->''Demon Gazer. Lead us into the future with your eye. Light up the Asteria Revolution!''

''Demon Gaze II'' is a RPG/Dungeon Crawler for the Platform/PlaystationVita and Platform/Playstation4 created by Kadokawa Games. It was first released in Japan in 2017 and America later that year. It is a direct sequel to the first ''VideoGame/DemonGaze'' with several characters and locations returning.

In this game, you take control of a young man (Default name: Signa) who awakens with no memories inside of a strange castle and is led by a strange girl named Peg to a device called the Astral Furnace that kills people and converts them into Star Power for use by [[BigBad Magnastar]], [[EvilOverlord the ruler of the city]]. After being saved at the last moment, Signa defeats Peg, the demon Pegasus, in battle, and absorbs her soul into his eye, turning her into an ally. Signa soon learns that he is part of the [[LaResistance Asteria Revolution]], aiming to overthrow Magnastar and free the city by using his own Demon Gazer and Star Power against him.

The gameplay is mostly identical to the first game: You create a party of five characters (including the protagonist) as you travel into a labyrinth to find and defeat the resident demon(s). This is done by searching out and capturing all the "Demon Circles" scattered across the labyrinth. Once all circles have been sealed, a demon will appear, who you must then defeat. After winning the fight, the demon will be sealed away by your Demon Gazer power, and then- in the biggest change from the first game- become the playable party members rather than hiring mercenaries from Stella's Place.

In addition, the game allows you to customize your party with Artifacts which give them different set of abilities that they might not be able to acquire themselves, as well as changing their appearances in the bath area at the inn. New skills and stat upgrades for each demon (and Signa) can be earned by upgrading his Likability with each one either by performing Maintenance or by giving each demon a private room.

!!This game contains examples of:

* AmnesiacHero: Signa lost all of his memories when being imbued with the power of a Demon Gazer.
* AnAdventurerIsYou: Considerably toned down compared to most of Experience's Dungeon Crawlers. While the first game had the Gazer as something of mix of the default Fighter and Healer classes, in addition to Demon controls, with custom characters within the default classes themselves, Signa is a variable mix of Fighter, Healer, Paladin, and Samurai depending on the alignment choice, while all other possible party members are also premade characters drawing from a mix of traditional classes allowing for any character to swing into one of several roles depending on party composition, equipment, and alignment.
%%* BigBad: Magnastar.
* BigDamnHero: Cassel saving Signa during the prologue.
* BigEater: Leo and Taurus tend to order entire pages worth of food from the menu whenever they eat.
* BonusDungeon: Two.
** The post-game dungeon.
** Clearing the post-game dungeon opens a second, that was originally DownloadableContent in the Japanese release but free in the Global release, that revisits the locations of the first game, effectively doubling the game's length.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: What happens to anyone who succumbs to Magnastar's Star Gaze unless they can counteract or resist it somehow.
* BreakTheHaughty: Capricorn goes through this during her character events after getting lost and wandering for hours.
%%* ButtMonkey: Lezerem. [[VideoGame/DemonGaze Again]].
* CastFromHitPoints: This is effectively what happens to [[spoiler:Prim]] if she unleashes her full song power. [[spoiler:Justified in that she ''is'' the physical incarnation of Starlita]].
* CharacterAlignment: InUniverse, choosing a Good/Neutral/Evil alignment will determine the skills that Signa and the demons learn. It also determines Signa's default appearance, but that can be changed at any time.
* CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: Magnastar and Prometh both could've solved things in a far less bloody fashion had they just spelled out who and what the real enemy was. Magnastar simply ran on the assumption that either the foreign god and the God of Evil "Demon Lord" were the same being or were collaborating against him, exactly which is unclear, and never sought to clear things up. Upon finally seeing who exactly is behind the revolution's recent actions, [[spoiler: he shuts down the Astral Furnace, immediately killing Erik, but was too late to stop the summoning.]] Prometh on the other hand never provides the vital information about the true enemy and their plans until after the battle is over as, through a series of coincidences and intentional evasion, she simply [[spoiler: never met Erik in the first place and wasn't even aware of their existence until the day of the final battle, at which point she was more preoccupied with saving Prim's soul]]. A detail she's quick to bring up when Cassel tries to ask why she kept all that to herself.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Muse and Prim are [[spoiler:the daughters of the God of Evil]], but their motives in saving the city are still pure. Though they treat [[spoiler:having to deal with assassins from the God of Good]] as a constant inconvenience (as the representative of the dragon God of Neutrality, [[ContinuityNod Fran]], is still off on her honeymoon and not doing her job mediating between Good and Evil).
* EyeColorChange: Signa's right eye is a [[OccultBlueEyes bright blue]], while his left eye changes depending on his portrait alignment. Good portraits have a green eye, Neutral a [[SupernaturalGoldEyes gold one]], and Evil a [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eye]]. Regardless, Cassel notes that Signa's eyes are extremely creepy at least once.
* FalseReassurance: Muse is not so great at helping her case, as seen below at INeverSaidItWasPoison. Prometh gets in on it too.
--> '''Muse''': "Even if it were true, we're harmless ''[[ThinkingOutLoud for the time being]]'', so forget about it!"
--> '''Toma''': "For... the time being?"
--> '''Lezerem''': "So you're going to be harmful later on?
--> '''Gary''': "How unconvincing."
--> '''Cassel''': "Hey, Prometh. Are you sure we'll be okay?"
--> '''Prometh''': "Yes. You will be fine. More or less. Roughly speaking."
* FanDisservice: Lezerem still has his tendency of stripping naked from when he was more of a {{Bishonen}}. The second postgame area takes this even further with him naked and [[TentacleRope bound by tentacles]].
* FatSlob: Lezerem has become morbidly obese between games, using all of the money he's earned selling radios to take a level in fatass.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Lezerem. The Revolution only keeps him around because he's the only one who can tune their radio equipment.
** Driven home with two back to back plotlines. Toma's capture is treated as being [[NoOneGetsLeftBehind absolutely necessary to rescue him]], even setting aside the emotional aspect as simply being that they can't afford to sacrifice anyone or risk losing the goodwill of the people. Lezerem's capture is written off as him deserving it and that "sometimes you have to sacrifice one for the greater good." and is promptly written off as though he's already dead. His rescue is entirely accidental
* GentleGiant: Canis. He is large and intimidating, but he takes care of flowers throughout the city.
%%* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Leo and especially Aquarius. Recruiting the latter even requires retrieving some rare sake for her.
* HaremSeeker: Signa, potentially. A ''very'' thinly veiled question from Muse during a radio interview wonders who between sisters he'd be interested in. One option is to say he'd simply go for both at once.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: Prim got all of the singing talent in the family. When Muse tries to sing, she ''blows up a radio''!
* INeverSaidItWasPoison: Zabu questions how accurate Magnastar's claims of[[spoiler: the Revolutionist Party serving the Demon Lord are and Muse tries to shut it down claiming there's no way she and Prim could be the Demon Lord's daughters. Cassel is quick to point out that nobody suggested anything about anyone being ''daughters'' of the Demon Lord.]]
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Prometh continues this role from the first game by occasionally showing up half-dressed at meetings due to being NotAMorningPerson.
%%* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: Prim when confronting the brainwashed [[spoiler:Muse]].
* LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards: Inverted. Physically oriented characters are decent, though behind any mages, early on in the game. Late game there are many areas that passively disable magic and numerous enemies carry Magic Break, which cuts all magical power in half. Meanwhile physical characters suffer no such restrictions in any areas and any buffs or debuffs that could hinder their output can be dispelled, unlike Magic Break. Many weapons throughout the game also carry a chance on hit to cast spells, late game physical characters who are reaching the damage cap can begin investing in their INT stat and use these weapons to effectively surpass the standard damage cap. Mages, while having access to ''some'' of these weapons, lack default access to physical skills to help hit repeatedly to trigger the weapons, ultimately leaving them on status management duty rather than direct combat participation.
* LoveTriangle: Both Muse and Prim are in love with Signa. [[spoiler:Justified since they are one soul split into two bodies]].
* MagicMusic: Starlita, the song used to gather Star Power within the various districts of the city and keep the people under Magnastar's control. The Revolution similarly uses it to free the people from said control.
* MauveShirt: Gary. A faceless regular much like Jig from the first game, he regularly accompanies Signa out on various missions and assists in the public broadcasts. By the time the third one rolls around he starts expressing concerns and actively goes out of his way to raise just about every relevant death flag with several characters beginning to worry about the him and the event itself. [[spoiler: Ultimately the broadcast goes off as well as can be expected, [[SubvertedTrope and with nobody dying]]. All the flag raising accomplished was to get several Revolutionist members captured harmlessly.]]
* NoSenseOfDirection:
** Erik will get lost whenever he tries to go somewhere new. He'll also get lost whenever he tries to go somewhere familiar.
** In one character event, Capricorn storms away in anger and ends up not getting home until well after nightfall because she kept getting lost.
%%* NoblewomansLaugh: Capricorn introduces herself with one.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Twisted with Peg in that she's one of the smallest party members but easily becomes one of the best tanks, making her a Pint-Sized StoneWall.
* PungeonMaster: Centaur likes to crack a pun in nearly every scene she has a speaking line in.
%%* RelationshipValues: The Likability rating for Signa and each of the demons.
%%* SlasherSmile: Muse is prone to these when her villainous side emerges.
%%* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: The Astral Blade.
* ThemeNaming: All of the demons are named after constellations, including several in the western Zodiac.
