethalJokeItem.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Interestingly, very few swords for the ninja are actually katanas.
%%* LazyBackup: Played straight.
%%* LetsSplitUpGang: Played straight at several points.
* LuckStat: The elusive critical hit chance stat.
%%* MoreThanMindControl: TheCorruption often results in this, because EvilFeelsGood.
* NeverTheSelvesShallMeet: Thoroughly, thoroughly averted. [[spoiler:The selves meet numerous times, sometimes without realizing it.]]
* NintendoHard: As seen in a short LetsPlay here [[http://s6.zetaboards.com/kamainsworld/topic/397012/3/]]--on The Jassi-Fricka-Nation's posts.
%%* NonstandardGameOver: Several.
* OneOfTheseDoorsIsNotLikeTheOther: Played with in The Evil Temple. Five identical ladders lead to the next floor. FOUR OF THEM WILL KILL YOU.
* PointOfNoReturn: Mostly averted with the heroes' eventual ability to move through space and time, but some locations can never be returned to.
* ScrewDestiny: The rallying cry of the protagonists, after TheReveal that GodIsEvil.
* {{Secret Character}}s: [[AntiVillain Roy]], martial artist Herbert, Jew-Jew the Crimefighting Chicken and the MK-II Tank.
* {{Sidequest}}: Quite a few, notably the [[spoiler:Revive Hilda quest, Glitch collection quest, Save Roy quest, Kabir's Trials, and the {{Optional Boss}}es]].
%%* ShoutOut: ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfDragoon'', ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'', and ''RealityBreakdown'' to name a few.
%%* StableTimeLoop: The goal of the villains.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Dark Maria.
%%* {{Troperiffic}}
%%* UnexpectedGameplayChange: The airship minigame.
%%* WalletOfHolding
%%* YouCantFightFate
