* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: When Kermit sits out in the snow too long, he freezes solid until Daniel thaws him with a hair dryer. The writers likely didn’t know this, as real frogs cannot shiver like Kermit does, but some frogs actually can survive being frozen solid. Many frogs freeze solid for the entirety of winter, then thaw out in the spring and return to their normal lives.
* CaliforniaDoubling: The film takes place in Hollywood, but was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
* CelebrityVoiceActor: Mel Brooks is Joe Snow.
* LoopingLines: Similar to what happened with Frank Oz in Film/MuppetTreasureIsland and Film/MuppetsFromSpace, Jerry Nelson was unable to perform any of his characters on-set in this film due to falling ill at the time of filming so stand-in performers did them insteadThis included Steve Whitmire as Statler, who has one un-looped line in the final film ("Historical landmark"), and would take over the character full-time shortly thereafter until his termination from the Muppets in 2016. while he looped their dialogue later. The only one of his returning characters for which he didn't loop dialogue was Lew Zealand, who was played by Bill Baretta.
* TheOtherDarrin: Starting with this movie, all of Frank Oz's characters have been recast -- Miss Piggy, Fozzie and Animal (and Yoda) are performed by Eric Jacobson, while Sam the Eagle is Kevin Clash. Scooter and Janice also get significant dialogue for the first time since Richard Hunt's death, and are now voiced by Brian Henson (for this movie only -- they'd both get recast again for future projects). As mentioned above, Lew Zealand here is performed by Bill Barretta instead of Jerry Nelson.
* RealLifeRelative: John Henson plays Sweetums and his brother Brian plays Scooter, Janice and Sal Minella.
* StudioHop: The film was first released on video by Creator/MetroGoldwynMayer Home Entertainment, due to a distribution deal they had formed with producer NBC for their back catalog. Following NBC's merger with the owners of Creator/Universal, the film ended up in the latter's hands.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: While trying to deliver the money to Miss Bitterman, Fozzie is chased by a character known in the credits as Safari Animal Tracker who is an obvious Expy of Steve Irwin. This role was originally supposed to be Irwin himself in a cameo, but he ultimately had to back down due to scheduling conflicts (around the time the special was being taped, Irwin was filming Film/TheCrocodileHunterCollisionCourse).
* WorkingTitle: He's a Wonderful Frog.
* YouLookFamiliar: Creator/DavidArquette had previously appeared as Dr. Tucker in Film/MuppetsFromSpace.
