Context Tropers / Gosicrystal

Hello, Gosicrystal here. Joined the website on a kinda curious date (June 9, 2016 -- if you've played ''VisualNovel/NineHoursNinePersonsNineDoors'', you know why) and have been editing a lot since then. Among my contributions, I have added trope and work examples, corrected [[Administrivia/ExampleIndentationInTropeLists bad indentation]], commented out and filled Zero Context Examples (just a trope and a character, for example), folderized example lists, improved example sorting... Lots of things.

My hobbies are video gaming and drawing. And of course, TV Tropes. I spend a lot of time every day in [=YouTube=], too. My favorite [=YouTubers=] are [=RanguGamer=] (yeah, I speak Spanish) and [=Pharaoh2091=].

* ''VisualNovel/TyrionCuthbertAttorneyOfTheArcane''. The gimmick is ''Ace Attorney'' + magic in a fantasy world. It may sound like an uninspired ripoff, but don't judge a book by its cover. Its writing is top notch and its characters are enthralling, more so than those from the trailblazer in my opinion. The art and music are also really good. Spells add an interesting twist to murder mysteries. Seriously, if you liked ''Ace Attorney'', you ''need'' to play this.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' games are indisputably my favorite of all time. They marked a turning point in my gaming life. Special mentions go to:
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBindingBlade''. People say the story is boring, but I think it's pretty good. It taps into the familiar while spinning it in new directions. The gameplay is [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness weird]] for sure, but charming.
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheSacredStones''. Nintendo apparently gifted it to me as per the Ambassador Program in 3DS. I had no idea what I was getting into, but boy did I discover a great franchise. Anime + Chess + RPG = Fun.
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'': Being a fan of TimeTravel plots, it was obvious I would be interested in a game with a GroundhogDayLoop mechanic. I had heard and seen the virtues of this jewel on the internet, but I really understood just how ''good'' it is when I played it myself. It's one of the most artistic and abstract installments of the ''Zelda'' series; a masterpiece that combines despair, determination, death, grief, and hope brilliantly with its gameplay, visuals and soundtrack.
* ''VideoGame/GhostTrickPhantomDetective'': A mind-blowing Nintendo DS game with a really good plot, adorable characters, good music and interesting gameplay mechanics. Plus, it has TimeTravel, a theme I love!
* ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'': Definitely one of the best games ever made, and still improving. Letting you create the world you want with its simple mechanics is absolutely unique.
* ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyTrialsAndTribulations'': The third game of the main ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' series. It's a peak of quality that some may say has already been surpassed by ''Investigations 2'', but which I treasure in my mind as the best ''Ace Attorney'' ever.
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword'': A game that has created a lot of controversy but which has gotten to me with its beautiful graphic style and OST. It feels like a fresh wind in the franchise.
* ''VideoGame/ArcStyleBaseball3D'': This is a not-too-good casual baseball game with bad music and [[ArtificialStupidity stupid AI]], but I have spent hundreds of hours having fun playing with my custom characters. Seriously, playing with {{Exp|y}}ies of characters from ''VideoGame/GhostTrick'', ''Franchise/OnePiece'' and ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' is a joy, as long as you know how to make them look alike!
* ''VideoGame/MarioSuperSluggers'', which I absolutely love but can't play because I have a PAL Wii U and the game will only work in an NTSC one.
* ''VisualNovel/NineHoursNinePersonsNineDoors'': A visual novel that inspired horror on me, but which I grew very fond of by the end of it. Seriously, it needs to be known better.
* ''VideoGame/{{Portal}}'': Puzzle solving with portable worm holes? Shut up and take my money!

* PetPeeveTrope:
** SmartPeopleWearGlasses. I can't understand how there are people in real life who automatically think that a person with glasses must be smart. It just means that '''they can't see well'''. Period. They could be a dumbass and still wear glasses.
** HowWeGotHere. Seriously, just go in chronological order. I despise being presented with a climactic 20-second scene at the beginning and then see "72 hours earlier". I just don't like going from climax to anticlimax like that. I can deal with this trope only if the episode is InMediasRes and the flashback showing how they got there is presented late in the episode and briefly.
** TheUnreveal and AmbiguousEnding. I guess I'm just a curious person who likes to be told everything. I don't like unresolved mysteries after a work ends.
* JustForFun/TroperTypes:
** Trope Editor. Most of what I do in this wiki is [[SeriousBusiness fix indentation]], comment out zero context examples and give them context, fix typos, evaluate whether a spoiler tag is overly long or short... That kind of things.
** The Advertiser, if you couldn't tell by the "Favorite videogames of all time" section. If a work that I like doesn't have many wicks, I'm happy to create them.
** The Art Museum Curator. I check ImagePickin often to see what new threads arise and how can I help to choose a better pic for any given page. Crowner voting and giving my thumbs up/down to proposals are the things I do most, although I sometimes reply to lateral issues and trains of thought someone else posts.
