A SpinOff game to Creator/DanielRemar's ''VideoGame/GardenGnomeCarnage''. You play as Princess Pitch, a side character from GGC, who is very fond of explosions and bears a big grudge against [[HumongousMecha Mecha Santa]]. Supported by your trusty ally, Catstrike, and your mother, the Goddess of Explosions, you blast into Santa's factory and ShootEverythingThatMoves (mainly robotic ChristmasElves, turrets and combat-suitable toys) with explosive bricks, rainbow beams and ice rays, intending to confront Mecha Santa himself in the end.

In terms of gameplay and design, it's a cute, tongue-in-cheek remake of the obscure, rather dark DOS ArenaShooter ''Operation Carnage''. You have a limited amount of [[VideoGameLives lives]], explore Santa's base room by room and defeat hordes of enemies {{Zerg Rush}}ing you. The game is rather short (only containing four normal stages) and you cannot save, but it has a high replay value due to multiple DifficultyLevels, many paths to take, and tons of secrets. It's fast-paced, has smooth controls, and focuses on dodging and destroying enemies about equally.

The free Windows version of ''Hyper Princess Pitch'' was released on December 1st, 2011. Which you can download [[http://www.remar.se/daniel/pitch.php here]] and you can check out the excellent game trailer [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRJYFbJDkqs here.]]

!!'''This game provides examples of the following tropes:'''
%% Administrivia/ZeroContextExample entries are not allowed on wiki pages. All such entries have been commented out. Add context to the entries before uncommenting them.
* AbnormalAmmo: Bricks are your basic ammunition.
* AdvancingBossOfDoom: Stage 3's boss slowly advances towards you as the battle goes on.
* AirborneMook: Sleighs. This allows them to float over bottomless pits.
* AlliterativeName: '''P'''rincess '''P'''itch
* AlliterativeTitle: Hyper '''P'''rincess '''P'''itch
* AnAssKickingChristmas: You go around Mecha Santa's base blowing everything to smithereens.
* AnIcePerson:
** One of Pitch's alternate ammo types is a short-ranged ice spread.
** One of Mecha Santa's Desperation Attacks, "DEEP FREEZE!" involves [[BulletHell a crapload of icicles flying everywhere]].
* ApocalypseHow: The GoldenEnding results in [[spoiler:a Galactic/Physical Annihilation]]. The name "[[spoiler:Galactic Princess Buster]]" isn't an exaggeration.
* AscendedExtra: Pitch was a supporting character in ''VideoGame/GardenGnomeCarnage''.
* AshFace: Pitch and Catstrike in the ending, [[spoiler:courtesy of Mecha Santa]].
* AttackReflector: Counter can reflect certain attacks in addition to just blocking them. [[spoiler:This is essential to get the GoldenEnding.]]
* AwesomeButImpractical: The code for bigger explosions. Looks a lot more fun, but makes threats harder to see.
* BadassFamily: Pitch's parents are the Goddess of Explosions and the Bear Miner.
* BadassSanta: Naturally, Mecha Santa is the {{final boss}}.
* BadSanta: In the ending, [[spoiler:Mecha Santa is seemingly forgiving towards Pitch... but then it turns out the present he gave her was explosive. [[VillainProtagonist Not to say that the Princess didn't deserve that]]]]. Also, his boss room, in which he's on a podium talking to a bunch of elves in the stands, looks a lot like [[PuttingOnTheReich the Nuremberg Rally]].
* BottomlessMagazines: Bricks are infinite.
* BulletHell: In harder difficulties, the screen can be filled to the brim with enemies… and projectiles. [[spoiler:Especially on Reallyjoel's Mom.]]
* CallingYourAttacks:
** Pitch calls out "PRINCESS BUSTER!" when she piledrives bosses to make them explode [[EverythingMakesAMushroom in a mushroom cloud]].
** Mecha Santa shouts the names of his attacks AND displays them on a screen above him at the same time.
* {{Cap}}: You can carry 99 units of rainbow and ice ammo each at a time.
* CarFu: You can grab a train (or theoretically, the clown car miniboss) to smash them into your other enemies.
* CastingAShadow: Mecha Santa has his "Double Dark Blaster" and "Dark Wave" to evoke this trope. DarkIsNotEvil applies here.
* CatchPhrase: Pitch's specific way of saying "Awesome.".
* ChristmasElves: You are in Santa's base, what else would you expect your enemies to be?
* ClassicCheatCode: [[spoiler:The Goddess is summoned with the Konami Code.]]
* CollisionDamage: You deal it as well to even out the short duration of MercyInvincibility.
* CoolShades: Worn by elves on elite sleighs.
* CrosshairAware: Small X-es mark the area of effect of some enemy attacks.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Inverted in the ending. [[spoiler:And then subverted. When Mecha Santa' gift turns out to be Explosive, Pitch turns back to slam Santa into the ground.]]
* DenialOfDiagonalAttack: Downplayed. You can shoot in 8 directions at least.
* DesperationAttack: Bosses on high difficulty levels will regain some health upon destruction and start using powerful attacks until they are dead.
* DestructibleProjectiles: Ice shots have the purpose of deflecting weaker bullets.
* EarthShatteringKaboom: In the GoldenEnding, [[spoiler:the princess uses a technique learned from her mother to blow up the entire galaxy by crashing the moon into Mecha Santa]].
* EasterEgg: Loads of them, this being a Creator/DanielRemar game.
* EasyModeMockery: Mostly averted. Your headgear changes depending on the difficulty level, but the effect is neutral or positive rather than humiliating.
* EliteMook: Obviously robotic robot elves, and sleighs with shades-wearing pilots.
* EpunymousTitle: The title is a play on ''VideoGame/SuperPrincessPeach'', and is a reference to the protagonist, Princess Pitch.
* EverythingExplodesEnding: It's called the "Galactic Princess [=BusTAAH=]" for a reason!
* EverythingFades: Don't let your powerups lie around for too long.
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: A rainbow beam is one of the three main weapons.
* EvilWillFail: If you lose your last life in the boss battle against Mecha Santa in Goddess of Explosions difficulty, he will proclaim, "Evil will never triumph!" instead of "Ho ho ho!" like usual.
* FingerGun: Mecha Santa uses this gesture in his attack "PEW PEW SALSA!"
* FinishingMove: When a stage boss is about to explode, Pitch can get close to them and destroy them with [[CallingYourAttacks PRINCESS! BUSTAAAAH!]] [[spoiler:Later on, the goddess of explosions can teach you an upgraded version of it to finish off Mecha Santa.]]
* FreudianExcuse:
-->He sure never gave ME any presents when I was a kid!
* GodMode: [[spoiler:Activated by typing in RGIOSA at any time unless you're on Reallyjoel's Mom.]] You can't get onto the high-score board if you do this, though.
* GoldenEnding: [[spoiler:Instead of just blowing Mecha Santa up, the Princess slams him into the moon, and then piledrives the whole thing into Earth. Santa's whole base violently explodes. The force of the impact causes the Earth to plummet into the Sun, and the Sun explodes. And then the galaxy explodes as well. [[CatchPhrase Awesome.]]]]
* HarderThanHard: The "Goddess of Explosions" difficulty mode. And [[spoiler:the "[[MemeticBadass Reallyjoel's Mom]]" difficulty]].
* HardModePerks: Mostly averted. Players can earn more points on higher difficulties, but there are no special gameplay bonuses.
* HavingABlast: Obviously enough, Princess Pitch and her mother, [[OddJobGods the Goddess of Explosions]].
* HeartsAreHealth: Hearts found in the levels restore Pitch's life meter.
* HeroAntagonist: Mecha Santa, who only wants a world of "joy, and laughter, and presents for all". According to his bio, his fortress of mechanical death is all intended purely to stop Princess Pitch.
* HumongousMecha: Mecha Santa, among others.
* IdiosyncraticDifficultyLevels:
** Trainee
** Combat Lady
** Battle Princess
** War Queen
** Goddess of Explosions
** [[spoiler:[[MemeticBadass reallyjoel's mom]]]] [[invoked]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: Pitch set out to kill Mecha Santa and ruin Christmas for everyone else because ''she'' didn't get anything from him when she was a kid. [[spoiler:The GoldenEnding takes it up to eleven by [[OmnicidalManiac having her destroy]] [[EarthShatteringKaboom an entire galaxy]]. [[DisproportionateRetribution Yikes]].]]
* KillEnemiesToOpen: The doors to other rooms only open after all the enemies in a room are destroyed.
* KingMook: The boss of the first stage is basically an upgraded version of the flying sled mooks.
* MadeOfExplodium: Bricks, crates, and Christmas trees. HandWaved by making things explosive being a power of the Goddess of Explosions.
* MadEye: Mecha Santa has one eye larger than the other.
* MercyInvincibility: Very shortly, but to even it out every mook that touches you is destroyed as well.
* MetalSlime: Elite sleighs are hard to destroy but give a good amount of points.
* MeteorMove: Pitch can do this to normal enemies (which, for extra fun, include toy [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI trains]]), and she can also finish off all bosses (except Mecha Santa) this way. And the Goddess of Explosions does this [[spoiler:to the Planet Saturn in her attack]].
* MookMaker: The toy clown car miniboss spawns new enemies, as it was to be expected.
* [[MoreDakka More Explosions]]: The modus operandi of Princess Pitch.
--> '''Goddess of Explosions''': Anyway, what is your wish?\
'''Princess Pitch''': More explosions.\
'''Goddess of Explosions''': Your wish is granted!!!
* {{Mooks}}: Unsurprisingly, standard robot elves serve as the meat of Robot Santa's army.
* MythologyGag:
** The key combo for Counter/Piledriver is identical to that of Expel in ''VideoGame/HeroCore''.
** There's a secret level filled with incarnations of [[spoiler:Spacenörd, the protagonist of an old game by Creator/DanielRemar]].
** Pitch's father, the Bear Miner, is the protagonist of a [=NoMoreSweden=] game by Daniel Remar, which was also a SpiritualSequel to ''VideoGame/GardenGnomeCarnage''.
** When catching a jumping enemy from the air to smash them into the ground, Pitch says "Not a chance." in a way very similar to Ansaksie from ''VideoGame/{{Iji}}'', and is, in fact, the same voice clip according to WordOfGod.
** The first picture in the ending is identical to the first picture of the ending in ''Iji'', only with Pitch instead of Iji and Mecha Santa instead of Tor.
** When respawning at least twice in the same room, Pitch would [[DeadpanSnarker sarcastically go "Whoopee..."]] in reference to ''Videogame/GardenGnomeCarnage'', the game she originally appeared in.
** One Stage 3 MiniBoss uses the fire pattern of [[CowardlyBoss The Eliminator]] from ''VideoGame/HeroCore''.
* MutuallyExclusivePowerups: The Speed, Power, and Cattelite power-ups will overwrite each other if one is picked up while a different one is in use.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: Robotic Christmas elves and a legless airstrike cat.
* NoFairCheating: Entering any cheat codes at any point (except for [[spoiler:summoning the Goddess of Explosions]] or [[spoiler:the RGXCES cheat]]) will replace the score with CHEATED and prevent you from entering the high-score board. Cheats are also disabled on [[spoiler:Reallyjoel's Mom]].
* NoIndoorVoice
-->'''Goddess of Explosions''': ''THIS '''IS''' MY INDOOR VOICE!''
* NotHyperbole: [[spoiler:The name of the secret technique "Galactic Princess Buster" isn't for show — if she were to obtain the technique, she'll use it on Mecha Santa, ''resulting in the destruction of the entire galaxy''.]]
* OrbitingParticleShield: The Cattelite power-up has two copies of Catstrike orbit Pitch.
* OddJobGods: There is a Goddess of '''Explosions''', for crissakes.
* OhCrap: The Good Mecha Santa is pretty horrified if you [[spoiler:summon the Goddess of Explosions]], and for good reason.
* PinballProjectile: The [[EverythingsBetterWithRainbows rainbow]] weapon. [[spoiler:The Hyper Y: Deluge {{powerup}} also fits this.]]
* PowerUp: Several pickups that enhance your power temporarily in some way.
* PrettyPrincessPowerhouse: Princess Pitch, the beautiful royal in the pink dress, can fight her way through a base full of killer robots by means of [[StuffBlowingUp exploding absolutely everything]].
* PrincessesPreferPink: Pitch is a positively pink, powerful princess.
* RammingAlwaysWorks: The first level boss's DesperationAttack in higher difficulties. Depending on how good you are, this trope can be averted.
* RespawnOnTheSpot: After dying, you drop back into the level at the exact spot which you died. This creates an explosion that kills nearby enemies and gives you a few seconds of MercyInvincibility. Of course, the game has limited lives.
* RouteBoss: The mini-bosses are positioned so each of the possible third rooms of each stage has a different one.
* ShockAndAwe: Mecha Santa's "ARCTIC THUNDER!" involves lightning bolts.
* ShoutingShooter: Having inherited some of her mom's hamminess, Pitch naturally tends to shout quite a bit as she mows down hordes of enemies.
* ShoutOut:
** Princess Pitch has a 1/20 chance of saying [[WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck Darkwing Duck's]] catchphrase of "Let's get dangerous!" whenever she respawns or enters the stage.
** Several names of Mecha Santa's attacks are shoutouts to various other works:
*** Cowabunga: One of Michelangelo's catchphrases in ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles''.
*** Giga Bomb Breaker: A reference to Simon's Giga Drill Break technique in ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann''.
*** Legendary Charge: An attack by Barta from ''[[VideoGame/SkiesOfArcadia Skies of Arcadia: Legends]]'' often followed by Legendary Punch.
*** Wax On Wax Off: Reference to Daniel's training in ''Film/TheKarateKid''.
** You can enter cheat codes during play. They all start with RG (Remar Games), in reference to how all VideoGame/{{Doom}} cheat codes start with ID (Id Software).
** One of the minibosses, "Frilly Hat Elf" is a ''Franchise/TouhouProject'' reference, as [[http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/References_to_Touhou#Hyper_Princess_Pitch confirmed]] by WordOfGod.
** The game title is reminiscent of ''VideoGame/SuperPrincessPeach'', and the title character is similar in basic appearance.
** The way Princess Pitch can blow up bosses with a "Princess Buster", a piledriver resulting in a [[EverythingMakesAMushroom nuclear explosion]] is probably intended to reference [[Franchise/StreetFighter Zangief]]'s "Final Atomic Buster", only taken much more literally. The name itself, combined with it being a move involving grappling an opponent and jumping into the air with them, also recalls the [[Manga/{{Kinnikuman}} Kinniku Buster]].
* SinisterScythe: A stand-alone one appears as a resilient, annoying type of enemy.
* SmartBomb: [[spoiler:Calling the Goddess of Explosions to annihilate everything in the vicinity by exploding the planet Saturn.]]
* SomebodySetUpUsTheBomb: [[spoiler:The gift Pitch received in the ending? It was explosive.]]
* SpreadShot: The Triple powerup bestows this temporarily.
* StuffBlowingUp: You play as the daughter of the Goddess of Explosions, [[spoiler:and you can summon said Goddess via a certain code]]. Your enemies are mostly mechanical, which might as well mean they're MadeOfExplodium. So yes, there's quite a bit of StuffBlowingUp in this game. Even the main screen displays Pitch flying out of a gigantic explosion. And in the GoldenEnding? [[spoiler:Princess Pitch's FinishingMove on Mecha Santa ''blows up the galaxy''.]]
* SuplexFinisher: Princess Pitch has a piledriver attack.
* TechnicalPacifist: Mecha Santa. He wants to bring peace to the world, but he has an army and factory defenses solely to ward off Princess Pitch.
* ThePowerOfRock: One of the attacks used by Mecha Santa is "DEATH METAL DISASTER ZONE!" He shows the "devil horns" sign with his hands and all the elves in the audience start shooting at Pitch.
* TurnsRed: Noteworthily played straight due to Daniel Remar's usual inversion of the trope. On the highest difficulties, every boss gets a desperation mode and recovers half health when their normal health bar depletes.
* UnlockableDifficultyLevels: The code to the {{Unwinnable}} Joke Difficulty is given upon clearing hard mode.
* UnwinnableJokeGame: The highest difficulty level, "Reallyjoel's Mom." It's safe to say that no human will be beating it any time soon, though [[ToolAssistedSpeedRun TAS]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLoA8vYtIT0 has shown that it is technically beatable]], unlike the equivalent difficulty in ''Videogame/{{Iji}}''.
** [[spoiler:Reallyjoel's Mom isn't quite as good at video games as Reallyjoel's Dad is. She requires games to be technically possible in order to beat them. Reallyjoel's Dad is just that little bit better that lets him beat impossible games too.]]
* VideoGameLives: The initial amount depends on the DifficultyLevel. You also gain one per level.
* VillainProtagonist: Our horrible heroine's motivation is that since she didn't get any presents when she was a kid, no one should. In the GoldenEnding, [[spoiler:she blows up the galaxy!]]
* WaveMotionGun: The rainbow laser used by the boss of Stage 3.
** Mecha Santa starts phase 2 with one of these, named the Aurora Force.
* WillfullyWeak: Mecha Santa knows 15 self-defense techniques, but he will hold back on some of them depending on how Princess Pitch is doing (i.e. on the difficulty level).
* WorldOfHam: Mecha Santa and the goddess of explosions kind of out-ham Pitch, but she has her moments, so yes, this applies.
