9	* EnforcedMethodActing: Crossed with VoicesInOneRoom, Gore Verbinski gathered the cast on a stage with some set dressing and props and had them perform the script as if they were rehearsing for a live-action film. The dialogue was recorded with boom mics for the final product while the acting was recorded on camera under Verbinski's supervision as reference footage for the animators at Industrial Light and Magic, a couple of whom were on set according to Creator/NedBeatty. Creator/BillNighy said that this helped him dial in his performance, as he could see how his co-stars were reacting to him while Creator/JohnnyDepp called the process "emotion capture" because the interactions helped inform his portrayal of Rango.
