1----˛* ActorAllusion: ˛** Creator/JohnDeLancie portrays ComicBook/{{Brainiac}}, a cosmic cyborg entity that has the power to [[ItOnlyWorksOnce upgrade and update his systems, machines, and weapons]] so as to better overpower his opponents. Needless to say, de Lancie is no stranger to [[Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS2E16QWho dealing with hyper-evolving cyborgs of death]], though he never portrayed one of them, barring [[VideoGame/StarTrekBorg that one PC game]].˛** P.J. Byrne portrays Firestorm, an {{Adorkable}} NiceGuy who is a CasanovaWannabe and has a childish sense of humor. Except here, [[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra he firebends instead of earthbending]].˛** Charlie Schlatter voices The Flash in the series. In one short, a ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' homage entitled "Beep Beep!," he quotes Bugs Bunny (from "High Diving Hare"). Schlatter previously voiced Ace Bunny, a decendant of Bugs, in ''WesternAnimation/LoonaticsUnleashed''.˛** Creator/JohnDiMaggio voices Lobo, another [[WesternAnimation/KimPossible biker dude]] with a hot headed attitude. ˛** Creator/BrentSpiner voices the ComicBook/TheRiddler, who's going up against ComicBook/TheJoker (voiced by Creator/MarkHamill) because the latter has a bone to pick with the former. Not only could this be a MythologyGag to "The War of Jokes and Riddles" arc from the comics, but Spiner previously voiced Joker himself [[WesternAnimation/YoungJustice in a previous outing]].˛** "Missing the Mark" is a big honking one, considering it involves the Joker, the Trickster, and Swamp Thing and the plot involves the former two kidnapping [[Creator/MarkHamill the voice actor for all three]], and he used his voice acting skill to confuse them all. Yes, it's an episode of Mark Hamill TalkingToHimself.˛*** Also counts as a MilestoneCelebration for Hamill's involvement in the DCAU, coming out 25 years after he first voiced The Joker.˛** Booster Gold doing a Batman impersonation in "Phased And Confused". A reference to his VA Creator/DiedrichBader having [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold voiced the Dark Knight before.]]˛** We have two Batman voice actors, Troy Baker and Roger Craig Smith, voicing two of Batman's allies, Hawkman and Mr. Miracle.˛** In ''WesternAnimation/TheBatmanVsDracula'' , Tara Strong voiced Vicki Vale, Bruce's love interest and a reporter. Here, she voices Lois Lane, another reporter. The only difference here is that she's ''not'' Superman's love interest here.˛** James Woods voicing Lex Luthor is not [[Disney/{{Hercules}} the only time]] he voiced the enemy of a hero who started as a simple farm boy. ˛* ActorExistenceLimbo: When some episodes have too many characters, they'll make the ones that just have a cameo silent. For example, Zatanna has technically appeared 8 times (9 if you count the shorts), yet she's only spoken in 4 episodes. ˛* BillingDisplacement: The end credits list the voice actors in alphabetical order, not in order of importance to the episode. The only time this rule was broken was in "Zombie King", where Kevin Conroy (Batman) was billed before Lacey Chabert (Zatanna) even though "h" comes before "o" .˛* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: [[ This]] compilation video has a list of fights between Batgirl and Harley throughout the various series. What's the problem? Batgirl never appeared in this series (though promotional art was made for her), while the clip for this series is Harley against ''Stargirl'' .˛* CrossdressingVoices:˛** Creator/TaraStrong, Paula Rhodes, and Erica Lutrell voice [[spoiler: kid Batman, kid John Constantine, and kid Dr. Fate]] in the episode "Trick Or Threat".˛** "Supernatural Adventures In Babysitting" had Stargirl babysitting a little boy named Timmy. Creator/NatalieLander, who voices Stargirl, also voices Timmy.˛** In "Nuclear Family Values", Melissa Disney voiced the young boy named Brat.˛** Subverted with Granny Goodness, who's voiced by an actual woman, Cloris Leachman. ˛* DawsonCasting: Any and all young characters are voiced by adult actors.˛* ExecutiveMeddling: ˛** While character designer Shane Glines was generally given free reign on character design, he said on his Facebook that one of the very few edicts he was given was that Superman wasn't allowed to be drawn with tights, presumably to keep in line with his new costume design from ''Film/ManOfSteel'' (Bizarro, on the other hand, was fair game when it came to the tights [[WeirdnessCoupon because, well, it's Bizzaro we're talking about]]). His design of Zatanna for the show was also forced to be toned down from his original more fanservicey idea, slightly reducing her breast size and changing her corset from pink to white to draw less attention to it. Star Saphire's design was also initially more {{Stripperiffic}}, but the final design was likewise censored.˛** According to an interview with Butch Lukic at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, the writers were given a list of characters that had to show up in the series, which included Space Cabbie. [[TropesAreTools They admitted they didn't mind]], since the list included characters that the producers wanted to utilize anyway.˛** The reason the show exists in the first place was because DC executives turned down a pitch for a new ''Batman'' cartoon, instead suggesting that it should be a new ''Justice League'' show to help promote [[Film/JusticeLeague2017 the 2017 movie]].˛* FlipFlopOfGod: Creator/MarkHamill originally promised that ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheKillingJoke'' would be his swan song as the Joker after saying the same thing previously for his role in the ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries''... And then he committed to this.˛* InvisibleAdvertising: The series has had very little promotion from Creator/CartoonNetwork, even in the months leading to the series premiere. The [=McDonald=]'s tie-in toys were the only advertisement for the show for a while before the premiere.˛* TheOtherDarrin:˛** Chris Diamontopolous voiced Hive Master in "The Trouble With Truth" while Diedrich Bader voices him in "Time Out". Given that the latter's regular character Booster Gold appeared prominently in that episode while Green Arrow was absent, it makes sense.˛** Merlin goes from Dan Donohue in "Speed Demon" to Patrick Seitz in "Hat Trick". Since the latter prominently featured Etrigan, and Brother Night was absent, it makes sense.˛* PlayingAgainstType: Mark Hamill voices Swamp Thing who, while still cynical, is a heroic character. He's usually known for his villain roles, like Joker and Trickster in this series.˛* PromotedFanboy: Jason J. Lewis, Superman's actor, said that he watched ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' when he was 15, and said that he had a hard time not fanboying when working with Creator/KevinConroy himself.˛* RealLifeRelative: Creator/SeanAstin voices both Billy Batson and Shazam, and his adoptive father Creator/JohnAstin voices Billy's Uncle Dudley.˛* RoleReprisal: Aside from [[Creator/KevinConroy Batman]] and [[Creator/MarkHamill the Joker]]:˛** Creator/TaraStrong voices Harley Quinn, like in ''WebAnimation/DCSuperHeroGirls'', the ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries'' and ''VideoGame/InjusticeGodsAmongUs''.˛** Creator/LaceyChabert voices ComicBook/{{Zatanna}}, like in ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'' and ''VideoGame/InjusticeGodsAmongUs''.˛** Creator/GilbertGottfried voices Mister Mxyzptlk, like in ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries''.˛* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The US and Latin American branches of Cartoon Network do little to advertise the show, with the premiere being showcased without fanfare. The series also ended up exclusively in a 7:30 AM slot on Saturdays with no reruns while [=LatAm=] airs the show randomly, probably to pad out time. As with every other show on the network, it's being shoved to the side while [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo a certain other show]] [[AdoredByTheNetwork hogs up all the timeslots in a given month]].˛** The show completely disappeared from Cartoon Network UK in July 2017, and hasn't aired since.˛* ShortRunInPeru: The UK had already aired 18 episodes when the US was just getting started.˛* StarMakingRole: Rachel Kimsey had some minor voice roles and on camera roles before, but her popularity became more pronounced when she voiced Wonder Woman here.˛* RelationshipVoiceActor:˛** From the Franchise/DCAnimatedUniverse, in addition to [[Creator/KevinConroy Batman]] and [[Creator/MarkHamill the Joker]] retaining their voice actors, [[Creator/MichaelDorn Atrocitus]] is Kalibak and (the first voice actor for) Steel, [[Creator/ArminShimerman Zillius Zox]] is Professor Milo, and [[Creator/DiedrichBader Booster Gold]] was Zeta.˛** From the ''Franchise/StarTrek'' franchise, [[Creator/BrentSpiner the Riddler]] is Data, [[Creator/MichaelDorn Atrocitus]] is Worf, [[Creator/ArminShimerman Zillius Zox]] is Quark, and [[Creator/JohnDeLancie Brainiac]] is Q.˛** From ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'', [[Creator/KevinConroy Batman]] is the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh and the Phantom Stranger, [[Creator/DiedrichBader Booster Gold]] is Batman, [[Creator/MarkHamill the Joker]] is the Spectre, [[Creator/MichaelDorn Atroctius]] is Krull, and [[Creator/ArminShimerman Zillius Zox]] is the Calculator and the Psycho Pirate.˛** From the direct-to-video Lego DC Super Heroes films, Creator/JoshKeaton and Creator/KharyPayton continue to reprise their respective roles of Green Lantern and Cyborg. Creator/MarkHamill and Creator/DiedrichBader also had roles in the Lego films.˛* VoicesInOneRoom: The actors record all their lines in the same room, although due to busy schedules, usually only 80% of the cast are around, according to Jason J. Lewis.˛* TalkingToHimself:˛** Mark Hamill voices the Joker, the Trickster, And Swamp Thing. One of the online shorts features the first two kidnapping Hamill himself, and Swamp Thing rescuing him. He even actually '''''invokes''''' the trope by doing his Joker and Trickster voices as 'impersonations'.˛** Jason J. Lewis voices Superman, Krypto, Carmine Falcone, and a whole slew of male characters.˛** Tara Strong voices Harley Quinn, Ember, [[spoiler: Kid Batman]], and Lois Lane. ˛** JohnDiMaggio voices Lobo and Mongul˛** Dana Snyder voices Plastic Man and the Penguin ˛** Trevor Devall voices Cain and Jonah Hex˛** Rachel Kimsey voices four characters. They are Wonder Woman, Bleez, Jackie (who's later revealed to be the Joker in disguise), and Sis.˛* WhatCouldHaveBeen: ˛** Butch Lukic said he and Alan Burnett were aiming for another ''Batman'' TV series, but DC suggested they do a ''Justice League'' series instead to promote the [[Film/JusticeLeague2017 2017 movie]] and there having not been a ''Justice League'' series in the interim.˛** The ''VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha'' homage from the Toyman episode was going to be longer, complete with a gag of Aquaman standing in for Fei Long. ˛----
