!General trivia:
* The Woolery version was the last show to air on Game Show Network before its changeover to GSN on March 15, 2004.
----
!Specific trivia:
* ColbertBump: The runaway success of the online game ''VideoGame/{{Wordle}}'' led to many comparisons to - and, consequently, a major bump in interest in - ''Lingo''. It was only a matter of time before someone - in this case, CBS - took notice and pounced, leading to a new revival being announced in February 2022.
* CreatorBacklash: François Boulangé (the host of the Dutch version from 1992-2000 and announcer of ''Lingo Bingo Show'' in 2007) admitted in a 2014 interview (around the time of that version’s cancellation before it was revived in 2019) that he did not miss the show as it had become by then, saying that there was too much in "geluld" and commercialism.
* FollowTheLeader: The GSN revival in 2011 attempted to add a HotterAndSexier appeal. This might not have been possible if not for the surge of popularity Steve Harvey gave ''Series/FamilyFeud'' a year prior.
* FranchiseKiller: The complete mess GSN made of it in 2011 not only ensured that no more US versions would be produced for over a decade, but GSN also gave repeats of the Woolery version much harsher treatment afterward (see KeepCirculatingTheTapes).
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes:
** The 1980s version hasn't been seen since it ended, and few episodes circulate. This, despite being owned by Creator/IonTelevision (formerly PAX) and was included in its 2007 Viewers' Vote.
** Season 1 of the Woolery version hasn't been aired on a regular basis since 2005, presumably due to its blatantly low production values. However, ever since the Engvall version tanked, GSN had been [[OldShame extremely hesitant in airing either of their versions at all]] despite lesser-received originals like ''Series/ChainReaction'' and ''Series/{{Whammy}}'' still receiving regular spots on their schedule[[note]]for a while, anyway.[[/note]] The Woolery version in particular has only returned to GSN's schedule '''twice''' since 2012, once for a cycle of Seasons 4-6 and part of Season 3 in 2014, and once for a near-complete cycle of Seasons 3-6 in 2016. As a result of this, no Season 2 episodes have been aired since 2012, and no episodes have been aired at ''all'' since the changeover back to Game Show Network, nor have any aired on its sister channel Game Show Central, which, oddly enough, ''does'' show the Engvall version. One recent factor in the Woolery version not being rerun is the conservative-leaning host's habit of making controversial statements in recent years, including tweeting conspiracy theories about the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic, which led to him abandoning his Twitter account at one point.
* MissingEpisode: A series of Hawaiian episodes was taped in June 2005, offering a trip to Hawaii to the winning contestants. These episodes were scheduled to air in October, but sat for 14 months before finally airing on New Year's Day 2007, because the original sponsor dropped out.
* TroubledProduction: The original version had financial issues which led to several contestants never getting paid. In fact, Michael Reagan left the show as a result of this, not because of money, but because he feared that it would tarnish the reputation of his father, UsefulNotes/RonaldReagan, who by 1987 was already smarting politically from the Iran-Contra affair and Black Monday.
* UnCanceled:
** The US version was brought back ''twice'' by GSN, and brought back again by CBS in 2023.
** After five years, the Dutch version was brought back in 2019.
