1	* BadExportForYou: The UK version of the album is only available on CD in two formats: A stereo "Deluxe Edition" from 2002 which omits overdubs on half the songs (including the lead guitar on the title track), or a poor quality mono CD from 2012 which uses copies of copies of copies of the original master recordings. Pick your poison. There are superior mono and stereo versions as of 2014, but these are only available digitally.

3	** The band don't look back fondly on the album. They dismissed it as a rush job (it was recorded in only a week) that didn't accurately represent their stage performances of that point in their career.
4	** Pete Townsend doesn't care for "La-La-La-Lies", saying that it "wasn't as good as this before I did it with Keith [Moon]. It's not my favourite one on the LP. It reminds me a bit of Music/SandieShaw".
5	** Towsend also didn't like "Out in the Street":
6	-->I hate that "no, no, no" bit. It was originally "show me, show me" but Kit Lambert thought it wasn't very good. He wrote all the new lyrics. I’m not going to take the blame for any of them. It sounds all cut about and edited.
7	* FollowTheLeader: "The Good's Gone" was inspired by Music/TheKinks' "See My Friends", mainly the guitar droning.
8	* RealitySubtext: Supposedly, the reason Pete Townshend sang "A Legal Matter" was that Roger Daltrey was divorcing his wife at the time.

10	** ''Series/SpittingImage'' did a sketch in the 1980's where they had puppet caricatures of John Entwistle and Pete Townshend sing a parody of "My Generation," which had the basic message that "their" generation were now old farts:
