''[[https://rpgmaker.net/games/5854/ Luxaren Allure]]'' is a 2015 EasternRPG by Creator/UnityRPG. It is a medium-sized {{Yuri}} RPG (12-20 hours) with an all-female playable cast. The game uses [[UsefulNotes/RPGMaker RPG Maker VX Ace]] as its engine.

The game takes place in the titular isles of Luxaren. Karuna and her best friend Aurelie were students at the School of the Unwavering Blade. One day, when a boy from the village went missing in the sinister Castle Darkloft, the duo set out to find him and bring him back to his mother. But the mission went awry when, after finding the Infernal Armor of Ellicide, Aurelie vanishes, leaving Karuna to desperately look for her to no avail. Hopeless, she eventually gave up.

Two years later, Aurelie has finally returned- as [[BigBad Evil Overlord Darkloft]], who has become corrupted by the Infernal Armor and now leads a legion of monsters in trying to destroy humanity and TakeOverTheWorld. Karuna becomes TheChosenOne, the Hero who must gather the three artifacts and defeat Darkloft. Joined by fellow student and squire Chisa, the [[SnakePeople Naga]] mage Merel, and the holy knight Lynette, Karuna ventures throughout Luxaren to complete her mission and save humanity. But the monsters and demons are not Karuna's only challenge- having realized her love for Aurelie, she is hesitant to fulfill her destiny to destroy the one she loves. Can she save Aurelie? Or will she have no choice but to kill her?

Unity announced the development of ''Izrand Allure'', an RPG in the same setting as ''Luxaren Allure''.

Compare to ''VideoGame/CorruptionOfLaetitia'', another Yuri RPG starring four women on a quest to defeat an EvilOverlord.

----
!!This game provides examples of:
* ActuallyFourMooks: The PreexistingEncounters can have up to five enemies in one encounter, and some are larger than the protagonists, but fit into the same size sprites as them.
* AdamSmithHatesYourGuts: The further away from the starting town of Erdengard you go, the more the inns cost. The Naga Castle has free resting, the combination inn and store on a side path off the Pehl Mountain Path has the inn cost 30 Vei, the Parvian Inn costs 50 Vei, the Springsmouth one costs 100 Vei and the Hotenshin one costs 150 Vei... [[spoiler:This gets truly ridiculous in the final dungeon, where Uiroq the Mammonite charges about 12500 Vei to fully restore the party.]]
* AllForNothing: Subverted with Lynette's one-time use holy attack. [[spoiler:At first, it looks like she wasted it by using it on the party after they save Aurelie. However, this causes her spear to be permanently upgraded into a holy weapon, meaning her premature usage of the artifact can still be put to good use.]]
* AllInARow:
** The main party: Karuna leads the row, followed by Chisa, then Merle.
** In the Prologue, Aurelie is leading, followed by Karuna.
* AlwaysAccurateAttack:
** Spells are always accurate, unlike most physical attacks.
** All of Aurelie's physical impulse skills have perfect accuracy, though this is balanced out by their [[CastFromHitPoints HP cost]].
* AmbiguouslyRelated: [[spoiler:Darkloft's final form shows she]] has blonde hair like [[spoiler:Aurelie, despite not possessing her anymore]]. The developer states that this is an implication that she has blood relations with [[spoiler:Aurelie, whose family has innate infernal powers]].
* AnimateInanimateObject: Multiple:
** Mobile Graves (Tombstones on six insectoid legs)
** Quietus Clocks (Floating giant PerpetualSmiler clocks with [[ScaryTeeth pointed teeth]] and [[ChainedByFashion a small bit of chain]] on each of their arms.)
** Disco Infernoes (Giant floating flaming disco balls.)
** [[spoiler:The infernal armor of Ellicide also communicates to Aurelie due to containing Darkloft's soul. After Karuna frees Aurelie from the armor, Darkloft continues [[AnimatedArmor moving through the armor]], due to gaining enough power from Aothuth.]]
* BadBoss: Darkloft is said by Therona to be verbally abusive to her subordinates.
-->'''Therona:''' (''imitating Darkloft'') “Why didn’t you kill the Hero? If you don't get stronger, I'll just throw you out!” “I don't care if you want time off, go do this pile of crap that probably doesn't matter because I'm in a bad mood!”\
'''Eelinoth:''' (''also imitating Darkloft'') “No, you're not allowed to give the humans cake before you play with them.”\
'''Therona:''' That one was reasonable, though.\
'''Eelinoth:''' Nuh-uh.\
'''Therona:''' [[SuddenlyShouting THE POINT IS]], now [[spoiler:we're dead, and Darkloft got kicked out of you]], so for ONCE in our crappy lives, we actually get a freaking CHOICE.\
'''Eelinoth:''' And [[spoiler:[[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal we choose you]]]].
* BigBad: Aurelie/[[EvilOverLord Evil Overlord Darkloft]], Karuna's LoveInterest who was corrupted by the Infernal Armor of Ellicide, is the one trying to conquer the world/destroy humanity by summoning endless waves of monsters. [[spoiler:Except Darkloft is actually a spirit who is [[DemonicPossession possessing]] Aurelie for her own purposes of unleashing the [[GreaterScopeVillain Demon Lords]] on the world.]]
* BlobMonster: There are various recolors of the Villain Slime enemy and there's also a Heal Potion Blob that heals both enemies and allies upon death.
* BrokenBridge: Multiple and literal:
** The bridge leading from Erdengard to Castle Darkloft gets destroyed by the BigBad after the prologue. Even when the party gets to the other side at the end of the game, the bridge still isn't fixed.
** Later, the Ichor Bridge, leading from Parvian to Springsmouth, gets destroyed in a monster attack. Karuna [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] it:
--->'''Karuna:''' Another bridge in ruins. I wonder if Aurelie has a thing against bridges or something.
* CardiovascularLove: A HeartSymbol connected to love, occurs with The True Love Chocolate, stored in a heart-shaped box and:
--> Said to be made by the goddess of Love, this delicacy restores all HP and MP to the party, out of battle.
* CastFromHitPoints: Aurelie's infernal elemental skills cost a percentage of her HP, though she can inflict a HP draining ailment on an enemy to slightly compensate for the cost of her skills.
* CastFullOfGay: Chisa and Merel form a romance, Chisa was pining after Karuna before Merel came along, and Karuna is in love with Aurelie. That connects four out of the five main characters.
* CharacterLevel: You defeat monsters to gain ExperiencePoints to level up to increase your stats and get new skills.
* ChocolateOfRomance: The True Love Chocolate, stored in a heart-shaped box, whose FlavorText says:
--> Said to be made by the goddess of Love, this delicacy restores all HP and MP to the party, out of battle.
* ChromosomeCasting: Evil Overlord Darkloft and the five playable characters are female.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Subverted with Aurelie. While she mainly has infernal elemental attacks, she also has a skill to debuff the enemy's resistance to infernal, meaning she can deal effective damage even to other infernal-aligned characters.
* DecoyProtagonist: Aurelie starts out as the party lead, but after the events at Darkloft Castle, she gets possessed by Darkloft and Karuna becomes the protagonist instead.
* DefendCommand: Called Guard here. It also increases Impulse.
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:Darkloft (aka the Infernal Armor of Ellicide) takes control of her wearer, Aurelie.]]
* DragonsAreDivine: The people of Parvian worship dragons, or as they call them, the Ageless.
* DualBoss: Happens to Karuna and co. in [[spoiler: the Love Labyrinth after getting through some monsters, both Therona and Eelinoth challenge them to a showdown.]]
* DuelBoss:
** All party members [[spoiler:except Aurelie who joins far later]] end up being attacked by evil dream spirits in one-on-one duels. After they deal enough damage to the spirits, the spirits scan them and flee.
** Karuna has to duel the three angels inside of the Luxaren Legacy dungeon in order to get permanent stat boosts.
* {{Egopolis}}: King Erdengard's the king of Erdengard.
* ElementalAbsorption: In an bugfix patch on [[https://rpgmaker.net/games/5854/?post=898950#post898950 Dec 29 2019]], Force Ghosts lost the ability to do it with Physical damage due to interactions with Chisa's HP drain skills, that cause a crash.
* ElementalPowers: Karuna can use Wind and Holy spells, Merel can use Fire, Ice, Bolt, Nature and Infernal spells/skills, and Lynette can use Water and Earth spells.
* EntitledBastard: Both King Erdengard and King Hotenshin are this to a ridiculous degree. King Erdengard's first order upon [[spoiler: Darkloft returning to the Luxaren isles?]] [[SuicidalOverconfidence Gather most of his soldiers in a half-assed attempt to topple the now-active Castle Darkloft.]] It pretty much [[CurbStompBattle ends up the way you expect it to.]] And King Hotenshin happily thinks that their [[TemptingFate little monster-warding spheres are enough to repel Darkloft's entire monster army.]] Like King Erdengard, he sorely underestimates his foe and [[spoiler: [[CoDragons Therona and Eelinoth]] manages to sneak in disguised as [[HidingInPlainSight painfully-obvious non-human "humans"]], completely [[NoSell bypassing the monster-warding spheres completely without issue.]]]] While also [[SkewedPriorities completely ignoring Karuna's urgency to gather the last artifact needed to stop Darkloft]] in lieu of his little "Love Festival". The only truly [[TheGoodKing worthy King notable of having any actual respect]] is King Parvian, as he demonstrates a much more direct approach to readily assist Karuna in her quest, unlike the two other layabout kings...
* ExperiencePoints: Defeating monsters gives experience points.
* EyeScream: Greater Evils can use an attack called "Eye Gorge".
* FantasticRacism: Humans and Naga have been at each other ever since an incident in the past where [[spoiler:the archeologist Heather [[CassandraTruth truthfully]] claimed that the original Naga ancestors were once human but became Naga through a ritual, something which the Naga descendants took offense to]]. This is shown in multiple interactions:
** A human in the prologue calls the Naga "slithering miscreants".
** The Innkeeper of the Naga Castle semi-jokingly sets the price for a rest at 10,000 Vei, when even though AdamSmithHatesYourGuts is in effect, the most an inn that you can actually use charges is 150 Vei.
* FantasyPantheon:
** There's the Ageless worshiped by the Parvians, who appear to be dragons.
** The goddess of love referenced in the FlavorText of "True Love Chocolate".
** The divine beings referenced in the FlavorText of "Angelic Potable".
** The sleeping God of Benevolence and the Rezael angel mentioned by someone in Parvian's Three Angels section
** The Angels of Wisdom, Power, and Courage, which make up the Three Angels.
** There's also some Divine Forest sect with the priestesses that do the blessings to make "Purity Water", as said in its FlavorText.
* FictionalCurrency: Vei is the name of the currency used in the game's world.
* FightingFromTheInside: [[spoiler:After Karuna confesses to Aurelie in the Temple of the Ageless, the latter tries to resist Darkloft's control.]]
* FlavorText: For most items, such as:
** True Love Chocolate:
---> "Said to be made by the goddess of Love, this delicacy restores all HP and MP to the party, out of battle.".
** Egg of the King:
---> "Alchemy ingredient. A strange item indeed, given that kings usually don't lay eggs."
** Lucky Serum:
---> "The bottled essence of a jester".
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Lynette's [[ItOnlyWorksOnce one-use artifact "Holy Dominance"]] has a description like so:
-->Sacred move that can only be used once, ever. Lynette is saving it for her greatest foe.
** One can guess that she's reserved it to use against Darkloft[[spoiler:, right...?]] [[spoiler:'''WRONG!''' She saves it to use against Karuna AKA '''YOU''' when she ambushes Karuna n' friends and fights them after Karuna rids Aurelie of Elicide's [[AnimatedArmor now-animated armor]] and said artifact not only shaves off half of ALL of your party member's health RIGHT at the start of the battle, but also brings two irritating Holy Automatons that fights alongside her whilst you still haven't prepped up Aurelie equipment-wise, leaving what you thought was a friendly meet-up into a '''[[ThatOneBoss VERY ANNOYING surprise boss fight]]''' against Lynette and her two little "assistants". Have fun dealing with them and Lynette's occasional [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard double-action-laced]] [[AreaOfEffect pain]].]]
* GradualRegeneration: Multiple methods:
** Chisa's 'Pearl Breeze' Impulse Skill gives health regeneration.
** The Angelic Ring grants health regeneration to the character that has it equipped.
** Some skills can apply buffs that regenerate MP or Impulse.
* HealingPotion: The shops sell the most basic HP Berries, but the more advanced HP Drinks and HP Potions have to be made through alchemy.
* HughMann: In Hotenshin, two obviously non-human [=NPCs=] (who are actually [[spoiler:[[CoDragons Eelinoth and Therona]]]]) attempt to pass as human for the Love Festival:
-->'''Elly:''' Golly gosh, I sure do enjoy these human festivals of love. Aren't you exited about this extraneous emotion, fellow human?
-->'''Thelma:''' I am so glad I was born a human. If I were a monster with cool wings who could fly all over and rain destruction from above, screaming war cries that would curdle the blood of even the mightiest human warriors... well, that would just be too awesome for my inferior human brain to comprehend! Yes, it is very good indeed to be a human. Like I am. Human.
* ImpossibleItemDrop: Multiple:
** Monsters like the flaming disco balls known as Disco Infernoes, drop bottles of Liquid Impulse.
** {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d with the Egg of the King:
--> "Alchemy ingredient. A strange item indeed, given that kings usually don't lay eggs."
* ImTakingHerHomeWithMe: Elly, after beating up a bunch of humans at [[spoiler:the Love Labyrinth]], expresses her desire to take them home and play with them.
-->'''Thelma:''' Elly, our targets are in front of us! Let's just slaughter them all and burn this obnoxious little place to the ground!\
'''Elly:''' But if we win, then I can ask that king for some humans to take back to Castle Darkloft. I can dress them up and give them treats and we can have parties and play all sorts of fun games... It'll be ever so wonderful.\
'''Thelma:''' [[WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged That's stupid! You're stupid!]]\
'''Elly:''' You can't say you've never wanted to put a human in a ballgown and play spin the bottle.
* InsubstantialIngredients: There's the [[RareCandy Lucky Serum]] for Luck, whose FlavorText describes it as:
--> "The bottled essence of a jester".
* ItemCrafting: Alchemy shops can be used to turn ingredients into equipment, consumables, and special key items.
* LifeMeter: HP is depicted with a green bar that depletes from right to left.
* LimitBreak: Impulse. It charges when damage is taken, and when Guarding. Loses 20% when battle finishes. Some Limit Breaks use both Mana and Impulse.
* LoveTriangle: {{Discussed|Trope}} by an NPC in Hotenshin.
-->Ugh, I was really liking this story, but now there's this love triangle going on. Don’t you just hate that? It always ends with someone left out and lonely. Nobody ever writes it so that [[MarryThemAll all three get together]]. I’d love to see that sometime. Love for all!
* MacGuffin: Lampshaded. The king of Erdengard has Karuna retrieve a ring from the Naga Queen in exchange for another MacGuffin just to give her a quest, as it is said in prophecy that TheChosenOne must prove themselves. And while the king of Parvian would like to just give his MacGuffin, he can't as it is locked inside a temple.
* ManaMeter: MP is depicted with blue bars that deplete from right to left.
* ManaPotion: Magic Liquids. Unfortunately, these items aren't sold in early game shops and have to be alchemized.
* MeaningfulName: One of the guards of Erdengard is named Garrison, a type of defended fortification.
* MindRape: Moirelech and his four Nightmares have the power to do this by creating Nightmares and tormenting people through them. [[BigBad Darkloft]] sends them to create nightmares based on the heroines’ past turmoils to demoralize them.
* MineralMacGuffin:
** What the Naga Queen wants in exchange for the ring.
** The Gem of Hope is one of three items needed to beat Darkloft.
* MoneySpider: Played straight. Somehow, monsters drop Vei when you defeat them.
* MushroomMan: Shroom Bladesters.
* NoticeThis: Containers with items in them have a targeting-reticule-esque yellow design over them.
* OneWingedAngel: Mockingly referenced when Karuna tries to break up an argument between [[CoDragons Eelinoth and Therona]]:
-->Okay, okay, break it up. Just skip to “Behold my true form,” alright? You can argue about this after we defeat you.
* OptionalBoss:
** The boss of Rahcreon Crypt, Vermin King, isn't mandatory, but it does guard a Crystallized hope.
** The three angels of the Luxaren Legacy area can be skipped, but winning against them will result in permanent stat increases for Karuna.
** The final dungeon has several bonus minibosses guarding the [[InfinityMinusOneSword second best weapons]] in the game.
** Haathalek is a three-headed sea creature that can be summoned by the Deathspawn Harp. While it was summoned in the main story to attack Lynette's ship, the party can later use the harp to summon the beast in the final dungeon and slay it for a rare alchemy ingredient.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent:
** The Rezael angel mentioned by a person in Parvian's Three Angels section.
** The Angels of Wisdom, Power, and Courage, which make up the Three Angels, who are represented by naked statues of WingedHumanoid BarbieDollAnatomy women and arranged in a triangle.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: The fairies are small WingedHumanoid illusionists, and can create an eternal flame in a lantern, which is the item called "Fae Flame".
* {{Panacea}}:
** Antivenin Shrooms cure poison.
** Wellness Flowers cure blindness, silence, and paralysis.
* PartyInMyPocket: Happens when all the character sprites are clustered on one tile, like after resting at an inn.
* PermanentlyMissableContent: Crystallized Hope. If you miss more than two, you can't craft the InfinityPlusOneSword. Although, you get a good bit of armor instead.
* PlantMooks: Jerkass Flowers and their PaletteSwap counterparts are evil plants with eyes.
* PointOfNoReturn: At some points, you can't backtrack anymore, like at the Final Dungeon.
* PreexistingEncounters: You can see boss encounters in fixed places on the map.
* ProperlyParanoid: Delores, a citizen of Erdengard, is terrified when her son runs off to play in Castle Darkloft, since she believes that place must be cursed. While she's usually the prime example of an overprotective parent, the castle contains the evil and sentient armor of Ellicide, making her worries justified.
* RandomDrops: Healing items and crafting materials are dropped randomly from enemies.
* RareCandy: Serum type items permanently boost stats.
* RoamingEnemy: Normal enemies appear on the map and move around, and can be avoided, but they chase you if they see you. They also tend not to respawn until you leave the dungeon, but there are some exceptions where they'll respawn upon the player leaving the room.
* RestAndResupplyStop: The combination inn, weapon and consumables store, and alchemy facility, on a side path off the Pehl Mountain Path. Many dungeons either have or are near fairy camps that provide shops and alchemy services.
* RuleOfThree: Multiple:
** The three items that TheChosenOne must gather: the Orb of Light, the Scepter of Promise, and the Gem of Hope.
** The Three Angels, worshipped by some people.
* ShoutOut:
** To Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda: When the Three Angels are depicted in Parvian, The Angel of Power is at the top, the Angel of Wisdom is to the left, and the Angel of Courage is to the right, just like the Triforces of Power, Wisdom, and Courage.
** To the ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'' anime: Guard leader on the way to Springsmouth from Parvian, says:
---> As soon as we get word from the castle, we'll begin a very special mission! '''We'll show those monsters out there who's the very best, like no one ever was!'''
** The Chambers of Rest have an enemy called ''Myth/{{Polybius}}'', and when hit, it turns into the symbol that appears in the game for a second. The [[UndergroundMonkey powerful later version]] is called Sinneslöschen, after the company who made the game in the urban legend.
** One NPC in Hotenshin says this:
--->We have a buy one, get one free special on [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Potion_No._9_(song) Love Potion #8]] for the festival!
** In the Love Contest, Nate proceeds to [[SerenadeYourLover sing his love]] to his boyfriend Gerald... and the song is “[[JustForFun/RickRoll Never Gonna Give You Up]]”. An annoyed Gerald stops him before he gets past the first two lines.
** One of the craft-able items is called the [[VideoGame/{{Mother}} Magicant]] Charm.
** A few of the statues in Castle Darkloft heavily resembles a greyed-out [[VideoGame/EarthBound1994 Mani Mani Statue]].
** Some of the sounds are from ''VideoGame/StarCraftI''.
** The Hermit Shellvos/Elder Shellvos enemies highly resembles the Lavos Spawn of [[MonsterIsAMommy Lavos]] itself from ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''.
** The Giottman Diamond key item is a direct reference to [[VideoGame/EarthBound1994 Earthbound]] when Ness and co. need something very pricey to get the Runaway Five out of yet another mess of theirs. It even references said band in its description in fact.
-->A diamond worth enough to pay off any jazz band's debt.
* SnakePeople: Nagas are human above the waist and are snake below. [[spoiler:They were descended from humans who used alchemy to change their bodies, but most of the present day Nagas refuse to believe any evidence of this.]]
* SpamAttack: Some skills can do it:
** 'Yes Indeed!' for Greater Evils and Quietus Clocks
** 'Cross Slash' for Quietus Clocks, which hits twice.
** Karuna's 'There Will Be Blood' Impulse Skill that strikes thrice.
* StandardRPGItems: There's {{Panacea}}s, {{Healing Potion}}s, {{Mana Potion}}s, Revival items, etc.
* StatusEffects: [[DamageOverTime Poison]], which can't kill, for enemies, at least, Blind (greatly reduces accuracy of physical attacks), and Silence, preventing Magic use.
* SuicideAttack: Heal Potion Blobs have Healsplosion, which sacrifices themselves to heal everyone on the field. Enemies and allies alike.
* SummonMagic: [[spoiler:Aurelie gains the ability to summon Eelinoth and Therona, since some of her life force was originally used to create them.]]
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:After Darkloft is mortally wounded, she manages to open the door to Aothuth and gloats that the demons within will overrun the world and turn it into HellOnEarth.]]
* TooAwesomeToUse: The True Love Chocolate completely encapsulates this. It's even more rare than Utmost Elixers and the stat-boosting potions. Using it in only the most dire of circumstances when dangerously low on MP for all party members makes sense when you want to conserve your Magic Ambrosia for potential boss battles later on down the road. [[spoiler: (especially when Karuna and co. are in the dark depths of the demon realm and the '''only thing''' that is close to the inn service is from a literal [[{{Greed}} demon of greed]], who resides at the top of said depths and charges well over '''ten thousand Vei''' for each restoration.)]]
* TraumaInn: Inns recover HP and MP. In areas with no inns, there are sometimes [=NPCs=] who can fully recover the party.
* TrickBoss: [[spoiler:An example that is also a DiscOneFinalBoss. The first actual battle against [[BigBad Darkloft]] at [[DiscOneFinalDungeon Castle Darkloft]] is built up as the boss of the area and the final boss, but once the short battle is over, Darkloft escapes, and Lynette winds up being the boss of Castle Darkloft.]]
* UndergroundMonkey: The PaletteSwap variant is Discussed by a soldier on the road to Springsmouth from Parvian:
--> Has anyone else noticed that the same monster but with a different color to 'im is somehow a lot stronger? I wonder why?
* VagueStatValues: Pollyanna Cure seems to be the stronger version of Healing Optimism, due to ThemeNaming and sharing the same symbol, but doesn't give precise measurements of its improvement, but it costs more than twice as much {{Mana}}:
--> '''Healing Optimism:''' Restores HP to one ally.\
'''Pollyanna Cure:''' Restores more HP to one ally.
* WeBuyAnything: Any store that sells anything, will buy everything in your inventory, except for key items and alchemy ingredients.
* WelcomeToCorneria: Discussed by a child in Erdengard:
--> We had a town greeter before. Actually, I think he was a drunk who thought shouting the name of the town at newcomers was funny.
* WingedHumanoid: The fairies scattered throughout the land and the three angels in the Luxaren Legacy dungeon all have wings attached to their humanoid bodies.
* WombLevel: The red room of Castle Darkloft that holds the infernal armor of Ellicide has the armor in a bone claw like structure with red tendrils over the walls.
